It's a small town so there are a few restaurants that all the locals like to go to-this is one of them. They even got "Best Chinese in the County" one of the times I visited. I used to work there so I'm familiar with the "norm" there. Honestly, the food is pretty good for a Chinese buffet. I am Chinese so my standards are pretty high and I'm not a fan of american-chinese food, but there are quite a few dishes at Peking that I think is much better than most chinese buffets. First off, you're in the South so you have to get the sweet tea! It's SWEET and NOT watered down! I won't get any other sweet tea unless it's from Peking! The mongolian buffet is always a win because you adjust the ingredients to your taste. Also, it expanded since last time I've been. The crab meat cream cheese (Crab Rangoon) is great! I don't like cream cheese but these always win me over. I like how they have a little bit of a sweet taste and you can see the red speckles of crab in it. Most restaurants just put cream cheese or make it too salty. Egg rolls with duck sauce, all that needs to be said. Also, the mongolian chicken is different than most restaurants. I'm a fan of the dumplings (that dumpling sauce is one I still can't replicate!), the sesame chicken, the peking duck, braised tofu, and crawfish. The orange chicken and moo shu pork (off menu) are delicious! For dessert, almond cookies dipped in pudding (don't diss until you try it!), fried banana with vanilla ice cream, or just plain ice cream. They changed their vanilla mix so it's much better now. However, they do have frequent problems with the ice cream machine due to heavy usage...hopefully that doesn't happen when you're there... I brought friends from out of town there to try the food to see if maybe I was being biased, but everyone commented that the food was really good and got at least 3-4 platefuls. The family of the restaurant are really nice. I liked how when customers came in and saw the workers eating something else and asked about it the workers always gave them some too for free! Best times to go is anytime before 3pm and 4:30-8pm. The reason why is because the break before dinner and right before closing the food isn't as fresh, just like any other buffet. If you happen to go at an off time ordering off the menu is always great! That's what I would do when I was tired of the buffet. One plus-free refills on rice! They don't advertise that though ;D There is a new chinese place that opened up that incorrectly and unfairly badmouth about Peking which is the reason I felt a need to post something. Peking is one of the first chinese places to open in the area and I want to say kudos to the family that migrated from the war and put all they had into this restaurant. I don't want to see it go down!

Probably the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been too. All the food was so greasy that it was all you could taste, not only that but the meat was so dried out it was like chicken splinters. Never eating there again, and definitely would not recommend it to anyone.

The food was good, not great but good. It was a great value though. Plenty to choose from on buffet and Mongolian BBQ for just 11.25

Nothing to write home about. Tempura vegetables were stale. Ice cream machine didn't work.

Stay Away! I have given them two opportunities and have had a bad experience both times. The first time I had the buffet and the second time I got something to go. The pans on the buffet were mostly empty and they were not going to refill until other items were gone. The food was not very good. I knew I would not get the buffet again but I thought maybe they would do better if they cooked something to order. Well, they do not cook food to order on "to go's" they get it off of the buffet. This time my food was terrible. The restaurant is also not clean. Since I am a former restaurant owner I thought the owner of the restaurant would like to know what his employees are doing to give him a chance to improve. He was extremely rude to me and defended his staff and gave excuses for his lack of cleanliness. The thought of eating there again nauseates me.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
