This place was incredibly good. My girlfriend and I came to Asheville for a mini getaway from Greenville, and we heard amazing reviews on it so we decided to give it a go. I ordered the carnitas enchiladas and my girlfriend ordered a Tempeh burrito. She wasn't a fan of the tempeh so the Waiter payed for her meal. The food was great and the service was great. We'll be coming back for sure!

Not really what we were expecting. The margarita was okay. No spice, at all! Even the salsa was mild:-( Service however was top notch!!! Probably won't return.

The service was great! We got everything really quickly and it tasted great. My only disappointment was with the rice. Check in here with yelp and receive 10% off your bill!

Got a run of the mill ground beef burrito, with rice and refried beans. It was quite delicious. The ingredients seem to be of a top quality. The queso sauce on the burrito was very good. Server was prompt and attentive. Even though we just stopped by on a whim, before getting on the road, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

This is more than your average Mexican joint. Very nicely decorated interior -believe it or not we were told it was formerly a bowling alley! It was rustic and felt authentic- I fell in love with the Monkey chandelier! We had a large party and were seated immediately. They had a wonderful selection of dishes on the menu as well as several fresh margarita choices ( no pre made syrupy mix here!!) The more I looked the harder it was to choose. I settled on the fajitas and I was not disappointed- delicious and very ample portion. Everyone raved about the taste of their meals and some even wanted to return for dinner that very night. A great lunch experience!

I ordered loco chicken tacos with Spanish rice and cole slaw w lime , all the items were very good. My wife ordered Biltmore chicken quesadillas, tastiest quesadillas ever, sides were good too. Thanks to the waitress Bethany, you were very friendly and informative !!!

We are visiting from out of town and came to Cantina tonight. It was fantastic. I don't recall what our waiter's name was, but the poor guy had thrown out his back, was working a double, and couldn't have been nicer about still being at work. Anyway, I had a mango margarita and it was delicious. My Cozumel tacos with cilantro crema in the side were soooo good, and my husband really likes his carnitas tacos too. I had the coconut rice and the corn and black bean salad as my sides. I'd totally get the corn and black bean salad every day again. The coconut rice didn't taste at all like coconut, but maybe it was just a bad day today. My husband had the cayenne-honey roasted brussel sprouts and roasted seasonal root vegetables as his sides- both equally yummy. Next time I visit I'll definitely be back!

This Mexican place stands out for its friendly staff, great flavors and use of fresh, local produce. I highly recommend their side of kale and/or the charro beans. The pork carnitas enchiladas were excellent. The one area where the restaurant could use some work were their free salsas. They were watery and not particularly flavorful. Otherwise I give it my highest rating as someplace to which I would happily return repeatedly.

This was the best Mexican food I've ever had. It is a beautiful restaurant with warm and friendly servers. Our server, Ellen was excellent!

Happy for nice patio area to sit outside with regal royal pooch. Happy for varied menu with unexpected choices, such as coconut rice and Mexican corn bread. Not happy for rambunctious children at each table at 3:00 on a Monday. So annoying. Why are they out now? Not happy for average food served. It was *good*, simply not stellar. Wait staff is A++ however. Kinda bummed I used one of my dining choices in this wonderful culinary city of Asheville on only a so so place. I tried to go elsewhere but it closed at 3 and I was famished, so went to the next closest place.

Great place. Kid friendly. The fish tacos with mango salsa were amazing. My husband ordered the Cozumel tacos and he really liked them. Our waitress Mary was very friendly and gave us great suggestions

I would like to give the Cantina more stars but for the fact that I couldn't eat my meal, I just can't justify it. My husband and I went there after visiting the Biltmore and were promptly asked for our drink order. We were then given chips and salsa with some great salsa verde. I ordered the simply grilled chicken tacos with rice and beans while my husband ordered the grilled fish tacos with refried beans. It didn't take too long for the food to come out which was great, that's where the fun for me stopped. When I ordered the tacos, I was expecting simply grilled, aka just chicken and maybe some lettuce and the cream sauce. Instead what came out was diced chicken with a bunch of peppers and spices with a handful of cheese. I was A-OK with all the cheese but the fact that there were a bunch of peppers, which I don't like and didn't want. I wasn't happy. Needless to say, I gave it a try and almost instantly my mouth was on fire. Now I'm one that is overly sensitive to spicy foods - sometimes cracked pepper is spicy to me - so this kind of put me over the edge. One pink lemonade, one water, and the rest of the chips later, my mouth was still on fire. Even my husband thought it was spicy and likes spicy food. I ate the rest of his fish taco which was pretty good and my rice, also good. I would suggest that the restaurant be clear on what actually comes on the menu items than being pretty vague.

Stuffed avocado was delicious, and the kale exceeded my expectation. Matt was a helpful and polite server and service was very fast.

My martinis tasted watered down, and I had two so I should have felt a nice buzz, but I didn't. Guacomole is made in house, but had the consistency that a filler was added. The mexi rolls were great! Really tasty and cooked perfectly. Didn't rock my world enough to make a second reservation. Overpriced.

Great Fish Tacos. Sides of Lime Slaw, roasted root vegetables and Mexican cornbread were the sides. My Love and split the meal. Service outside was excellent too. NEONBNC

Excellent dining experience. The staff was friendly. The food was absolutely delicious! The plates were huge. I will definitely be coming back!

My mom and I went to Cantina on a whim for lunch the other day for the first time. We're very happy we found this place! All of the portions were HUGE, so ask before ordering unless you plan on taking home the rest. She a had glass of red the waitress recommended with the stuffed avocado with chicken appetizer and added a side of chili-lime slaw, all of which she really liked. I ordered "the Gala" margarita on the rocks with a half pork carnitas quesadilla with the roasted seasonal root vegetables. You can order two sides, but one is is definitely enough for lunch! The margarita was perfect, but the quesadilla was astoundingly good. Slightly crispy, seasoned perfectly, and the cheese or the cilantro creama dipping sauce compliment the meat rather than soaking it. The root vegetables were a soft combo of sweet potato, squash, and rutabagas with rosemary and brown sugar that I can only describe as a heavenly disguise I will come back for again and again! A little pricey overall, since the lunch and dinner menu are the same, but you won't leave hungry and the quality of the food is worth it! Not your typical Texmex meal!

  • L R.

Awful. We got there shortly after they opened for lunch on a Saturday so I am not sure how both mine and my husband's meals came out cold. We didn't get our queso until our dinner came out. Overheard hostess laughing about how she'd only gotten two hours sleep. My side Of grilled vegetables was caramelized onions and regular onions.. almost nothing else.

  • Jennifer L.

This place is awesome! The prices are average for the Biltmore area, but they give you a great quantity and the quality is among the best! Guacamole, green salsa, burritos and fried ice cream are all AWESOME! They have quite a few beers on tap. You can smell the food in the street, and it tastes as good as it smells! Highly recommend this place.

Always a good experience here whenever we are in town. Excellent queso dip combinations! Wait staff is super friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly.

  • Mike B.

The worst meal I have had in years. The sauces for the chips were tasteless. The Deep fried Chimichanga was doughy inside and the fish inside was so bland you couldn't even identify it as fish. Everything was spicy, but with no taste. I had only 3 bites of my dish, but no one ask me how my meal was. It would have been clear to anyone that I did not enjoy, but I am sure they already knew the answer. This was my 1st and last visit .

  • Art C.

Well, looks like I'm in the minority, but this place has REALLY gone downhill since we first ate there 22 years ago when it was, I think, called La Paz! I tried Paella for the first time (and the last, I'm afraid) and there were some sea creatures in it that I couldn't identify and would not even dare EAT! My wife had fish tacos that were totally tasteless (I mean, how can you make a tasteless taco?) and lacked any semblance of seasoning. If you're looking for Mexican, don't waste your money here, try a known quantity, like Moe's about a mile away.

  • Amy T.

The food was great and the staff was super friendly . We had the chicken tacos that were just the right spice and the salads were fresh and tasty . I'm visiting from FL but would d

Best Mexican I have had in a long time. Order the unique sides. You won't be disappointed.

  • Jennifer L.

The food was great! They did a nice job accommodating a gluten and dairy allergy and Tyler had super customer service! When you go, ask for him. The corn tacos are fabulous, the guacamole was good, really liked the black bean and corn salsa. The refried black beans lacked flavor but the refried pintos were good. The Biltmore quesadilla was great! I had it on corn and loved it!!!

  • Colin L.

The service was great. The chips and salsa were fresh and delicious. I had the chicken tacos with the Brussels sprouts as a side and they were both very good. This was our second time here, I will be back.

Amazing food and service. This place is packed and so warm and cozy. I would recommend the chorizo relleno, the pork carnita quesadilla, & the pitcher of the hornitas margaritas.. Great family fun.

  • Ken H.

My Cozumel Tacos were delicious! Everything is fresh and tasty! Tortilla soup excellent. Service was quick and attentive. Good place to eat with the family after a Biltmore Estate visit. My daughter said her burrito was the best she's ever had.

We were in town for 4 days for a family reunion. Wandered into The Cantina as we were checking out Biltmore Village the first day. Ended up eating there 3 times, all different menu items. Not typical Mexican. Choice of two delicious side dishes. The pickled kale was excellent the first meal. A bit inconsistent the 2nd and 3rd times, but nary a leaf wasted. The staff was very friendly. Even pointed out that for our group the tip was already included on the tab. And, my favorite, was our wonder waitress on the 3rd meal who I asked to take photo's of us around the table as we talked and ate. She went out of her way to take great and memorable photos. Recommended.

Expensive ($16 for lunch for one person), average Mexican food. Ordered chicken fajitas to go from the bar. The bartender was ignoring me so I got a menu from a waitress. About a minute later the bartender came over and hovered over me until I ordered. I ended up ordering just one meal instead of two just so I wouldn't have to have her hover near me any longer. Got back to the hotel room and there were no tortillas for the fajitas. Maybe the table service is better. UPDATE: Had this at 2 stars. Dropping it to 1. There was very little chicken in the fajitas and it was loaded with squash(???) WTF? Squash in fajitas? The salsa was bland. The "mexican rice" was oily.

The food was awesome, and our server was wonderful. We had a party of 9 (4 of whom were kids 5 and under) and they were super accommodating. The side dishes alone were incredible - best Brussel sprouts I've ever had. I highly recommend it!

    (4)
  • Ty H.

Food was fairly good except for the pickled Kale that 2 of us got. It was a lettuce like dish that didn't resemble kale at all. I was hoping for something really good with the name pickled Kale.

High quality Mexican food. Tastes fresh and ever dish had lots of different flavors. We will return.

    (5)
  • Christina S.

Pretty good Mexican. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options clearly labeled. They donate any skipped sides to the food bank which is great. Prices are slightly steep or I would give a higher rating. Great for brunch!

    (4)
  • Barry Y.

Why would a quality restaurant like this, which serves great food by the way, make house Margarita's with absolutely no tequila? Maybe it is because most of their patrons are tourists who will not be back? In any case, not a good showing so order some dinner and ask for water or a beer. If the owner or manager reads these reviews you may want to consider giving your customers what they paid for when they order a drink. Really!!

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It's rare that I want to rate a place 6 stars, but if I could, The Cantina definitely deserves it. We went on a Thursday evening in the "off season", after school had begun, but before the leaves started turning. We were greeted by a young, friendly hostess, who knew immediately which table would be perfect for us. Shortly after sitting down, our waiter showed up and greeted us with a smile, answered a few questions, recommended drinks, and took our beverage order. While we sipped on a great local beer and a house margarita, we perused the varied menu of sophisticated neo-Mexican dishes, and found many that sounded absolutely delicious. We settled on a shrimp chimi and a steak chimi, each with one side, opting to donate the other side to charity (which I have never encountered in a restaurant before, and wish more restaurants did). We had selected the stuffed avocado as an appetizer, and it was better than imagined. The only downside was an avocado that was just a day or two from being fully ripe. While we dug in, a local guitarist set up and started playing his soft renditions of various pop, rock, and classic hits. When the entrees arrived, we were treated to some of the tastiest dishes we've ever had the pleasure of eating. The sides were fresh and flavorful, and my only regret was neglecting to have them hold the sour cream, as I have never been a fan. For dessert, we took home a slice of their key lime pie, and wish that we would have brought home an entire pie! If their recipe ever falls into my hands.. There just isn't enough room on here to praise the restaurant and staff high enough. Don't miss out on a great meal at The Cantina!

This is gourmet Mexican food, not your ordinary taco shop. The wait staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The menu is unique with choices of sides and some different selections (such as stuffed avocado). I'm looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu.

The Cantina at Biltmore has become one of my fave spots to go in the Asheville area for Tex-Mex food, great Margaritas, lunch and dinner meetings, rooms to hold private gatherings, wonderful staff... and all in an awesome location right in the heart of the Village near the Biltmore Estate.

I liked the atmosphere here, but didn't feel the food was all it was hyped to be. We had the carnita burritos that were pretty flavorless. The queso looked promising, but was nothing special. On the up side, the margaritas were very good (we got the top shelf variety). Good local choice, but I've had better.

Tried for first time last week and thought it was very good! I had steak fajitas which were very tasty. My partner's meal came out wrong and the manager brought out the correct meal, apologized, and comped her dinner, which was very nice. Margaritas and salsa both good. Didn't care so much for our server but he was adequate. Will definitely try Cantina again!

We were staying at the Grand Bohemian, and walked here for dinner. My husband and I were both starving, so we opted for 2 appetizers AND 2 entrees AND 2 beers. We ordered the stuffed grilled avocados and plantains for appetizers. Both were divine. The plantains are sweet, I'll get those for dessert next time. We both got taco dinners, and the food was SO flavorful. I will definitely return to this restaurant when I visit Asheville again!

Cantina was an absolute treat after a long rainy day at the Biltmore. Conveniently located near the Double-Tree where we were staying. Best frozen margarita I've ever had!!! Husband had the pork carnitas burrito which was alright, not great. The beef burrito was phenomenal, as were the two different salsas. I will definitely return on my next visit to Asheville!

Total disaster, the only thing that went right was we got the booth we wanted. Ordered drinks, not sure what planet they were coming from but they took well over 15 minutes and there was no one sitting at the bar. Ordered food, that took over 20 min. To be honest I wish it would never had come. There were 4 of us to start with, one look at the food the other couple paid their bar tab and left. We stuck it out, wish we hadn't, if this had not been a first date I'd have been gone. My meal was suppose to be chicken enchiladas with a side of watermelon salad and black beans and corn salad. The enchiladas tasted like 3 day old fish, the watermelon salad tasted like it had sat out all day, and the final side they ran out of. Instead of informing me of this they threw at me some mushy beans instead of asking what I wanted to substitute. I ate very little of my meal and picked at my dates shrimp. He was OK with his meal. Now to pay the bill and escape this nightmare, not so easy. Finally got the check, put a credit card with it, place is near empty by now, no waitress, we wait and wait, and wait some more. Finally take check to front desk, gal there gets our waitress to ring us out. In 9 years of living in this town, this was overall the worst dining experience ever.

Best place in Asheville for fresh, delicious Mexican cuisine. The food is amazing and original without being weird or pretentious. So different from your run of the mill Mexican. Great energy, ambiance and staff, never had a boring server, never had a bad experience. I love the "donate you side" charity they promote (the option of donating one or both of your side dishes to feed the hungry in our community). One of my favorite restaurants in town.

I stopped by The Cantina Biltmore to order some food at the bar for my wife and mother-in-law. I ended up ordering the beef quesadilla, the chicken tortilla soup and the roasted poblano soup. After placing my order, I decided to order a margarita since it was Labor Day, and celebrating a paid day off warranted a drink before walking back to our hotel. :-) I scanned the menu and was looking at the specialty margaritas as they were half price off. I asked the bartender what she would recommend, and she suggested a "top shelf" margarita and said they were the best. The guy sitting next to me endorsed the drink as he was sipping on one and mentioned they were strong. Turns out the top shelf margarita was great! My wife and mother-in-law also enjoyed their soups and beef quesadilla :-) The restaurant had a cool vibe and I would definitely visit again when I am in Asheville.

We came for the fun and hopping patio. It seats a lot of people and has cute twinkle lights which makes for a fun and chill summer atmosphere. The menu is your standard Mexican food and although I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had, it was definitely tasty! I ordered the Carnita Quesadilla and enjoyed the mango slaw that I got to mix with it. The portions large and it was awesome having leftovers. The sangria looked incredible as well and came in large glasses. Our server was super friendly and she even brought out a bowl of water for a table who had brought their dog. So kind! Coolest thing though? For most of the meals, you have the option to choose two sides, but you also can choose to donate one of them to the Manna Food Center (fights hunger). They also have a cool fact in the menu that says one side is enough to serve as six meals for someone (price wise). Pretty cool!

Great for just about any occasion. Cozy booths, high tops, patio seating... great ambience. Ingredients are fresh, menu is electic with something for everyone and they have an amazing brunch menu as well... an let's not forget the margaritas... perfecto! The last time I went I had the breakfast bowl with steak, avacado, pico and more.

We visited for Sunday Brunch for the first time. My wife had the romaine salad with salmon and I had the huevos rancheros with chorizo. Both dishes were delicious and I would recommend both. It's a great place to visit and we will definitely be coming back. Well done!

Lovely! Staff was very friendly and the food was very nice! My child said some things were a bit too spicy but I love it. I ordered the fried plantains and the salmon salad with mango. She got the seafood burrito and devoured it! We were so full and had no room for dessert, their potion size is larger than most places so come hungry.

Although The Cantina is a tourist trap, I was a tourist in Biltmore Village and I was hungry. Plus, there were only a couple options on a Sunday around 11 am. The hostess seemed pretty out of it, but we were seated quickly. Our server was awesome and rushed to put our order in before a table of about 20 was getting their order in, and I really appreciate a server who knows the kitchen is about to be backed up. We ordered a few apps and we were pretty happy for the most part. The stuffed, grilled avocados were delicious. The nachos were good, too, but they serve them on a half piece of a broken taco shell, so there was roughly 6 large nachos, rather than the typical pile of chips. The part that caught us off guard, is that we ordered 2 shots of Cabo Wabo as we were celebrating and we didn't think much about the cost. I mean, how much could 2 shots of Sammy Hagar's tequila really cost. Patron shots usually run around $10 in most, upscale places. When we got the bill, it was $14...per shot. That is completely insane. I know they cater to tourists, but that's freaking Miami prices...and this isn't Miami. On top of that, when I checked it on Yelp, there was a 10% off ENTIRE BILL coupon. It clearly stated entire bill and I saw no mention of food only, but when the bill came, besides half of it being 2 shots, only 10% was taken off for the food, so we saved a whopping $2.50. We come to Asheville often, and despite the food being good, we'll just skip this place next time we're close.

The host stand needs improvement. The two girls working were somewhat friendly to begin with, but not much assistance nor words were exchanged after being greeted. Our party of 7, plus 1 high chair waited about 15 minutes to be seated and the two girls were not verbal about how long we would be waiting nor did they walk us to our table.. they just pointed. Our waiter, Nate, was good. He handled my seafood allergy with care and was attentive with refilling our drinks. I ordered the half shredded beef quesadilla with cayenne honey roasted brussel sprouts and Mexican rice ($12.99). The beef was tender with a kick to it; the Mexican rice was mediocre (nothing special, but not bad); the brussel sprouts were also tossed with pumpkin seeds and I loved them. Definitely order that side if you wanna try something new.

This is by far one of our absolute favorite Tex Mex restaurants. We had been to this place a few years ago when it was called La Paz, and it was great then too. They kept the same decor and great food, and added in even better service, with some of the friendliest staff ever. Not only are the wait staff friendly, they know the menu backwards and forward, and make great recommendations. They suggested the Mexican style macaroni and cheese as a side dish, and while we didn't think it sounded very Tex Mex, it was absolutely incredible. The coconut rice was also good, and the mango shrimp tacos were amazing. We liked how they brought the chips and salsa out right away, and the atmosphere was upbeat, with a really warm and fun feel. They have outdoor seating, a small bar area, and plenty of tables and booths for even the largest of groups. Parking is limited in the Biltmore Village area, and the wait can be long if you come on a weekend night, but it's well worth it.

The Sunday Brunch is unbelievable. Who would have thought Mexican and South West could be created into a delicious brunch. What creativity. Must have the South West Eggs Benedict. Very Awesome! Never thought these flavors would work. What happens is a fiesta of culinary creativity. Thank you to the enthused and professional staff too. Awesome Brunch!

My family stopped here after visiting Biltmore at the recommendation of a friend. It was delicious! I had the shrimp pineapple tacos - I highly recommend! The restaurant has a wonderful charitable program by which you can pass on a side and they will donate food to charity. I promise you won't miss that side. The food is plentiful and tasty!

I guess we suffer from second time syndrome. We brought friends here on a Saturday evening. It took 1/2 hour to be seated outside, when there were plenty of empty, uncleaned tables on the patio. The two hostesses seemed rather clueless and uncaring. The girls at the bar were terrific and friendly. Our server, Elora got to us quickly when we were finally seated, but her demeanor was aloof, unfriendly and not engaging in the least. The four of us eat plant-based and our first time at The Cantina, we were accommodated well with tempeh. We didn't see it on the menu, so we had to ask. Our server had to go ask the kitchen before taking all of our orders. We got through the ordering process and Elora was elusive. A tall, slender woman (perhaps a manager) came to our table to make sure we were getting just what we wanted and she was great! The food came out rather quickly and it was good, but not outstanding. We don't figure The Cantina will be at the top of our minds again when we want Mexican food. We applaud them for offering the 'sides donation' section in their menu.

Service was great, great day to sit on the patio and enjoy lunch. Food was good and plenty to eat, for me it lacked something, I think heat. Yes I will eat here again but I don't think I will be craving it

You can tell the food at this place is executed well, but if you don't like cilantro and/or onions, you'd be best to just not bother trying here. Basically everything on the menu is covered in one or both of these horrific ingredients. I managed to find some beef taquitos on the menu that were very very tasty, but even my soup was loaded with cilantro.

I am in town from Seattle, looking for some good grub... Cantina was 1/4 mile from hotel - perfect! Delicious meal overall... I'd give the margaritas a low rating, C+ at best... but the food was awesome. I had Cozumel Tacos - one shrimp and one steak - delicious! We need to put bacon in tacos more often. Tequila flight for dessert - excellent - should have gone this way from the beginning. Overall great meal.

  • Meredith D.

Not thrilled, for the price the quality was poor. The queso was inventive, but the taco and borrito was not that exciting. Rice was dry bc of being placed under the salamander to long. Our server was nice.

Locally sourced ingredients with a great spirit to helping the community. Just 'donate' your side - that we don't really need to eat - and the money will go to help those in need. Great taco' and the flight of tequila was very tasty.

Traveling with a toddler, so loved the kid friendliness of this restaurant (the table cloths were paper and came with crayons). It was also less than a 1/2 mile from our hotel which was a definite plus. That being said the food was just ok. The chicken fajitas weren't very flavorful and I found it just a little bit odd that shredded cheddar cheese was on the side plate next to guacamole, pico and sour cream. I did enjoy the skinny margarita and found it to be the perfect size. All in all I wish I would have scrolled through a little longer on Yelp to find a more authentic Mexican place.

The food here was exceptional! I had the Cozumel tacos, one with pork and one with chicken. The coconut rice was good. My wife loved her fajitas; way more than she could eat. The cornbread thing was tasty, also. The reason I didn't give five stars was the service. Our servant was absent. One round of drinks at the initial sit down. Second drink after the food came. Needed a manager to get a third. Had to ask for any kind of refill: chips, drinks, salsa, etc. Attentive service would have made it perfect.

Very good enchiladas. The coconut rice and lime claw really complete the dish.

My friend and I took a girlfriend of ours to Cantina for her Birthday since we wanted Mexican and wanted to do something outside of downtown. We shared a pitcher (or two) of the Classic Margaritas which were good and we had a really great waitress in the bar area. I ordered the Fish Taco which was A-OK. Neither the food of the place blew me away but I can imagine it being a really great spot if you sat on the patio, unfortunately for us it was raining. Absolutely willing to give it another try though. :)

We came in for a late dinner with a whole group of picky eaters. The server was very patient and accommodating. Service was great and the food was awesome. I recommend the Skinny 'Rita, the stuffed avocado and the kale side. I would come back.

For tourists who visit the Biltmore, this is a convenient and mid-priced place to grab a bite to eat. Their program of donating a side dish to Manna Food Bank is laudable, and I've certainly had worse food and service in other establishments. That being said, with so many other Mexican food options in town, after today's experience (my first ever in this restaurant), I can't see myself returning. Though the hostess and waiter were pleasant, there was nothing outstanding about either of them or the service they provided. Still, I was excited at the opportunity for fresh chips, tasty salsa, and an order of guacamole. Unfortunately, my excitement didn't last beyond the first bite. A basket of bland chips that tasted as though they were from a generic bag was accompanied by salsa containing plenty of heat, but very little flavor or subtlety. Still, the prospect of guacamole kept me hopeful. At least it did until the guacamole actually arrived. One taste confirmed my visual assessment: slightly runny, staggeringly mediocre guacamole-type substance that contained the consistency of something squeezed from a tube. The only way in which it resembled guacamole was it's color. Needless to say, we sent it back. While my dining companion claimed to enjoy her fish tacos, I braved the standard grilled soft tacos - one chicken, one steak - because how can you go wrong with that? Trust me - they found a way. Their focus again seemed to be on heat and not flavor. Also, the chicken was clearly pre-formed and the dishes came out far too quickly to have been crafted well. I was hungry and grateful for the lunch, but next time I'll save the 12 bucks and dine at one of the other options in town.

So I gave them 5 stars because my hubby said it was the best burrito he has ever had! Lol. Wish I got our servers name! He was pretty great. Wonderful recommendations and really likes the food he serves! My tacos were awesome! Very filling! You get to choose two sides and the brussels were my favorite part! I got the mixed veggies and they were ok. Sooo much food! Both of us couldn't finish our meal! Interior was ok, nothing too exciting but like I said the server made it a great experience:)

Loved it! Great chips and salsa, yummy grilled fish tacos and a special of the night, mac n cheese made with queso!

Thanks to our trusty Yelp and a nice 10% discount, we decided to give the Cantina Biltmore a try and we were sure glad we did! We came on a Sunday evening and there was no wait. We decided to eat on the patio and the waitress came promptly to serve us. We had the plantains as an appetizer and the stuffed avocado along with their fish tacos and everything was simply delicious. The service was equally admirable and the prices were very reasonable! We liked it so much we knew we'd be back again!

Excellent service for a large group at a luncheon meeting. One guy waited on us and he never let drinks become empty. He was correct in all the orders. I wasn't crazy about the shrimp pineapple tacos but everyone's food looked delicious. The Shrimp tacos were very spicy and hot. I would live to go back and try something g different.

Mother chuckin' son of a hog, this little cantina puts it out. Food orgasm. Now, I didn't delve into the entrees and salads and soups - my meal consisted of two appetizers. Two delectable delights: 1) the ULTIMATE (they do all caps) Queso Dip w/ chorizo, spinach, and pico and 2) Stuffed Avocado w/ chicken and other goodies topped w/ cheese. Oh wait, I neglected to mention the freaky little 1800 / Gran Marnier / Splash of OJ margarita by Stephanie that was on special for half off on Monday nights. Go here people, eat this food and order a drink. You will not be disappointed.

Great food and great service. The tequila flight was incredible and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. Her advice was spot on and helped us have a memorable lunch. This is a must visit restaurant whenever you are anywhere close to Asheville.

This restaurant is one of our go to restaurants. We frequent here at least ever other week. So far everything we have tried we have liked, but I'm a bit of a creature of habit so my favorite is the chicken tacos. My kids swear that their steak quesadilla is the best in town and my husband loves the fajitas. Their sides are fantastic, but I can't get enough of the Brussels sprouts and kale. With three kids we really need an attentive staff and the staff here has always been quick to get the things we need for the kids. The only con that I've experienced here is that sometimes they are a little slow getting the food out, but that hasn't been the case for every visit so they get five stars in my opinion.

The food was really excellent and the atmosphere was great. We loved the bowling pin concept for the kids, so very kid friendly. We had Matt as our waiter and he was very nice and very accommodating to us. Overall a great experience!

Food was fine. Some of it better than others. The shredded chicken inside my burrito was very dry. Extremely over priced. 40 dollars at lunch for two. Probably won't be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
