Diabetics at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Never had a bad meal here, and we eat here often. Consistent, delicious and ever changing menu keeps us coming back.

We received excellent service from Daniel. He gave us great suggestions, and helped us decide on the Chicken Parm (for my husband) and Meat Lasagna (for myself). We cleaned our plates as much as we could before busting! The lasagna was huge, so I left stuffed and got to take some home. We also enjoyed the toasted ravioli app. We never had to ask for refills as Daniel was paying close attention to our needs. Thanks for a great first experience at Tabella's! We will be back!

After letting hostess know my daughter had nut allergy- manager came to table to make sure we knew what was safe for her to eat. Staff was friendly and upbeat. Pep and sausage pizza was excellent- thin crust so good. Anti pasta salad was so delicious, fresh and large portioned. Healthy lunch option with sautéed spinach, green beans and lemon chicken was perfect for lunch. Great experience- would def return.

Had a great lunch at Tabella today, per usual. The chicken Puglia was fantastic, as was the bread. The fried ravioli was tasty. One thing I missed was the side salad that used to come with lunch orders.

Tabella, what are you doing?? Stick to what you know!! Today after church we let our 4 year old decide where she wanted to eat. She chose the "Apple". Since she started talking, she thinks the tomato is an apple outside. So, we obliged and went it. It's been a few months since we've been here and we first noticed new items on the menu. We decided to try these out. My wife wanted to try the Italian Guacamole. As soon as the waitress brought the guac to the table the image of it was extremely off-putting. Only thing worst than the image of it, was the taste. Basil, does not belong with guacamole...if it does, then it doesn't at Tabella. We looked at the burgers and thought...burgers at tabella?? i'm sure it's good. We've had the branch burger before so we assumed that it would be just as good as Branch. MAJOR disappointment. We both ordered it medium. Medium means there will be pink and juicy. My wife couldn't cut through the burger due to it being burned. Mine was the same way. The burger was extremely overcooked and dry. The management was extremely nice about the issue and made a concession. This is the only reason it received two stars. We aren't sure if we will be back, but want to make sure Tabella knows to KEEP TO WHAT YOU KNOW! Today was the most disappointed we've ever been with Tabella and any RSJ establishments.

Great family meal. Good atmosphere. Great menu. My husband and I spontaneously ordered the same glass of wine, and he waitress offered a bottle stating we could bring home whatever was left. Great deal! Good is staple Italian. I got the shrimp tabella, and while it was good, it was nothing to write home about. My husband got the steak toretta, which was very good, fried artichokes were a great addition to the dish. All in all, we would probably eat here again. We got a kids cheese pizza for my son - it was the size of a regular pizza! Plenty for his little tummy and bring back for later.

NO. This is not Italian food. Ragu yes, authentic Italian NO.

I have eaten here twice, today my third. I'm a little upset because the waitress seems like I'm bothering her. The bread is normally the highlight of my meal; however she brought 4 small pieces of COLD bread out. I ask would you happen to have some warm bread she replied I could put it in the microwave, I smirked. Then I rephrased the question asking for fresh bread. She said NO! I started to get an attitude I'm working on me so I kept quiet. I then ordered my entree, now we are waiting for its arrival. I ordered the salmon prayerfully it's as good as it was the lastime.

Always a great choice. chicken pugilia, shrimp tabella, salmon, and shrimp salad are all great!

  • Chris S.

Although it feels and looks Italian it's not up to par'.the meal me and my friend ate was not worth the cost.even the free bread was a little underwhelming. :/

We went 1 time each week until we ate Sunday brunch here. Now we will be here twice a week. Staff is so efficient, and accommodating. They seem to anticipate what you want. Always get a special off the menu and for Sunday brunch you better be hungry if you order the big breakfast.

I've been to Tabella two times previously and have been fairly happy with my experience. Considering the lack of Italian food in this city, I try not to be too critical of their food. Being a New Orleanian, I'm used to true Sicilian Italian mom and pop food, so excuse me for my overly critical review. I'm truly trying to rate them fairly. Being a spaghetti aficionado, I decided to try their bolognese as well as ordered a glass of their Pinot Grigio. It was probably the worst PG I've ever drank but I guess that's what I get for ordering house PG. They brought out their house bread which I've had before and usually it's warm and soft. This time it was clearly stale and terribly dry to the point of dipping it in the oil didn't really help any. That's pretty sad. My spaghetti bolognese came out and the presentation was pretty depressing. It didn't look fresh and definitely didn't taste fresh. The meat in the sauce was really hard and tasted gritty. The sauce overly peppery. I could have done better using a bottle of Ragu and ground meat honestly (and I don't like Ragu). I decided since I didn't eat much of my spaghetti to try their tiramisu. This is where the review was boosted to three stars. Their tiramisu is pretty damn good. I like the flavor of espresso coming clear through it, so if you don't like a strong espresso tiramisu then this may not be the dessert for you. The service was great throughout. So that also contributed to the reviewing being three stars otherwise it probably would have been two.

Things started out great. House salad and roasted tomato soup were very good. Service a little slow but we were not in a hurry. My wife's Fontina Chicken came in a little overcooked and parts had a fishy taste to it. The accompanying Fettuccine Alfredo was also overcooked and had separated. My Eggplant Parmigiana was good but the Rosemary Potatoes and Green Beans were cold - this could have been 4 stars if they had delivered things properly cooked and warm.

Called ahead and was told they don't take reservations, when we get there they have a table setup for a group that comes in after us and was seated before we were. One hr and 10min later we are still waiting. Hope food and service is better then host.

Just heard a really disturbing report about these guys failing to make a celiac (severely allergic to gluten) boys meal gluten free (after assuring the table they could.) The boy got violently sick and when a family member went to complain was treated abusively to the point of tears. Not to be a downer but that sort of attitude is rude and legitimately dangerous.

Service = 2, food = 3.... the bread was good...atmosphere nice.... marsala sauce is bad..... chicken pugela was ok

Tabella may not earn four stars everywhere, but for Hattiesburg, it deserves four, at least. Pleasant atmosphere, decent wine selection very good food, and remarkable service, considering most servers look to still be in high school. Awesome calzone & spumoni! Try it, you'll like it.

They have a good gluten free menu and put waiter was very knowledgeable about having a gluten allergy and last the food was really good!!!

I'm a BIG FAN of italian and mexican food, and was dead set on "olive garden is the best" (atleast in this area) until I ate Tabella's. They blew Olive Garden out of the water! It all tasted so genuine, and fresh!. I was truly astounded! Although my spinach Florentine was a little on the salty side everything else was beyond my expectations! The Italian food at Tabella's had a true Italian taste to it, in comparison to any other italian restaurant I've visited before. It was such a pleasure feeling "at home" in the restaurant, and as though the people truly wanted us to be there for them to serve. Overall the delicious food, outstanding service, and atmosphere of the place ensure that me and my hubby SHALL be back many times to come!!! Thank You Tabella's for an amazing evening out on the town!

After eating at Crescent for dinner we stopped in for dessert. We got our usual cappuccino and double espresso and I piece of tiramisu. Our coffees were very well made and the tiramisu was outstanding! Our favorite part of the whole experience was chatting with the manager, Tristan. He was a real pleasure. We cannot wait to come back for dinner next month when I am back in town.

Great food. Beautiful place too, despite being in a strip mall. Wonderful risotto and cheesecake so big you'll have to take some home, but will probably eat it within the hour because it's so damn good.

We had a great experience here, and the food was fairly good. Since there are only 2 Italian restaurants (here and Olive Garden) in H'burg. The chicken parmesan was alright but not great. The baked ziti was delicious. Friday nights to Sunday nights are quite busy so try to get there for an early dinner or avoid the long line altogether.

Ate here for lunch. Staff was okay. My waiter came over way too much to ask us how our food was. Me and my friend ate here while we were in the city. We ordered the Sicilian calamari as an appetizer, I ordered the three meat lasagna and my friend ordered the chicken fontani. Both plates were mediocre. My plate came only with a big slice of lasagna. The sauce was okay, wasn't one of the best I've had. Meat was kinda dry in the middle. My friend's plate, her chicken was dry but the green beans was flavorful and the potatoes slices were okay. The best thing we had there was the sicilian calamari. Its just regular calamari but with spices. I wouldn't recommend this for everyone, only if your not a picky eater like I am. I place 3 stars because they are an average rating. Atmosphere is good and the people there are nice and attentive I guess.

As a corporate pilot I stay in 170 hotels a year and eat in about as many restaurants every year. This was my first time in Hattiesburg and first time at this establishment. Quite simply, the decor was very nice, the atmosphere was equally as nice (we were there early on a Tuesday evening..about 5:30pm), and the service was good. After ordering the server brought out some very tasty bread with a small bowl and plates with olive oil. They didn't have the seasoning in the oil like some places but it was still good, and the bread was absolutely terrific. I ordered the chicken piccata and my copilot ordered a pasta dish called Butcher's Pasta. Chicken Piccata came with some roasted potatoes and green beans. Salad is a la carte, and being I wasn't so hungry I skipped it. The chicken was tasty. It had a mild sauce and wasn't that "lemon-y." It was nice. Chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. The sides were both very good also. Copilot's dish was this bowl of a rather different looking curly pasta, with pancetta and sausage. I wish I tasted it but only have his word to go by. He said it was very good and even when he was full he had to continue to eat it because it tasted so good. I thought this restaurant was great and would love to come back. The value of price to quality of meal can't be beat. My dish only cost $10. Would have been a little more if I had ordered a salad but still a great value. His dish was around $13. I'm sure if I lived here I would be going about twice a month till I tried most of the menu.

Always quick and delicious! Servers are extraordinary and every time we go we end up staying for dessert and coffee. Our go-to place! Plus the "world's healthiest lunch" is always a hit with us.

I moved from Dallas to Hattiesburg in July. Eventually I will stop comparing everything I come across in the 'Berg to what I've experienced previously in Big D. I like Tabella's a lot! The food is very good, the wine list extensive, and the service is sincere.

We had a party of 10 & were told we couldn't be seated together. Food took forever. Very loud even when not crowded. Won't return. Robert's got a loser here unless he changes his attitude & food.

I'm gonna start out by saying they're totally trying to lure the chain-restaurant-loving locals away from Olive Garden...but they're doing it by trying to be a local version of the Olive Garden. That said...even mediocre Italian food is pretty damn good...and at least they understand their target market...BUT: The servers carry around this big chalkboard with all the "specials" on it and THOROUGHLY explain each one to you...which is cool, it makes you feel special and all, but only one of the items on the board wasn't on the regular menu...and the menu already has detailed descriptions. If it's on the regular menu, to me it's not a special. So basically they could have just explained that one actual special to me and not wasted my time reading the menu for me. Again, this is Hattiesburg, so I totally see why they do that (people will not read that shit for themselves) but I'm apparently not their target audience. Next...the two page (front and back...so four pages) menu was inexplicably on two separate menus (instead of doing it book-style) which was mad awkward. Not a big deal, but one of those "what the hell!?" things. ...and then the waiter disappeared when it was check-time and we had to get someone to go find him. It was good and all...and I hate chain restaurants so I wanna support them...but this was just a chain restaurant without the chain. They're doing a decent job of catering to their target market, but if I'd have gone to Olive Garden at least I would have gotten free salad...they had bread and oil but it wasn't very good. The decor was pretty good though...the support beams were cleverly disguised as stacks of boxes and I fell in love with the poster of the buxom Italian girl suggestively long-pouring olive oil on a salad. I feel like I should give them 3 stars...but all the negatives would be really easy to remedy, so I'm not letting them off easy just because they're in the 'burg.

OMG!!! Went here for lunch with a friend and all I can say is YUM. We are so full. You get what you pay for. The ingredients were clean and flavorful, the portions were large, and the wait staff was curteous. Will definetly be going back again. If you are in the area and are looking for good Italian food, this is the place to go. Side note: They had plenty of tables for large parties, the dining room is not overly large, but pleanty of stuff to look at.

  • Pat F.

This place is a solid bet when you're in Hattiesburg. That being said, your best bet is getting one of the specials. I recommend the calzone special (whatever it is). I was sad to see the sandwiches removed from the menu, because I enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan sandwich when I had it. Pesto pasta salad is good - pesto is a touch on the oily side. A pretty nice environment - mostly one large open room with booths and tables. Highlights: -Some of the best desserts you will find in the Hub City. Tiramisu is top, Spumoni is refreshing. -Excellent salads (MUST have the House dressing) -Get one of the specials

We've been waiting excitedly for Tabella to open its doors for nearly 5 months now, and managed to get a table this evening on it's first publicly open night. The restaurant itself was very well decorated and had a nice cozy feel to it, even though it was quite open and airy. The service was outstanding. Our table was never cluttered with old dishes or watered down drinks, but we never felt the least bit rushed. Our waiter was great - he was on his toes with everything. The other service staff were friendly and efficient. We started with meatball sliders. DELICIOUS. At about $3.00 apiece, each meatball was a about 2in. big over a bit of mozzarella on a house-made bread. I wish I could remember what I was told it was! I ordered chicken parmesan over fettuccine alfredo and a house salad (apple cider vinaigrette?), and my husband got a shrimp lasagna - we shared a side of sausage and peppers. All of it was perfect. I'm not a fan of sausages or ground meats, but I think I'm in love now. We finished with limoncello cheesecake, which was made in-house. That cheesecake is my new best friend. I can't lie - I'll be sending my husband to bring it home after work at least once a week from now on. To finish, we were also brought two tall shots of limoncello, a thick Italian lemon liqueur. Interesting taste, for sure. I'll be back (weekly), and I recommend to anyone curious that he/she get a table and eat til you're nearly sick. :)

Good Italian food has finally come to the South! Located in Hattiesburg, MS, Tabella blew me away. I had the Pasta Roberto which had Italian sausage, spinach, mushrooms, and tomato cream sauce over pasta. It was so good! Not really expecting much from such a small town, I was pleasantly surprised upon dining here. It's locally owned by a group of chefs so they know what they are doing. Ditch your chain Olive Garden, and go to Tabella. Tabella doesn't take reservations so you need to get there early for dinner or otherwise you will end up waiting. If you do wait, it's worth it! They have a great wine selection which covers their entire wall. We had a nice Polka Dot Riesling with our dinner. Can't wait to eat here again when I make a visit to Hattiesburg! You need to try it out!

Was given dirty, room temperature water in four small glasses out of a glass water vase or jug. Latter witnessed a waiter or bus boy clearing off a nearby table and poured used water into a main vase then took it to the back. Because it was a new restaurant in Hattiesburg, I was ok with the wait but not ok with the fried lobster on my pasta that tasted and felt like overcooked rubber.

    (1)
  • Jack S.

Bread is good, speciality drinks are horrid and the food is overcooked and below average.. The funniest thing I have seen at a restaurant was the " special board" outside declared that the food was the most delicous he had ever tasted... signed by of all people... the OWNER... lolz

One of my favorite places in Hattiesburg for a nice fancy feeling evening meal without the high price. They also do offer a good lunch. All the food I have tried has been good and their bread is exceptional. I have never tried any of their drinks, but they do have a full bar and rather large selection of wines. The waiters are friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. I have never had to wait to be seated.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
