Solid food here - as others have noted, if you're from a place with lots of ethnic foods, you won't think it's the absolute best you've ever had. But I will definitely be back again and would recommend it. It will satisfy a craving for ethnic foods that can be hard to fill in Missoula. I brought friends from Chicago here and they enjoyed their meal, too.

Do you want someone who grew up in Little Saigon to tell you this place is good? You got it. This place is good... As good as it gets for pho in Missoula. I can also tell you, the other pho place in town, Vietnam Noodles is not run by Vietnamese people, and there's a big difference, they're not serving authentic pho, it's like a Hmongolized or Chinified version. Just like good sushi coming from true Japanese establishments -- you gotta go with a Vietnamese chef for good pho. Vietnam Grill's service is mediocre, if not near bad, but I'm not knocking them down this time, but I might. The waiter seemed a little ignorant about Vietnamese food... So why does he work there again? My main focus this trip was for pho, so I'll come back to try the other stuff soon.

We have been going there for several years when in town. Everything we have ordered was good. My favorite is the special rice noodle pho. A meal in a bowl. Service is always friendly and everything is cooked to order. The vegetables are always cold perfectly and the meat always tender. Love the sesame fry bread to accompany the meals. The garlic chicken is wonderful also. We have trouble deciding on what to order. This is a family owned and operated place that takes the fine art of taste to a level often forgotten or not attainable by other places. My wife loves the curry chicken soup with coconut milk. I wish they were in my home town.

I've eaten at Vietnam Grill four or five times now and I'm not particularly happy with the place. I've had the pho, the spring rolls, a tofu curry dish, and a fried rice dish and they are all lacking the fresh, flavorful produce/ingredients. Onions, mung bean sprouts, bok choy, etc--all taste surprisingly bland. The tofu curry was hardly recognizably curry--no depth in the curry spices, mostly oil flavored--and the baked (?) tofu was small and hard. like gum chewed way too long. On another point, I've always had nice and attentive service. And the prices aren't unreasonable. And yes, Vietnamese and Asian restaurants are difficult to come by in Missoula. So, if you need a Vietnamese food fix then you can come here. I'm not going to recommend it, but you can come here.

After reading a bunch of reviews on Pacifico Vietnamese Noodle Restaurant I realized a lot of people were recommending Vietnam Grill through their reviews. Yelp! didn't have any reviews, so I checked it out and it was great! The food was very fresh tasting and had a lot of flavor. We ordered an appetizer of beef samosa, which was very crispy and had great flavor with a little kick to it. They kind of reminded me of what would translate to a Vietnamese crispy beef taco. For dinner we ordered shrimp egg fried noodles (it's not on their menu, but they were happy to make it for me) and udon with chicken, garlic and hot sauce. Both of these dishes were very tasty. The first one was very mild tasting, had thin egg noodles and hit the spot. The only thing I would have liked more was if there were more than 6 shrimp in it. The second dish was a bit more spicy and had thicker udon noodles. We went on a Thursday night at 8pm and there were only three tables filled. The service was quick and polite. I highly recommend checking out Vietnam Grill if you are looking for something fresh and tasty in downtown Missoula.

I'm a big fan of the pho. It is affordable and always fresh and tasty. The $6 sandwiches are great and cost what a sandwich should cost. I love the tofu vegetable pho even though I am not a vegetarian. I recommend it with beef broth. The owner and staff are very nice and make you feel like family. I was there with a friend who was simply not in the mood for what she ordered. The chef/owner noticed and made my friend a special meal thar was just what she wanted. Now that's good service.

Nothing fancy but excellent Vietnamese food. My wife and i each had the spring rolls which were very flavorful and fresh. I had the pork Bun and my wife had the Bun special. Both were very well prepared and tasty with just the right amount of spice. Nothing in the way of atmosphere and the wait staff was competent. Go here for the food. Only down side was that they had no beer, which in my opinion is the perfect compliment to good Vietnamese food.

This restaurant is what I miss about Missoula the most. My boyfriend and I would end up going here roughly once a week. It was quick, affordable, and the service was always amazing. The family who runs it is so very kind, and they make your food so quickly. Their pho and egg rolls are delicious. Miss this place!

wonderful addition to Missoula, MT. A city where good retauarants are rare and Asian Restaurants even more rare here in "Whitelandia". Took my family there and was pleasntly surprised with the food, the prices and the greats service.

Although I haven't eaten Vietnamese food before and have nothing to compare to I thought the food was very good. I had the special grill rice stick noodles and the flavors were subtle and very tasty. The vegis were crisp and fresh. Yum! Meals start from $6 with the most expensive at $10.50. Staff was friendly and helped me pick my meal out because I asked her to since I've never been to a Vietnamese restaurant before.

Very good over all it s one of the better Asian restaurants in Montana. We had fried coconut curry shrimp on rice and chicken thai pad thai. Good sized servings quick no frills restaurant we'll come back when we are back in town.

I should have tried this place years ago, but one bad recommendation kept me away. My mistake! Now that I've tried Vietnam Grill for myself, I can say that they have the most authentic Pho in town, without a doubt. Before, I gave that distinction to Vietnam Noodle, but I always felt like their Pho was a bit off of the standard I got used to in Southern California. Vietnam Grill on the other hand is much closer to the real deal, and is absolutely the best option for Pho in Missoula. This place deserves your business, so give them a try!

What a huge disappointment. Don't let you desire for good Pho lure you in here because you will be very sad. Both service and food are poor.

I think this is as authentic (traditional) as you can get around here. Great service, I believe it's family owned. And most importantly, delicious!

I wasn't all that impressed with flavor here. Pho broth was lacking in depth. They gave us cilantro instead of Basil. They forgot our veg plate in the first place and we had to ask for it. Spring rolls were just ok too. They came with Iceberg lettuce which is not my preference and the sauce was not as peanutty as I like. Nice people though. Place was pretty busy. Menu was hecka large so I'd try something else here next time. They have a lot of Thai inspired dishes here too. Curries and Pad Thai. I'd recommend trying those over the Pho.

This restaurant was graded with a 4 stars, so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. I was from of town and dying for Pho (beef bowl noodle soup). The restaurant was pretty busy I said to myself this must be a good restaurant. Sat down for 5-10 minute waitress took our order. I ordered Pho beef and spring roll my boyfriend ordered Pho shrimp. Wait for another 30 minute foods had arrived. Never never ever ever tasted such terrible horrible Vietnamese food in my life. You don't put cucumber in your Spring roll. This one have cucumbers. No mint leaves. Pho had NO taste at all. It was like hot water and noodles and 3-4 pieces of thick beef. A cup of noodle would do better than their PHO. My boyfriend Pho shrimp . The shrimp tasted like store fry and dumped it in hot water for soup. Will not go there again. Does not deserve even 1 star.

OMG!!! After 10 years of looking for good Asian cuisine in Montana the search is over!!! The food at Vietnam Grill is fantastic! We all had something different: beef & meatball Pho, Tom Yum, Mongolian beef, Pad Thai and Samosas! Everything was delicious! The Mongolian beef and Pad Thai were some of the best I've ever had! Our family loves to go on foodie adventures and we can wait to come back and explore the menu some more!!

I ordered a stir fry chicken To Go. There were probably about 4 pieces of cut-up chicken breast and the rest were vegetables. The chicken and vegetables did not appear to be in good proportion. I wonder if the same proportion is served for dine-in.

Having walked around downtown for half an hour looking for a place that's open, my friends and I found this nice culture pocket. Small amount of seating. My group of four got the last table. Only Asian food place I've seen so far in Missoula. (visiting from Moorhead MN) Food smelled amazing, and tasted just the same. I would recommend and return. (Which we did)

Not a very big restaurant so it fills up quickly. They will pay attention to food allergies which is nice. The added bonus is they serve both Pepsi and Coke products. The food is average of the road.

Back again! Ordered the Round steak and meatball pho with egg rolls and cafe sua da this time. They upped their Pho game! really good broth, noodles tasted better and meat was good. Love my Cafe Sua Da and they made it well :) right amount of coffee and condensed milk

Yum! I wish we had Vietnamese food this good in Cincinnati! Love the banh mi, the fresh spring rolls, the pho, and the atmosphere. Clean, cheap, quick for food that's cooked to order. Love it every summer on our way to glacier!

Absolutely delicious! Some of the friendliest owners/family in town. Had the sliced beef banh mi, some Kim chi, sesame chicken curry coconut, grilled veggies, Mongolian beef, Bun Bo-spicy beef lemongrass soup, 4 shrimp spring rolls, 2 egg rolls, and more. We keep going back, delicious!

Best vietnamese food in town. The place is a bit dated but who cares when the food is to die for! I have tried four different dishes now and I do not have any complaints. They have fast friendly service and there has never been a long wait to be seated.

Mediocre Vietnamese food that isn't worth the price. Greasy floors, dead atmosphere and an uncaring preparation make this a pass over place. The one over the bridge is worth the drive. If this place was half the price it might be worth it.

Summary: Solid Vietnamese experience. If you're from a place that has a large vietnamese community, this won't be as good as those, but for Montana, it's EXCELLENT. Grilled Pork with Noodles Good flavor but I had to add more fish sauce than was provided to get it to have the punch that I wanted. Special Rice Noodle Soup Very tasty, very flavorful, very well done. Overall if you're craving vietnamese food, this will do a great job of it. It won't be the best you'll have (if you're from a big city that has a vibrant Vietnamese community) but for Montana I doubt you'll find much better. This place is well worth a visit.

I must admit I don't know much about Vietnamese food, so take my review with a grain of soy. I had the sesame curry chicken noodles. It was a huge helping and nice and spicey. I enjoyed the flavors and textures - and it really warmed me up on this snowy Sunday! Service was utilitarian but kind. I will be back again.

Best egg and spring rolls in Missoula, in my opinion. Service is friendly, humble, and fast. The food seems to be really fresh, too.

This is our go-to quick sit down lunch/dinner and takeout spot. Easily the best fast food in town. The family who runs it appears authentic, the prices are über affordable, and the Vietnamese flavors are delish. Small, friendly and relaxed with good service and solid small Asian restaurant atmosphere. Try the egg rolls and the Banh mi sandwich. Happy feasting!

Their Pho is soooo disappointing! Looks like it's cooked straight out from instant packet added with beef meat balls. Vietnam Noodle at Stephens Ave. has better Pho in my opinion.

It's been a while since I have eaten here but I do remember it being deeeeelicious! It's hard to come by good Asian food in the Zoo and Vietnam Grill hits the spot. My girlfriend and I had the Stir-Fried Lemongrass Chicken, Spring Rolls, Eggrolls, Sesame Fried Bread and rice...everything was on point and perfectly prepared. I have not had their Pho, Rice Dishes, Rice Stick Dishes or Vietnamese Sandos but I cannot wait to get back in there and try them all! The price is right, food is delish and the people are nice...can't go wrong here!

Horrible service and horrible food. The restaurant is dirty and the staff does little but stand around and take abuse from the owner/cook. When I asked if a vegetarian menu item had dairy or animal products, the cook said she didn't know. The food took nearly an hour to arrive and only one of us received their food, the remaining two received it almost 15 minutes later. The food was extremely oily and the vegetables and tofu were barely recognizable. The young man serving food kept touching his face and then getting silverware and glasses. I imagine a health inspection will finish this place off. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Absolutely love this place! Miss Kim is wonderful to my family and I, and knows exactly what each of us likes. The food is phenomenal, and the service is always so friendly and efficient. I can't say enough about Vietnam Grill. You have to give it a try!
