Without a doubt my favorite place in Southaven to get sushi. Very polite staff. The presentation of the food is beautiful. We ordered the sushi dinner for two most recently and it came presented on a beautiful wooden boat. The food is fresh, and you may watch them make your sushi if you desire. The non sushi menu is also quite nice, and their lunch time bento box is a favorite of mine. The place is very quiet, with a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a date. I recommend trying the Seafood Nabayaki Udon. Price is spot on.

This is one of mine and my husband's favorite Japanese restaurant. We eat here about 3-4 times a month. Last weekend we had our two nieces and a nephew for the night and we introduced them to this place. They loved it! They've been begging their parents to bring them back. We are coming here for our family Christmas Eve lunch too. My mom said she'd try it. So, I'll let everyone know how she likes it and post some pics for an updated review.

This was awesome sushi, probably some of the best I've ever had! Had a baked oyster roll that was great

I came here with a large group of coworkers and got to try a bunch of different stuff because of it. I am so tickled. Most of us got sushi and half of us were willing to share. That's pretty much my dream come true: go get sushi with a bunch of people and try a bunch of different types. The coolest part of the night was when they brought out the Sushi Lover's food because it came on a boat! We were all impressed and thought it was super cool. It was a TON of sushi, too. Three coworkers originally ordered that and one other roll to split between the three of them. They ended up sharing some with me and another coworker due to the enormous amount of sushi. I stayed away from the sashimi myself but tried the other things. Two very plain salads with (I'm told) tasty ginger dressing and two bowls of chicken fried rice came with the boat as well. I got to eat the rice but was super disappointed. It just didn't taste as good as at other Japanese restaurants I've been to. But I did enjoy the miso soup that came complimentary to each of us. I know one lady who says she always feels hungry again soon after eating sushi. I haven't really paid much attention before, but all I can tell you is that I ate around noon today and now at 8 I am still too full to even think about dinner. So that is a filling meal. All in all, I enjoyed myself and would come back. I am sorely disappointed about the fried rice since I tend to love that, but I will just have to remember to stick to sushi here and not get the hibachi/fried rice. Loved: - Miso Soup - Red Dragon Roll - Snow Crab Mountain Roll - Yaki Udon Liked: - New Orleans Roll - Nygoya Roll - Seaweed Salad - Yaki Soba with Chicken Disliked: - Chicken Fried Rice - Sashimi Roll

Miso Mediocre... The sushi is pretty easy to ig-nori... Seriously though. I was underwhelmed here. I've made three trips and all have seemed to be under completely different management. Whether or not that is the case only points out the lack of consistency in the staff and service. The food has remained standard. This is not a BAD Japanese restaurant. It will suffice for a casual get-together. The prices are more than fair. It just lacks the panache to set it apart in a world where there is a sushi joint every other block. One more pun, or are you already bento-ver with laughter?

We walked in around 9PM and I don't think they were thinking they were going to get anymore customers for the night. No one else was in the restaurant and although their doors were open, they were mopping the floors and had a few things packed up. The girls were sweet and took us right in - but there was a bit of non-verbal awkwardness from both parties (us + them). The menu was great and they even had a separate menu for sushi with pictures so help you order accurately. I find those to be the most helpful. The waitress was nice and quick. She brought out waters and you also receive complementary miso soup (my favorite!) I ordered Tempura Shrimp Roll and Rock N' Roll sushi roll. My two other friends ordered two rolls teach so we requested for it to be served on the boat, and they obliged! There was a great traditional sushi maker (not sure of what they're officially called...) and was quick to make our food. The restaurant was clean and they put on quiet music to add to ambiance. Only thing I could note was it was incredibly cold in the restaurant and I couldn't wait to finish so I could warm up! All in all, decent prices and service but if I wasn't in the area, I'm not sure I'd visit again.

Best sushi in Southaven. Service is quick, staff is friendly. Sushi menu has photos and descriptions which is helpful. Be sure to try the chicken fried rice!

We ordered the Angel and Snow Mountain Rolls since it was highly recommended by fellow yelpers. They were great. I personally prefer the Snow Mountain with the extra crunch. We also tried the Lovers Dinner platter which came in a huge boat with sushi, sashimi, rocknroll; served with 2 bowls of salad and fried rice. All our orders taste really great and fresh. Place is clean with relaxing music. Waiters were friendly with smiles. Although the rice they used for the sushi was a little overcooked and mushy (in my opinion), the flavor, atmosphere, cleanliness is my priority.

It was good. It's probably somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, but the attentive service warrants the boost. I ordered the Red Dragon, Southaven, and Special Cucumber rolls. They were all good, with the Special Cucumber roll being my favorite (wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber instead of nori). But, none of the rolls quite matched the description and/or pictures provided (for example, instead of being garnished with eel sauce, as stated and shown, it was garnished with a mayonaisse). The combinations still worked and tasted good. Two of my pet peeves were realized: a sticky table and worse, a wobbly table (which I fixed with a pair of chopsticks). I'd go back if I was craving sushi when in the area.

Have to agree with the other reviews, this place rocks...nice atmosphere; good service and the sushi is excellent. Started off with the Tuna Tataki, which I've had at many other Japanese restaurants and can say that this was a very good version. The Tuna was nicely seasoned and perfectly done. Slightly seared on the outside and rare inside. I next had the Oyster Roll which was also excellent and a choice I wouldn't hesitate to make again. The oysters were plump and juicy and the roll was huge! I don't get out to Southaven often but this is one sushi restaurant worth the trip.

This is the best sushi in Southaven hands down. Skip the free soup and run of the mill entrees and dive straight into the snow mountain roll. Or one of the many specialty rolls they have developed here over the years. I always say good food has a balance of crunchy/mushy/salty/and sweet. And that's exactly what is going on in allot of the house roll concoctions. The warm negoya roll is a favorite as well as the smoked seaweed salad as an appetizer (served cold).

Always a great place to get sushi. Sushi is fresh, priced well, and service is wonderful and fast. The Snow Mountain Roll is awesome and if you are there you have to give it a try. Atmosphere is very good too. Clean, quiet, and up to date. This place is way better than Kyoto, and also better than Sekisui. Best sushi in DeSoto county!

We are new to the area and LOVE SUSHI! We did a Yelp search on my Iphone and came up with this place as the first try. What a great choice! We have been here twice and we have only lived here less than a month lol. We took our 5 yr old the first time. We ordered off the sushi menu and she had chicken friend rice, which she loved. The hubby also had plum wine, in which he stated; now this is how plum wine is suppose to taste. The 2nd time it was us as a couple and got a combo thing. Posting a pic. It was awesome! Looking forward to our next visit!

This is the best place to get sushi in the area. The staff is great and I've never had a bad meal here. The atmosphere is peaceful, clean, and quiet. It's where I take all of my first dates. My only complaint is that an order of rice is way too expensive, about seven bucks. The lunch specials, however, are by far the best deals. If you're not a fan of fresh, raw seafood, you should try the shrimp tempura. It's huge shrimp, broccoli, and sweet potatoes fried in a Panko batter that is both light and crispy. Definitely check it out!

I have been going to Nagoya for the last few years on a regular basis. It is one of my favorite restaurants and has the best sushi in the area.I always order the Snow Mountain Roll as part of the meal. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing and the service is second to none.

Ok. At best ok. The noteworthy side of things, and possibly even worth another star is that they are extremely accommodating and will let you switch some things up. Either it's a bad night or these folks are really slow. My wife and I are waiting for another roll, meanwhile our daughter has finished her food and is now waiting for his dessert!?!?! We are the only people in the restaurant.

Don't be fooled into thinking a sushi place in a Mississippi small town can't be great. Nagoya is the real deal. Prices are very reasonable and the fish is very fresh. The sashimi appetizer was solid, and as mentioned before the snow mountain roll is delicious. It's doesn't seem to be the kind of sushi place where you order multiple rounds, since the waitress took our menus after our the first order and there was only one chef working. Overall it was a enjoyable experience and a great surprise to find Sushi this good in Southaven.

We tried this looking for new places for lunch. I enjoyed the food, it was quite good. The service seemed to be a bit befuddled, not sure who was supposed to be doing what. Although the food was good, it turned out to be a couple of bucks over what we are used to pay for lunch (cheap bastards, us). Maybe every now and then , but it's not going in the normal rotation.

Generally I really liked Nagoya. Some of the best sushi i've had recently, I was highly impressed with quality. if they had the service to match, I'd easily give this place 5 stars. I heartily recommend both the Southaven roll and Snow Dragon rolls, they're so very different, but both really delicious. ($9-10/specialty roll, so about par on pricing)

My wife and I have eaten here twice since we've moved in the area. Although it is not the best we've had (we're originally from San Francisco) it holds up very well against the so-called hip places in Midtown... with southern white folk attempting to serve Japanese cuisine. The sushi portions are plentiful and the prices are reasonable. The dishes are artistically pleasing and the service is very courteous and commendable. The atmosphere is very pleasant and clean. No complaints at all. We recommend it... better than what Midtown has to offer.
