I really like this place. It's in an old converted garage type of building with a simple but attractive interior. Very open layout but still has a cozy and casual feeling. Nothing pretentious here, which is how I like it. They have a nice beer selection, which is located on individual clipboards to the left of the bar. One really shouldn't expect a gourmet dining experience at this place as it is a more a pub-ish atmosphere, but their food is good. You can get a couple street tacos, a side of sauteed kale and a beer for right around $10. No complaints there. The staff is friendly and personable, and they always seem to have plenty of people working the place so people aren't waiting forever. I am and will continue to be a repeat customer.

We tried it March 11 and loved the food, which was creative, tasty, and affordable. The dining room was open and casual. There are a couple of pool tables, a plus. The best part of the evening by far was the server, who was welcoming and very helpful with suggestions and explanations. Will definitely come back.

Don't let the lack of decent parking stop you from going to WALK. While it maybe difficult to find a good spot, checking out WALK is worth the trouble. In an very open and breathtaking space, WALK packs a culinary and social punch with lots of tables in the front dining space, high bar tables in the bar area, a fun game section and a beautiful bar. Note the beer selection is handwritten in big, clear handwriting on individual clipboards beside the bar. A+++++ The decor is fun and understated (just check out how they've hung lights from the ceiling), with a bright artsy back wall, and neat decor throughout. Tried their fried pickles which were spears (as opposed to chips or small slices), really good except that with spears it's easier for the breading to fall off. No worries, we managed to gobble them right up with the spicy dip. Also tried their mini cupcakes, b/c well...why not, just another example of some of the different items you'll see on their creative menu. Drinks were great and service was attentive. Will definitely be back!

WALK is great. Parking is difficult and it's not exactly on the same par as The Admiral's food, but the presentation is great and the service is excellent. In addition to its price point, WALK actually has a one-up on The Admiral insofar as it is more vegetarian-friendly. I'd say WALK is great for lunch or a weeknight dinner (or early, intentionally laidback weekend dinner).

Taco Tuesdays amazing beef tacos on crispy shell for $1.50. My partner and I ate 9! Had a cold Torpedo beer with them. Wait staff is great, atmosphere fun.

Loving the new Walk in West Asheville!! Great place to meet up with your friends and grab a drink. Super excited to see more and more awesome new businesses in this area. You can definitely make a day of exploring this hipster side of town!

Went again a few weeks ago and the food was much improved. They seemed to have simplified their menu and what we ordered was very good.

Casual, inexpensive, very good food. Beans and rice dish for $5 was really good as were the sweet potato tots. Mac and cheese was not so good.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday. The service was excellent as well as the food. I had the Shrimp Po-boy which was perfectly prepared. My wife and daughter both enjoyed different specials. My wife had the teriyaki chicken wrap and my daughter had the salmon burger. Again, both were perfectly prepared. Nice open space with a laid back vibe. Looking forward to our next visit!

Awesome atmosphere with friendly wait staff. It's a seat yourself place but that seems to work out here. Food was very fast. I had the Mac and cheese burger which was pretty good. The Mac and cheese had good flavour and the burger was good. Be prepared for some messy eating! Gf had the carribran pork sandwich which was ok. It seemed to be missing something but couldn't exactly put our fingers on it...maybe a little more kick/spice. The wings were great. We got the bbq habanero. The sides that we got were the sweet potato tots...these were amazing! Highly recommended. Overall good food and good prices with awesome wait staff.

So Taco Tuesday is the reason I hit this place up every now and then. Taco Tuesday Night is the $1.50 per taco, so order a few and a beer and you have a very affordable meal. They have a pool table and plenty of tables as well as a nice long bar. Staff is friendly and good about refilling your glass of beer. Parking can be a challenge as it is all street parking and at certain nights the Admiral patrons can have it so folks are walking a bit to get to this establishment, but not a big deal.

I've been to WALK a few times now including opening day. The transformation of the space is incredible. They ripped out the bathrooms that used to be in the very front when it was Rocket Club and now there are big windows, which makes the space feel open and airy instead of cavernous. The menu has your standard pub fair: nachos, tacos, burgers, chicken sandwiches, but often with an unexpected twist. The veggie burger is one of my favorite dishes. It's not really formed into a patty, but is a delicious pile inside of warm naan. Most of the sandwiches are cheaply prices around $6 and you can add fries or sweet potato tots (nom nom) for a buck and salad or some awesome mac & cheese for 2 bucks. The service is very good and the wait staff is attentive. It seems like the kitchen is a little slow when it's busy, but not enough to detract from the dining experience. They are also really good about combining tables, splitting checks, and not yelling when kids are running around everywhere. Overall a great place that we'll go to often for a casual lunch or dinner.

I never write reviews. After spending a week in Asheville I feel compelled to do so. After a long day of working me and my crew needed somewhere comfortable that we could have a solid meal. WALK provided just that. This was my second time here and I am already looking forward to returning to Asheville and WALK will be a regular stop for me. Food is comforting and complex and our Server, Brett was like an old friend and when my wife left her hand bag in the restaurant, Brett sprinted down the street to make sure we didn't leave without it.

. If you're looking for a terrific meal out, don't go to Walk (but do hit the Admiral across the street), but if you want upscale bar food with a nice atmosphere, great prices, and a good draft selection, give the Walk a try. In a city overrun with good restaurants, there were a surprising lack of places to find a good burger, a good chicken sandwich, a good salad and a good atmosphere. It was really the Universal Joint....and....well, that was it. Then came the Walk--it's got a much smaller menu than the UJ, but the specials are a lot more interesting and the atmosphere is much more open. A great addition to the Asheville scene and my new favorite place to hit for a good, cheap meal, and a good draft.

Nice Addition to West Asheville...especially the end of Haywood with the admiral (just across the street), Battlecat, and Harvest Records. Really cool space, great selection of craft beers. It's a good bar but not a great restauarant. Food is only ok and menu just doesn't excite. But I'd eat there to be there... If that makes sense. Does it?

Third visit, and as the other visits, was very happy with my dish, as well as everyone at my table was too. Great food and wonderful service.

Food was great, service was fantastic, and vibe was very comfortable. I will defiantly eat there again and would recommend others to do the same. The burger was great! It was cooked perfectly and had a bunch of bacon. The wings are fantastic as well got the hot wings and they were just right.
