We have been going to this Parkers for years. We usually go to the Ashland location now but we found ourselves in Lincoln last night. The food for the most part was spot on and just what we have come to expect. The one exception was one persons brisket dinner - it was terribly dry and over cooked. Everything else was great. My Pitmaster sandwich with beans was exceptional. Service was a little slow but friendly and the beer was ice cold.

I ate at the Lincoln location for the first time and the service was horrible. Took over 45 minutes for a table of 3 to get our food. They ran out of the special before the lunch rush even started but failed to mention this when we ordered it until 15 minutes later. We had to change our order and then they brought us the wrong thing when they finally brought our food out. I will not be going back and I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. The waitress was unprofessional and making excuses as to why she was too busy to wait on us.

I've been here twice, but only managed to eat here once. The first time, we each had to settle for our third choice of food because they had run out of the items we initially selected. The second time I attempted to have dinner here, I stood at the host station with a group of four people for a full 15 minutes while employees walked past and ignored us. I tried to get the attention of a server a couple times to no avail, and we left. I don't plan on giving this place another chance.

Went here while in town from CA. What a mistake, terrible food, terrible service, rude staff. One employee was seen using the restroom and leaving without washing his hands. If you're looking for good BBQ keep looking, this is not the place for you.

Don't order hot beef dinner it's the size of a kids meal and isn't even hot. Took 45 minutes for 4 people's food when there are only 3 other tables here. Not impressed and will not be coming back.

Disappointed all around. Flavors just didnt standbout. After eating Phat Jacks bbq, this can't begin to compare.

I've been a fan for awhile, and the new location makes it easier for us. Its good BBQ, great sauces, and good sides. Many times we order the family combo. Great mix of pork, beef, chicken with all the right sides. This last visit I had the brisket dinner. Good as always. My wife had the chicken and ribs special. She liked it. Biggest issue was we had to wait for a table when there were empty tables all over. I've never understood that, unless they didn't have enough servers. There were several in training that night. Overall I can recommend Parkers to anyone that's needs a regular fix of bbq. Pretty good for little ole Lincoln. I will add that the Ashland location is incredibly noisy, as noted in another review. An accoustic ceiling would do wonders for that location. We avoid it for that reason. Nebraska City is great all around.

I could not honestly recommend Parker's Smokehouse to anyone. I was eating alone this afternoon, and ordered a French Dip and a baked potato. First off, the food took forever, for one sandwich with PRIME RIB on it, something that is already pre-cooked, and just needs to be warmed to temperature. When it came, the sandwich was absolutely drowned in cheese and the whole thing was tasteless. The Au jus was terrible, basically the equivalent of hot water with brown food coloring in it. The baked potato was alright, but its not hard to make a baked potato. I have had much better French Dips at little hole-in-the-wall neighborhood bars. The wait staff was fine, but service was very slow, and it took forever to get the check just so I could get out of there. Also I was never offered a refill on my soda. If you're looking for a good meal, I would totally recommend you go elsewhere. You can get much better food and better service for less than I payed for the meal, which was far too much, that being said.

I just had a really great meal at Parker's Smokehouse. I was dining solo and they really did an outstanding job making me feel comfortable there. After I ordered my food, the bartender (I think her name was Dallas - really cute girl) brought me a couple of their steak fries. Then she had another small plate and put a squiggle of each BBQ sauce on it and explained the sauces. I really appreciated that extra step of providing great customer service. I was able to sample all the sauces before my meal arrived - what a great idea! As for the food, I tried the tortilla soup, signature salad with rotisserie chicken, and for $3 more, I got 2 ribs. I really like the fact that I could add a couple of ribs to my meal. That's another way that Parkers made me feel comfortable. I was trying to eat a "little" bit healthy, so I didn't want to eat an entire order of ribs, but 2 ribs was just right for a taste. Besides, the ribs were fantastic!! The chicken was moist and delicious, and the salad was put together very nicely. The tortilla soup was good, but a little creamier than I usually prefer. The food was great, and the service was very prompt and friendly. I ate at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and conversational. Try the ribs!!

Not the best BBQ, but not the worst. The new location is clean but a little out of the way. 84th and O street is not really near anything else so you need to make this a destination rather then looking around and asking which one of these restaurants near me do I want to eat at. That's usually how I approach eating out. The meat is well seasoned and smoky but the pork can have a little to much fat at times. I prefer my meats a little leaner. The catfish isn't bad and not a lot of places serve catfish which is a surprise to me because its inexpensive and not bad if prepared correctly. Service was average, about what I would expect. They refilled our drinks in a timely fashion and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time.

I have been patronizing this location for years. Mostly because it is a decent barbeque place that is near the mall. Average is how I woul describe their BBQ. There is much better in town if you know where to look. I stopped in this last Saturday and as I realize their BBQ is average decided to try something different. I had the bloomin onion for an appetizer, the cajun catfish with a salad and mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The bloomin onion appetizer was delicious and HUGE. My family of 4 gave up on it because it was just too much. As with all of these fried onions, it was greasy. It seemed to get greasier as I went along. The cajun catfish was pretty good. Instead of a big fillet, they were catfish chunks. They appeared to be fried in some sort of cornbread batter, not sure. I have definitely had better catfish but it was pretty good. Between my fried onion, and catfish, I had my fill of fried food. I ordered the salad and I had to ask for it. They forgot to bring it out a head of time and didn't bring it out with the meal. The manager brought it out and apologized, then the waitress apologized. So that was okay. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy was only "okay." The gravy tasted like it came from a powder instead of homemade. I am pretty sure I could get the same thing at home out of a can. Overall, average but solid. I've been here many times and will likely come back but I don't expect a fine dining experience, just a decent BBQ.

Three of us ate here during the 2014 Applejack Festival. We all ordered Ribs and Meat Combo for around $16.50ish. Ironically, we all selected the Catfish strips as the meat along with the 4 pork ribs. The ribs were excellent, the catfish strips were fantastic. One of my friends said he hardly would ever think about giving a place a GREAT review but he felt that way about Parker's Smokehouse. The sides were very good as well. Really excellent BBQ Dining experience.

The flavor of their pulled pork is wonderful. I eat there several times a month. I also enjoy the smokehouse chicken. The staff is friendly, the place is clean and the food is good. I love going to Parker's.

Short and sweet version. Location is hard to access except from the west. Parking may be adequate however it was not busy tonight so hard to tell. Greeting & seating excellent. Waiter arrival, courtesy and knowledge-excellent. Food arrival-very quick. Food quality-speaking for my plate only-Beef brisket was dry, thinly sliced with what I would rate as poor smoke. Cole slaw-weak flavor comparable to a weak HyVee. Potato salad-Potato was under cooked and flavor was weak. Sauce variety was good, most were tame with option to kick it up at extra cost. Wine was $6.50 per glass and was either weak or watered down house wine. All together absolutely no comparison to good BBQ, not even close. Service, mostly young adults was excellent. They do a wonderful job of training. Cleanliness was good, atmosphere OK for BBQ. Food Presentation is a plastic basket, paper wrap bottom and with the butter in a container and all on top of a wipe packet for a picnic touch. Dinner for two, two wines, no appetizer, no desert with 20% gratuity was 48.00 I will not go back unless my BBQ Fanatic wife insists and adds some incentive.

We found the Ashland location by accident a few months back and had a decent meal there. They told us there was also one in Lincoln. Went there today in the ongoing search for good ribs. Ribs were good but not exceptional and fries were big chunky chip style and were very good. Waitress was attentive and the manager checked with us to make sure everything was okay. Saturday lunchtime atmosphere was fairly quiet.

My husband, daughter, and I went to Parker's today. The atmosphere was pretty blah compared with the many fabulous downhome bbq places we have been to in the past (we love bbq... lived in Texas and actually went on a bbq road trip through many states at one point). The restaurant was clean and tidy... perhaps too clean and tidy (aka sterile)? We felt like some blues should be pumping through the place or something, but all was quiet and serene. We were seated by a very friendly host, and our waitress came over after a few minutes with a bowl of enormous steak fries, which were really good. She then took us through a tour of their bbq sauces. We ordered the BBQ Feast for 2 ($30), which offered ribs, chicken, sliced brisket, chopped brisket, beans, potato salad, baked apples, fries, and cornbread. While waiting, we tasted each of the bbq sauces. Meh. Not bad, but nothing to make any of them stand out. Our personal favorite was the "Featured Sauce" but, again, that's not saying much. Once we got our bbq feast, we delved right in. The chicken was flavorful and tender, the ribs were also tender and tasty (not falling off the bone, but tender), and the chopped brisket was pretty yummy as well. The sliced brisket, however, was so ridiculously tough we couldn't even eat it. The cornbread muffins were moist and really good. The beans and the potato salad were standard fare... decent, but nothing to get excited about. The baked apples were made of awesome. All in all, we had a pleasant meal at Parker's. However, if you have had the opportunity to have excellent bbq and sauces in some truly unique bbq joints in places like Texas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, etc., you will not be shouting from the rafters. I am certainly not saying you can't get good bbq in Nebraska, but I haven't found anything in Lincoln that compares to places like McClard's (Arkansas), Rendezvous (Tennessee), Old Hickory (Kentucky), Hard Eight (Texas), etc.

I really like this place, the ambiance reminds me of home (Los Angeles). It's a bit trendy, and yet classy with a lot historical pictures. We like to go around and looks at them all when the place isn't busy. The food is great, I have yet to have something I didn't like. But it's not as good as some of the "other" bbq places in town, not worse...but not better. I'd say about the same. If you want BBQ and a more "trendy" atmosphere, this is your place...if you want more of a back woods, hick, country place..then you might want to stick with the other bbqs. I think the atmosphere is the only place that sets this place apart from the others, not the food.

Not really a positive review, I've had better bbq but service was good and the food wasn't bad.

I just ate at Parker's for the first time with some friends last night. I am by no means a BBQ joint connoisseur, but I thought this place was pretty decent. The atmosphere is okay. The thing I really liked about it is the pictures of old downtown Lincoln they had all over the place. My friends and I enjoyed checking out the pictures and trying to place where the buildings in the old photos would be today. The food was okay. I ordered beef brisket, and it had a pretty good flavor but it was a bit tough. I was hoping it would be more tender and juicy. The BBQ sauces at the table were pretty decent, and they give you a few potato wedges before your meal to give you a chance to sample the sauces which is a nice touch. The side salad I had contained fresh, crisp ingredients. The cornbread muffin may have been my favorite part of the meal. It was slightly sweet and a bit crisp on the top. Very good but probably terrible for me, but when you've committed to eating BBQ I think you've thrown all healthy eating habits out the window! The service was okay. Everything was a bit slow, and our waitress seemed slightly aloof. I do have to say there was a manager or owner that was incredibly friendly and checked on our table two times to make sure we were happy. You could tell she really cared and was passionate about the place.

DISGUSTING. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and a side salad (how bad can that be?), my fiancé ordered the pulled pork with a side of ribs and Cole slaw and we also ordered the bacon cheese fries as an appetizer. We were so excited because we're new to town and we were looking for some good ol BBQ to eat on the 4th of July, but when our food came that excitement quickly turned into disappointment. The bacon cheese fries were somewhat edible, but you can tell the fries had been sitting under a heat lamp for for a few hours. Then my salad came... It consisted of tiny amount of brown, dry lettuce under a mountain of poor quality cheese and bacon. Then our "entrees" came out, and this is when my fiancé and I had to get the manager- there was NO WAY we were going to pay a cent for the slop they brought to us. My chicken sandwich had about a teaspoonful of bland BBQ chicken on a gigantic toasted, yet cold, bun. My fiancé ate one rib and stated that it was chewy and tough. His pulled pork was cold, but the icing on the cake was when my fiancé took a bite of the coleslaw and literally GAGGED.. The Cole slaw was spoiled!! Completely sour!! I took one sniff of it and almost puked myself (it makes me want to puke just thinking about it). On top of that, the tables, the menus, and serving tongs they gave us for the appetizer all felt like they were covered in a sticky film. We only paid for the appetizer and our drinks (but we still tipped our waitress, she was sweet) and left. Needless to say, we will not ever go back there and I highly recommend not eating there! Poor, poor quality. *end of rant* Happy 4th of July!!

I give it a 2 star because I like their sauces.I ate lunch there last time I was in Lincoln and it wasn't bad.So I decided to get some wings from there today. That will not happen a second time..All but one wing was broken.they were not cleaned meaning they were very fatty.plain gross.

Went to the Nebraska City location, which is still not on Yelp, and had an excellent soup-and-salad deal. No salt bomb croutons this time! I am beginning to wonder if the Lincoln location is simply not as good.
