First of all, the guys cooking the stirfry are always awesome and that's why this gets 4 stars. That, and the sauces are wonderful. The freshness of the food has always been a little iffy, but this last time I was there, it was all good. Minus one star for two things: the rice is disgusting (must be instant or something) and the service is weird. The waitresses all seem like they are too busy to help, but the restaurant isn't busy at all. Appetizers and dessert are average.

The food, unfortunately is below average. I was most disappointed by how terrible the rice is: how you can make rice both mushy and crunchy is a mystery to me. The service was average. Our waitress was busy and didn't get back to us for refills (never offered). The highlight of the trip was at the grill. The cooks had so,e fancy spatula flipping. Any they were efficient. There are so many better opportunities in Billings for better food with better service at the same prices.

Ate here with the family and it's like all the others we have been to. I felt the selection of items was good. They also have one of those fancy soda machines where they can mix any kind of taste you want in the Coke products. The only thing that seemed odd was the service. Unorganized as we were waiting to be seated and once we were it took awhile to take our order. Then she only checked on us once for refills. Otherwise food was good.

UPDATE!! Dustin saves the day! So, I went back because I just love the food. I was really worried about horrible service again but I thought I'd just buck up and work my way through it. The food would be worth it. Holy Crap what a difference a day makes (or several days in this case). Dustin the Manager was all over us and everyone else like Ugly on an Ape! He's one kick ass dude. And our server, Erin, did well also. She's not smiley and happy but she's proficient and attentive. I can live with that. Dustin though was like that cartoon Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes moving around like a mad man making sure everyone was taken care of and happy. I loved it! Kudos to Dustin. The food? Again, absolutely outstanding. And the 140+ soda choices are great as long as the waitress brings them out correctly. Erin Did! Maybe writing things down is a good idea? Duh! If we have great service like this next time, I'll update this bad boy to 5-star. I just want to make sure this wasn't an anomaly.

Food tasted fine. The place needs to be cleaned better.

This is a dirty restaurant with old food splattered on the walls. They use very low quality ingredients, especially the meats and have pathetically poor service... Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play??? Yup, it's that bad... This place is interesting because you go up to a food bar and gather the meats, veggies and sauces you want for your meal, then bring them to a guy that dumps it on a flattop grill... So when you return to your table and realize that the food is inedible you think "maybe I'm to blame, because I chose the ingredients of this culinary monstrosity. But please don't blame yourself, I want you to know that the meats and sauces are of such poor quality that a tag-team of Hubert Keller, Masaharu Morimoto and the ghost of Julia Child couldn't salvage a respectable dish from this place. Basically, I'm trying to tell you this place is bad...

Huhot is great for a lunch quickie ($7.99 from 11-4 pm). I usually go for lunch, as dinner is 12.99 and I am a poor college student. A Mongolian Grill-type restaurant, you are seated, give your drink order to the waitress, and then you're off on a quest to make what you hope to be a good noodle dish. Easy! Suggestions: 1) Use the recipe cards (The "Curry up already" is my favorite!). It helps you get the flavoring you want in your dish. From those, I learned that I was not putting nearly enough sauce so I usually ended up with a bland dish and rarely was a returning customer. 2) If you're like me and are nutrition-conscious, while you order your drink, request for brown rice instead of white. As for your noodle dish, use their wheat-based yakisoba noodles. 3) Grab two bowls. One to put your noodles and meat; the other to put your vegetables and sauces in. 4) Enjoy your food! Since they are an "all-you-can-eat," you cannot bring any leftovers home. Trust me, I tried cheating the system. Service was great, although it can get pretty crazy during lunch, so I can see where the waiters/waitresses might slip-up.

We got there right at noon. Were seated in a timely manor. The waiter took our drink order and told us how to get our food(since we were new). We got our bowls not meat and veggies and added sauces. The grill masters cooked our concoctions and added an egg for us. What fun to watch it being cooked. My meal was delicious and I cleaned my plate!!! Yumm. The place was clean and ver attractive in decor. I can't wait to take my husband there. I will be a repeat eater there!!

Pretty good. Good first impressions with a friendly greeting prompt seating, server there quickly to get first orders. Lunch is a make-it yourself and they grill, like most Mongolian barbecues. It's OK. Not the greatest service...

I told someone I was going to Billings and the first thing they said was "You should eat at HuHot!" After some explaining of exactly what HuHot was I eager to swing by here and grab a meal. Its a Mongolian Grill... Grab a whole bunch of raw food, pour a variety of random oils/seasonings together and give it to some guy to cook on a circular hot flat grill. Its 12 bucks, which seems more expensive than other Mongolian places I've eaten at in bigger cities, but what the hey. The all you can eat meals were supplemented with your choice of optional salads. There was a house and an Asian themed salad. I had the Asian one, it had a vinaigrette and ramen noodles on top. The selection of frozen items to get grilled were fairly average. There's beef, pork, chicken, imitation crab, sausage, and a frozen seafood medially. There's wheat and regular noodles along with every veggie under the sun to throw on. There's probably 40 or so oils and liquid seasonings to throw together to flavor your dish. They recommend at least 5 ladles of seasoning but no more than one of oil. If you're lost at what you should combine, there's cards with flavor profiles directing you to spoon together a few specific flavors for a certain type of dish. I was a little put off at how messy the flavor station was, they should have a guy wipe it down every 15 mins or so. Service was good, its mostly do it yourself but you have a waiter to take your salad and drink orders. They kept our drinks filled and had brewed iced tea so I was fine with that whole part of the dining experience. We order desserts which were pretty good. It was ice cream and cream filled ragoons. Overall, it was a unique dining experience that you don't find many places. If you're not scared of making your own dishes this is your joint. If you don't want to put in alot of work and have your food served to you... this is not your place. But as the first place I was directed to eat at in Billings, it did not disappoint.

One of the worst MONGROLIAN food I eva had. Even Ghengis Khan would be pissed.

Billings' version of Flat Top. And at $12 for unlimited, it's a whole lot cheaper. That said, there aren't as many options. There's a solid amount of good ingredients and a good sauce selection though. The service was standard. The thing that was really lacking is probably the ambiance - I might as well as have been making my own stir-fry at home (well, I guess at least here I didn't need to prepare my own ingredient)=s)

Horrible experience. Went to HuHot for an early dinner with the kids-5pm. We had to wait for the absolutely obnoxious "fire show" to end before the profusely sweaty cooks even looked up to see us waiting. The entire place filled with smoke before we even sat down to eat what was a pathetic attempt at a flavorful noodle bowl. They had to open the doors to the place to air it out so people could breathe. Even with an apology from the manager and a discount on the bill (which he had to give everyone dining in the restaurant) we wont be going back. Just sad. On every front.

This place would get a better rating from me, but I've eaten here numerous times and the majority of time the wait staff was horrible. Unfriendly, lots of delays and borderline rudeness. However, the last few times I've eaten there because I do love the food and flavors so I continue to go there, the service seems better and the manager checked on us a few times during our meal to see if things were ok. If they continue to provide good service, I'll upgrade my rating. One major complaint I have (ok 2 complaints) is they don't offer any kind of soup with lunch and the soda machine that boasts numerous flavors would be great except they continue to get my soda order wrong so I just order a plain diet soda to avoid getting some ridiculous thing that bears no resemblance to what I actually ordered. Every other restaurant I've eaten in that has that type of soda machine is do it yourself-maybe Hu Hot should provide that so you can get the soda you want.

11/6/2011. Great all you can eat food. Pick a bowl, meat, veggies, sauces. Reasonable pricing. Fried green beans excellent. Great for groups.

I thought there was a really good selection of meats and veggies and sauces to choose from. Has dish ideas in the front if you aren't sure what you want. The atmosphere was nice and clean and it's all you can eat for one price.

This is a fun place. I have 2 teens who love to stop by here with their friends. The fruit selection is pretty slim, typically just pineapple and every now and then mango, but otherwise a good selection of meats and veggies to choose from in creating your own dishes. Having recipe cards at the table is a great way to begin experimenting if you aren't familiar with your options. Tunis is pretty much a regular stop when we're up in Billings.

We walked in almost at close on a weds night. They were happy to seat us (we'd just come off an 8 hr drive) and let us take our time eating. Food was decent, good price point ($12 for all you can eat), stellar service knocks it in to 4 stars.

Had dinner here last night as it is across the parking lot from the Springhills Suites at 1818 King Street. It took what seemed like forever before anyone even said hello as I waited...and waited..."please wait to be seated." Finally Darcy (the supervisor) sat me at a table...and I waited again. When she came for my order I asked "So how do you do this?" This is a place where you go to a salad bar (there are three) put the vegetables, noodles and meats in a bowl with sauces (there seem to be about twenty to choose from) and bring it to these grill men who cook up what you picked out. What they didn't tell me is that it is an all-you-can-eat-place. Darcy asked if I wanted soup or salad - I asked for salad. There were plenty of open tables, but one party of about 15 seemed to get all of Darcys attention. I couldn't even get her attention for the check. When I chased her down to pay I told her "You didn't explain this very well." Her response "Well, you could have had soup or salad too." I said - I ordered a salad - you never brought it to me. "Well, I was busy." I said "I've waited plenty of tables and you totally ignored me - I never got a drink, I never got a salad - and you should take some of this off the bill." "Well, it's a flat rate, it's just too bad you couldn't track me down, I'm charging you the full price." Well I waited tables for over five years and you have not stated one reasonable response. It's been forever since I left no tip - but the crappy service combined with the crappy food. Ick - I hated this place! I agree with Zach G. Ghengis Khan would be pissed.

Meh. It was just aight. The food tasted okay. It was our first time there, and we were told there was an assortment of meats, seafood, vegetables, and fruits to choose from. Okay on the first three, but the latter selection consisted of just pineapple from the can. And it was gross to see one of the employees transferring the krabstuff from its box to the container at the food bar.
