What stands out about this place is the high-quality food and great burger selection. I got the duck fries, which were super tasty. The duck flavor was subtle. I was disappointed to find there were no stouts or porters on tap, but the bartender was very friendly and recommended a good bottled beer to suit my needs.

went for dinner last night at 9:20pm. One two tables were occupied in addition to ours. Before we even received our food we had to move tables.. the music was turned up so loud everyone in the place had to yell to hear each other. I'm a musician and in the bar scene on a regular basis and the level of music was way too loud. Everyone in the place was eating so it seemed a bit out of place as people were trying to talk.

I like the food here but the owner seemed annoyed at my presence the last time I was here and that made me kind of uncomfortable. If I'm going to pay money for food I really do expect to be respected by the staff that work in the establishment, and I especially expect to be respected by the ownership. I probably won't be back

Another great visit! This time I had the jalapeño ale and the chicken Caprese burger and they were both delicious. We will definitely be back!

A friend and I meet for lunch once a month and for explorations sake at a different restaurant each time. We chose Dempsey's Burger Pub because of a recent #1 Burger in Lincoln rating in the Lincoln Journal Star. We were curious because we had yet to have a truly great burger and in spite of past disappointments at Restaurants who had garnered similar rave reviews we decided on giving Dempsey's a try. This one I am pleased to say was very accurate and to top off a great foodie experience we had impeccable service. My friend is a Cheeseburger Fanatic and I tend to explore more which sometimes bites me back, but not this time. I chose The Kobe Burger and my friend chose the Dempsey Cheese Burger. Both were outstanding. I ordered mine Medium Rare and it was perfect. The meat was not compacted, it was perfectly juicy and the sear and flavor made you want it to last forever. A most perfect burger if there ever was. He said his was the best Cheeseburger he had had in our 2-1/2 year search. The fries and sauces were excellent, hand cut I believe, and the sauces were very flavorful. And you can't go wrong with the selection of the beer on tap. One more thing......our Waitress was outstanding, warm friendly, helpful...and get this....when I left my Credit Card by mistake she ran across the street and caught us before we entered the parking garage. Her smile told it all....this place not only makes a superb burger but it employees outstanding, caring folks who enjoy serving it. Thanks...hope this starts your mouth watering for the Best Burger in Lincoln!

Great food. Great staff. Even a great crowd of people young & old! And if you need anything, just talk to Josh. He'll even get the bathrooms cleaned if you ask him!

We had less than an hour to grab dinner before a movie on a Friday night and decided to try Dempsey's. We were able to order quickly, eat and leave with plenty of time to make our show. The Thai Peanut Butter burger was absolutely delicious, but what I loved best were the duck fat fries. They were by far the best fries I've ever had in Lincoln and I normally don't like fries very much. We look forward to visiting Dempsey's again when we have more time for drinks--and next time we'll bring friends.

Love this place! You can tell that the kitchen staff goes out of their way to make everything as fresh as possible. What other burger joint in town literally makes everything? Even down to the ketchup and pickles!

Just after "lunch" hour... Ordered Burger medium- got super well done. Only table in the whole place needing service, still took about 20 minutes to get food for three. Promptness and overall service experience was lacking. Bacon was delicious though.

The food here is good. The service is always on point. The check always comes too early. I have a thing about being delivered the check before I ask for it. Last night it came before we'd even made it through tasting our meal. I don't like the "turning tables" mentality that a lot of service workers have. Especially when the place is almost empty. I won't stop visiting Dempsey's because of it but, if the check hadn't come so early in our meal, I would have been inclined to have another cocktail and spend more money.

The food was great, for being with a big group it came out fast and hot. The Bacon Swiss Mushroom burger was delicious and a good combo with their Fire Fries. The waiter was nice though stretched thin between all the tables in the restaurant. So our waters were near empty a couple times. Otherwise, nice atmosphere. A little loud. As a pub should be.

What can I say. Its the only place in this god-forsaken city that cooks my burger to order. I've never experienced the horror of being brought anything less than a perfect, juicy, moan-inducing medium. In addition to the already excellent standard menu- their always creative, rotating "guest burgers" continually offer new things to try. Even as a regular, my taste buds are never bored. Mondays are cheap for students (Half Price!), so even my empty wallet can swing a meal and a cold beer without breaking the bank. Plus, the bar is phenomenal and hands down one of the best late-night haunts in town. Its the best meat I've ever put in my mouth. Now go put your mouth on it.

The bleu burger with jalapeños is the best burger I've eaten all throughout Portland, Oakland, Denver, Albuquerque, KC, Memphis, Sioux City, and Lincoln, needless to say, best burger and service experience I've ever had. Don't pass up this opportunity!!!!!!

Ordered the Kobe burger and duck fat fries. The sprouts overwhelmed the burger. I scraped them off, and had to add salt. And it was dry, and perfectly round which made me wonder if it was previously frozen? The fries were soggy, but luckily that's how I like them. My husband thought they were awful. He ordered the fish, which was also soggy. Terrible service- multiple times I had to flag our waitress down, even getting up to get her. She was busy texting! Maybe our fault for going out on a Wednesday?

I may have mentioned this once or twice in previous reviews, but I'm REALLY not a fan of Lincoln. Like, at all. That said, I have made the trip from Omaha to Lincoln several times just to come to Dempsey's. I've done this for two reasons: First, the food, beer, and service has been just excellent each time I've been to Dempsey's. The Wellington Kobe burger is like an out of body experience for your tongue. It can honestly go toe-to-toe with the tastiest burgers I've had in my life. I wanna start a band and make this burger my lead guitarist. The second reason I have a crush on Dempsey's is that they regularly open up early on weekends to show English Premier League soccer. It's surprisingly hard to find a good EPL viewing spot in Omaha or Lincoln, thanks to the early hours the games are broadcasted here. Dempsey's is easily the best place I've found in the state to get your English football-fix. If Lincoln is comparable to Mordor (and it most certainly is), Dempsey's is that rock that Frodo and Sam hid behind to escape the burning gaze of Sauron. That's... sort of a clumsy analogy, but you get my meaning. Next time you're in a burger-pub sort of mood, go to Dempsey's.

Was pretty good food, lunch hour only 1 real waiter so had to flag him down for our tab 10 min after we were done. Also asked if burger came with a side, was told yes, ordered fries then was 2.50 for the fries. Nice atmosphere, music a bit loud, before this always had good service.

Ok, a lot of potential but there is a reason that it's only 3 *s. Customer service was pretty lacking from the bartender Max, I felt I learned more about the place from Josh who wasn't even my server. So to start off with I get the Bacon Mushroom Swiss burger and Truffle Fries. The burger is ordered Medium Rare and I get Well. So I don't eat the burger more on that later... Truffle fries good but not really my cup of tea. So I ask for a menu and order a different burger. I get the thai peanut butter burger and make a point to stress to Max, Medium rare. Max asks if the burger wasn't cooked right and I tell her it was well. The second burger... Outstanding love the peanut butter and the chutney. The burger was more rare than medium rare, but with me if your going to miss I prefer missing on the rare side. Then the check, charged for both burgers which was a little off putting when you consider that it was taken back and I mention that it was overcooked which was why I didn't eat it.

I dig this place a lot. Fries are bountiful and tasty with several different offerings of them, and to my knowledge the only place in town that serves a Kobe burger regularly on the menu. JTK on occasion serves Kobe beef but i do not believe it is on the menu 100% of the time. A couple of reasons i dig place. That Kobe burger is good, ate it twice. I also like the bar set up here. They regularly have Funkwerks brewing company on tap as well as a wide selection of solid craft beer. Dangit i love Funkwerks beer when i come here i know it'll be on tap. Also a little tip to the wise, this is one if not the closet bars to Memorial stadium. it makes it really easy to bust out half time and grab your favorite beer and a shot before the second half of Husker Football.

I'm a Bloody Mary enthusiast, and ordered their insane Blooming Bloody Mary during a recent trip to Lincoln for a wedding. I also ordered a side salad, though easily the drink's garnishes were enough for a meal. The beverage not only posed well for a Facebook-worthy photo, but it was SO delicious. It comes with two skewers that include a chicken wing, bacon, and a slider. Yes, a CHICKEN WING. Peppers and olives come as well, but almost as an afterthought. The body of the Bloody Mary was good - though I prefer a thicker, horseradish-y taste as opposed to tons of Worcestershire - but all in all, the drink balanced the snack portion nicely. Though I focused mainly on the bloody, the house salad with the vinaigrette was tasty and fresh. My friends and I also ordered truffle fries - a tad on the salty side, but we inhaled them quickly so no complaints here. Touchdown for Dempseys. USA! USA! USA!

I would give the place five stars, but the service was just okay... I ordered the picante burger and it was amazing; messy, but amazing. The duck fat fries were good, but I could barely tell the difference from the regular fries, so not really worth the upgrade price. Anyway, I will definitely go back.

My stomach is full. It wasn't too salty to stop eating; but Man, Woman and Child the famous and adored Truffle Fries were TOO salty for me! The sliders I ordered were tasty, but the overwhelming flavor was saltiness again. The buns had a nice consistency and were actually sweet. We ordered the truffle cream and garlic sauce to go with the fries but neither sauce added to the fries; and both sauces were super-rich. My husband ordered garlic wings and spicy wings. They were good and meaty but he had me taste them to help determine which flavor wing we were eating. Not an eating experience I will be in a hurry to re-live.

Waking by and thought we would stop on. Kind of cool atmosphere but they didn't take it far enough. Super excited to see truffle fries on the menu then out came a cold basket of mushy potatoes. Boo. Burger bun was like a sponge and the drinks were weak. Had high hopes but it fell flat.

All of our food was very good. I had the egg burger (although I almost ordered the bacon mushroom Swiss just for the pretzel bun). Mom had the fish and chips (beer battered) it was good not great--but we're in Nebraska so what do you do. Dad had the sliders which were excellent. We split a basket of the truffle fries which I would order again. Waitress was very attentive however not very knowledgable about the menu but that should come with time. It's still really new. It's good enough I will definitely go back but not SO good that I'll forget some of my other favorite joints in town.

This place is great! Friendly staff. Shared a House Burger and a Bleu Burger along with the Truffle fries. The Classic Burger was a good, solid cheeseburger. The Bleu Burger was amazing. Cooked well, had a good amount of Bleu cheese, some delicious "French-onion-ish" onions on it. So, so, so good. The truffle fries were really good! A tiny bit salty but they were still awesome. Can't wait to go back.

This is a college bar type place with food. Decent burgers and fries, similar to Five Guys but not much more. Everything comes in a basket, no plates. Super casual with a O' street bar atmosphere.

I've been here twice now. Meh. The service is kind of slow and inattentive but I suspect the service issues will iron themselves out the longer the place is in business. I never did get the water I asked for on my first visit and my iced tea went dry a couple of times. As to the food. Again, meh. I had the House Burger on my first visit and it was fine but there are way better burgers available in Lincoln for less than a seven dollar price point plus another buck plus for fries. Think Honest Abe's or Leadbelly for great burgers and a lesser or equal price point. I'm certainly not paying $9-$11 for 'Kobe beef' when I can get a great regular old Nebraska burger for about half that price anywhere else. My second visit, I had the fish and chips. Again, not bad but not earth shatteringly great. I got a pretty good sized plank of fish on top of a basket of fries for nine bucks. The 'home made' tartar sauce did not the price point make. It was okay but that was it. I imagine this place will go gang busters once football season starts and the university is back in. I can say I've tried it but it wouldn't be my first choice for brew pub grub or drinks.

I heard about Dempsey's from a couple of co-workers who were raving about it so I decided to give it a try over Thanksgiving break. OMG I've been back 10 times since. I seriously can't get enough of this place. Burgers are awesome! I tend to get the special, but I always can fall back on the Picante Burger when I need a solid favorite. Beer and drink selection is awesome if you come for dinner and want to make a night of it. If I had a fault to give I would tell you here, but I don't. From service to food this place rocks.

The food is great!!! Spilt burgers both times I've been in and loved then all. However both times service was nonexistent, never was asked how the food was tasting, had empty cups of soda, once the server finally asked if we wanted a refill she didn't even stop to put the drink down just walked past and put it on our table. Brought the check and didn't even thank us for coming in, the check was wrong so I had to catch another worker for him to get out server to fix our check, again she didn't even stop at our table to apologize... She just tossed the book on the table and was gone. Again, great burgers, but won't be back because of the service.

I usually love Dempsey's but today I was not digging it. Before today, I have eaten there five times, each time being satisified, though their service is slow. I stopped in for lunch today, and the first thing I noticed was how long the food was taking. It took them thirty minutes to bring out the burgers and the fries, the waitress stating that the fries were the reason that it took so long. We had just ordered a basket of regular fries. I ordered the Thai Peanut burger, which is usually one of my favorite, but today was mediocre and over cooked, though I asked for it medium well. The bun was burnt. My boyfriend ordered the smokestack burger. It was literally a patty with two slices of bacon and some lettuce, between a burnt bun. There were none of the fixings that make it the smokestack. No cheese, no sauce, nothing else. Also the fries were so stale, it hurt to chew them. We requested that his burger be remade and instead we got back the same burger with a piece of swiss cheese on it. It was cold. They could have remade it. Nothing was done with the fries. The waitress felt bad and have us the fries for free and took half off the burger. Today may have been a game changer to whether Dempsey's stays my main burger place.

Decent atmosphere. Burger was dry and desperately needed some seasoning. appeared to be a frozen patty. Bacon was good but that's hard to mess up. Mushrooms were good but again, needed some salt or something. Ice tea was pretty bad. Fries were the best part of the meal.

Stole the pic off their web site of the bloody mary. I have never seen anything like this so my friend and I tried it out last Saturday. It was awesome. We are going to make it our regular brunch meal. Did not try the burgers yet but will be back. The burgers I saw around me looked killer.

No doubt a Burger bar. The burgers were a little better then average, some creativity involved. Truffle fries were awesome! Good beer selection. Service was a little shaky but sometimes you get that a new places.

Might be the best burger I have had in Lincoln. I think it was called a kobe burger. Not sure if it was real kobe beef or not but doesn't really matter cause it was great. wings are good and reasonably priced. truffle fries were good. Music was obnoxiously loud and horrible music on top of it. But they turned it down at my request and was thanked by a couple of different tables. We played a bunch of our tunes on jukebox which made it more pleasant. I really like this place, more of a pub or bar atmosphere than restaurant feel as the names says.

My wife and I ate here before a concert and loved it. The server suggested my wife could substitute salmon in the burger salad and it was fantastic. I greatly enjoyed my burger as well. The service was impeccable.
