My family of three just had tapas at Walkers and we all felt that it rated a WOW! The bacon wrapped dates were salty and sweet and just amazing. The pork belly lettuce wraps were melt-in-your-mouth tender and flavorful. The meat and cheese tray had a great contrast of flavors and textures. The fried calamari was also tasty, but needed a little salt. Lastly, the hummus was delicious with a sweet tomato compote on top. Everything was great. Our waiter Sam was sweet and enthusiastic. He was very knowledgable about the menu and dishes and gave us great advice. We ordered about 8 dishes between the three of us and left totally stuffed (my 14 year old son can pack it away!). I only wish I lived closer so we could come all the time. Those of you living in Billings are lucky to have such a great restaurant! Yum!

The good: Ambiance is classy and jazzy. Not pompous as some of the higher end places can be. I appreciated the piano playing in the bar area separated by a semi wall and loved the painted barbed wire chandeliers. The bad: Brussels sprout side medley was charcoal burnt on the lamb dish. The lamb was requested as medium but was BARELY medium rare (some parts were inedible). Redemption leading to 3 star recovery: Under different circumstances cooking the lamb and veggies badly would not even get 3 stars but the food that was done well was superb. The hummus was delicious and I consider myself somewhat of a hummus expert. The mint beef satay salad was also done very nicely. The good food along with the impressive atmosphere definitely earned 3 stars despite the bad.

Are you looking for a mixed drink that is made just right, or a meal that hits all the high notes, then Walkers is a must. This is the place I go to when I want a unique and well crafted cocktail, a meal made just right every time, or just a great atmosphere all around. Im in Billings for a week for work and i had a coworkers strongly recommend Walker's. Wow, just wow. I was so happy with my meal tonight. I decided to sit at the bar and start with a glass of cabernet sauvignon. Delicious. The bartender was attentive and helpful. He offered me bread and butter to munch on which i rarely see when i sit at the bar in a restaurant I decided to stick with small plates and the first thing i got was the carpaccio. It was heavenly. The meat melted in my mouth and the olive oil and salt complimented the rich taste of the meat. I tried to eat slow so i could savor every bite. The next thing i got was the pork belly lettuce cups. Again. Another good choice. The pork belly was fatty and buttery with a good amount of sauce. The pickled apples ( i think thats what was on them?) were refreshing and went well with with the pork. I also love anything with crushed peanut on top. I was getting pretty full at this point so i skipped right for dessert. I usually dont go for the chocolate lava cake esque desserts but i was really craving chocolate. I got the chocolate souffle and it came out piping hot. The bartender told me to poke the top and let it cool down. After a few minutes it was perfect. The entire thing was moist and gooey. Usually the edges dry out but they cooked it perfectly. Next time im in town i will definitely be back!!

Yum! This place is a bit confusing though, we wanted just wine and tapas, the place looks very high end, like you have to order dinner. But we asked, and that was okay. One star off because it was too hot in the restaurant. Turn on the AC in the summer! We were served delicious bread and butter right off. The wine list is pretty good, and reasonably priced for glasses or bottles. We had pork belly, bruschetta, and peppers. All were really good. I could eat that pork belly all day. It was rich and sinfully yummy! I wanted to lick the plate, but this place is too classy for that! Too bad we had no room for dessert, it looked good!

This hip spot is located just off of Broadway downtown. It has three parts to the food menu - small, medium and large. I stuck to small and had pickled brussel sprouts to start. Tangy and crunchy with good flavor. I combined that with a dark and stormy cocktail and watched the game while the host was kind enough to find a place to charge my mobile. I moved on to the hummus and pita with tomato compote which was a little sweet with the tomato but good none the less. I debated between a wine by the glass as the selection is nice but went back to the gingery goodness of my dark and stormy. If I had more room I was going to hit either the homemade chicken pate or the popcorn sweetbreads. Next time. Sunday is jazz night btw. Live music in the bar area.

I was in Billings for business and I was not disappointed by Walker's. One of my clients recommended it and it was great. Staff is super friendly and the scallops were crazy good. The cannelloni with seafood inside and a lemon sauce was the best too. If you're in town, definitely stop in!

What the F David Blaine?! This place is sorcery. I did not know food this good could have found its place in Montana. Atmosphere was a mix of modern style furniture with the classic look of prohibition type bars. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Now don't even get me started on the food and drinks.. I started with a Walkers Tea Tini and felt the same feeling I did the day America first gained its independence from the British. I moved along with some Blue Crab Tots and was at a loss of words. The Walkers punch and Seared Beef Soft Tacos left me wondering what the h3ll I was doing in Montana in the first place. I wrapped up my meal with the Milk Chocolate Bread Pudding and was almost brought to tears. Don't kid yourself, if you're on yelp and you've read this entire review and are still trying to decide where to go for dinner, then you are crazy.

So enjoyed this place! Was in from out of town and a friend who had moved to Billings about a year before recommended it, and it did not disappoint. I had the house salad, after which we shared the special, which was a wild mushroom risotto. We then shared the Artisan meat and cheese plate. What a great combination! The meats included prosciutto (not the best cut but delicious), salami and duck breast, and the cheeses included a roquefort, goat cheese rolled in a coating I can't recall, and a third cheese -- not great with names this evening, but boy, it was all delicious! The bread was outstanding as well. I had a glass of the Tempranilo which was excellent. This was more than enough for two people; we were satisfied, but not overwhelmed; now that I've read all the reviews for the desserts I wish we'd cut one thing out so we could've saved room! Our server was very nice -- attentive but not too much. She came by to clear once and we said, very nicely, that we were still working -- and she got immediately that we were old friends catching up and gave us some space. Really appreciated that. If I have the pleasure of returning to this area, I definitely plan to come here again.

Good place. I liked the ambiance. Classy and informal at the same time. I really like how you can look into the kitchen. I had the daily soup special. Black bean pure with a goat cheese cream. REALLY GOOD! For the entree, I had the lamb dish. It was good. Something in the side tasted a tiny bit burnt. That dish overall was a bit... Interesting. Tasted good but very weirdly plated. A really big plate with all the food pushed to one side. Again... Interesting style hahah I had the bread pudding for dessert and it was good too. The ice cream is what made that dish. SOOOOO GOOOD! Our family of 7 adults and 1 totally cute, restaurant-ready toddler showed up for a Sunday night dinner. It was a birthday for my nephew and anniversary dinner for my niece and nephew. Walker's was my Mothers favorite restaurant, so in her memory we choose to celebrate there. The menu absolutely appealed to everyone. Some small plates, and a few entrees. Everyone loved what they ordered and we were all proud members of the clean plate club. The rib eye was worthy of any Montana steak house and the roasted mussels rivaled the freshness of any seaside resort. Unique humus in three small pots, and a pesto pasta that was to die for. Our server was quick and ready to answer all our questions. He was very attentive with beverage refills and cleared our plates quickly. We loved Sam! Walker's is lucky to have such an ambassador for fine dining. Friendly without being over the top and very efficient. The surroundings are beautiful. Uber Montana without being cliche. Barbed wire lights, tall posts of faintly lit scenes of the landscape around Billings, and huge painted panels in the ceiling reminding you are in Big Sky country. So comfortable and yet just as high-end as any metropolitan dining experience New York can dish out. From the day Walker's opened in 1993 - my Mother enjoyed many outings there with friends and family. She would have been so proud that we choose this place tonight to celebrate these happy events after a fun-family-filled July 4th week. So after dinner we clinked our glasses to Mom and to her impeccable taste in restaurants. Thanks Walker's!

Love Walkers Grill! One of my favorite places to have dinner in Billings when I'm in town for business. To start with, the Walkers house salad is divine. The tiny bits of thick cut bacon, velvety roqfuert, toasted walnuts and creamy lemon vinaigrette work so well. As an entree, I usually do a half portion of pasta or one of the fish specials. The fusilli with lamb bolognese is fantastic if you like authentic Italian style pastas and I've also been pleased with the occasional pastas of the day. Do not skip the warm apple cobbler with bourbon caramel and local Wilcoxon ice cream! Best warm gooey apple dessert I've ever had and usually I only go for chocolatey desserts.

A surprising find for Billings, Walkers American Grill. I usually pass through Billings for the lack of really good dining. A wonder 8 oz. Filet, cooked medium, and fresh tomato basil soup made for a great dinner. My friend had the garlic hamburger which he enjoyed. This upscale, sophisticated restaurant was such a pleasant surprise! I stopped here on my way to Missoula and was so glad that I did. The meal was excellent (try the house salad with Stilton bleu cheese and walnuts), the wine list was great, and the service was just outstanding (Patrick was an attentive, knowledgeable waiter). Except for the generous Montana-size portions, I could have convinced myself that I was back in San Francisco! This will definitely be my go-to place next time I am in Billings!

We went here for dinner after a very rough day and had a wonderful experience. We were thinking it was more casual and wished we would have been dressed a little more appropriately. (This is a nicer "date" or special occasion place and we were thinking it was more like a bar/pub.) The atmosphere was relaxing. The decor was cool and most of all, the food was great. Their bread was soft with a dusting of sea salt on the crust. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates with chorizo and gorgonzola and the "house" salad which was anything but boring. The seared beef tacos had a spicy jalapeno sauce but were also very good. We also enjoyed the mozzarella fonduta. After those four tapas we were full and didn't order anything else, but I would definitely go back and try some of the other options. There were a lot of good-looking choices on the menu and we were not disappointed.
I have to admit: I am from Cleveland and just relocating to Billings. I am quite the food snob. Not every city is lucky to host a collection of award winning, famous chefs. This new home will take some getting used to - especially when it comes to the restaurant scene. I ordered the Huckleberry Caipiroska to start. I love Caipiroskas and Caipirinhas... so I figured this would be a good start. (And encouraging to see the Brazilian drink on the menu). It was so bitter that I could barely finish it. For an appetizer, we went with the tostones. They were good... perhaps slightly overcooked/chewy. I've had plenty of tostones all over Latin America... and I think they sliced them just a bit too think and cooked them a bit too long. The salsa was amazing though! I had the street tacos. They were served with an avocado creme fraiche that I could have licked off the plate!!! Delicious. For dessert, we had the Apple Crisp with Maker's Mark caramel sauce. Ohhhemgee. SOO good. Too bad I was too full to indulge in very much. The atmosphere of this place was awesome. For a second, it felt like I was back in CLE.

I rarely rate anything 5 * , but Walker's so exceeded our expectations and there was nothing that fell short, such that there is really no reason to drag it down with 4 *. This is the(?) up scale place to eat in Billings and its not too bad. Nice decor, good service, fairly extensive wine list, and an okay menu. I think you could do a lot worse in Billings. It bills itself as a tapas joint and has a number of small plates that fit that description. We had the goat cheese truffles... good and the mini tacos also good. Caesar salad was fine and they even provided extra anchovies on request. As a big plate, I had the buffalo osso buco which was a little dry but edible. Serving a small spoon to devour the marrow in the "osso" was a nice touch but the whole thing left me hanging.... If your in town its worthy of consideration. If I come back I'll continue searching for a great Montana experience.

As the highest rated steakhouse in Billings, I really wanted to check this place out. From the moment you walk in the decor and ambiance is great! The hostess immediately had me seated and my server, Lauren, was quite friendly and offered great recommendations both in the restaurant and activities while in Billings! It was hard for me to choose between the Buffalo in-bone ribeye or the Hawaiian swordfish: being from Seattle, I can always get seafood but its not very often you get to try Buffalo ribeye. Buffalo is a much leaner meat, with less fat it take a great chef, like the one at Walkers, to keep it moist and tender; it was a little over-peppered but other than that it was excellent! I plan on eating here every time I'm in Billings. You can expect to pay $30-45 for more entrees, about $15-30 for "small entrees," e.g. pastas, salads, etc. I don't personally drink, but I saw they had a great selection of wines and are knowledgable on pairings.

The best plates at this restaurant are the cheapest :) The bacon wrapped dates are delicious as well as the pinchos. I have also had the buffalo osso bucco it was good but not worth over $30. The lamb meatballs were a little dry and the cheese truffles are very unbalanced too much cheese not enough coating. I would say that their prices are much much higher then they should be especially for the billings area. If you are labeled as a tapas bar you should have several plates ranging from $2-8 a plate this place is more like $4-14 per plate.

Stick to the bar here. It's as good a bar as you'll ever dine at ! The restaurant itself is very nice with one minor flaw. The chairs/seats are horrible. They are slick and seem to try and force you out of them. It's the strangest thing we've ever seen in a restaurant. I actually visited there around 20 times back when they first opened and now we only go if we can get in early and sit around the bar area. The food is good and the service is good. There's not a lot of options on food but what they do serve is good. Again, if you're from out of town and in the area, arrive early, sit at the bar or one of the tables (they also have a large tapas table near the bar) and relax with appetizers. Just avoid the dining area.

Definitely agree w/ a previous reviewer that said the best plates are the cheapest. The bleu cheese bacon burger, sweet potato fries w/ 2 dips (marshmallow and cranberry), and the pizzas were very good. The tapas are tapas priced for tapas portions. The entrees are entree priced for tapas portions, unfortunately, although they are generally well done. The pretzel bread they give you while you're waiting is awesome! I'll certainly be back, but will be sticking to the tapas menu.

On a recent visit to Billings, I searched for a dinner house on Yelp. Walkers American Grill came up as a top pick. It must have gone to their head, I did not have a good experience. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad. When it was delivered to the table, It was missing the chicken, dressing and parmasian chips described on the menu. It took nearly 10 minutes to flag down my server - who immediately corrected the error. The quality of the lettuce was questionable (brown ends), and the meal was fairly expensive. I would not go back, but I am certain with the rating, my experience was an exception.

Let me cut to the chase. Everything from soup to apple crisp is superb. But the excellence of the food has a serious rival: the professionalism of the waitstaff. Reservations are honored on time, without the shilly-shallying of "we have to get your table ready." Drinks appear seemingly instantly: no wondering whether your server has forgotten them -- or you. Appetizers and first courses appear right away, too. Come hungry, because you won't have time to work up an appetite. Main courses: let me count the ways Walkers has of satisfying. Think of it this way. There's a world of difference between being filled up and being fully satisfied by the sensory experience of a fine meal. Walkers satisfies. But watch out for the bread! It is so good, along with great butter, that there's a real risk of eating too much. No, I wouldn't like to say how it is I know that... For dessert, my husband and I are convinced that the apple cobbler is the best we've tasted, ever. It is scrumptious. How can a so-often banal dessert rise to the realm of the transcendent? I don't actually know. But it does. The price point at Walkers is just a little higher than nearby restaurants, but without in any way holding back, on separate evenings we found the tab at the two places was identical. The total experience, though, was like the difference between Crown Royal and Maker's Mark. The decor is simple and elegant, fully embracing the Western theme that Billings restaurants seem to require without being heavy-handed about it. Walkers is a restaurant in a small Western city that could knock itself up against fine dining establishments in far more cosmopolitan settings. Yet it achieves this without the pretentiousness of its nearby competition. If you'd like to be filled up, Walkers can certainly manage that. But they'll do far more, and that is to satisfy. If you can dine at Walkers more often than we can because of where we live, lucky you

Salsicce Pizza - tasted like my mom's homemade pizza growing up, you know, Raggu out of the can, shredded mozz out of the bag, and undercooked bread-like dough. The cheese was barely melted, the sauce had way too much white onion. I love my mom, I just don't want her cooking when Im at a pseudo-expensive restaurant. Bread Pudding - good, served as a slice kind of like banana bread. Maybe it was an off night, maybe the kitchen just didn't like us.

This place came up near the top on Yelp for Billings, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I must've missed something in the descriptions because I didn't realize how upscale Walkers was gonna be until I walked in and had a seat. It's not as fancy as Ruth's Chris, say, but still formal enough to make me uncomfortable as I sat by myself and tried to read a magazine. The prices are a little steep ($34 for Scampi Prawns??) but you do get a good-size portion. The menu is full of interesting items (Crispy Duck, Sea Bass) but missing a few things you'd think would be no-brainers (Fillet Mignon, New York Strip). I ordered the Buffalo Osso Buco, marinated in Cabernet Sauvignon then cooked in its own juices. Little did I know this was code for roast beef tasting of stale warm wine. Live and learn. I also had the Little Neck Clams as an appetizer and they - along with the broth they were served in - were phenomenal! If I had stopped at the clams, it would've been a great (if not very filling) meal. A restaurant with great service and great food is a no-brainer for return trips time after time. I don't think Walker's is one of those places. The service was fantastic (Olivia, your hair ROCKED and your smile was even better. And much respect to you or whoever came up with the line, "I've got secrets. Wanna hear'em?") but the food was too busy for my taste. I WILL, however, say that the bar seems like a great place to take a young lady for the foo-foo drink of her choice. Despite Olivia, I'd have to be really bored to make a return trip to Walker's.

Walkers may be the best combination of food and ambiance in Billings. It is a visually appealing restaurant from the moment you walk in. It has a great bar that does many types of drinks well (good martinis). The food is very good and service is usually attentive. Most trips there I get the Buffalo Osso Buco, which is always tender and delicious. I decided on 4 stars instead of 5 because it can be a little loud to have conversions and food can be inconsistent at times, which it should not be at a place this nice or at this price point. Overall though, it is a great place for dinner or drinks.

It's been about 12 years since my previous visits to Walkers and I was pleased to find that they are still there on my last visit to Billings. I'm not sure if it was their original location or just their old location that visited in the late 90's, but their new location (at least new to me) is easier to get to/find. It seems like they now have more of a western theme than before . . .I don't remember the cow skull and barbed wire light fixtures. I will say it's the best I've experienced in Billings. I ate dinner at the bar, it's not very big, and I had to get the bartenders (2 of them) attention a few times rather than them noticing who needed something. I observed a few other patrons in the same situation. But, overall a good experience.

I bought dinner for a couple of co-workers... we randomly picked this place while staying at the Crown (I gave the Crown 2 stars). Walker's was excellent. The staff is superb, very good steak dinner (I had the ribeye I think) and the salad was excellent (even by Californian's standards). I was too full to try any dessert, but I'm sure that would have been over the top as well. Pretty good live jazz band playing while we were there. Also ate at Jake's... no comparison... Jake's sucks pretty bad, stick with Walker's if you are in the area. Prices are comparable (both seem steep for Billings), but Walker's is definitely worth it for the quality & staff service. My compliments.. sincerely, can't wait to be back.

This place is overrated, overpriced and overcooked. I have yet to have a properly cooked anything here and I have gone back half a dozen times to make sure that the restaurant while under Mike Callahan's leadership that was so amazing in the Cellar 301 space hadn't truly slipped but it has. The decor is great and Troy Evans really is an amazing and talented artist, the staff is amazing as well and are always on top of guests needs. All said the food is lackluster and completely uninspired as are most restaurants in the "Bar"muda triangle of downtown Billings. My suggestion... Going to Walker's was such a pleasant surprise! We ordered drinks, the house special pasta (eggplant, asparagus, and olives) which turned out to be amazing! We also ordered the little beef tacos, beet salad with fresh Montana goat cheese and for dessert an apple dessert with ice cream. Everything we had including the drinks and service was amazing. Thank you for saving us from our experience with the restaurant across the street - (Jake's which was the worst meal ever!)

The kitchen has gotten clumsier with their dishes and it escapes their notice or concern. We've been back twice in the last 6 months since I posted the original review. We won't go again. The "head chef" responsible for ensuring quality and taste isn't doing her job, not willing to taste the food sent back (a very oily, sloppy pesto pizza tonight) or, when I asked to speak to her, step out to talk to dining customers. Food charged to the owners ends in the trash, no apology, no explanation. Is this what passes for leadership? Wow. Soggy, limp, overdressed salads poorly presented as well also escaped her notice. This is food that isn't the least bit complicated to get right. The only positive I can mention is the soup (black bean) which was good on this occasion. It was the only edible item we ordered tonight. Dessert? We didn't bother. Until the standard comes back, I'm not returning.

Mmm still thinking about the ribeye we ate here. Was planning to eat at the steakhouse across the street but it was closed so we came to Walkers instead and were not disappointed! The ribeye was so tasty, served mash, broccoli and an herb butter, although granted these Montana steaks do not need butter! :) Highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Billings.

Excellent service and overall atmosphere. *Tapas menus* Steak/Seafood options give you many choices here, even depending on how hungry you are. Felt like I was back in the Bay Area instead of remote Montana! the food: Ceaser salad - top notch and very tasty Scallops entree (spicy)- I not the biggest scallop fan to begin with, but I took a chance on this entree and it was just okay, probably better options off of the grill, but sometimes its good to try something different! The bread pudding dessert item was awesome. Comfort foodie to the max! $37 well spent.

The urban cowboy appearance fits nicely with Billings. The wait staff is exceptional and there is no waiting if you have a reservation. Be prepared to wait if you don't. The tapas is outstanding, I can't pick out one as my favorite, they are all darn good. The Walker is not the best food in Billings, but when you are downtown, it is one of the best around. We are regulars in Billings and also at Walkers, among other places. Go for the tapas, the friendly and knowledgeable wait staff and the gathering of people. Great place.

Great decor, excellent service, and terrific food! I highly recommend! My boyfriend and I sat at the bar, and the bartender (Keith) was awesome. We shared the beet salad with goat cheese (my favorite), the mussels, and the calamari which was in a delicious broth with a hint of orange zest. Looking forward to stopping in again at our next Montana visit!

A-MAZ-ING!!! We live in Seattle and go out all the time to great restaurants but this was the best meal I've had in over a year. Get the filet with morels. It's to die for! And the cocktails with fresh squeezed juices.... I wish we hadn't bothered with the drinks at the hotel when these were right across the street. Also, we arrived at 9:40pm when they close at 10:00pm but the waitstaff greeted us with a smile and were happy to find us a table. Awesome, professional service. We will definitely go again before we leave Billings!

Wow! Walkers has been recommended for years but we finally got there. ...could be the best restaurant in the State of Montana. We brought a guest from the local blues festival for dinner before the show . Greeted by the best looking door-person Valet Our dinner res. was ready and waiting. We entered a contemporary space on a prominent downtown corner decorated with a nod to western chic art , granite and mirrors. A cold martini and red wine were served from the bar as we mulled over the dinner possibilities. An attractive offering of specials were described in addition to the irresistible menu. We opted for bison ribeyes and swordfish on an Asian salad. Both were "world Class" perfect. Beautifully grilled bison steaks were served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes. The swordfish was perfectly seared, quickly sliced and served with pink warm center atop a pile of chopped Asian noodle salad. In a hurry we ordered coffee and shared a Walkers apple crisp. Mugs of rich dark coffee accompanied a bowl of warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream . Driving out of town Sunday morning my wife suggested that it might be reasonable to make the 150 mile drive again for the sole reason of dining at Walkers. We will. I understand Mr. Miller enjoyed the bison steak.

Great food, nice atmosphere. The food is about as good as I've had in Montana, the waitstaff is friendly, and the atmosphere is just casual enough to be comfortable. You can't go wrong eating at Walkers. My only real complaint with this place is they don't seem to understand how tapas usually work. Typically the table orders several tapas, you share it around, and then you order another round (or three). The one time we tried to order this way the tapas servings weren't prepared for sharing and the wait staff didn't check in regularly to see if we wanted more rounds. But hey, Billings is a long way from Spain and the normal food is pretty dang good.

Something I didn't notice about walker's in previous years but did notice on this year's holiday trip: their wine list is about a thousand times better than any of the other high end restaurants in town (comparing here to jake's and enzo, and what I remember of the granary from last year). Had a divine chevre en croute here on sunday night that was the best thing to enter my mouth on this year's trip. THE BREAD PUDDING IS AMAZING! I hope it stays on the menu.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here recently. It sure beats the Olive Garden. (As in don't be suprised when asking your friend's 12 year old where mom would want to go for a suprise birthday dinner!) Nice atmosphere/ambiance, I was really impressed for my first trip to Billings. In our group, everthing we ordered (NY steak, pasta, pork chops) was cooked to perfection, well seasoned, and great presentation. The staff here is wonderful and attentive, making my fly-in, suprise birthday dinner a success!!

Probably one of the best 3 or 4 restaurants in Billings but definitely the best martini bar anywhere around. A great place to go to relax in a classy atmosphere without having to be blasted by sports on the big screen. Great views of downtown out the panoramic glass wall behind the bar. Many interesting signature drinks to choose from like their ginger sidecar. Some choices on the menu may be a tad out there for the Montana crowd but maybe they need a little exposure to the outside world.

Maybe the only place in Billings that would easily fit into NYC. A nice bar with a fantastically priced wine selection. Many ingredients were surprisingly good quality (e.g., locally produced goat cheese), though the buffalo milk mozzarella was expectedly lackluster. (I bet they could make good mozzarella di bufala in Montana though!) I would be highly surprised if you could find better food and drink in Billings. The prices and service were great too. Highly recommended.

I remember going to this restaurant as a kid before they moved to their current location and luckily their delicious, skinny, salty fries haven't changed. Unfortunately it seems a few other things have changed (I believe they have had several different chefs in recent years) and the food isn't as delicious as it used to be. The New York strip steak is still great and simple (comes with green beans and mashed potatos). The new location is beautifully decorated with a tasteful "Rustic Western" theme and the service is very good. There's also a great atmosphere: the bar area seems to be very popular with the 30 and 40 somethings of Billings, while the dining area is great for anyone (families, couples, groups). They also have jazz nights.

My family of three just had tapas at Walkers and we all felt that it rated a WOW! The bacon wrapped dates were salty and sweet and just amazing. The pork belly lettuce wraps were melt-in-your-mouth tender and flavorful. The meat and cheese tray had a great contrast of flavors and textures. The fried calamari was also tasty, but needed a little salt. Lastly, the hummus was delicious with a sweet tomato compote on top. Everything was great. Our waiter Sam was sweet and enthusiastic. He was very knowledgable about the menu and dishes and gave us great advice. We ordered about 8 dishes between the three of us and left totally stuffed (my 14 year old son can pack it away!). I only wish I lived closer so we could come all the time. Those of you living in Billings are lucky to have such a great restaurant! Yum!

The good: Ambiance is classy and jazzy. Not pompous as some of the higher end places can be. I appreciated the piano playing in the bar area separated by a semi wall and loved the painted barbed wire chandeliers. The bad: Brussels sprout side medley was charcoal burnt on the lamb dish. The lamb was requested as medium but was BARELY medium rare (some parts were inedible). Redemption leading to 3 star recovery: Under different circumstances cooking the lamb and veggies badly would not even get 3 stars but the food that was done well was superb. The hummus was delicious and I consider myself somewhat of a hummus expert. The mint beef satay salad was also done very nicely. The good food along with the impressive atmosphere definitely earned 3 stars despite the bad.

Im in Billings for a week for work and i had a coworkers strongly recommend Walker's. Wow, just wow. I was so happy with my meal tonight. I decided to sit at the bar and start with a glass of cabernet sauvignon. Delicious. The bartender was attentive and helpful. He offered me bread and butter to munch on which i rarely see when i sit at the bar in a restaurant I decided to stick with small plates and the first thing i got was the carpaccio. It was heavenly. The meat melted in my mouth and the olive oil and salt complimented the rich taste of the meat. I tried to eat slow so i could savor every bite. The next thing i got was the pork belly lettuce cups. Again. Another good choice. The pork belly was fatty and buttery with a good amount of sauce. The pickled apples ( i think thats what was on them?) were refreshing and went well with with the pork. I also love anything with crushed peanut on top. I was getting pretty full at this point so i skipped right for dessert. I usually dont go for the chocolate lava cake esque desserts but i was really craving chocolate. I got the chocolate souffle and it came out piping hot. The bartender told me to poke the top and let it cool down. After a few minutes it was perfect. The entire thing was moist and gooey. Usually the edges dry out but they cooked it perfectly. Next time im in town i will definitely be back!!

Yum! This place is a bit confusing though, we wanted just wine and tapas, the place looks very high end, like you have to order dinner. But we asked, and that was okay. One star off because it was too hot in the restaurant. Turn on the AC in the summer! We were served delicious bread and butter right off. The wine list is pretty good, and reasonably priced for glasses or bottles. We had pork belly, bruschetta, and peppers. All were really good. I could eat that pork belly all day. It was rich and sinfully yummy! I wanted to lick the plate, but this place is too classy for that! Too bad we had no room for dessert, it looked good!

This hip spot is located just off of Broadway downtown. It has three parts to the food menu - small, medium and large. I stuck to small and had pickled brussel sprouts to start. Tangy and crunchy with good flavor. I combined that with a dark and stormy cocktail and watched the game while the host was kind enough to find a place to charge my mobile. I moved on to the hummus and pita with tomato compote which was a little sweet with the tomato but good none the less. I debated between a wine by the glass as the selection is nice but went back to the gingery goodness of my dark and stormy. If I had more room I was going to hit either the homemade chicken pate or the popcorn sweetbreads. Next time. Sunday is jazz night btw. Live music in the bar area.

I was in Billings for business and I was not disappointed by Walker's. One of my clients recommended it and it was great. Staff is super friendly and the scallops were crazy good. The cannelloni with seafood inside and a lemon sauce was the best too. If you're in town, definitely stop in!

What the F David Blaine?! This place is sorcery. I did not know food this good could have found its place in Montana. Atmosphere was a mix of modern style furniture with the classic look of prohibition type bars. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Now don't even get me started on the food and drinks.. I started with a Walkers Tea Tini and felt the same feeling I did the day America first gained its independence from the British. I moved along with some Blue Crab Tots and was at a loss of words. The Walkers punch and Seared Beef Soft Tacos left me wondering what the h3ll I was doing in Montana in the first place. I wrapped up my meal with the Milk Chocolate Bread Pudding and was almost brought to tears. Don't kid yourself, if you're on yelp and you've read this entire review and are still trying to decide where to go for dinner, then you are crazy.

So enjoyed this place! Was in from out of town and a friend who had moved to Billings about a year before recommended it, and it did not disappoint. I had the house salad, after which we shared the special, which was a wild mushroom risotto. We then shared the Artisan meat and cheese plate. What a great combination! The meats included prosciutto (not the best cut but delicious), salami and duck breast, and the cheeses included a roquefort, goat cheese rolled in a coating I can't recall, and a third cheese -- not great with names this evening, but boy, it was all delicious! The bread was outstanding as well. I had a glass of the Tempranilo which was excellent. This was more than enough for two people; we were satisfied, but not overwhelmed; now that I've read all the reviews for the desserts I wish we'd cut one thing out so we could've saved room! Our server was very nice -- attentive but not too much. She came by to clear once and we said, very nicely, that we were still working -- and she got immediately that we were old friends catching up and gave us some space. Really appreciated that. If I have the pleasure of returning to this area, I definitely plan to come here again.

We've been back several times sine my last review. I really love this place. There is a vast selection of tapas (we love the bacon wrapped dates and the tacos) and delicious cocktails. We so want the food to be good as it is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Billings. The bar is a fabulous place to hang out. Good place. I liked the ambiance. Classy and informal at the same time. I really like how you can look into the kitchen. I had the daily soup special. Black bean pure with a goat cheese cream. REALLY GOOD! For the entree, I had the lamb dish. It was good. Something in the side tasted a tiny bit burnt. That dish overall was a bit... Interesting. Tasted good but very weirdly plated. A really big plate with all the food pushed to one side. Again... Interesting style hahah I had the bread pudding for dessert and it was good too. The ice cream is what made that dish. SOOOOO GOOOD! The service was AWESOME! Couldn't ask for a better waitress. Overall, 4/5 stars. I would come back.

Our family of 7 adults and 1 totally cute, restaurant-ready toddler showed up for a Sunday night dinner. It was a birthday for my nephew and anniversary dinner for my niece and nephew. Walker's was my Mothers favorite restaurant, so in her memory we choose to celebrate there. The menu absolutely appealed to everyone. Some small plates, and a few entrees. Everyone loved what they ordered and we were all proud members of the clean plate club. The rib eye was worthy of any Montana steak house and the roasted mussels rivaled the freshness of any seaside resort. Unique humus in three small pots, and a pesto pasta that was to die for. Our server was quick and ready to answer all our questions. He was very attentive with beverage refills and cleared our plates quickly. We loved Sam! Walker's is lucky to have such an ambassador for fine dining. Friendly without being over the top and very efficient. The surroundings are beautiful. Uber Montana without being cliche. Barbed wire lights, tall posts of faintly lit scenes of the landscape around Billings, and huge painted panels in the ceiling reminding you are in Big Sky country. So comfortable and yet just as high-end as any metropolitan dining experience New York can dish out. From the day Walker's opened in 1993 - my Mother enjoyed many outings there with friends and family. She would have been so proud that we choose this place tonight to celebrate these happy events after a fun-family-filled July 4th week. So after dinner we clinked our glasses to Mom and to her impeccable taste in restaurants. Thanks Walker's!

Love Walkers Grill! One of my favorite places to have dinner in Billings when I'm in town for business. To start with, the Walkers house salad is divine. The tiny bits of thick cut bacon, velvety roqfuert, toasted walnuts and creamy lemon vinaigrette work so well. As an entree, I usually do a half portion of pasta or one of the fish specials. The fusilli with lamb bolognese is fantastic if you like authentic Italian style pastas and I've also been pleased with the occasional pastas of the day. Do not skip the warm apple cobbler with bourbon caramel and local Wilcoxon ice cream! Best warm gooey apple dessert I've ever had and usually I only go for chocolatey desserts.

A surprising find for Billings, Walkers American Grill. I usually pass through Billings for the lack of really good dining. A wonder 8 oz. Filet, cooked medium, and fresh tomato basil soup made for a great dinner. My friend had the garlic hamburger which he enjoyed. The bread and butter service was great with firmly textured white bread topped with sea salt. Wish I would have not eaten it all so I could make French Toast the next morning.

This upscale, sophisticated restaurant was such a pleasant surprise! I stopped here on my way to Missoula and was so glad that I did. The meal was excellent (try the house salad with Stilton bleu cheese and walnuts), the wine list was great, and the service was just outstanding (Patrick was an attentive, knowledgeable waiter). Except for the generous Montana-size portions, I could have convinced myself that I was back in San Francisco! This will definitely be my go-to place next time I am in Billings!

We went here for dinner after a very rough day and had a wonderful experience. We were thinking it was more casual and wished we would have been dressed a little more appropriately. (This is a nicer "date" or special occasion place and we were thinking it was more like a bar/pub.) The atmosphere was relaxing. The decor was cool and most of all, the food was great. Their bread was soft with a dusting of sea salt on the crust. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates with chorizo and gorgonzola and the "house" salad which was anything but boring. The seared beef tacos had a spicy jalapeno sauce but were also very good. We also enjoyed the mozzarella fonduta. After those four tapas we were full and didn't order anything else, but I would definitely go back and try some of the other options. There were a lot of good-looking choices on the menu and we were not disappointed.

I have to admit: I am from Cleveland and just relocating to Billings. I am quite the food snob. Not every city is lucky to host a collection of award winning, famous chefs. This new home will take some getting used to - especially when it comes to the restaurant scene. I ordered the Huckleberry Caipiroska to start. I love Caipiroskas and Caipirinhas... so I figured this would be a good start. (And encouraging to see the Brazilian drink on the menu). It was so bitter that I could barely finish it. For an appetizer, we went with the tostones. They were good... perhaps slightly overcooked/chewy. I've had plenty of tostones all over Latin America... and I think they sliced them just a bit too think and cooked them a bit too long. The salsa was amazing though! I had the street tacos. They were served with an avocado creme fraiche that I could have licked off the plate!!! Delicious. For dessert, we had the Apple Crisp with Maker's Mark caramel sauce. Ohhhemgee. SOO good. Too bad I was too full to indulge in very much. The atmosphere of this place was awesome. For a second, it felt like I was back in CLE.

Trying to find a nicer open restaurant in Billings can be a challenge on a Monday. Most of our usual standbys were closed.Thankfully Walker's was open! And, given the dearth of open restaurants, was unsurprisingly packed. We got a reservation though so we were good to go. Decor is very nice here, kind of a nouveau West. They incorporate leather (or fake leather, I have no idea) around the pillars and artful barbed wire constructs around the light fixtures. Drinks - I got the Basil Haven which was nice and refreshing. There was a bright green piece of cucumber perched on top of my ice which only accented the pretty darker greens of basil leaves in the drink. It was surprisingly sweet, not something I was looking for in a pre-dinner drink but would be refreshing if you were just going to get some appetizers and a beverage. Appetizers - Sweet Potato Fries. These were really thin crispy sweet potato fries. You know how it feels like just about everybody is doing sweet potato fries? I feel like they've really exploded on the scene in the last couple of years and usually, they're so "blah, just order regular potato." Not here. Make sure you specify the sweet. They're served with a goopy brown sauce that at first looks really unappetizing. Try a bite of it though. It's a "pecan-maple marshmallow cream" ... yeah, you heard me. The cream's sweetness accents the savory aspects of the fries, but a little sauce goes a long way. Crispy Shrimp. Large shrimps wrapped in like a spring roll wrapper, fried and then gently drizzled with some ginger glaze. Nice, light and crispy. The ginger glaze was not at all overwhelming and was quite sweet, although I could have used some heat from the ginger. Definitely will order this again. Mozzarella Fonduta. This is where I was a little bit disappointed. A few slices of bread surrounded a shallow boal of brownish liquid with mozzarella pieces peering up at us. It looked a little sad to be honest. It tasted alright - mozzarella and balsamic, but it was less "balsamic drizzle" and more dirty balsamic pond. Dinner - Sashimi Grade Seared Marlin. This was really excellent, there was a filet of marlin that had been seared, cut into sashimi-like squares and fanned across a bed of bright mixed vegetables. Half a head of grilled romaine lay next to the veggies. I had no idea grilling romaine would give it a warm, almost charred flavor. The vegetables were a mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and maybe basil(?). I thought they would be a little overwhelming because it looked like raw onions and cucumbers but no, again excellent. I don't know if they were soaked or grilled or sautéed, but they were fantastic. The fish was top quality too. It tasted super fresh - was nice and raw on the inside (yay! for sashimi grade!) and was perfectly seared on the outside. Not too cooked and not too raw which gave a lovely gradient of deep pinks from the raw center of the fish to light pinks, to white to seared brown. Just lovely. One piece did seem to have a little extra bit of connective tissue, but overall it was prepared so well I just ignored that one piece. Dessert - Angel Food Cake. A really fluffy and airy cake. Had some fresh berries on top. The lavender whipped cream was also very good and clearly house made. Although I could have used a little more lavender flavor, some people in our party really appreciated the subtlety though. Wine - This is where we have a bit of an interesting story. It was my boyfriend's birthday so he was going to select the wine this evening. After perusing the menu, he settled on a Spanish Verdejo, since we almost never drink Spanish wine and wanted to give it a try. When the bottle came back he quickly approved it (because we never know how to handle these things! It feels awkward and I don't know how I would even begin to handle sending a bottle back!) Anyways, it was a great bottle, nicely drinkable, a little sweet. They I started looking at the bottle, because it was really beautiful and I noticed all the French text... on our Spanish wine?! He had brought us a Muscadet! And we had approved it! So awkward. We talked about it and told our server, Kelly, about the mix up. He very graciously brought us the Verdejo we initially ordered. Both wines were very easy to drink, refreshing whites. Although the Verdejo did end up having more oomph than the initial Muscadet.

This is the(?) up scale place to eat in Billings and its not too bad. Nice decor, good service, fairly extensive wine list, and an okay menu. I think you could do a lot worse in Billings. It bills itself as a tapas joint and has a number of small plates that fit that description. We had the goat cheese truffles... good and the mini tacos also good. Caesar salad was fine and they even provided extra anchovies on request. As a big plate, I had the buffalo osso buco which was a little dry but edible. Serving a small spoon to devour the marrow in the "osso" was a nice touch but the whole thing left me hanging.... If your in town its worthy of consideration. If I come back I'll continue searching for a great Montana experience.

As the highest rated steakhouse in Billings, I really wanted to check this place out. From the moment you walk in the decor and ambiance is great! The hostess immediately had me seated and my server, Lauren, was quite friendly and offered great recommendations both in the restaurant and activities while in Billings! It was hard for me to choose between the Buffalo in-bone ribeye or the Hawaiian swordfish: being from Seattle, I can always get seafood but its not very often you get to try Buffalo ribeye. Buffalo is a much leaner meat, with less fat it take a great chef, like the one at Walkers, to keep it moist and tender; it was a little over-peppered but other than that it was excellent! I plan on eating here every time I'm in Billings. You can expect to pay $30-45 for more entrees, about $15-30 for "small entrees," e.g. pastas, salads, etc. I don't personally drink, but I saw they had a great selection of wines and are knowledgable on pairings.

The best plates at this restaurant are the cheapest :) The bacon wrapped dates are delicious as well as the pinchos. I have also had the buffalo osso bucco it was good but not worth over $30. The lamb meatballs were a little dry and the cheese truffles are very unbalanced too much cheese not enough coating. I would say that their prices are much much higher then they should be especially for the billings area. If you are labeled as a tapas bar you should have several plates ranging from $2-8 a plate this place is more like $4-14 per plate.

Stick to the bar here. It's as good a bar as you'll ever dine at ! The restaurant itself is very nice with one minor flaw. The chairs/seats are horrible. They are slick and seem to try and force you out of them. It's the strangest thing we've ever seen in a restaurant. I actually visited there around 20 times back when they first opened and now we only go if we can get in early and sit around the bar area. The food is good and the service is good. There's not a lot of options on food but what they do serve is good. Again, if you're from out of town and in the area, arrive early, sit at the bar or one of the tables (they also have a large tapas table near the bar) and relax with appetizers. Just avoid the dining area.

Definitely agree w/ a previous reviewer that said the best plates are the cheapest. The bleu cheese bacon burger, sweet potato fries w/ 2 dips (marshmallow and cranberry), and the pizzas were very good. The tapas are tapas priced for tapas portions. The entrees are entree priced for tapas portions, unfortunately, although they are generally well done. The pretzel bread they give you while you're waiting is awesome! I'll certainly be back, but will be sticking to the tapas menu.

On a recent visit to Billings, I searched for a dinner house on Yelp. Walkers American Grill came up as a top pick. It must have gone to their head, I did not have a good experience. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad. When it was delivered to the table, It was missing the chicken, dressing and parmasian chips described on the menu. It took nearly 10 minutes to flag down my server - who immediately corrected the error. The quality of the lettuce was questionable (brown ends), and the meal was fairly expensive. I would not go back, but I am certain with the rating, my experience was an exception.

Let me cut to the chase. Everything from soup to apple crisp is superb. But the excellence of the food has a serious rival: the professionalism of the waitstaff. Reservations are honored on time, without the shilly-shallying of "we have to get your table ready." The server appears promptly and is able to recite the evening's specials without being coaxed to do so. Drinks appear seemingly instantly: no wondering whether your server has forgotten them -- or you. Appetizers and first courses appear right away, too. Come hungry, because you won't have time to work up an appetite. Main courses: let me count the ways Walkers has of satisfying. Think of it this way. There's a world of difference between being filled up and being fully satisfied by the sensory experience of a fine meal. Walkers satisfies. But watch out for the bread! It is so good, along with great butter, that there's a real risk of eating too much. No, I wouldn't like to say how it is I know that... For dessert, my husband and I are convinced that the apple cobbler is the best we've tasted, ever. It is scrumptious. How can a so-often banal dessert rise to the realm of the transcendent? I don't actually know. But it does. The price point at Walkers is just a little higher than nearby restaurants, but without in any way holding back, on separate evenings we found the tab at the two places was identical. The total experience, though, was like the difference between Crown Royal and Maker's Mark. The decor is simple and elegant, fully embracing the Western theme that Billings restaurants seem to require without being heavy-handed about it. Walkers is a restaurant in a small Western city that could knock itself up against fine dining establishments in far more cosmopolitan settings. Yet it achieves this without the pretentiousness of its nearby competition. If you'd like to be filled up, Walkers can certainly manage that. But they'll do far more, and that is to satisfy. If you can dine at Walkers more often than we can because of where we live, lucky you

The environment is very upscale and the service is excellent. I was disappointed in my recent steak. It was a ribeye, prepared as I requested but very flavorless, needed more seasoning. Otherwise the rest of the meal was excellent, especially the Walkers salad-one of my favorites!

Ambiance: Very nice, urban cowboy, I really liked the barbwire chandeliers. Service: Great, I mean really great. Some of the best service I have had in recent memory. Prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, sense of humor. Food: Lacking. Walker Salad - 3 crumbles of cheese, 2 bite size pieces of bacon. Overall flavorless. Kraft and iceberg lettuce would have been tastier. Salsicce Pizza - tasted like my mom's homemade pizza growing up, you know, Raggu out of the can, shredded mozz out of the bag, and undercooked bread-like dough. The cheese was barely melted, the sauce had way too much white onion. I love my mom, I just don't want her cooking when Im at a pseudo-expensive restaurant. Bread Pudding - good, served as a slice kind of like banana bread. Maybe it was an off night, maybe the kitchen just didn't like us.

This place came up near the top on Yelp for Billings, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I must've missed something in the descriptions because I didn't realize how upscale Walkers was gonna be until I walked in and had a seat. It's not as fancy as Ruth's Chris, say, but still formal enough to make me uncomfortable as I sat by myself and tried to read a magazine. The prices are a little steep ($34 for Scampi Prawns??) but you do get a good-size portion. The menu is full of interesting items (Crispy Duck, Sea Bass) but missing a few things you'd think would be no-brainers (Fillet Mignon, New York Strip). I ordered the Buffalo Osso Buco, marinated in Cabernet Sauvignon then cooked in its own juices. Little did I know this was code for roast beef tasting of stale warm wine. Live and learn. I also had the Little Neck Clams as an appetizer and they - along with the broth they were served in - were phenomenal! If I had stopped at the clams, it would've been a great (if not very filling) meal. A restaurant with great service and great food is a no-brainer for return trips time after time. I don't think Walker's is one of those places. The service was fantastic (Olivia, your hair ROCKED and your smile was even better. And much respect to you or whoever came up with the line, "I've got secrets. Wanna hear'em?") but the food was too busy for my taste. I WILL, however, say that the bar seems like a great place to take a young lady for the foo-foo drink of her choice. Despite Olivia, I'd have to be really bored to make a return trip to Walker's.

Walkers may be the best combination of food and ambiance in Billings. It is a visually appealing restaurant from the moment you walk in. It has a great bar that does many types of drinks well (good martinis). The food is very good and service is usually attentive. Most trips there I get the Buffalo Osso Buco, which is always tender and delicious. I decided on 4 stars instead of 5 because it can be a little loud to have conversions and food can be inconsistent at times, which it should not be at a place this nice or at this price point. Overall though, it is a great place for dinner or drinks.

It's been about 12 years since my previous visits to Walkers and I was pleased to find that they are still there on my last visit to Billings. I'm not sure if it was their original location or just their old location that visited in the late 90's, but their new location (at least new to me) is easier to get to/find. It seems like they now have more of a western theme than before . . .I don't remember the cow skull and barbed wire light fixtures. I will say it's the best I've experienced in Billings. I ate dinner at the bar, it's not very big, and I had to get the bartenders (2 of them) attention a few times rather than them noticing who needed something. I observed a few other patrons in the same situation. But, overall a good experience.

I bought dinner for a couple of co-workers... we randomly picked this place while staying at the Crown (I gave the Crown 2 stars). Walker's was excellent. The staff is superb, very good steak dinner (I had the ribeye I think) and the salad was excellent (even by Californian's standards). I was too full to try any dessert, but I'm sure that would have been over the top as well. Pretty good live jazz band playing while we were there. Also ate at Jake's... no comparison... Jake's sucks pretty bad, stick with Walker's if you are in the area. Prices are comparable (both seem steep for Billings), but Walker's is definitely worth it for the quality & staff service. My compliments.. sincerely, can't wait to be back.

This place is overrated, overpriced and overcooked. I have yet to have a properly cooked anything here and I have gone back half a dozen times to make sure that the restaurant while under Mike Callahan's leadership that was so amazing in the Cellar 301 space hadn't truly slipped but it has. The decor is great and Troy Evans really is an amazing and talented artist, the staff is amazing as well and are always on top of guests needs. All said the food is lackluster and completely uninspired as are most restaurants in the "Bar"muda triangle of downtown Billings. My suggestion... Honaker don't get a new chef... get Gordan Ramsey from Kitchen Nightmares. Fundamentally fix the menu and kitchen staff because "tapas" is so overdone. Hey while we are at it... Enzo's sucks too!!

The kitchen has gotten clumsier with their dishes and it escapes their notice or concern. We've been back twice in the last 6 months since I posted the original review. We won't go again. The "head chef" responsible for ensuring quality and taste isn't doing her job, not willing to taste the food sent back (a very oily, sloppy pesto pizza tonight) or, when I asked to speak to her, step out to talk to dining customers. Food charged to the owners ends in the trash, no apology, no explanation. Is this what passes for leadership? Wow. Soggy, limp, overdressed salads poorly presented as well also escaped her notice. This is food that isn't the least bit complicated to get right. The only positive I can mention is the soup (black bean) which was good on this occasion. It was the only edible item we ordered tonight. Dessert? We didn't bother. Until the standard comes back, I'm not returning.

Excellent service and overall atmosphere. *Tapas menus* Steak/Seafood options give you many choices here, even depending on how hungry you are. Felt like I was back in the Bay Area instead of remote Montana! the food: Ceaser salad - top notch and very tasty Scallops entree (spicy)- I not the biggest scallop fan to begin with, but I took a chance on this entree and it was just okay, probably better options off of the grill, but sometimes its good to try something different! The bread pudding dessert item was awesome. Comfort foodie to the max! $37 well spent.

The urban cowboy appearance fits nicely with Billings. The wait staff is exceptional and there is no waiting if you have a reservation. Be prepared to wait if you don't. The tapas is outstanding, I can't pick out one as my favorite, they are all darn good. The Walker is not the best food in Billings, but when you are downtown, it is one of the best around. We are regulars in Billings and also at Walkers, among other places. Go for the tapas, the friendly and knowledgeable wait staff and the gathering of people. Great place.

Great decor, excellent service, and terrific food! I highly recommend! My boyfriend and I sat at the bar, and the bartender (Keith) was awesome. We shared the beet salad with goat cheese (my favorite), the mussels, and the calamari which was in a delicious broth with a hint of orange zest. A-MAZ-ING!!! We live in Seattle and go out all the time to great restaurants but this was the best meal I've had in over a year. Get the filet with morels. It's to die for! And the cocktails with fresh squeezed juices.... I wish we hadn't bothered with the drinks at the hotel when these were right across the street. Also, we arrived at 9:40pm when they close at 10:00pm but the waitstaff greeted us with a smile and were happy to find us a table. Awesome, professional service. We will definitely go again before we leave Billings!

Wow! Walkers has been recommended for years but we finally got there. ...could be the best restaurant in the State of Montana. We brought a guest from the local blues festival for dinner before the show . Greeted by the best looking door-person Valet Our dinner res. was ready and waiting. We entered a contemporary space on a prominent downtown corner decorated with a nod to western chic art , granite and mirrors. A cold martini and red wine were served from the bar as we mulled over the dinner possibilities. An attractive offering of specials were described in addition to the irresistible menu. We opted for bison ribeyes and swordfish on an Asian salad. Both were "world Class" perfect. Beautifully grilled bison steaks were served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes. The swordfish was perfectly seared, quickly sliced and served with pink warm center atop a pile of chopped Asian noodle salad. In a hurry we ordered coffee and shared a Walkers apple crisp. Mugs of rich dark coffee accompanied a bowl of warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream . Driving out of town Sunday morning my wife suggested that it might be reasonable to make the 150 mile drive again for the sole reason of dining at Walkers. We will. I understand Mr. Miller enjoyed the bison steak.

Great food, nice atmosphere. The food is about as good as I've had in Montana, the waitstaff is friendly, and the atmosphere is just casual enough to be comfortable. You can't go wrong eating at Walkers. My only real complaint with this place is they don't seem to understand how tapas usually work. Typically the table orders several tapas, you share it around, and then you order another round (or three). The one time we tried to order this way the tapas servings weren't prepared for sharing and the wait staff didn't check in regularly to see if we wanted more rounds. But hey, Billings is a long way from Spain and the normal food is pretty dang good.

Something I didn't notice about walker's in previous years but did notice on this year's holiday trip: their wine list is about a thousand times better than any of the other high end restaurants in town (comparing here to jake's and enzo, and what I remember of the granary from last year). Had a divine chevre en croute here on sunday night that was the best thing to enter my mouth on this year's trip. THE BREAD PUDDING IS AMAZING! I hope it stays on the menu.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here recently. It sure beats the Olive Garden. (As in don't be suprised when asking your friend's 12 year old where mom would want to go for a suprise birthday dinner!) Nice atmosphere/ambiance, I was really impressed for my first trip to Billings. In our group, everthing we ordered (NY steak, pasta, pork chops) was cooked to perfection, well seasoned, and great presentation. The staff here is wonderful and attentive, making my fly-in, suprise birthday dinner a success!!

Probably one of the best 3 or 4 restaurants in Billings but definitely the best martini bar anywhere around. A great place to go to relax in a classy atmosphere without having to be blasted by sports on the big screen. Great views of downtown out the panoramic glass wall behind the bar. Many interesting signature drinks to choose from like their ginger sidecar. Some choices on the menu may be a tad out there for the Montana crowd but maybe they need a little exposure to the outside world.

Maybe the only place in Billings that would easily fit into NYC. A nice bar with a fantastically priced wine selection. Many ingredients were surprisingly good quality (e.g., locally produced goat cheese), though the buffalo milk mozzarella was expectedly lackluster. (I bet they could make good mozzarella di bufala in Montana though!) I would be highly surprised if you could find better food and drink in Billings. The prices and service were great too. Highly recommended.

I remember going to this restaurant as a kid before they moved to their current location and luckily their delicious, skinny, salty fries haven't changed. Unfortunately it seems a few other things have changed (I believe they have had several different chefs in recent years) and the food isn't as delicious as it used to be. The New York strip steak is still great and simple (comes with green beans and mashed potatos). The new location is beautifully decorated with a tasteful "Rustic Western" theme and the service is very good. There's also a great atmosphere: the bar area seems to be very popular with the 30 and 40 somethings of Billings, while the dining area is great for anyone (families, couples, groups). They also have jazz nights.

Walker's is hands down one of the top restaurants in Billings and enjoys a great location downtown. The ambiance is very inviting and the interior decor is nothing if not classy, particularly for Montana. The menu is fairly diverse and there are numerous items well worth sampling. The only drawback is that its menu is overpriced. That being said, if you are in search of a quality meal, this place will not disappoint.

Actually it's pretty good for Billings. I was impressed with the use of fresh ingredients but then again I only have gone during the summer when I ate the entrees. Other than that the apps are typical bar food and it's pretty hard to mess up fries and burgers. I must say...i do love the sidecar. Good stuff.

"Phenomenal" falls short in describing our meal at Walker's. Each dining element was exquisitely crafted and presented. How this is done at such remarkable prices is equally amazing. If you're in Billings, skip the overhyped 'Jakes' and make Walker's your choice

Beautiful and tasteful Western decor including impressionist Western paintings and light shades. Tapas offerings were outstanding and beautifully presented. Smoked wild salmon, roasted mussels, fall-off-the bone ribs and others all delicious. Wait staff are well trained and our waitress was perfect. An overall pleasant experience. We would go there again.
