We saw all the good reviews, so we decided to give this place a shot. One of my daughters ordered the bacon burger. It was okay. Just okay. My other daughter ordered the chef salad. It looked like they used a bag of mixed salad from Walmart and tossed some cheese and ham on top, and then slapped a $11 price tag on it. The dressing was warm, like it had been sitting out all day. As far as service goes, our waitress seemed like she was doing all the work in the cafe, which made us feel rushed, and she wasn't very friendly. Don't stop unless you're starving. We were starving, and we wouldn't stop again.

On a section of the interstate woefully short of eating options we found ourselves in Lima. We decided to try Jan's - and it was fine. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was simple and funky, as it would be in any small town. We had the lunch special - a patty melt - which was good. The burger was enormous and tasty. The rest of the melt was nice as well. The patty melt came with fries that were a touch overcooked.

Good sandwiches, friendly waitress. Food was a bit slow, but everything was cooked fresh, not sitting on the back burner.

Best burgers I've ever had. If you're driving through this area, definitely worth the time to stop.

We have been wanting to stop here every time we have been on our way to Rexburg but never timed it right. We made a point of stopping for breakfast today. You should only eat here if you like good old fashioned cafe cooking and aren't in a hurry. You get a lot of food for the money and it is made fresh. Not greasy. Can't wait to try the piece of coconut cream pie we took to go. Update - the pie was five stars!!

This place was amazing! We stopped in for lunch as we were traveling to Canada. We were pretty skeptical from the looks of the place, but don't let that fool you. The food was great!! The soup of the day was cranberry beef. I tried it just to see, and was floored! Honestly one of the best soups I've ever had! The dinner roll was homemade & delicious. To finish it off I had the caramel apple pie, and that was extraordinary as well! The only thing I wish is that I could have gotten Jan's recipe for the soup! You must stop in and try this place!

After a LONG drive, and being only halfway home, we were hungry and worried about not finding a place to eat a late lunch. Jan's was right off the highway in the little town of Lima. Cool, "hometown" appearance. The food was great! All of us had burgers and fries and they were very tasty! Service was friendly and efficient. We would definitely come back!

Stopped here by chance and so happy we did! The Montana burger (special) was awesome, and the homemade pie was better than advertised. In fact, it was such a good experience we are going to make a second visit on our way home from our business trip.

We just left there - very full - with irresistable, take-out homemade pie in hand. The food is just as it proclaims - Homemade Grub. Apparently they are known for their burgers. DH had the Lima burger and said it was good - along with a huge pile of fries. I had the Chicken fried steak which was a little tough, but tasty. The mashed potatoes were home smashed and yummy. They are open from 7am - 10pm and serve a nice selection so there's probably something for most people. They were making some milk shakes while we were there and use handscooped ice cream and real milk. I think I would make a stop just for that! It can be a rare treat these days. Location is right off the freeway ramp before you get to the rest stop area.

Good grub! Hot turkey hit the spot on this rainy day. Everyone cleaned their plates in our family. Friendly service, good food.
