Reasonably priced basic Mexican hits the spot. This restaurant serves your basic Mexican foods. It was busy when we arrived but waited less than 10 minutes. Homemade chips and salsa arrived soon after we were seated. The chips tasted as if they were fried in old oil and the salsa was runny but still pretty good. We had enchiladas mole, enchiladas tricolor (red, green and mole sauces) and 3 item combo platter. The combo platter allows you to pick 2 or 3 items of your choice of 6 different items. The food was basic but tasty and arrived hot. The portions were ample and were more than enough except for our hungry teenager. Our server was good and drinks (and refills) came quickly. Although the food isn't innovative, everything went well and hence 4 stars.

(((**WARNING**WARNING**WARNING**WARNING**))) Casa Mexico is the WORST Mexican food in NW Montana!!!! TRY: (1)Taco Mexico in Bigfork or (2)El Rancho in Kalispell The only way this place has survived so far is the lack of Mexican restaurants in the area. One more quality Mexican establishment in the area would end this nightmare for the good people of NW Montana. This place failed under the last name "Los Caporales" and they have the same owners nothing has changed except the decor. Service: Deplorable! We were seated rather quickly as there were and always are plenty of tables. We were served chips and salsa also rather quickly (within 2min.) from there everything slows to a crawl. The waitress took 10 min to take our drink orders, over 7min later they arrived, 15min. after that she took our order (we are now 35 min. after being seated). 5min later we needed refills on our drinks, the waitress passes by our table several times before going out to the patio to smoke a cigarette and do some texting. After another 10min passes I flag down someone else to refill our drinks, 5min later our food arrives. Food: We are now about an hour into our experience. I ordered the veggie enchiladas I received the spinach enchiladas, when I brought this to the waitresses attention she acted like it was no big deal and asked if I just wanted to eat the spinach enchiladas instead?... ummm no!?!... I would have ordered the spinach if that's what I wanted. When I finally received my order (in about 13 min) there was chicken in my veggie enchiladas, the veggies were frozen, the beans were bland, the rice was way overcooked .. At this point I just gave up, paid for what we got and hastily departed. I wish I could only give this place a half star, one is too much!

Good food and a nice relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant was very busy for a Sunday afternoon and the wait staff did really well keeping up. We didn't have to wait that long for a table.

Not a bad restaurant. Chips are plain and don't taste home made but the salsa is. I had the combo Fajitas with shrimp steak and chicken. Tasted ok. An all right Mexican restaurant with expected taste but nothing that made me go Wow! I would eat here again. They supposedly charge for $1.50 for each additional serving of chips and salsa, which is a cheap detractor.

Very good overall, good prices and good portions. The food was above average and seamed to be fresh. Clean and fun decore, would go again.

If you're craving Mexican food, this is a must try in the Kalispell area. The service, food, and drinks were great, but the salsa was absolutely amazing as well as the homemade chips. Family friendly environment with very neat decor. I will definitely return when back in the area.

DANG GOOD AMERICAN MEXICAN with a catch... It's what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant here in the states. Good food, Casa style decorations, Mexican music playing, chips and salsa the second you sit down. HUGE MARGARITAS with many flavors. fried ice cream, and so much more. They were super packed!!! But somehow we were seated in only a few minutes, even with the full lobby. Our food came FAST, and my shrimp tacos were awesome!!!! The refried beans kinda sucked. Rice was normal. The guy brought a complimentary sopapillos, about as good as the beans, but appreciated. Service was stellar fast, prompt, and friendly. Parking lot thankfully was huge to allow for how busy it was. All in all a great Mexican restaurant and I highly recommend them based on our first experience. If it weren't for the beans, I would have given a full 5 star, but a places beans are usually a reflection of the overall "balance", so I'm gonna assume it's a solid 4, but not 5.

Best Mexican Restaurant in Montana! Everything was great; the staff, prices, environment, food taste and presentation, and the prices are outstanding for the huge portion sizes! The carne asada burrito is amazing! So are the pitchers of margheritas!!! Highly recommended!

Absolutely perfect. Our group consisted of 10 vegetarians and when we got to the restaurant we were starving. We quickly ordered appetizers and within minutes the appetizers were served hot. We got the queso dip (awesome, cheesy and spicy made to perfection). The veggie quesadillas were also great! The main entrees were served hot and quickly! Large portions which make it easy to share. The veggie fajitas were served sizzling hot (does not happen often)! Our server was excellent!! (Ana R.) she was prompt and incredibly friendly! We will most likely come back here tomorrow!!

Came in twice to this restaurant in 3 days. The service was excellent the food was good. The best part of the meal was the chips and salsa they bring out for you too much on while you're waiting for your meal to arrive. My wife really enjoys the refried beans. They have recently remodeled the inside of the restaurant and it looks really nice.

I wasn't expecting much but the food was pretty good. The service was friendly but not very attentive. The salsa was fresh and delicious. The chips however maybe not as fresh. All in all it was a decent meal.

We were looking forward to eating some possible good Mexican food and having Margaritas. First disappointment was NO TEQUILA . We settled for a couple of Coronas, and ordered food, hubby got Chile Verde, nothing special there, his pork was very dry, mand he thought the sauce could have been from a jar. I got Carne Asada and shrimp and it was ok. We get the same kind of blaise food in Spokane.

The Fajita Salad was a large mound of shredded lettuce with NO dressing. VERY DRY. The booths are sooo high (yes, gives privacy) that you have to get up and walk around the restaurant in order to find your server. They don't walk by very often. When I asked for dressing, the server looked confused, like "why would you need anything on that huge pile of dry lettuce?" He didn't say that, but it felt like that. He asked what i wanted to put on it and I didn't know....what would taste good with this. He didn't know....suggested I put salsa on it....the salad. This is the job of the chef....come up with a cohesive plate that doesn't require the guest to try to figure out how to compose the dish. I live near by, but don't plan on going back anytime soon.

OK. I just have to say, my husband and I were totally impressed. Needless to say, there aren't a lot of great Mexican eateries in Montana. So, maybe we've just come to expect less. But this Mexican food was fantastic. Great flavor (we had combo steak, chicken, shrimp fajitas, real crab enchiladas, and flan), large portions, and top notch service. I'd heard this place had upscaled recently and the beautiful decor proves it. I was here once when the decor and food were meh and it was under a different name. But they've done a lot of things different to make this place stand out. I'd give it five stars if they had a full liquor license; and the chips are funky, sometimes a little overcooked but fresh salsa makes up for them. If you want a real margarita and more nontraditional Mexi food, go to El Topo in Bigfork. But finally some great Mexican food in Kalispell. Yay!!

We had not been in Casa Mexico since their remodel. The inside is beautiful and the service is excellent. Staff were very friendly and service was fast and exceptional. The food was really good. We had the cheescake burrito desert thing was excellent. Definitely would recommend to anyone who likes mexican food. We really enjoyed the night out and Casa Mexico.

We were starving and they had immediate seating when we called ahead and since we love Mexican food, figured we couldn't go wrong here. Our experience was just okay. When we arrived, the hostess was busy talking to someone in the kitchen and didn't greet us, rather finished their conversation grabbed menus and motioned for us to follow. We were seated at a table in the very back by the emergency exit door, less than ideal for an intro, but let's move on to the food... I ordered a margarita while the husband had a Corona, both took about 10 minutes to be brought out. At this time we ordered immediately hoping to avoid a long wait time with our meals. Surprisingly, the meals took less than 10 minutes to arrive piping hot at our table. The husband had fish tacos while I had the chicken fajitas. Both of us enjoyed our food and the portions were quite large, no way we could finish them. Our server was not very attentive or friendly, but fine just the same. This place serves up decent food, but with lackluster customer service. Take it was you wish, but I'd rather have great service and great food.

First decent meal we had since visiting Montana 3 days ago. Good typical Mexican fare.

AMAZING!!! Came here the day before New Years and it was delicious! Real authentic Mexican food, great atmosphere, good portions, awesome service, food came FAST, and also have some American food choices that are also good if members of your party don't like real Mexican food(who doesn't). One of my brothers ordered some American food and even that was good. Also they have a great kids menu. Haven't eaten such good Mexican food in a long time! Will not disappoint.

Best Mexican food in Montana! And I am expert. You know you are in a great Mex restaurant when the chips are excellent. Salsa very good. Service excellent and the enchiladas were exceptional. What else can I say. You will not be disappointed.

Not a bad place. They were open late, and on a Sunday.. Which made driving through Kalispell hungry a lot better. The prices were good and they had a great looking menu. The peach margarita was delicious and so was the horchata... I ordered a fajita quesadilla and it was SO greasy. Other than that good meal.. Wouldn't recommending ordering that dish though.

This place is pretty good. The food is your usual American/Mexican, enchilada plate floating in sauce that sort of thing, there really are no authentic Mexican restaurants here in MT to really speak of. But it's good, decent prices and very clean. I do not recommend the margaritas. When I ordered it I didn't realize they only had a beer/wine license so it was "wine-arita" and not very tasty to me.

Casa Mexico 1600 Hwy 93 South, Kalispell, MT We stopped in here for a "sort of late" dinner on a Sunday night, was in the mood for some Mexican food and were pleasantly surprised. Great Menu, great pricing, fast service, good beer and wine menu, nice atmosphere, would definitely recommend!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
