The food is good. Not horrible. But they call it fast food...it's not fast!!!! It's the slowest fast food restaurant I've ever had. And I've given them many chances. Took me ten minutes in the drive through last time.

Mediocre at best. The mini salt licks (tator tots) might be the best part, but then again, you could just shake salt directly into your mouth for the same result. None of the employees seemed like they enjoyed life in the least, and if the people paid to be there don't want to be there, why should I? I wonder what an actual Sonic is like, because there is no way our Fargo one is representative of the brand. Unfortunately for them, my first experience was the Fargo Sonic and it will likely be my last.

This location does not offer a military discount. All other Sonics that I've been to in other states give the discount, but not this one for whatever reason. In addition, they had slow service, our burgers were just warm at best, and the lady who took our order had an attitude. Disappointing this location is the only one close by and is giving a poor representation of other Sonic locations.

Horrible experience. If I were Sonic Corporate I would be pissed. They majorly screwed up our order and that of practically everyone else around us. Worse yet I made the mistake of using the restroom. The restroom was incredibly bad. Disgusting. Nope. Not happening again.

It's sonic. Not bad. Not good. A decent switch up if you're in a fast food mood. Service bordered on worthless (vacant eyes reminiscent of the movie Idiocracy) In all. Solidly meh Update 5/16/15...I originally included a photo of one of two tables taken up by idle employees playing on their phones seated at tables while customers waited for tables. He asked me to remove the photo and threatened some bogus legal action. I took it off mainly because I feel sorry that he did not see the customer service problem of taking up tables on his break while the customers (who keep the restaurant open )waited for tables to eat the food they purchased in the restaurant. After a back and forth with this individual, my original review was reinforced by his belief that there is nothing wrong with the mantra "the customer is obviously wrong when I'm on break". If he is still employed at this restaurant, I wish management luck keeping this place above water. If that's an ideal reinforced by management at this restaurant, I suspect that this location won't last long in Fargo. I give the food a 2.5 but why bother to go for mediocre food when this is customer service.

To be honest, I haven't been to the Sonic in Fargo. To be fair, there's no reason for me to go except for fun, cold drinks in the summer. And still, only during happy hour. This review is to warn Fargo how overhyped Sonic is. It's not terrible, but you weren't missing much before Sonic opened here. The food is the same quality as Dairy Queen, which is definitely not my first choice for lunch. 2 for 1 drinks on a 85° day is about all Sonic is good for. That's why there are 50 in each city in Texas (where I'm from), and 1 per 200-300 miles as you go north.

Tonight I finally took time to park and order drive in old style. Sonic, No where near as good as the old AW park N swine. While looking across the dirt of possible future business site watching bags and bags of trash blowing everywhere makes you understand way this style had its time but is gone. 3 of us and we spent 30 bucks. Burger was poor if done at 100% fries terrible shake alright way to thick and poorly mixed chocolate sitting at bottom malt power all at bottom. Left our spot drove to the trash cans! Oh here we go. Two large cans so overfilled no wonder cartons, bags, boxes, cups were doing flips, tumbles gymnastics as if on a mat! across vacant field so for that little money they do provide entertainment. Changes the value preceptive considerably. Really what's wrong with the picture? Truest soar eye of environmental atrocity there could be for the area. Well I gave em a try! Right across the street is 5 Guys Burgers). I'll get better food, service in a environment suitable for our fine town. Go to 5 Guys if I choose to from there I'll still be able to watch the shameful gymnastics show of trash! Help is need in simple cleaning maintence get a program ya know sell five car loads go get the trash repeat repeat repeat. Or the city should consider a fine program for Sonic if you would like to find me I'll be across the street at 5GUYS) the one star I gave this joint was a gift.

Anticipation has been building in me for...years...since the rumors of Fargo actually getting a Sonic started swirling. No longer are we annoyed with the constant barrage of advertisements with those two dudes in the car, taunting us with their fast food and delicious drinks, that we can't have! We chose the walk-up option as the drive-thru/in had an obscenely long line. The interior of the joint is very small, but cozy and "modern"(not just new, but also well done). The line actually went pretty fast and ordering was easy, as they handed out menus to people in line. Speed of service was good considering how insanely busy the place was. It took maybe ten minutes to get our order. The staff was very friendly even under the probably immense pressure of being brand new and extremely packed. The food itself was surprisingly good. I don't usually go to Sonic for the food, but everything was well done and fresh. Chicken was better than most fast food places. The fries, while being shoestrings had a little bit of seasoning to them, so they weren't just sloppily average potatoes. The tots were pretty okay as well. The drinks are the crown jewel of going to Sonic, I got a Cherry Limeade and it was quite awesome. I also tried the "Miami Sunrise", which while not for me, was full of flavor. Everything is also reasonably priced, even if you don't make it during "Happy Hour". A couple negatives... I swapped out the tots for Fries with my meal and I was given tots in the box. The manager was quick to rectify this situation however and all was well. Something about the location just stunk...literally. It had rained a bit the night before, which caused quite a smell in the outdoor seating area. Every few seconds a breeze would kick in and push a yucky, sewery, eggy smell in our direction. We originally planned to eat on the outdoor seating area, but as we were waiting for our food, we kept getting hit with a whiff of that and decided to hop in the car and go. Not Sonic's fault, but it sort of ruined the situation a bit lol.

It truly does pain me to have to write this review, but it must be done. Ever since my sister took my wife and I to our very first Sonic Drive-In, more than eight years ago down in Kansas City, we've been longing for the day when Fargo might get one. When it was finally announced that we would be getting a Sonic, we were overjoyed! Truthfully, had we known that what we would be getting is what we currently have, I could have waited another eight years for them to get it right. This place is an embarrassment to Sonic Drive-Ins across the country! They were not prepared in the slightest when they first opened, but the owner wanted to open when they said they were going to, despite the fact that they were severely understaffed, the employees that they did have were not well trained, and the place was still not physically completed until more than a month after they opened! This set them up for failure right off the bat, but things haven't improved there since Day 1! My wife and I waited more than a week after they had opened (thinking that things would be better, rather than experiencing a chaotic scene the first week), and I kind of wished we would've waited even longer than that. We went there around 3:00 in the afternoon, thinking it wouldn't be that busy, but we were wrong! They still had a wonky way of getting there (think two back roads with a couple of detour signs), and they were still sorely understaffed to meet their needs! After we had ordered our food, it took them nearly 20 minutes to bring it out to us, and my wife's Chocolate Cherry Coke had a good 1" of chocolate syrup on the bottom of the cup; disgusting! Best part: We both got food poisoning later that evening! I was gun shy about eating here again, but my wife convinced me to give it another try a couple of months later, so I did. This time, I decided to go through their drive-thru. When I got to the window to pay for my food, it sounded (and looked) like a rave party was going on inside! The young woman who took my money apologized for the noise (she must have seen the look on my face), and gave me our food. My wife's drink still had a lot of chocolate syrup in it, but not nearly as much as before; that's a good sign! I had a New York Dog with sauerkraut and grilled onions. Everything tasted ok (it did before, too), but when I went to brush my teeth about an hour later, I discovered that my entire tongue, and most of my teeth, were black! It's like someone had broke an ink pen in my mouth! The next morning, I wasn't feeling the greatest, but I still went into work and just had a stomachache the rest of the day. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.". What happens when I get fooled a third time? If the last two times there have taught me anything, I'm guessing a trip to the hospital! Pass on this place, and go experience Sonic at a location elsewhere from this one!

Couple of weeks ago my husband & I stopped here to try it out. The wait wasn't that bad and my husband enjoyed his meal but I went to take a bite out of my asiago chicken & it was RAW I called & spoke to the manager, who was pretty rude, and she just asked if she could get something else for me, I felt like saying "yeah cooked food" I was so grossed out it had me gagging the whole night thinking I could have eaten it I hope they fixed the situation.

Waited a week after their opening day to go due to the enormously long lines. Stopped at 1:10 pm on Sat 9/'6. Sign on side street entrance said 1/2 hour average time. Chose the drive through instead of stall or parking and going in. It took about 20 minutes to move up about 12 cars to the front of the line, then another 5 to get up to the speaker once they let you into the lot. I had been (for the first time) to the one in Sioux Falls 6 months ago, but took a couple minutes to see what they had and ordered. Tried to order two single 1/4 cheeseburgers ($3.99) and a large cherry slushy ($2.69). Total came to $14.27 !! Asked what was up with that and was told "oh, if you just want a plain burger without all the extras/toppings, those are $3.99". With tons in line behind me and waiting 25 mins already, wasn't going to argue. I said doesn't make sense, but whatever, fine with it. Display only read "2x SS Burgers $10.78" or something close to that. Pulled up and after 5 mins was second to the payment/pickup window and someone came out with them. Gave my card. Opened the burgers up while waiting, and found they were 1/2 pound DOUBLE cheeseburgers instead. Oh well, at least I got what I paid for, but not what I ordered. Of course, no straw for the slushy in it or in the bag. Customer in front left the window so I pulled up to relieve the stress from the double order stations a couple cars behind me wanting to merge. Girl at the window had no idea why I pulled up, and I had to ask her twice for a straw for my Slushy after telling her the other girl brought it out but still had my credit card. Finally the other girl handed back my receipt and card through the window, and we were off. 32 minutes total from pulling into the side street to getting back out, right on estimate. Can give 5 stars to the help they have from the Rotary club for traffic control, and 5 stars to the food. Can only give 3 stars to the current employees not knowing their products and giving mis-information and not understanding why you'd need a straw to drink a slushy. Overall for this visit, 4 stars. Oh yeah, the food: Burgers better than a McD burger, definitely more value, meat and taste than a Culvers burger. I still like 5 Guys better when close to the same price. The Cherry Slushy, well it tasted better than the ones at Sams but for about twice as much it should :)
