Been coming here for 15 years, I think that's says it all. But my favorites are Prime Rib on Friday & Saturday you just can't beat it anywhere. Ham steak and eggs for Breakfast if you are really hungry add a side of their Sausage Gravy oh just like Mom use to make. Oh I forgot the Soups & Fry Bread. Their specialty is their daily Creamy Tomato Plus another soup each day. You can not go wrong here, The waitresses are the best in the west. Nope I don't have a share in this place, but I wish I did. Tell them Danny Paul sent you.

Poor poor people, what have they done to you? When you give a restaurant a five star rating, what are you basing it on? What is the establishment you are comparing it to? If McDonald's is your idea of a benchmark for a four star meal then maybe just maybe Cislos would qualify for five stars... I suggest if you have ranked this establishment higher than two star you should venture outside the Flathead valley and have a bite to eat. The Service: The staff is pleasant. We had to ask twice for more coffee. The food: Not the greatest... overcooked oily eggs, overcooked potatoes...

When we walked up to this restaurant a few eyebrows where raised. We came here based on Yelp reviews. We had a great meal!

Great place to have breakfast! Affordable and delicious!! Service was fantastic, coffee was good, food done just right! After a few hours on the bike, we were hungry and this place got good reviews so we stopped. It was busy but we got seated right away and really enjoyed our meals.

Hot food. Cooked as we like it. Big portions. The food is worth the wait. Friendly service. They help each other out. The building is bigger than it looks. Will be coming back. Remember Saturday is prime rib night.

Great home cooking place. All the locals know this place. Great breakfast, I ate here 4 times and each time the food was top notch. The waitress even remembered our orders (there were 6 of us) without even writing anything down. I will be back!

Awesome! Brett (the owner) and his team made our visit extra special. They took the time to visit with my family. His 30 years of hard work shines out in his smile and attitude. The food was amazing (one of the best ribeyes ever) as was the desserts. A special thank you for the cookies! My wife and kids enjoyed them later that evening. Best wishes from southern Indiana. We will stop in again next time we are in Montana.

Awesome little home cooking diner, prices are great, and the foods even better!! I got an appetizer of onion rings, and it was huge for the price!! Their Philly cheese sandwich served with dipping broth was one of the best Ive had in awhile. Cant wait to go back and try more of their menu.

GREAT place!!! Owner is a super nice guy and asked us about our trip. Servers are very nice ladies and ours in particular was a real sweetie. Food is very tasty and reasonably-prices. GO HERE YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!

Loved it! From Seattle and this place was definitely adequate. I ordered the French Toast, bacon, eggs, and the triple berry pie. All of it was good.

Cislos is a great breakfast and lunchtime experience. Food is great, nothing too unique. I think the biggest opportunity with the place is: 1) The size. It is always packed. Parking lot and inside the building is crunched and it is loud enough that you can be involved in several other conversations. Truly, a building upgrade would be a big win. On the same note, sometimes it feels like you are maneuvering through a busy retail when you are having to walk through it for any reason. Some people might enjoy that atmosphere of dining. I enjoy serene atmospheres. Looking past all this, it is worth a visit here.

Cislos is about the best place in town to get a great family breakfast. Brett, the owner, makes each visit feel like we are just eating at home with the family. Great ownership, excellent food, and amazing staff!

  • Erik S.

I thought it was great. Good solid food. Had the smothered hamburger steak with mashed potatoes. I believe the potatoes were real (not boxed). The smothered beef was good, too. Salad was great - big and fresh. I suspect the previous poster was probably just a little out of her element here in Montana- probably why she gets poor service. My service was impeccable. It's a greasy spoon w/o beer, so I'm capped at 3 stars.

They were pretty busy and the decor/environment is pretty dated but the food is very good. The service team seemed kind of stressed because it was so busy but they seemed to handle it well. Would highly recommend if you are you looking for a local family lunch.

I eat here often because the food is great and cheap I have always got good service there and good food..i dont like how outdated the décor is i dont like how earlythey close and don't like how stinking crowded it always is.. but this crowd must be a good sign. and despite the busyness thewait staff is always attentive its food is Affordable and delicious

Great little restaurant. It looks very locally loved. A very good sign. Wait staff was very friendly and despite being very busy was incredibly attentive. I had the Reuben. I am a Reuben snob and I was impressed. Easily the best I've had in western Montana. I also had the cream of tomato soup. Made in the restaurant. It was very good. Overall, a great place to have lunch. I look forward to eating off the dinner menu and another great dining experience here.

If it was legal, I would marry a pasty. My family uses that as a meeting place wherever we are in town. Solid comfort food at a great price!

  • Joe K.

It reminded me of a hometown cafe. Prices are Very reasonable. Everything HomeMade (including the soups & pies)! Fantastic place, food & service. Definitely not racist as there were many different types of customers while I was there.

  • Chad D.

I have been coming here for the Kitchen Sink 3 egg omelet since I was a kid and I will never stop going in when I'm back home. It really doesn't get any better, even with 3 slices of American Cheese on top. The service is the best in town because these people love their jobs, the locals and have been there forever. It may only take you 3 trips before they'll be calling you by first name and asking if you'll have the usual. Great spot, always.

If you are looking for some Good Down Home Food just like Grandma use to make with large portions and the Nicest and Fastest waitress's you need to stop by there and tell them that Danny Paul recommended it.

Great service! And the food was above and beyond what we Expected. Stumbled in on way home from Glacier and what a surprise. Open faced turkey sandwiches for us and chicken sandwich rated Excellent by our picky 16 yo. Looked around and all food looked excellent.

    (5)
  • Carrie W.

The people who are giving this place five stars must be friends of the owner. Food was like Denny's quality. And I can sum up service in one word: RACIST. If you are not Caucasian, avoid this place.

  • Carey C.

Went here for breakfast on my way out of town. Was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was and the size of the portions. This is good ol' fashioned home cooked breakfast!

  • Oregon B.

The best place for good food and value. We love going here for breakfast but also love their half pound burgers with delicious hot fries! The food is always hot and very large portions! The staff is always friendly and fast! We would definitely recommend stopping here as you won't be disappointed.

This is our favorite place to go in Kalispell and we go really often. The food and service are always great. In fact, we have never ever had bad service in all the years we've been going. You can't beat the prices and you get good quality food in big quantities. I don't know why the note at the top of the page says it isn't a good place for kids, because it's actually very good. There are kid menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus they have sheets to color with cups full of markers. It is a family restaurant that is pleasantly decorated and everybody always feels welcome.

We stopped here for lunch. It was very crowded and the workers were really working hard to make everyone happy. The food was top-notch. Three of us got the shrimp basket special. All three said it was perhaps the best fried shrimp they had ever had. It was lightly breaded and delicious. I had the clam chowder and a tuna salad sandwich. Both were very good. Definitely would recommend this place. Looks like they don't need the recommendation, though, as it was hopping.

back again with friends who rave about the thursday special tiger shrimp. every bit as good as stated. definitely another visit in the future.

Excellent food of the americana variety abounds. We followed the recommendation, as two travelers, of a local we encountered at our hotel and found our way to Cislo's. The interior of the restaurant reminded me of many of the restaurants I had appreciated while living in Fairbanks, Alaska. Some might use the term "rustic" to describe the carpet, wall coverings, and laminated menu/joke/advertisement items. Each table came stationed with jellies, creamers, and hand sanitizer. The waitstaff was excellent to us and made spectacular recommendations. My wife particularly enjoyed the smothered chicken and I enjoyed my prime-rib special. Many of the other patrons appeared to be locals who enjoyed the modest prices, and we felt good to be in a place that felt local and authentic without having to sell/market itself as such. The pies are also quite good; this is a place I would go out of my way to return to if I found myself in Kalispell in the future.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
