Usually Buzz M and I are pretty close in our reviews, I'm giving this operation a 3 and not 4 like the other operations this owner has, I did like my breakfast here yesterday the chicken fried steak was good the amount of hasbrowns were a bit sparse compared to the the other 2 operation. Ok the western and southern and the Rendezvous Casino and Burger Grill are the same owners, and the food closely match each other but the grill is primarily burgers. Very good for breakfast all three have a great chicken fried steak hand breaded funny my wife likes the sausage gravy at the western over the southern. Bit pricy for dinner havn't tried dinner but looking over their menu think a dollar or 2 bit high. Am I cheap? matters who you talk to, I tried to give a value to profit ratio at my operations to make both parties happy. Bob M

Breakfast and ONLY Breakfast. And ONLY if the Cracker Barrel is so full it's a 45 minute wait. You won't need to wait to eat here. On Sunday morning at 10:15am is empty. It's a casino on one side a small cafe on the other with cafe type food. It's hard to screw up breakfast and ours was just fine. Actually, my eggs w/ Polish sausage was quite good and cooked to near-perfection. The hash browns are a little soft and undercooked for me. Like almost everyone alive, I prefer the outside be crunchy. Toast was toast. The pancakes are HUGE and CHEAP. $4 for two pancakes and no way any human could get them both down. One is plenty. Bacon was above average. Not the thin crap you find in some restaurants but not uber thick or smoked or anything either. Service was just a hair on the slow side considering how many people were in the restaurant. Bathrooms are completely disgusting and smell. The trash was overflowing at 10am which means it wasn't emptied from the night before. Interior dining room is a tad depressing and old feeling. Again, Breakfast ONLY and ONLY if Cracker Barrel is full.

I'm vegetarian so I told the others (omnivores :-) to wait while I went in and asked what they had. They had the salad bar for me. The other two people had meat dishes that they said were "OK". One of us had an optional large soup and was not charged beyond the regular small soup that normally came with the meal. And the soup was good, I was told. The salad bar was "OK". Just the cauliflower was somewhat brown in places. The rest was OK ... well the cantaloupe was not sweet at all and a waste of time. But the other fruit was OK. Oh, the Wi-fi ("dlink") was open and excellent !

Don't stop here, don't risk spending the rest of the day in the bathroom asking yourself' "why didn't we just go to The Cracker Barrel, or Mc Donald's?" Bad food, poor service and higher that justified prices make this place the singular worst restaurant we stopped at on our our entire trip from Duluth to Seattle and back again. YUCK!
