My husband and I chose Ely's for our anniversary supper. We didn't have reservations, but they sat us right away. Our waitress was phenomenal, and our cocktails were amazing. We both got the filet, and they were cooked perfectly (medium rare, of course!). We split the macaroni and cheese for our side and I could have gobbled the whole thing up myself. We will definitely go back!

Short Version: Great Food, Good Service, Beef Tips are a good value. Long Version: I visited Ely's on a Wednesday night with my wife. Parking was easy and the restaurant was an easy elevator ride up to the second floor. We were dining early, so the restaurant was mostly empty although the bar had several patrons. We were promptly seated in a smaller dining room that is separated from the bar so there were no issues with noise. The menu has many great steak and seafood dishes that look fabulous. I was intrigued by the Tenderloin Tips with grilled onions, peppers, and mushrooms. My wife was in the mood for a filet. Our server brought out whipped butter and four wonderful yeast rolls that were just barely (or almost) done depending on your taste. Fortunately my wife LOVES them like this! We chose the house salads and both tried the Artichoke Red Pepper Parmesan Vinaigrette which was an interesting change from the standard fare. We both liked it. While a bit cheaper than the small filet, I believe that with the tenderloin tips I actually received more steak than my wife's small filet. At the very least, it was the same amount. The onions, peppers, and mushrooms were lightly grilled and brushed with what I think was their compound butter. They were tasty and made a nice addition to the plate. The tips were cooked perfectly to order at medium rare. The chunks were quite large with one being probably 1/3 the size of the small filet. They were large enough that I had to cut all of them. They were very tender and quite tasty. My wife's small filet was a nice portion, topped with their compound butter and lightly seasoned. It was cooked perfectly to order. The steak was very tender and would practically melt in your mouth. We ordered the mashed potatoes with sauteed onions. It was served as a sharing portion in a separate bowl with a serving spoon. They were topped with the sauteed onions which were perfectly caramelized. The potatoes were very good, but nothing particularly special. The service was very good. We never wanted for anything, but were also not constantly interrupted by a hovering server. Ely's is well worth a visit. it is a great place for a date, celebration dinner, or a business dinner with clients. The food, service, and atmosphere will not disappoint.

Was in Jackson, MS for some Chicken biznaz, exciting stuff really- Our gracious hosts took us to their favorite place, one of the best in town, so I am told. We were promptly seated at a great table, then the wine started flowin- Bottle of Prisoner from Orrin swift, yeah! Had a juicy Ribeye steak on the bone, but curiously not called a "Cowboy" steak here, which I liked because I have a problem with ordering such food with a stupid name. No marks where the jockey had beat this steak, no, it was perfectly prepared with a nice puddle of garlic butter on it, Sides were not bad either, very typical stuff, Every shit puddle of a city needs a place like this. Highly recommend!

Food was great, my only complaint would be a service issue I spoke to management about and am well pleased. The kibbeh was awesome and the steaks are good I had the Cajun filet with BBQ shrimp topping, absolutely try the cashew pie.

I went here for a business dinner with some execs from my company and key partners throughout the region and EVERYONE left happy. I don't think I heard a single complaint from anyone at the table the entire night long. This is a nice, classy place to have a business dinner, take a date, or meet with some good friends for a great dinner. First off, we got cocktails at the bar. They seemed to have a nice selection of cocktails, wine, and a small craft beer grouping. Nothing out of the ordinary in the bar area but it's still a very nice place to be. The bartender was attentive and quick with our orders. We sat down to dinner and ordered a few appetizers and some bottles of wine. The artichoke hearts and crab cakes were my favorites, honestly. The menu skews towards a seafood focus and everything from the ocean was super tasty. The artichoke hearts were lightly fried and served with a spicy remoulade/sauce. I ordered the Blackened Yellowfin Tuna entree seared raw. It was perfectly cooked for everyone at the table (it was the popular dish and 4/9 people ordered it). The portion size on the entree was pretty small for the price but the rest of the food, bread, appetizers, and sides made up for it. My favorite sides were the mushrooms and the spinach. The tuna came with this amazing sauce called a jalapeño citrus ponzu. It was like a spicy soy sauce with a significant lime/vinegar kick. It was perfect complement to an already phenomenal piece of meat. Finally, we had dessert. I was almost too full to order anything but then the waiter mentioned that their sorbet of the day was Mango so I crumbled and caved to my stomach's desires. They were not disappointed. Someone else ordered the bread pudding and it was great as well with a dense texture and super rich flavor. The mango sorbet, however, was a super nice, bright end to a great meal. My only qualm was that the waiter knocked over a glass of red wine and it got on my jacket. He apologized but I'll still need to take it to the cleaner. Overall, great place for a great meal!

Very solid. Well known by locals and visitors for great food! Steak, fish, and salads all rule here - and they know how to make them! The weary business traveler is always welcome at the bar. The dining room has good tables and large party rooms for larger dinners. Great staff. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor -a bit hard to find the first time but well worth it. Great experience! Give it a try!

I had my first meal at Ely's this past Saturday. Great food at reasonable prices. I was very surprised at the diversity in dress. Several people were wearing shorts and there were a few characters also. Great staff.....Cannot wait for my next trip.

Ely's is always a great choice. It's conveniently located in a small upscale shopping center in ridgeland (right outside of Jackson). May I recommend the BBQ shrimp and grits. The BBQ shrimp is prepared with some kick so if you prefer to keep it mild, you may want to forgo the BBQ flavor. I requested to go light on the cream and cheese in the grits, and my dish was perfect. My dad loved his seared tuna as well! They have a nice wine list too. The decor is lovely, slightly modern with neutral accents, sleek dark painted floors and perfect lighting. The bar area is nice with somewhat limited seating. One other thing we love about Ely's is that the acoustics are managed well so the noise level is always average to ensure a calm dining experience. Highly recommend Ely's!

My boyfriend and I ate at Ely's this past weekend. My first time there, and he had not been there in a while. We got the shrimp and crawfish dip for appetizer and it was very delicious, and also got the I think eggplant parmesean, which he enjoyed. Im not an eggplant fan, so wasn't for me. The entree's were not lights out, but still overall very good. My boyfriends steak was undercooked for what he asked for, but still had a good taste.I also got the creme brulee cheesecake, and IT WAS AMAZING!!!! The staff was also very friendly and overall good service! Will be back for sure.

Dissapointed...walked in at 6pm...told they wouldn't have a table till 8:30. There were two tables in the restaurant occupied and their excuse was that they were understaffed...thanks for nothing Elys I won't be back!!!

Great food, service, atmosphere, and wine list. My wife and I had the opportunity for a rare date night away from the kids and decided to make early reservations at Ely's. It was empty when we arrived at 5:15 Friday night, but packed when we left at 6:45. Our server, Nancy, was great. We took most of her recommendations and when we had questions about dishes she took the time to retrieve or provide us with the details we needed to make the perfect choice. I'm sure each dish would have been great, but I recommend the Lebanese salad over the others and Boston cream pie for dessert over other choices.

The one star is based on a very mixed review. The bar experience was great. Service by Blake was awesome. The appetizers, especially the egg plant crab dish was unique. The cheese cake was fantastic. However, the after dinner drink ruined the whole evening. If anybody is going to charge $110 (which doubled our bill) for a single shot, single malt Scotch there needs to be some communication up front. At least there should be a price advisement. The manager/owner when confronted about this, became argumentative and said it was a "gentleman thing" and therefor no need to communicate a price. $110 a shot for what he claimed was a $600 bottle of Whiskey (yes if you had the Sherry Oak matured version, which we did not) So not true! There was absolutely no effort on his part to appease the situation... We were hugely embarrassed and needless to say...we won't be back.!

Ely's is one of the very few true fine dining experiences in the Jackson area. Great steaks and seafood. Some of my favorites are the tabouli, asiago mac and cheese and the Eggplant Ely appetizer. Great place for a special occasion meal but the bar is great to hang out in with friends and eat appetizers. I can't imagine anyone leaving here without being extremely satisfied with anything they've ordered off the menu.

This is probably the best steak I have ever had. The service was great, and I will definitely will be going back! There was one and only one thing I would change about tonight's experience and that would be the blue cheese dressing. It was not a traditional blue cheese dressing

Wonderful atmosphere, great food. The tabouli is wonderful, as is the stuffed flounder, and stuffed chicken breast. The asiago mac & cheese is also great. Ely's has a great menu with lots of good options.
