Came here with a Yosemite tour group. The food here is pretty good. I enjoyed all of the dishes I got. A lot of the food is tasty, authentic, and comparable to some of the better Chinese restaurants I've been to. As for the one negative review, he doesn't know what he's talking about. I've had more Chinese food in a week than he's had in his entire life. In comparison to some of the better restaurants, I can assure you this place is pretty good. I like how the reviewer complained that the food is greasy and fried. Maybe he shouldn't be ordering all greasy fried food, just maybe. All of the dishes I got weren't too greasy, including the fried tofu dish. I hope that reviewer continues traveling 500+ miles to get "authentic" Chinese food. Imagining that makes me laugh. As for me, if I'm ever in the area again, I'll stick with Jade.

Their buffet was pretty darn good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Their buffet even had BBQ pork in it, in addition to delicious egg rolls and won tons. They had a wide variety and even had dessert. Usually chinese food buffets gross me out, this one did not. The only thing I would stay away from is the breaded shrimp, when you take away the breading you could see the poopy shrimp vein. This isn't the restaurant's fault though, all buffet shrimp is low quality and filled with poopy veins. They even had a killer dessert. It was basically a fried donut hole and it was delish! This really raised the bar for me in terms of chinese food buffets.

I came here with my family on our way to Yellowstone. There seemed to exist a dearth of Chinese restaurants in Billings, Mt so the restaurant was a bit pricey, but Jade Palace was really great. Their food, though Americanized, was delicious. My favourite was the pineapple fried rice. My entire family couldn't get enough of it! This dish was a nice twist on a Chinese classic. We also ordered a Jade Blossom. This was a chicken and vegetable stir-fried dish served with a special sauce, presented in an aluminum foil "blossom". Although it was fancy, this special dish wasn't as popular amongst my family members as the restaurant's regular dishes. My only slight grievance was that their were few servers, so the wait was a bit longer than expected. Nonetheless, the food was excellent, and we were glad to find a nice Chinese place.

Pretty darn good Chinese food. Certainly better than your run-of-the-mill Chinese fast food, but certainly not very high end. The food is well done, the buffet well-stocked, the service prompt, and the area clean. I like coming here on my stops in Billings.

This place is a little pricey, but very delicious. All of the food tastes fresh and unprocessed. My personal favorite is the Mandarin chicken. I always do take out so I can't speak for the in restaurant service, but the take out service is great! Friendly and speedy.

So we ordered wonton soup (just okay), crab/cream cheese puffs (can't really mess those up), orange beef (yum!), cantonese noodles (needed a few more spices), and kung pao chicken (I thought it was fine, but he thought it was lacking something). Anyhow, this place gets four stars, b/c as I've said, it's all relative here in Billings!

I've been here several times and while it is one of the better Americanized Chinese restaurants in billings.. that really isn't saying much. But I digress since sadly, as a Montanan, you don't have any authentic choices.. unless say you didn't mind a quick drive to Denver for dinner. Jade Palace is typically oily, mostly breaded, quite salty with liberal use of sugar and msg. Seriously people.. 4 and 5 stars? You need to get out more often.

It's great when a decent spot to eat is quite literally, next to your hotel! A good way to find out if a restaurant is truly on top of their game is when your food is on point after you slip in when the lunch buffet crowd has cleared and before the early bird dinner crew is chomping at the bit. There was no leftover buffet servings on my table! And quite honestly and with all due respect to this establishment, I was concerned that could be the case! Nothing fancy...just got the orange spicy chicken & steamed rice...it came with complimentary hot Chinese tea, an egg roll (nothing to write home about) and a small cup of egg drop soup...not bad for 9 bucks and it was enough for nearly 3 people! Another great thing here...not taxes in Montana, the service was outstanding (again for this time of the day you might get the burned out lunch server ready to get the heck off work or the early closer who doesn't want to be there for a couple tables in a couple hours!) and clearly my food was cooked to order--just like their website and owners are proud of to mention. I missed the lunch buffet by an hour...just like the 1st Reviewer said of this place, I'm also satisfied enough to go back and try their lunch buffet!

Best eggrolls ever! Plus their fried rice is pretty tasty.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
