Friendly staff, food a lot better than the typical buffet food. Packed on weekdays lunch. The quality of meat and shrimp in the buffet -good.

It started ok for a min. Didn't wait too long for a seat. Got my drink from who I thought is my waitress. After that is when service went a little downhill. I waited for my waitress to get my order for awhile. I thought it was the waitress who got my drink. She kept going to the other couple on the next booth. I was there before them. She even went to them twice cause they weren't ready to order. So I had to flag her down to tell her I'm ready, but she said she's not my waitress. She then tried to find who was, but turn out later she was my waitress. Throughout the service it was the same thing, catering to the other couple first. I know I was by myself, but still I was there and seated first. Food was ok, though I won't recommend this place just for the poor service.

The food, decent, the price, a little high for my taste and the quality isn't really all that worth it. But the service and the atmosphere of the place was horrible, incredibly loud, unclean tables, overwhelmed wait staff, it was sad. Once we received our food we asked for the check and to go boxes because it was not a comfortable setting. Will only be ordering carry out from now on

Worst service I've ever had, I usually never bad mouth places but they didn't even ask us for our order till we got up and said something. I got one refill on a tiny glass of water and sat looking around for our waitress to get a glass of water the whole time. The one on the west end is fabulous but the one in the heights is horrible.

Absolutely the WORST "Chinese food" my husband and I have EVER had! The best part of the meal was the fortune cookie.. LITERALLY! We seriously can't believe how bad this "food" was. I wouldn't even feed this to my dogs! We will NEVER order anything from this place again! We thought about going to Panda Express just to get something semi decent after that God-awful "meal".

We just moved back to Billings after living near Seattle for ten years. Before our move to Seattle we used to eat here and loved it. The quality of the food has gone down hill. Two of us had the lunch buffet. It was luke warm and not very flavorful. We were afraid of getting sick from food sitting at that temperature. Luckily we didn't. The eggrolls were tasteless and greasy. My husband ordered off the lunch menu. He had mongolian beef. His meat was so tough he could hardly eat it. Mongolian beef is suppose to be spicy. No spice at all. We were excited to eat here...but won't be back. SAD!

We ordered pork egg rolls, shrimp lo mein, bbq pork fried rice and almond fried chicken. The egg rolls were cold we sent them back. The bbq pork fried rice lacked the other vegetables it was supposed to have and the rice was just a little dry and salty. The almond fried chicken was basically heavily coated fried chicken cuts the gravy was very strange could not tell what it was supposed to be flavored like and was not very good. The Lo Mein which we asked for well done came to the table with the noodles not even cooked through to begin with I sent it back to ask for it to be cooked more well done and the waitress said the cook couldnt cook it anymore than that! haha Never heard that one before. Over all the dining room is clean and so is the cutlery, plates, napkins waitress "tonya" was very accomodating and understood that we were not really satisfied with the food. Apparently the regular chef was not in and she apologized nonetheless I don't know if I will come back here.

Yummy! Chinese it is. Good food and surprising for Billings until I found out this area has a large Chinese and native American population. (railroad&native culture) I would eat here again. Very clean and friendly.

My wife and I were in Billings on business, and found ourselves looking for a place to eat at 8:30 PM. The Golden Phoenix was right across the street from our hotel, and we arrived at the restaurant at 8:45 PM. The door had two signs, one said they closed at 9:30 and one said 10:00. We went in and the waitress told us that if we wanted to sit down and eat the kitchen would only be open until 9, (15 more minutes) but if we wanted takeout, they would be open till 9:30. She was very rude about it. So we left. We will definitely not patronize this establishment again.

Always as expected. A little grease on the egg rolls makes them delicious! We always call in for pick up and its 15 mins tops. General tsao chicken is spicy and lo mein is yummers.

I was in Billings on business and met up with several refinery customers at this fine establishment. The exterior boasted a gilded sign with predominately green and red colors, a fitting introduction to the hoopla going on inside. It was fun, thats all I can say. Fun and very chinese-y. The buffet was generous with its selection and as colorful as the restaurant's sign and interior. The actual taste and quality of the food was what one would expect from a buffet but since I was so mesmerized by the bounty of color on my plate and everywhere else, I didn't mind. Hunger satiated by what was pretty food-like stuff, I exited the restaurant with a hearty thank you and good-bye from the friendly wait-staff. It was a good time.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
