It all started when we walked in...service, service, service. If that wasn't enough, and of course it wouldn't be enough, the food came out in glorious excess. I ended up taking home enough for 2 more meals! I went for the St. Louis (I think that's the name) ribs and added some Texas Pit spicier sauce. (DON'T QUOTE ME ON THE "TEXAS PIT" I might not have remembered correctly.) Then I added the garlic red skin mashed potatoes...a delight from heaven especially if you like garlic...suggestion: add melted butter! Then I was a good girl and ate my broccoli which I love, too...but not as much as those excellent ribs. They were done to perfection. Many restaurants first practically boil rib meat off the bone before "BBQ-ing". They go through quite a process. I was told a manager had to go through 6 or so weeks training where he/she learned all the secrets... My ribs were so good my tongue fell out of my mouth and then slapped my brains out. (That is not my line. I stole it from my brother, Werner Jay.) Gene ordered the ribs and 2 other BBQ meats, those mashed potatoes to die for and something else I forgot to snag off his plate. I can't remember what it was. Barb chickened out, literally. She chose roasted chicken. She can't handle the least spicy anything. But she was a happy camper with her chicken. If you haven't been and you love BBQ...get in your pickup and head for Famous Dave's! OK, you can also take the family car if you would prefer. I'm from California and of course we think all Nebraska people drive pick-em-up trucks. Just kidding...just kidding. This BBQ was so good I'm thinking of moving here...and I'm not kidding. But I must say there are a few other reasons. Bon appetite! or Y'all Come! PS...I was born in Oklahoma so I can say these things. Got you going, didn't I?

A friend from work suggested hitting up Dave's and talked them up a good game. We stopped in and the place was fairly busy. I can say that the food was ok, but the portions were very small (I'm ok with that) but the price was not small. The service was friendly. I wasn't really full but did not feel like ordering dessert. Overall a not bad eats but slightly more expensive than I expected.

I have always loved Famous Dave's especially sine I have been to the original Famous Dave's in Hayward Wisconsin. For a chain this location has great food! Staff is super friendly! And it is always clean!! The north woods atmosphere is great!! Burgers are to die for and if you have a group their trash can lid BBQ dinner is great, a little bit of something for everyone. I just wish they would bring back their chicken wild rice soup. This is a corporate location so they are great at supporting military and giving military discounts. We came here with my husbands recruiter before he went to boot camp. Overall I love Famous Dave's! Their food quality at this location is great and so is the staff! I also love the atmosphere!

Stopped in today for some lunch. It's been a while since we've been here as its on the other side of town. I have to say, it has declined a bit. We had the onion straw appetizer and it was very good. I much prefer those to a bloomin' onion. Those were devoured quickly by my sons. I got the beef brisket sandwich Memphis Style. Which was a misnomer because when the waitress brought it she apologized and said they were out of coleslaw. Seriously? Who runs out of coleslaw? Anyway, the sandwich isn't the same anymore. In stead of big slices of brisket, it looks like it had been hashed. It was all small chucks, like pulled pork, only smaller. It left the meat very dry and unsatisfying. I am not sure when they changed to doing their sandwiches this way but I won't be ordering one again, which is too bad because I prefer brisket. So, I know its picky, but that one little change may mean that I won't be back. Otherwise, the service was excellent and our waitress, Julie, did an outstanding job.

Nice ribs! Always so many people waiting for the seats. The fries are also good.

Each time I go there, the prices get higher, the portions get smaller, and the tables get pushed closer together. Try Phat Jack's on 11th & Cornhusker. Complete opposite side of town, but oh so worth it.

This establishment, as a whole, is a lot like the Nebraska Cornhusker's recent football teams: You expect so much from them beforehand, but every time the experience/time spent is horribly, horribly average.

Expect at least an hour delay when ordering food for pickup. When you inquire about how much longer it will be an employee will "smartly" respond "it's in the window!" I got the order almost an hour after it was "in the window!" What is troubling is that the place was not that busy. I won't be ordering from this chain restaurant again.

These guys are pretty good. I had their St. Louis style ribs, and they were *sexy.* Their prices are good and their portions are filling. Other than that, not too much to say that stands out, but they are a solid BBQ joint for sure.

They have really good sauces and really good service. A good sauce is hard to come by.

Ate here a few times. it is pretty good. Their ribs are pretty tasty and the Brisket is worth a try. Avoid the seasonal catfish though...slimmy and gross.

I'm not snooty or anything when it comes to eating at huge chain restaurants. Sometimes I just don't want to have to look at the menu and think about what to order...sometimes I know I want a good brisket sandwich served Memphis-style and I don't want to spend my $10 bill at a place I've never been before on BBQ I've never tried before. Sometimes I just want it to be a no-brainer, and if the food and service turn out to be mediocre, I can give the place the benefit of the doubt, figure they were having an off-night and come back some other time, because I have tried the same sandwich many times before when it has been stellar. Sometimes you have to stick with what you know. And sometimes you wish you hadn't. Like when you're sitting on the patio eating your food and a car full of drunk high-school seniors rolls up. You wish you hadn't because then you see one of those little senior girls in the front seat stumble out, puke in the parking lot and subsequently be carried to another car, where she throws up again. That will teach me to eat out on a patio that faces a parking lot...

Here used to be my favorite place. It always offer me coupons, when I have time, Dave's was always my first place to go. BUT recently, the food here becomes less and more salty than before, all dishes come with more and more sides , the plate didn't change, so the meat... Anyway I still like it . It was my special day with my husband , and I got a coupon, so we went to Dave's. They put us a very small table for two which was a completely tragedy. We ordered the dinner for two, and the table was too small for that, the dish came out black, and we thought it was over cooked, we asked the waitress to change it because we had not even touched the dish. The waitress gave us new a half chicken and the rib which were even blacker. We wanted to keep the first one only. But the waitress wanted us to keep them, it was ok to take them home. But the table was really too small, and there were about ten people seating just beside us, kids and waitresses came though over and over again, everyone touched our food by bottoms. The food was over cooked just as it looked like, we had to move all the black skin away from the meat , the ribs and chicken were dry and a little bit bitter. We could not eat them all. We waited a long time for the box, and another long time for a bag, the kids beside us were really noisy. Our table was full of plates, nobody even came and help us. At last we decided to checkout ourselves, we found we must go back to our waitress. I do not want to blame the waitress, because she was really very nice. It was my fault to go there on our romance day. I think when I forget that day, I may go there again.

Factory food. Recent take out order was cold. The meat was dry and the corn soggy. The muffin hard and tasteless. Waste of $18!!!!!

Ehhh, this place has good ribs tips and burgers but only if they are made right. Which is about a 50/50 chance. Have had both extreme's in waiter/waitress services. You may either great service or terrible service, depending on the person of course. But if you are looking for a happening and busy place in the evening it is a good choice.

Best BBQ in Lincoln. Food is always good, consistent. A bit noisy and not for quiet evenings, but the patio seating in the late summer early fall is great, especially when you go around 8:30-9 pm.

Great St Louis style ribs. The sides weren't much to witness. The garlic red skinned mashed potatoes sounded great but in reality they were just lukewarm pasty wimpy mashed potatoes. Service was fairly attentive, quick in most cases, but we waited for what seemed like ages to get our tab paid

Probably my favorite place to eat in Nebraska. For some reason I also like this one better than any of Omaha's Famous Daves locations. They have great food and great service. My favorite thing to order is the Devil's Spit Burger with fries and then order a cornbread muffin as a side. Then I usually mix all of the sauces together (because I do that kind of thing). You won't be disappointed if you order this. They also have other great sandwiches to check out.
