Been going here with my sister for our summers since we were kids! Mom's side of family is from Natchez and this place rocks! The Oyster Burgers are out of this world as are their chocolate malt shakes. Had to travel to Natchez (a beautiful, quaint place with so much history and even more gorgeous Antebellum homes) for my Aunt's funeral (RIP AP) and had to get an Oyster Burger in her honor! The shop has not changed; burgers tasted slightly different from when I last had one, but still good; ended up going everyday - one of the days they even ran out of oysters and we thought we were going to lose it...a must visit if ever in Natchez, MS and make sure to etch your initials in the table!

I'm in Heaven!! It's not easy finding old fashioned ice cream shops since many towns are replaced with Braum's and other chain ice cream stores these days. Finding this original ice cream and burger joint was one of the best parts of my trip to Natchez. THE BUTTERSCOTCH MALT IS AMAZING! You have the option to add chopped pecans and wow...it's a must! I wish I could get this close to home, it was the best malt ever. The Malt Shop has a very extensive food menu, not just burgers and fries. Everything is super inexpensive. I had the BLT and fries- very good! Everyone else in my group got a burger and loved it. It's a small A-framed building with a walk-up window, so don't expect to go inside and sit down. There is one picnic table in front that will seat 7-8 people on each side, but that's it. It has a drive-thru as well, but they cook to order, so you probably want to call ahead. A must if you're visiting or live in the town! Can't beat the prices or the taste for this kind of place!

For some reason I have been having a lot of trouble with writing this review. I have been a patron of the malt shop my entire 34 years. It's oh so full of nosolgia for me. I can't think of the malt shop and not think of walking here with my brother and sister after elementary school for milkshakes, family catfish dinners after church on Sundays, and coming here and sharing cheeseburger plates with my best friend in high school. I even remember when that grumpy old man (gosh, his name escapes me right now...) owned it, and was the ketchup Nazi. He HATED giving extra packs of ketchup (back when I was a kid I like ketchup on my ketchup). It's very good for what it is. Patty hamburgers, fried chicken, catfish, and frito pies, oh my! I like the cajun curly q's. The vanilla cokes and anything ice cream/shake/malt related I base my taste on this place. Is it as good as the Malt Shop? It's worth a stop to check out the picnic table out front that has 35 years+ of names, initials, and so and so (hearts) so and so, carved into the very old wood.

This drive-in restaurant has the most extensive menu I've ever seen for this type restaurant, and everything we ordered was delicious. I had the catfish sandwich, which is a must when visiting the South. The fried catfish was tasty, and the bun was high quality bread, not the usual dried-out variety often offered at drive-ins. Others had the hamburger which they said was delicious. The fries were the real deal, not the chemical infused variety seen at most fast food restaurants. The milkshake was OK, but I've had better. My only complaint is I didn't have another day to eat lunch in Natchez at the Malt Shop.

Fun for the atmosphere. Step back in time... The shakes were good. Ordered a malt but didn't really taste the malt in the shake. More like a chocolate shake. Very friendly girls working. Eager to help.

I asked for a vanilla malt, but got a vanilla shake. Shakes and malts are different - malts have malt flavoring. I was repeatedly told to call prior to arriving at the drive up window so I didn't have to wait. I waited may be 7 minutes. Burger was small. They forgot my drink.

Wow...yet another place in Natchez that feels like you just stepped out of a time machine. The drinks are better than the food.
