The Pad Thai was really very sweet. Almost just like sweet and sour sauce, even the same bright red color. Really was hoping for a spicier less sweet pad thai. Prices are good, the waitress was awesome and really nice place. Might be back

AVERAGE THAI FOOD Not bad, but not that great. My wife & I had the Drunken Noodles and the Pad Kee Ew. The vegetables were fresh, the noodles a bit rubbery, and over all, a rather ho-hum experience. Location - 3 STARS Service - 3 STARS Food - 3 STARS Ambiance/Decor - 4 STARS Value - 3 STARS

This was a pleasant surprise--good Thai food in Billings. The service was excellent, although the place wasn't too busy at 7:30 on a Saturday night. We started with fresh spring rolls--3 large ones cut in half, with a sweet & hot hot sauce. The vegetables were crispy and good; the wraps were a little chewy at the bottom--we enjoyed them. One of us had the mixed vegetables (last item on back if menu) with tofu & brown rice. There was plenty of it (we should have shared) and the veggies were cooked well: onions were crisp & mushrooms were done. This is a very mild dish. The other of us had the yellow curry, also with tofu & brown rice. It was delicious and ample. We're not experts on Thai food but have eaten at several other Thai places and this was definitely a cut above.

The curry and fried tofu were amazing! The drunken noodles are a bit spicy, so be careful. All in all a really great restaurant.

Moving from California to Montana, I thought I would never get a Thai iced tea ever again. Not only does this place offer the tea that rivals all the Thai restaurants I've been to in L.A., but their Penang Curry and Yellow Curry were delicious. I was VERY happy to know that Thai food is only a short drive away, and that I do not need to make it myself or fly back to California to enjoy good Thai food.

Nice surprise in a Billings strip mall. Good food in nice surroundings with good service. The lunch menu offered a good variety. Would go back again.

Disgusted!! That is how I felt walking into Lemongrass Thai. As me and my wife were returning since our first experience was a decent one but this time around it seems the staff has become very discriminating and rude. We walked in before 3 other parties and were told rudely to wait for 10 mins while the people behind us were seated right away, I feel like we needed to be waving a neon sign to get any service. How do you completely ignore people and are ok with it. I will never go back to this restaurant and I do not recommend this place to any one. So rude!! We ended up leaving and getting the best BBQ from Blue's BBQ.

Not only is the food great, but the restaurant is also pretty classy. The service is always good. The food is certainly affordable. I definitely recommend the pad see ew.

Three trips to this place and consistently excellent. Always fresh and delicious, this is a restaurant that I crave when I am there.

The food was beautiful and tasted heavenly, it was cooked to perfection. Our waitress Ying was amazing and very knowledgable, it was a very pleasant experience and I would encourage everyone to go there! AAAA++++

showed up late, didnt have to wait, ordered a plate, food tasted great, me and my mate, both rate 8/8... i like to rhyme all the time, and i know my poem blows, eat at lemongrass, located just south of lowes.

This is by far the WORST Thai restaurant ever! We ordered take out of Pad See Ew and Drunken noodles. The Pad See Ew was very hot and the food melted the styrofoam box, I attached a picture showing my fingers going through the box from the bottom. The Drunken noodles was a thick blob of oily dough, I can use a plastic fork to carry the entire mess, see picture. The food is so gross you wish they were never born to make it. Watch out for their reviews, most of the 5 stars have only 1 review! FAKE! FAKE! FAKE!

First time trying this place. I can't account for anything else on the menu but the Mu Tod. It was delicious. Both my husband and I loved the way they prepared this dish. It had crunchy garlic sprinkled on the too for a nice touch. We love Thai food, so I'm anxious to try other menu items to see if they are as tasty. Also had the won tons, I asked if they are freshly made and they said they were. They were very good.

Went there during our business trip on Friday night. Out first thought was...Thai food in Billings?!! Boy, we were impressed by their decor, quality and selections. It's a small place (seats 56) but it was well done. I like spicy food with lots of vegetables and got an item with 2 chillies marked, indicating "hot", and was impressed. My coworker also enjoyed his sweet and spicy item. Sorry, we didn't take the item names down. Highly recommend this restaurant! UPDATE; Returned nearly 6 months later and the food quality was just as great. I ordered Pad Ka Pow (eggplant w/ fried tofu) and my coworker ordered Pad Prea Wan (shrimp). We also had their sweet Thai tea and Spring Rolls. The young lady who waited on us was amazing. She remembered us from six months back including the items we ordered!! It was evident that they take a lot of pride in serving high quality food to their customers.

Excellent food and service. Ordered the Thai street food meal not sure what it was called but it was delicious. I told them extra spicy and they did not disappoint.

Lemon Grass Thai was outstanding ! I ordered the Panang Curry with chicken and extra veggies, it was the best I have ever had. So delicious. I highly recommend it, compliments to the Chef. Also Xang the waitress was so efficient , friendly and so Kind. The atmosphere was really nice too . 5 Stars !! Excellent restaurant .

  • Gabe E.

OK, I was hungry after driving 7 hours so I ate most of my diner even though it was not near even average Thai food. I ordered stir fried vegetable with chicken and brown rice. Simple enough right? So I thought too. The rice was just above room temperature when delivered and a bit undercooked. Most all the vegetables were not fresh, they were either frozen or canned. Very disappointing for the price which was pretty high for Thai food. If the flavor was any less adequate than it was I'd have given a 1 star. Don't think I will be back next time through Billings, MT.

  • Chris S.

Great food and staff. Wasn't sure where to go for dinner. Followed the Yelp reviews. Glad I did. If you are in Billings and in the mood for Thai this is the spot.

    (5)
  • Tiffany M.

The food here has very STRONG flavor. That is not to say that it is good or bad. Some things are not good at all but other things are very good. The prices though make it very difficult to love. We have had: the curry- not great fried rolls- just ok unfried rolls- not good skewers- good pad broccoli-sometimes amazing sometimes not brown rice-always perfect!

  • Kittycat L.

Excellent service and food! We had both had pad thai and it was awesome! Very clean and excellent atmosphere.

  • Elizabeth S.

Best Thai curry in Billings! I've tried the yellow curry at all the Thai restaurants here and lemongrass wins in my books. Great service as well.

    (5)
  • Nikki R.

Good Thai food, for billings! The pad Thai is unusual, it has almost a sweet and sour quality to it, which wasn't bad but not what I think of with pad Thai. I've had a few other dishes here and they were all tasty. Well be back!

  • A K.

Walked in, saw plenty of empty tables at lunch time. Here's the conversation that took place: Host: "it will be a ten minute wait." Colleague: "(seeing open tables, clarifies) sorry, did you say it would be ten minutes?" Host: "probably less than that. Be patient. If you can't be patient, this is not the place for you." Lol. What!! We asked in the most sincerest of ways and were blatantly told to "be patient." Unbelievable. We immediately left. Never coming back.

On a road trip and happened to check out Lemongrass Thai based on others' reviews. We ordered iced Thai coffee, it had the perfect amount of sweetness and our server brought us creamer on the side so that we can fix it to our tastes. Our server was incredibly attentive and friendly, offering suggestions that made the experience enjoyable. We ordered the fried Thai spring rolls, very tasty, especially the sauce. For our meal we split Pad Thai and Red Curry Beef. Both were flavorful, but the Red Curry Beef was outstanding, a perfect blend of seasonings. Wish we lived here so we could go in or carry out frequently!

The food is made with love and respect for their culture & it completely shows. Tom Kha Gha soup is beautiful and everything else on the menu. Nirvana will be found here. Thank you!

My 1st visit. Very good Thai Red Curry. Service was good especially with only 1 waitress. Decor and tables were comfortable. I was very pleased and will be visiting again.

Delicious food! Friendly service. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. A bit of a wait for our table & food, as she was the only waitstaff in the room.

Not worth the money, over priced. Don't waste your money on the soup. I've had better.

Tried Tao's, Cham Thai, Siam Thai. But this one is in a different league altogether..Thai curries with basil leaves ...Heavenly.Had Panang Curry,Nice texture, layer of flavours and the basil scent is too good. Also tried Sticky rice with mango...The best dessert and the most authentic.Go here without any doubt...All the curries should be good.

  • Nicholas B.

Only half the tables had people seated but waited 30 minutes for a table then was informed that it would be 30 more minutes atleast before food would come. Left without ordering.

Traveling for work most of the year...getting home sick is not uncommon. Thank you for letting me experience my mom's home cooking at your restaurant. The food was outstanding and I was able to let some of my co workers try my favorite Thai dish that isn't even on the menu. When I get a chance to get back to Billings, you can expect a call from me for some more Thai home cooking. Ying, Thank you and your mom for accommodating my request!!!

    (5)
  • Levi L.

It was awesome the first time we came here and terrible the second time we came here. I had meat masaman and my wife had veggie pad se ew. It had to be the cook because it was both dishes that were both good and both bad. I'd probably go for a chain instead next time and save Thai food for another city. That said - for Billings - it's probably the best Thai you could find. That's the only reason I'm giving it 3 instead of 2 stars.

    (3)
  • Channy M.

Best Thai food in Billings, maybe even Montana. The only Pad Thai I've had that can be taken as leftovers, be reheated, and not taste terrible. This restaurant is very impressive, they run themselves on only 5 employees, and that includes the owner. The owner is the cook, born and raised in Thailand and her daughter runs the entire dining room by herself. The decor is beautiful, and the food can be very spicy at times, but hey, that's how most Thai food is! All negative reviews on this place scream ignorance, it's funny to think people know more about the food than an actual Thai family. This is not a place to miss!

    (5)
  • Preet S.

Its an OK Thai place. I'm comparing to food to that of California of course, to which it doesn't compare. But for montana and the few thai places around I think they do a pretty good job with food, decor and staff. I like that if you ask for hot they actually will listen and give you what you want. Unlike some other Thai restaurants around, and just Asian food places in the Midwest in general.

  • Jacob J.

Yellow curry and pad Thai are great! Everything is excellent, however I have never gone wrong here. Nice to see this high quality Thai food in a place like Billings.

  • Tiffany Y.

We go to Lemongrass on a regular basis, and still love the food and the service. I completely agree with my previous review. The ginger tea, coconut soup, green curry chicken, and spring rolls are still our "usuals." After reading other reviews, I do have to agree with the fact that the spiciness level of the food does vary. However, as someone who loves to cook spicy food I have learned that this is very common when using fresh ingredients.

    (5)
  • John G.

Seriously?!? Why was I paying for over priced mediocre thai food in Memphis when I could have just come across the country to eat at lemongrass? Well so glad I live here now and have discovered this place. The service was amazing, food was perfect and was priced pretty decent. We are fans. May be the only Thai place in billings that we eat at. Forgot the name of my dish but it had a peanut sauce....GOOD!

The food is really authentic and the waitress working here is just so friendly. Definitely my favorite place so far since moving to Billings a month ago!

As far as I'm concerned, this is a 'lunch' spot. I wouldn't choose this restaurant for dinner but that's just me. Located in front of the Lowe's hardware store inside a mini mall, it has reduced parking close by due to traffic to the other stores nearby. No matter if you choose Lunch or Dinner, I recommend you go early. When I say early, I mean 11:30am for lunch and 5pm for dinner. It gets full.... and VERY busy. The dining room is small and the waiting area may fit around 6 people. After that you're waiting outside. The interior decor is simple, elegant, and warm. Lot's of windows on the East and North side of the 'smallish' dining room to allow ample lighting in. Music pumped in was appropriate Thai music and not too loud. Just right. Since we always arrive early we're always seated right away. We're also served right away and our food arrives right away. It's really that simple. Arrive here at noon or 6:30pm and you're going to wait, it's going to be crowded and it's going to be slow. Basically like every other restaurant in Billings that's worth dining at. The food is simply outstanding. The other reviewers were dead on regarding the Lemongrass soup. Out of this world good but once the veggies and meat are gone, I'm done with. The broth alone didn't do it for me. My Chicken Pad Thai (ordered 'with a little spice please') was out of this world delicious. Just enough heat to keep it interesting but not so much as to make my nose run. My iced tea never got below half full and when it came time to pay the bill, she was lickity split with the credit card. This place is worth every single star. Go there, relax, and enjoy!

DELICIOUS!!! Wonderful service, clean, nicely decorated...and the food is excellent! As good as what I ate in Bangkok.

Very tasty Panang curry. I love when you order spicy and they actually make the food spicy. Friendly waitress too!

  • Jaime J. F.

Overall good. Food took a little longer than I would it expected since it was really low afternoon but was worth it.

  • Mai T.

The food here is awesome. We tried the seafood soup, and it was so spicy so if you are not a big fan of spicy food, stay away from it. I had Pad Thai, and it was really good. The desert was great but a little too sweet for me, I could not finished it in one time. You can choose your level of here. Will definitely come back again.

    (5)
  • Jim A.

I love Asian food and have never tasted anything like their lemongrass soup. Has flavors of lemon, coconut milk and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp dish I had was good too. Very friendly staff.

    (5)
  • Pootums P.

The food was certainly authentic and delicious. Momma was in the back cooking your food "to order" and the service was so nice and helpful. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that some of the dishes were so spicy, they were almost inedible. If I ever come back to Montana, I will return for another meal. ( and ask to have it not quite so hot!)

    (4)
  • Alex C.

When I eat here, I make sure I have that pitcher of water on my table. It is spicy! Like Man vs Food spicy! I look like him after I eat here (super sweaty). Only, I don't sweat, I glisten.

    (4)
  • Shannon G.

Their food tends to be a little greasy.

I tried this little gem for the first time for lunch. We had a 4 year old child with us. When my friend ordered, the server was helpful in picking items for the child. She was concerned a dish would be too spicy. Very thoughtful. I ordered from the lunch menu. The service was very good. My coconut soup was unlike anything I've every had and I generally enjoyed it. It's very rich. However, there were these fiberous stalks of...something in the soup that were not good. But my doc is hounding me to eat more fiber so there you go. I forgot the name of the dish I ordered. It was delicious. I plan on going back and trying their red curry. It was a nice place to enjoy a tastey meal.

  • Aaron B.

We love Thai food and although we have some great Thai in Bellingham, this is even better...

    (5)
  • Cindy W.

Great food and great service. If we are ordering take-out this is the first place we call. Red curry is very flavorful with just the right amount of heat every time we have ordered it. The seafood wontons are also a favorite.

    (5)
  • David Y.

This is far and away the best Thai food I have had in this neck of the woods. I had Phad Thai, wontons, egg rolls and chicken sauté. If I could, I'd marry one of the cooks. There were so many people there, it filled the place, and even though it is a small place, and there was only 2 waiters, they were never just walking past us. They were always offering coffee, tea or water, asking if everything was ok and not in a bad way (interfering with your meal). Don't ever pass up a chance at a good meal! Small places often have the best food in my experience. This place could make better use of its space though, I could see where they could add 20-25 more seats. I was just back in Billings after a year and was looking forward to eating hear again, but I was CRUSHED when I called, they had closed until 01/12/2014 for renovation. ARG!!!!

    (5)
  • Alycia H.

Delicious. Service is great. The spicy and sour lemongrass shrimp soup was amazing. I forgot the name...definitely will go back.

    (5)
  • Patrick L.

I was seated right away and the ONLY server in the place was sweet. She was definitely working hard. More full tables than empty for lunch today. It did take a lot longer than expected to get my order. The phad Thai was different than anything I've had. It was a good size serving and had a ton of shrimp!! Which is awesome. But it was almost creamy. Not a typical trait of phad Thai. At least in my adventures. I think its hit or miss.

My husband and I were just driving through Billings on our way to Glacier National Park. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu and it was okay (but that's what I get for playing it safe) my husband got the drunken noodles extra spicy and it was outstanding! Usually when you order extra spicy it really isn't spicy enough but this dish was spicy and delicious. This place is very authentic and they know their food. I instantly regretted my choice for Pad Thai as I saw other plates come out. Do yourself a favor and order something you haven't had before. My favorite part of our visit was the staff. The cute Thai girl that served us was so friendly and helpful and as we were leaving her mom came out and chatted with us for a few minutes too. I gotta say if we lived in Billings we would totally come here all the time.

    (5)
  • A T.

Green curry was a solid A- but drunken noodle was more like a C. But value and flavors are good. Service was disgruntled and inattentive for some reason. We went in well after lunch hour and it wasn't like the place was busy. However it was great to get something spicy and with fresh veggies driving through Billings. Worth a stop if you can't wait 2 more hours to get to Bozeman.

This was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised. The place is clean, relaxing and room to sit if waiting for a table. Our waitress was delightful, very knowledgable and helpful. Service was prompt and the food was awesome. This is my first 5 star rating and they deserve it. I hope my future visits don't disappoint.

Tried this place last night. Was not expecting much and figured I woud go right back to my other Thai place. Very happy we tried it. The food is very good and unique. Love the sweet and sour and there is a nice selection of food. Give it a shot. I am becoming a regular

We were worried about Thai food in Montana but Lemongrass Thai is AMAZING!!! Very authentic & delicious! They are very good at meeting your dietary needs & friendly. This is now our Go To place for dinner out. YUM!!

Love this place! Great service, delicious food, reasonable prices. Chicken satay w/ peanut sauce (appetizer) and chicken red curry (entree) are highly recommended. The Pad Thai is respectable, but they serve tastier options.

Wow - REALLY surprising - was not expecting such a great meal in the middle of Billings. We were passing through on our way from Colorado to Idaho. Fresh, lots of veggies, perfectly spiced with just enough heat to complement and not overpower. Friendly, jovial staff. Would heartily recommend.

    (5)
  • Scott J.

It's ok, probably pretty good for Montana Thai food. I had the Pad Gra Prow, which I have almost every time I have Thai food. It was definitely average, didn't really have the right veggies in it - no bamboo shoots, etc. Just bell peppers, onions, etc. Americanized I would say. It seemed a little "over-spicey" for the medium heat that I ordered. Overall, solid average.

Great staff and great food! I travel for work and live in a foodie town with exceptional Thai restaurants. This is not only great for Billings but an overall decent Thai restaurant. I only make it to Billings once a month at best and the staff remembers me every time and are very friendly. Great experience all the way around!

We had eaten lunch here one day and enjoyed it, so my husband chose this for his birthday, 4/15/13. I knew they closed in the afternoon and re-opened at 5, so we arrived about 5 after 5. Restaurant closed, chairs up on the tables, no sign of anyone around. We waited for 10 more minutes, during which time three more cars pulled in and then left when it was apparent no one was there. We finally gave up and went to Texas Roadhouse. Driving home, we saw Lemongrass was open. I think this is a very poor way to run a business, especially when there are other Thai restaurants nearby. It certainly doesn't make us eager to return. :(

No lunch menu here! I tried to have lunch here on Wednesday after reading the reviews. I'm traveling and the lunch menu I saw here at Yelp sounded perfect for me. After waiting a few minutes to be seated, I was given a dinner menu. I asked for a lunch menu, but she said no, they are not serving it. Since it was noon, I told her I saw a lunch menu on Yelp and Trip Advisor. She said yes, but they are making some changes. In other words, we have plenty of customers willing to pay dinner prices for lunch, so we don't need your business.

Individual meals = very tasty. Buffet = RUN AWAY! I enjoy getting take out from here. I tried the buffet and found the food cold and not very appealing. Very nice staff.

  • David N.

Solid food but nothing special. The service however, was insanely slow. After a 20-30 minute wait we were seated in the dining room which had multiple empty tables. The group that had been seated right as we arrived didn't get their food for another half hour (1 hour total). Our fresh spring rolls didn't arrive for about a half an hour and then our main dishes arrived about 15 min after that. (45 min from order to main dishes) We ordered green and yellow curries and they were both too thick but tasted good. The fresh spring rolls were dried out and very tough and crunchy on the bottom. It really felt like they were rolled and then sat for 30 minutes before the server brought them out.
