One of the better buffets in Fargo. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. The only issue with this place is that it needs some refurbishing and that doesn't take away from the good food.

Came back here after like a year, decided to try it again. Gave it 2 stars before. Much better than last time! Foods were all pretty good besides a couple things, with a decent variety. Nothing amazing though. Place seemed a little less dingy and the bathroom was actually clean this time around.

Great selection and excellent overall value. Recommended by hotel and stirred in right direction for all in traveling party were in the mood for Chinese. All favorites that you would expect from a Chinese buffet. Place was clean and service was very good in refilling drinks and clearing plates. Left restaurant feeling very satisfied and if ever back in the area will return.

Pretty standard as far as Chinese buffets go. One of the more notable things is that you pay BEFORE eating in contrast to the vast majority of buffets. The fish pond in front is a nice touch and the food is good. The quality is average and nothing to write home about, but you get your money's worth! I just wish there was a better variety of soups; they have egg drop and hot & sour soup but no wonton soup (a standard fixture).

Food-wise this place is pretty on par with Giant Panda, and is one of the better Chinese buffets in town. Where it excels is the decor, very much kitschy Chinatown, but it creates a fun atmosphere. Try sitting in the center, under the pagoda roof. Some of the dishes can be on the oily side, but that can be welcome after an evening of imbibing. Who doesn't love some greasy Chinese every now and again? Very much a guilty pleasure. The buffet has a pretty good assortment, and I love that they have butter shrimp (which you don't always see on buffets). Love the lo mein noodles, the General Tso's, and the wontons; they are my staples.

There is a decent selection here but not overwhelming everything was fresh and tasted great.

Wonderful selection of freshly cooked dishes. Unique decor and seating arrangement provides privacy and little noise from other diners.

All-you-can-eat buffet at an affordable price... can't beat that. It's a must I wear loose pants. (butterball problems!)

Ugh I don't get the hype with this place. Friends keep trying to drag me here.. promising awesomeness. Every time (during lunch and dinner hours, mind you), it's lukewarm, old food. Not much stays fresh. Even when they bring out the "new" stuff, it's far from hot and far from fresh. There is nothing amazing here. Add the sticky chairs and tables, and I'm done. They do have cute koi fish in the entry though.

What can I say -- Lived in Fargo for 25+ years and finally went to this buffet for the first time. Normally hang out outside of downtown (due to parking concerns) but after getting tired of a few of the cheaper Chinese buffets started to try some others late in 2013. We went to the King House on a weekday lunch just before Christmas. Definitely more 'authentic' decor than most of the buffets locally. Unique raised seating areas (careful with your head and your feet getting in and out), and the pond with bridge. For food; we were really surprised at the variety and most definitely a lot of the unique items never ever found at any of the other small or large buffets in town. Orange/Tangerine chicken was very good. The flavorings on most (but not all) of the dishes were definitely better than the typical midwest bland everyone seems to do--and much appreciated. Probably not fully authentic, but welcome anyway. The food was being frequently replenished; rarely was anything close to empty; and nothing was off the temperature it was supposed to be; hot was hot and cold was cold. My wife would have liked to have had a nice selection of Sushi as the buffet by Cash Wise in Moorhead excels at, but I was very happy with the cold and hot dishes and more unique choices offered here. We will definitely be returning.

Ever feel like you were whisked away to far east. Thats how I feel when I entered this restaurant. Very very oriental feeling and very grandeur interior design, definetely feel like eating at a chinese restaurant then eating at furniture shops like at super buffet. I have been delaying the review this place supposed to gets for a while. I dont know why,but this chinese buffet might be the very best in Fargo Moorhead area. I stumbles into this place by accident. It was a very cold night one evening and I am looking for a place to eat with my lovely girlfriend. We were stopping at the intersection on broadway and she said hey lets try to eat there, they have good lomein. Reluctantly I agreed. See, I am not a big fan of buffet and definetely not a chinese one at that. But I was absolutely taken aback. Their food and fresh and its absolutely great. Sure they lack of service and that you just pay the non smiling cashier and up you go! But for foods. They have very very good chinese food. If you havent try it before, then you absolutely should! Its a 5 star for me!

Ordered takeout on a Sunday night and wow, this was one of the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. The pepper beef came in a questionable red/brown sauce and the taste was horrible. Spoke to the guy in Chinese, hoping to get some decent non-Americanized Chinese food and it was anything but. The food came in a huge portion and I ate about 1/8 of it even though I was starving. I guess they don't have to worry about quality or standards since there are hardly any Asian restaurants in Fargo.

Descent tasting food. Nice variety. Only drawback is their food is prepared in quit a bit more oil than most other Chinese places.

I haven't been to King House in a couple years, but from what I've heard, it's still the same! I used to go to college in Moorhead, and King House was a regular place for me. I would make it out there at least once a month for their AWESOME buffet! Lots of choices - chicken with broccoli, sweet & sour chicken, shrimp & crab legs, general tsao's chicken, lo mein, white & fried rice, sushi, egg roles, won tons, sugar donuts, and SO MUCH MORE! I can't tell you how many places I've been and ordered general tsao's chicken - this place has the best I've ever had. Service is always pleasant - and once you've been there a couple times, you know the faces!

Local-legend King House Buffet is one of my guiltiest pleasures. Pretty much your standard Chinese buffet, but my favorite in Fargo. This place became host to many episodes of hangover-eating. Something about three-star Chinese food just makes you feel better. The restaurant itself is kind of cool with a center section of raised seating with a pagoda roof over it. Lots of little Chinatown bulk-purchase decorations everywhere. The place could use an update, but it's kind of cool as it is. There is a koi pond in the front and a little footbridge from the front cash register to where the buffet is. They have a soft-serve ice cream machine. Boom! Like I said, guilty pleasure, but one I'm sure I'll see again this month.
