Awesome burger. If you're from out of town you should definitely "experience" a burger like this.

Cups Espresso Cafe

Love love LOVE this place! Getting a cup of coffee is so convenient here and always makes my day so much better. The quality of the coffee is outstanding and the people who work here are truly wonderful. They are attentive to your likes and dislikes and become fast friends to those who are regulars.
I absolutely LOVE this place. Mainly because of how friendly and fast the employees are. There's a good core group of baristas that do an excellent job. This place gets pretty hectic at times given that it's in the middle of UMC and Methodist and people in healthcare love their coffee. You can also use your EatJXN card at this location for a free upsize, or get a student discount on their daily coffee brews.

American Deli

3645 Metro Dr
Jackson, 39209
1. Best wings in Jackson hands down. My coworkers and I swear by this place and their tangy hot wing sauce. I'll dip my fries and anything else I can in there too. I ate all ten wings plus fries in one sitting. Oops.. Sorry not sorry. 2. Fresh and fat chicken sandwiches with a variety of toppings. Yes it's almost ten dollars for a sub and fries, but you definitely get what you pay for. It's not Subway! You'll have to wait, especially if you go during prime meal hours. 3. American Deli is one of the only stores people come to the Metro mall for. This is the largest standing mall in in the state, but it's almost completely deserted. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit!

Papa John’s Pizza

2526 Hills St, Meridian
Jackson, 39305
I LOVE Papa Johns Pizzas - thankfully they are now coming to the UK. Unfortunately not near us - at the moment! Their 'Works' & their double pepperoni are superb. This place in Meridian was my introduction to Papa Johns - every time we revisit we HAVE to order from here. You MUST have extra portions of special garlic sauce to dip your crusts in - YUMMY! We even bring portions home with us - hoping they don't leak in the suitcase, of course! Superb - other Pizza companies are FAR inferior to a good Papa Johns. Plenty of specials are also on offer, usually buy one get one half price.

Love it, love it, love it! You must try the fried broccoli...its amazing!!! Get fish only on Sundays. I'll call in a lot too...they have a drive thru. Best kept secret of soul food in the Tougaloo area. Atmosphere is comfortable. Great lunch spot! You will get sleepy, lol. The owner is super nice & he runs his place like a true local. True mom & pop place! I'm a regular...honestly.

La Brioche

2906 N State St
Jackson, 39216
La Brioche has the best coffee in Jackson I have found so far, also their espresso is excellent! There may not be a lot of seating inside the actual cafe, but there are plenty of tables and chairs right outside the cafe in the main building. Not only does the atmosphere have a creative, professional, yet warm air to it, the artistry and quality of the food is some of the best I've ever had. It reminds me of the pastry shops I visited when I was visiting Paris, France! Definitely check this place out if you get the chance.
I love stopping by this beautiful French bakery any chance I get! I've tried everything from the coffee, gelato, macarons, and various other pastries, and they were all absolutely delicious. They also have sandwiches and bake custom cakes for any event. Not only is the food amazing, but the bakery itself is beautiful. It's a great spot to sit with friends, read a book, or get some work done. The owner and one of the pastry chefs is super nice and very knowledgeable about her craft. Overall La Brioche is great!
I was so excited when I heard about the opening of an authentic French pastry shop in downtown Jackson! It truly is authentic. The desserts are beautiful and it's an experience just to go in and look at them and talk to the chef. They are higher priced than the typical piece of cake or cupcake, but I didn't think it was bad at all! The desserts are delicious and well worth the price. The macaroons are amazing!! I was hesitant about them at first, but I ended up eating just little bites every day to make them last, they were so good!! I had the vanilla, chocolate, raspberry (my fave) and the Earl Grey. I can't wait to go back and try more flavors!

Monroe’s Donuts & Bakery

6310 Medgar Evers Blvd
Jackson, 39213
Today is National Donut Day, and I picked up donuts at the Ridgeland location. The lady behind the counter was the best! The donuts were amazing: Blueberry Cake Donuts, Buttermilk Donuts, Chocolate Sprinkle, Glazed.... Delicious!
Donuts are always delicious but they do not accept debit or credit cards only cash. Also depends on location and who's working on whether you get a friendly greeting. Unfortunately, not the friendliest people work at the Ridgeland location. There are a few nice ones but the ones the arent, aren't at all!
We went to Monroe's around 12 noon and ordered the glazed, cinnamon roll, twists and cake donut. I wished we came early in the morning when they were hot and fresh off the rack. But none the less, the donut was still good. Very dense and moist and the glaze was amazing. The price was also very reasonable.

Fat Albert’s

615 Beasley Rd
Jackson, 39206
Looked at other yelp reviews for Fat Alberts before visiting and was not disappointed. Owner/cook made food fresh right in front of my eyes as kitchen is right in front area. Kitchen was very clean and portioning was more than enough for this 170 lb diner. Very good place for take-out
Fat Albert's has the best Philly steak in Jackson. It's not a 100% copy of course, but considering we're 1200 miles away from Philadelphia their sandwich was a darned good substitute. Quite filling also - if you're not really hungry, you can split the steak among two people. Take out only, and this place is a real dive, so adjust your expectations before you arrive.
We were traveling through Jackson and it was in the area near relatives. We ordered all the recommended sandwiches: Gyro, Fat Albert Burger, Chicken Wings, Philly Cheese Steak. Everything was good! We appreciated the good southern service too!

Fairview Inn Bed & Breakfast

734 Fairview St
Jackson, 39202
Great place! It was built over 100 years ago and you can feel the nostalgia the second you enter. This was our first time at a B&B vs a hotel and we loved all of the extra amenities. We stayed in the Greek Suite which is actually in a section that was built 15 yrs ago. It was nice because we had our own side entrance/ exit to use near our parking spot. The room was spacious with a working fire place. The whirlpool tub was modern with a waterfall spout. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, we added champagne and choc covered strawberries. The strawberries were some of the best Ive ever had! Cookies and drinks are available in the evening. The breakfast was served down the hall in its own room and was plentiful. The milk, juice and coffee station was self serve, you sat family style and chose 2 courses from a breakfast menu. The food was really good especially the biscuits. We ordered the grits, eggs, bacon option and belgium waffle. No complaints and we could barely finish it all. We also enjoyed the Library Bar near the main entrance. Its a cozy little bar with a fire place and craft cocktails. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Jackson because we already know where we will be staying! Oh and theres an awesome restaurant around the corner on Manship Street that will blow your socks off.
Very luxurious place! I love the garden, the gazebo, the maze, the hammock, the benches, what is there not to like? We roam around the inside of the Inn, and checked it out, and walked around the garden. One problem, the keys are difficult to open on all doors (inside & outside). Our car is parked right outside our window, and we have 3 windows on the bottom level. I took a lot of photos & shared on my Facebook album. I'll update tomorrow when we have breakfast.
FLAWLESS!! Unfortunately, I was not an overnight guest at the Inn - only there for a luncheon. BUT it was the best luncheon I've had the pleasure of attending , maybe ever ! More than 100 people gathered for the - food and service were flawless. We were served salmon over a mashed potato with what seemed to be a honey- chipotle glaze, whole green beans. Next to Table 100 it was the best prepared salmon I've had since leaving my home in Wa., where salmon their catfish, you can get it any and everywhere. OH, I almost forgot the incredible salad . Mixed greens, topped with walnuts, cranberries, pears and a dollop of goat cheese. Drizzled with a house vinaigrette that was more tart than sweet and balanced the fruit to PERFECTION! I NEVER ever opt for fruit on a salad and I'd order this again and again. I hear they have a great brunch on Sunday and even better 'special Holiday Brunches'. While I previously may have shied away based on their prices - they earn their keep. Will return - one day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
