This is the second time I have eaten at Dusters. Everyone I know from Columbus and surrounding areas raves about this place, and I can't say that I agree with them. It is ok but nothing to write home about...maybe because I have so many choices in Omaha. The positive points are the nice atmosphere, good for large groups, the early bird menu, and the beer brewed onsite. I found my meal to be passable. I ordered a steak, which came with potato, soup, AND salad. The soup, a chowder, was virtually tasteless and needed a lot of salt and pepper. The steak was cooked well and you can't mess up a baked potato. The vegetable was soggy squash. I would say it is decent but nothing memorable.

We tried to stop by tonight with 6 people but was turned away because we did not have reservations! I counted 6 open tables and no wait in the lobby. We won't be back again.

I was debating 4 or 5 stars, and I'm erring on the side of awesome, because this place really was quite awesome. First of all, this was far classier than I expected for a place called both "Dusters" and "Gottberg Brew Pub." I was picturing something far more rustic. It was borderline fancy inside, though, but not pretentious in the least, so going casual was still okay. The menu looked decent, and I went with the two options that intrigued me the most. The first was a season specialty, the kale salad with pumpkin seeds, cranberry, and chorizo. This was incredibly delicious, and a very large plate for only 10 bucks! I'd recommend pairing this with the raspberry vinaigrette, as the sweetness plays off the cranberries very well, and tones down the spiciness of the chorizo. This was a well-composed and balanced dish. Second was the porkstrami on rye. I wasn't sure what to expect, but from the description, a 48-hour pork loin pastrami seemed too good to pass up. It was. So incredibly tasty! The pork stayed most, tender, juicy, and very flavorful throughout the entire sandwich. I was thoroughly impressed, and I would totally order this again! I opted for the beer cheese soup as my side, and also was not disappointed. Full of flavor, hot, creamy, but not too thick. For beverages, I hadn't been here before, so I went with the beer sampler. For a mere 5 bucks, you can try each of the 8 different beer options, plus the two sodas! Great bargain! I won't comment on each one, though, because my beer tastes are probably vastly different than yours. But they're all worth sampling, I'll say that much, and there is absolutely something for every palate. Overall, great meal, great experience, and definitely worth a return trip. I'm still not sure what the name of the place is, but I'll call it whatever they want if they keep serving the same foods and brews!

Not great not terrible. Just average and forgettable. I've had two different meals here. An appetizer and an artichoke pasta dish and none have been good.go get Mexican in Columbus instead.

Solid restaurant/pub. We were helping some people move in to their new place nearby, and decided to stop here for lunch. It's a surprisingly nice-looking place for Columbus, NE. Spacious seating, nice murals of Plains-related themes on the walls, and very friendly waiters and servers. They have Early Bird Specials for $11, and those come with soup or salad. I decided instead to get a pulled pork sandwich with fruit and a cream soda, which altogether came to about 10 bucks before tip. I did not expect them to put cole slaw inside the sandwich itself, but it was really good. Could have used more steak sauce, but good. The cream soda had an interesting taste, and was more red than golden brown, but maybe I'm just too used to the IBC Cream Soda. My girlfriend had the chicken salad croissant sandwich and fries. I asked her what she thought of her food on a 1- to 5-star scale, and she said it was about a 3. I agreed with that for my meal. The alcohol and desserts looked great, but since we were about to go move for several hours, decided against them. Maybe next time. I'll try and go here again if I'm in Columbus some time soon.

Love this place. Comfortable atmosphere and great food. I generally spend my time in the bar area located on the northeast side of the building (Gottberg Brewery). They brew their own beer and have seasonal beers in case your in the mood for something different. By far the best restaurant bar in Columbus

Big place. Surprisingly fancy when you walk in, but we went to the back where the bar is... Where you can see the brew tanks... Pretty cool! Beer cheese soup tastes like gravey... The server said she thought it was vegetarian, but I'm pretty sure there are chicken bits in it... Cory got the pesto fetuccini alfredo, which was actually some of the best fetuccini alfredo I've had in a long time. Overall, pretty okay food, very few vegetarian options, but a good experience...

Haven't spent enough time in Columbus, NE ( population 23k)... but I have a feeling this is the best prime rib and micro brewery in town! Staff was friendly, food was good, locals.. well friendly.. The beer...awesome!

This place is great! The owner converted an old car garage into a fabulous restaurant, bar, and brew pub. It has a gourmet chef who makes the most fabulous Sunday brunch and holiday buffets. I remember one time for Thanksgiving they had fresh seafood, buffalo roast, pork loin, great veges and breakfast items. The regular menu is wonderful also, as are their own brewed beers and a fantastic wine list. Great homemade desserts too. It's a great place just to have a drink. it has a wild Western mural and the bar has part of a Behlen building in it's decor. The owner is the guy who owns Dorothy Lynch Salad Dressing. Their French dressing has been my favorite since I was a kid.

One of the best full service restaraunts in town but I still have a hard time giving them 4 stars. They definately have some good menu choices but it seems like a lot of their food leaves something to be desired. I go to Dusters on a rare occassion but honestly if Dusters were in Omaha they would go out of business before they knew what hit them. Why? They can't compete with the big dogs in Omaha, but they have no problem staying in business in Columbus because there simply isn't any competition. That being said, there service is pretty good and the atmosphere is great. I do enjoy their own micro-brew of rootbeer and beer before the meal, but then leave disappointed with the food. Maybe it's because it looks like a 5 star restaraunt on the inside but the food is just a little above average quality. I have been told that their Sunday breakfast buffet is really good but I have yet to try that.

This appears to be a converted grain silo. Not there's anything wrong with that. Just sayin'. The ketchup and mustard bottles were kept well-filled, and the pickle was good and crunchy. Plus: free mint.

This is a really nice restaurant and pub in down town Columbus. Their menu is varied with nightly specials, the food is very good and always fresh. I know a couple of the cooks who work there and they love what they do. The brew pub is a great feature of the place. It's made out of a grain silo with steel walls, and old steel tractor seats at the bar. The beer selection is good, but I think they need to add a little more spice and flavor to their microbrews. In the summers, on the last Thursday of every month, Dusters hosts a cruise night for classic cars. Its always a good turn out; at these events they serve free rootbeer floats made with their home made rootbeer. Which is awesome. This is one to try out.
