I so not have any idea why the other review before me is 5 stars. If you've never had REAL Mexican, than I can see why. Very lackluster. My "quesadilla". Complete joke. See the pictures attached. No cheese whatsoever. Barely any meat. But lettuce. Lots and lots of lettuce. I order beef enchiladas. Magog chicken. Enough said. Wasn't good. Sauce tasted straight out of a can and bland. Pretty gross. Came home with it and added spices to make it palatable. Next. Burrito. Now. Wasn't a compete nightmare. But. Not very good. The presentation wasn't very appealing. Again, not very much meat. Overwhelmed with veggies. Had I ordered a vegetarian burrito, they would have nailed it. The tortilla was a bit oversized for the chef considering he is apparently short in meat for everything While waiting I looked over the scene at the restaurant. Pretty lame. If they just started up, I see that. But the heavy dust in the marguerites glasses speaks a different story. Their bar area is a refrigerator with beer in it. MY bar at home has a bigger fridge. So. While their sign says "now serving beer and wine", I would hardly want any there. I don't know if they are trying to save money in meat to make the rent. If they are, their in trouble. Still, not one Mexican joint in Minot is worth 1 minute of your time. It's best just to cook it yourself here. This place is horrible. ( maybe if I was hungover it would taste better. But. Doesn't everything?????)

Not impressed. The food was fast but it wasn't what I ordered. They are rude! They talk to you all nice and then talk crap about you in Spanish as they walk away I speak Spanish and got really annoyed at the comments they were making about their "guest" Never again!!

Husband and I are here after church today. I really enjoyed the chicken soup with avocado.. It was yummy. The salsa was odd... a strong hint of garlic in it. My husband's burrito looked alright. I have a complaint though... tortillas were not homemade! Real Mexican restaurants always have fresh homemade tortillas! My iced tea was also very watered down.

Chile Verde is a decent size restaurant located in the Medical building in Minot and looks as though it has the capacity to seat around 60 people. We went on a quiet Sunday afternoon and shared the space with one other table of people. The decor is nothing to boast about, the most notable being plastic table cloths with a strange country decor theme on them. I enjoyed sitting next to a window with a good view of the activity in the kitchen. We had the Chile Verde Enchilada plate and Chicken Enchiladas off of the a la carte menu. While we waited for our food we munched on seemingly home made chips sprinkled with some sort of chili seasoning accompanied by sauce. The chips were very good, however the sauce was nothing special and definitely did not have kick to it. The food arrived hot and quickly. The Chili Verde Enchiladas are made with corn tortillas (you have the option to have them made with flour tortillas if you wish) and have tender pork pieces mixed in with the Verde sauce. The entire dish is covered in (almost too much) cheese. I was kind of disappointed the Chile didn't have more spice to. It really didn't taste like it had any heat. I'm no fan of spicy food, but when I eat Mexican food, I expect at least a little kick, especially with a Verde sauce. There were 2 different types of hot sauce on the table to add to your food - tabasco and some sort of green sauce I wasn't sure about. Since I don't really like tabasco, I dug in without added spice. The Chile Verde Enchiladas had good flavor and consistent meat throughout the dish. It came with Spanish rice and re-fried beans, as well as shredded lettuce, a few diced tomatoes and a sour cream packet. The sour cream packet was a surprise, but whatever, it's sour cream. The two Chicken Enchiladas were served similar to the Chile Verde plate, but without the rice and beans. They were smothered in a decent red sauce, also without much heat. The chicken was moist and there seemed to be enough of it within the corn tortillas. Compared to the other Mexican food options in Minot, I'd say that Chile Verde offers authentic Mexican food, if not a little toned down on the seasoning. The prices were reasonable, paying around $3 each for the fresh made a la carte enchiladas is a steal. The service was attentive and thorough, though our waitress didn't seem to know what was in each dish when I asked. Overall, I'd say this place beats Paradiso food-wise, but comes in a close second to Mi Mexico. After trying other items on their menu, they may come in first! We'll have to see!

We walked in and weren't greeted so we stood there unsure on if to seat ourselves. Finally walked over to sit at a table and someone from behind the counter yelled that we could sit where we wanted. There were maybe three other tables seated in there so why they couldn't clean ours I don't know. The table also rocked back and forth every time anyone touched it. I mean this place just opened, you can't have tables that sit straight? The salsa was room temp so I questioned if it was refrigerated. The chips were cold and stale. I thought maybe it was just the first batch but the second batch was just as bad. Some of the chips were chewy! The food was not impressive. It was bland. If you think this is good Mexican food you've probably never been outta Minot. They didn't have alcohol. They didn't have the basic soda my friend wanted. Some of the employees were dressed so casually at first I wasn't sure if they worked there or what. I was SO excited for this place and was so disappointed after the experience. Based on it I can't even justify giving this place a second chance.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque.
