I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews for this place. The service was spot on, when one was busy, a second server stepped in. The chips were crunchy and not greasy. The salsa was fresh and very tasty. I had a combo plate and it was very fresh. The rice was very good, and I'm not a big rice fan. The Cadillac Margarita was very well made and rivaled a good margarita anywhere. Great place!!!

Save your money and go down the street to taco time. The chips were very stale, salsa was bland. Had the carne asada burrito and I have had frozen TV dinners that tasted better.

I went here for dinner tonight and I have to say I was extremely disappointed. First, the chips were so overcooked they were almost dark brown. I ordered a combo with a Chili Relleno and chicken enchilada and it was not good at all. The chicken was tough. The egg batter on the Relleno was so dry I could hardly stick my fork into it at one end, and the chili was tasteless. Even the rice tended to lack flavor. This restaurant is definitely a no go in my book.

Had dinner here last night; AWESOME service, great food, and good margaritas! I would definitely eat here again! I'm always hesitant to have Mexican food in Missoula, mostly because I moved here from Long Beach, CA where I was spoiled with amazing and authentic Mexican, but this spot is definitely one of the better places I have eaten. The hostess, our server and the manager, were friendly and helpful. Salsa was great, water glasses were kept full and food was excellent. Corn tortillas are made in house and margaritas were free poured. Definitely recommend!

My favorite mexican food place in Missoula! Their food is delicious and I crave it all the time. Their atmosphere is comfortable, and their servers and kind and attentive. I love that they have a full bar to choose from as well.

Not impressed. I gave this place 3 chances but 3 strikes your out. The food was whack and they need a new cook and some new recipes. Even their salsa and chips are bad. But I guess Missoula doesn't have much to offer for GOOD Mexican food. So if you're just passing through Missoula pass on this place.

Had lunch today with two friends. Nothing special here, just a standard American Mexican restaurant. I had 2 enchiladas with shredded beef. Friends had Chili Rellenos and the Fiesta burrito. The burrito looked the best because it came topped with guac and sour cream. The chips and salsa weren't bad. The salsa had a slight kick from chili powder. Service was good and we were in and out in a half an hour.

Just got done eating here. You would be better off coming to taco bell the food was not good at all.

Large portions of "standard fare" Mexican food. Price a little on the high side. Place was clean and spacious. Nice inside, air conditioned. Close to Ruby's Inn so we walked there.

My new favorite Mexican food restaurant in Missoula. In a city not known for its quality Mexican cuisine, I was very pleased with my meal at Fiesta En Jalisco. This restaurant is in the "Rowdy's" building which looks like a log cabin. The exterior and interior look way out of place for a Mexican restaurant, but the food is good. I had the tacos al carbon which were well seasoned. The plates are huge (a bit too huge, IMHO). They also have a full bar. No "wine margaritas" here!

  • Dolores G.

This has to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in Missoula! Don't let the exterior fool ya...they serve up some mean Mexican favorites. When I am stationed here, I am usually without a kitchen or the ingredients to cook my own, and when I get the "calling" I go here.

MEH is a good word to describe this dining establishment. There were a few things that I want to address. 1. Staff shouldn't sit at the bar and complain about customers in loud voices while they are on the clock. 2. Pouring their chips into their warming bin from a garbage can (regardless if it is designated for only that purpose) is surely not something that makes me want to eat their chips, or any of their food. 3. Wait staff should take EVERYONE'S order. 4. DO NOT bring second rounds of alcoholic beverages without being ordered. I was there with a group of 11 folks and we had called ahead for a group table. Upon arrival we were seated at a long table, or rather series of smaller tables pushed together. They didn't even line up and were all uneven. The chips and salsa were brought to the table promptly and we started snacking, until I saw the aforementioned garbage can pour. That's when I promptly stopped. Our waiter came and began taking orders. He totally skipped me and asked me if I was ordering when he came back with the entrees (interestingly enough I was the one paying the bill, and I was the one ignored). After witnessing the garbage can chips, I opted to consume only my beverage. After our entree's were served, the waiter brought a second round of drinks for everyone. I asked everyone at the table if they had ordered another round, and no one had. I thought perhaps he was making up for failing to take my order. That was, until, the bill arrived and they had charged us for the second round. Most of the folks at the table stated that their meal was acceptable. No one thought it was terrific, and one was completely unhappy with the dish. While I realize that there is limited mexican dining in Missoula, this place should be allowed to go out of business.

Fiesta En Jalisco serves decent food at reasonable prices, and as of this review is the best option for Mexican I've found in Missoula. The combo plates are the standard entree in the the middle bracketed by rice and beans subjected to 1,000 degree heat. The taste is decent, not particularly greasy, even though the beans are too runny and rice too dry. The place has a liquor license, so you can get a margarita. It can be a little hard to spot from the road since it's located inside a casino called Rowdy Cabin or something.

The food was not good.for the price I know I could have done better. The salsa was bland and and my meal came out in less then five minutes from when I ordered it. I'm willing to bet that it was sitting in the back waiting for me for a while.

Solid, predictable Mexican restaurant food, albeit quite mild. Great cocktail and beer menu. Friendly service.

SO DELICIOUS! We went here the night of my bachelorette party and had a great time. They make amazing margaritas whether you get an original or one of their many flavors. The food is delicious, and the service is fast and friendly! You can't ask for anything better! If you are looking for great authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go!

For Missoula i really do like this restaurant. This place has been by far the closest to real authentic mexican food around. The only reason i did not give 5 stars is because of one little disappointment. Being from down south i know what real mexican food is all about, and one thing i know is hamburger tacos and burritos are not normally on the menu. I can tell that the people running the restaurnt are true mexicans and it bothers me that they would cheat us on carne just becaue they think people in montana do not know any better. Besides this issue the food here is the best around. Not use to paying this much for a good carne taco but i guess i gotta do what i gotta in Missoula.

  • Lisa L.

The food was bland. The chips were store-bought. The only thing that was good was the rice, which doesn't make a meal (and that was all I ended up eating because my taco was awful). I left hungry and unimpressed.

This place is one of our go to spots for a quick lunch in the N Reserve area. The service is snappy and the lunch portions are really affordable and plentiful. There is enough seating in here so it never gets too jam packed and you will enjoy visit if you come here for lunch!

Best Mexican restaurant in town. They recently changed their chips they serve which was not a change for the better. The nachos are amazing. Full bar, great beer selection.

Of the three Fiesta En Jalisco restaurants in our area, we much prefer the one located at 4880 N. Reserve Street just down the street from Costco. The salsa here is wonderful with big chunks of onion and tomato which is spooned up with fresh corn chips. When we tried the restaurant in Polson, they actually put cabbage in the salsa and it was awful. The enchilada sauce is just spicy enough and you can always add more power to it ,if you wish. Our only regret is that they don't do coupons, because we would eat there twice as often. Judy H. Wright

There were some things I liked and didn't like about this place. First I tried to order enchiladas, and the server told me I couldn't get a certain kind of meat with one of the sauces. I asked if it came with/if I could get guacamole and sour cream with them and she just seemed hesitant/unsure. Also it was very odd and stupid that they only give you ONE free refill on ordered sodas. We ended up just sticking with waters. I ordered the Fiesta Burrito. It was good. Lots of sour cream and guacamole on top with juicy meat on the inside. Waited around a bit for our bill too which was kind of annoying. Overall it was good food, but weird service/menu aspects of the restaurant leaves me hesitant the next time I come to town.

I will not be returning to Fiesta En Jalisco after the very poor experience I had there this past Saturday. The service was very slow, and our waiter cared more about chatting with the regulars than taking notice of our order, which was lost! Our food was average at best, nothing special about the enchiladas we ordered, bland in taste, as was the salsa. The payment was also delayed as our waiter continued to laugh it up with the other customers. I was not impressed at all, and will be seeking other Mexican restaurants in the Missoula area for next diner!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
