We stopped here with great expectations after reading some reviews. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The service was slow and the kitchen took FOREVER! I can't really comment on the food...we ordered 2 burgers medium rare and no sides. What was served to us were well done burgers. How hard was that order? I will give them points for the salad bar but we would never go back.

What a great find. We were staying at the Comfort Suites across the parking lot (owned by same folks) and needed some grub. I'm glad we decided to try it out. The food was pretty good, I had the Mother-in-law steak with sweet potato fries (which have this magical marshmallow cream sauce). My husband ordered the chicken fingers with homemade chips and the kid ordered the grilled shrimp. The husband ended up eating the grilled shrimp (he says they were good) and the kid ate the chicken. The real treat were the servers and owners, and the back deck. They let our dog out back and my kid got to throw rocks in the flooded pond. It was beautiful and a much needed respite. The owners both came out back to chat with us and our server had some great suggestions. Overall, it was just a great experience.

Had the lunch special here today (Ruben sandwich and salad bar). This place seems very clean and generic. The Ruben was ok and the salad bar was fair. Leaving, however, I was given a miniature cow tail treat! That got my attention! I think this restaurant needs more out of the box things like that!

Food was ok. Decor was really solid Americana and made the stop fun. I had French dip as they were out of the prime rib sandwich. It was ok. Service was a bit slow as they were not crowed and it took a while. Order got mixed up and I got breaded chicken wings which were heavily breaded nuggets with a wee bit of chicken. The nachos chips were thick and more like Chinese fried noodles. The cheese whiz had jalapeño flavor mixed in so my wife was not happy with the nachos. My wife liked the salad bar.

Walked over from the hotel for supper. Place looked crowded but turns out most were in the bar side... The restaurant side nicely divided and really family friendly. Nice smattering of folk and more came as we were ahead of the dinner crowd. Salad bar fresh and cold...Not a lot of choices but more than enough variety for most I think. We got the Spinach Artichoke Rangoon as an appetizer. My wife LOVED them with the ranch sauce. I thought they were bland but presentation was nice. Guess it's personal preference here. Give them a try...maybe it's just me. Drinks served in 32 oz. Bell jar. My wife sipped water out of a straw of iced water...I drank down the iced Dr.Pepper...I know...Just pop...but it sure hit the spot tonight. My wife went with the fettuccini Alfredo...and loved it too... Serving size was generous. I had the Grandma sized rib eye... Maybe it's been awhile...maybe I was in a meat eating mood...I thought the steak was perfect. The bread roll was light and airy. I had bbq beans but I was stuffed and didn't finish them. Too many peppers and stuff in the beans and not enough bbq...but if you like western grilled beans you'd like these. Great local place...if you're cruising down I 80 and it's time to sit and eat...this place is a wonderful choice. Fast friendly service...reasonably priced.

Good food, good service, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Open faced beef sandwich with gravy, excellent. Burger, great. Only complaint, the fries were cold, but they still tasted good. We will stop back again. Good place.

Found this restaurant after striking out at nearby towns that smelled from the food processing factories. Cute new restaurant off the exit but in a quiet setting. Has that new wood smell and very clean and bright. Service was very friendly and they set us up at an outside table so our dog could get out of the car and join us. Overall the food was plentiful and tasty and our waiter couldn't have been friendlier. Made for a very nice stop while traveling on I-80

Service was great! Staff was very friendly and fast. Clean bathrooms! Food was great as well. Fried chicken and steak were the favorites of my family. Salad bar was also good! Definitely recommend this to anyone along the I-80 that is hungry or needs a place to relax and watch some sports. Happy hour specials too!

The best part of this establishment is the service. Our server was warm and friendly. The decor fit. They are going for that hometown joint feel and it worked. No sign on the outside of the building - so we weren't sure we were going into the right place. It would be helpful to have a logo on the door. Great bar area, looked like a fun place to hang out on game day. Fairly clean place, no complaints. The food received mixed reviews at our table. We started with onion rings as they were the only app that is made in house. All others are frozen. They were crispy, but too greasy. The husband ordered roast beef sandwich and loved it. He is originally from nebraska and he said it tasted like home. It came plated with mashed potatoes and covered with brown gravy. I tried it and thought the roast had a wonderful flavor. A bit too much gravy for me, but good. I ordered the French dip and the meat was very dry. He tried mine too and agreed. The au jus wasn't seasoned well and led to a very bland, dry sandwich. The sweet potato fries were cooked from the freezer and served with a strange dipping sauce that tasted like nothing but cinnamon and white sugar in ranch? I get what they were going for - but it didn't work for me. The grilled cheese, bacon and pesto sandwich was ordered too. The pesto was lovely, but did not enjoy it on the grilled cheese. Would have loved to have it served with some fresh veggies instead. All in all - mixed feelings on this one. Maybe this is the taste of nebraska, but the food was very heavy and lacked fresh flavors that I crave. We are on a road trip and the food is not settling very well...

A pleasant surprise for a great meal. Names and Descriptions of menu item make for a fun read. The farm pond fish sandwich is beer battered Arctic Cod. Farmer's wife steak is a larger version of the Farmer's Daughter 12 oz steak., ect. Well worth the stop.

We stopped here with the family on our way home from South Dakota. The family loved it. They have a nice salad bar and the food was great. The prices and service were awesome too.

Been here a time or two. Food has always been good for me, whether I get a ribeye or my recent fav the club sandwich. Service is friendly, best in town. COLDEST BEER IN TOWN! Don't let the other signs in town fool you. It was so cold from the tap I wish I brought a sweater. Just perfect! Good selection too. It would be nice if there was an area outside to sit and drink so you don't have to leave your drink at the bar. If your stopping in Gburg check it out....

From the amazingly friendly employees to the mouth watering food... The Barn and Grill definitely won a spot in our family's dining anytime we are in the area. Our server Walker was not only very courteous, he was extremely knowledgeable about the food. Its hard to find a place that warms your heart's as much as it fills your bellies .... We are from the twin cities and we can't think of a place we've been to that made us feel this welcome.... anytime you're within the vicinity of Gothenburg NE....don't hesitate to make your way over to the Barn and Grill... You won't be disappointed.
