It has been almost two years since I was last the Eola until this visit in February of 2012, but like much of Natchez, little has changed. The rooms are small by modern hotel standards, and the bathrooms are 1927 size, but they are functional, clean and if you are in a hotel with a beautiful lobby and one of the most interesting neighborhoods outside, why would you want to stay in your room? The Internet is slow, but free - the best use for it is email and related tasks. This hotel is steps from the Natchez Convention Center and there are numerous restaurants in all price ranges within a five-minute walk. Denver Mullican

This place is resting on its laurels. It needs a renovation. Rooms are very basic and carpets are nasty. The bar looks like Elvis's jungle room but with lots of cigarette smoke. Julie the bartender is the best part about the place. I am really disappointed.

Cool place. We stayed on the river side 6th floor with a balcony during Balloon Fest which had amazing views and was right in the middle of the downtown area. The only bad thing was that you could hear Andrew's Bar which is on Main St next to the hotel. It is ridiculously loud until about 3 in the morning. I'll bring some ear plugs next time. Rooms are a bit small, but the 6th floor riverside has these cool patio's that add quite a bit of lounging space. The bartender (Julie) is awesome!

We stayed here on a holiday trip through the south. This hotel was rated the Best Small Hotel in the South by AAA Magazine. The lobby was nice, staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rest of the place was basically yuck. Rooms were small (expected in historic hotel) but the bathrooms looked last updated in the 1970's. Bar smelled badly of smoke. Hard time believing this is the "Best of the South"

Love the location and history of the place. Rooms and service were okay. Would stay here again!

Although the staff was friendly, the place is shabby and run down. After seeing other reviews, I was shocked by the condition. Mildewed, peeling paint, really a disappointment.

Fantastic hotel, nice bar, good service. Stay on the top floor for a wonderful view of the town and river. The rooms are small, but have a very metropolitan feel to them.

I havent stayed here in about 5 to 6 years and the service has really gone down. I requested a king bed riverview and got a 2dbl riverview ..had to go back down to the front desk and change rooms. My king room didnt even have a clock radio in it. The bathroom is so small that you hit your knees on the door when sitting down if you need to open the door...forget it! I can say the linens were clean on the bed and so was the towels in the bathroom. Bathroom was clean...but, it being so small doesnt take much to clean it so, it should be clean. No ice on the 7th floor had to go to another floor. No breakfast with your room rate....so, i think next time will be trying out The Natchez Grand Hotel...was in our view from the balcony and I understand they include a hot breakfast with your rate. Very disappointed in the Eola...used to be my favorite place...watch out Eola...there are other hotels popping up around you taking the competition away from you. Please do something soon! The Eola has the perfect spot...but, will be willing to go down the road for a better deal if I have too.
