Pretty good food, best bang for your buck place that is near the beach, yeah I've had better but this place is best BBQ for the area it's in.

If we want BBQ, we usually come here... Even though their Gulfport location is right down the road from us. Biloxi is cleaner and friendlier. We hate The Shed and Pleasant's is too far. Service seems to depend on the day. Last time, we had a guy who had to be 6'5 and he was great. The girls are always aloof. I always get the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and potato salad. My hubby gets the brisket sandwich with baked beans and fries. The pulled pork is great and I love their sauce. When I was pregnant, I craved it all the time. The baked beans are always good and the potato salad tastes like(and probably is) Sysco's, but I keep getting it! Last time, I tried the cole slaw and didn't care for it. It was much too sweet. Months ago, they had different fries and they were amazing with this special crisp to them but I see that they've changed them to average fries. I recommend them if you're looking to solve a BBQ craving and don't want to drive 30 minutes!

Went here for lunch yesterday and had the brisket sandwich. I enjoyed the brisket quite a bit. It was moist and just smokey enough. Not Texas brisket, but still pretty damned good. :-) The green beans had a good flavor, but it was hard to get over the canned vegetable consistency. The cole slaw was just about right. A hair on the sweet side for me, pretty good. The service was efficient. Not the friendliest waitress on the face of the planet, but she got us our food.

Called the restaurant to give them a heads up that we had a party of 10 coming in, and was put on hold indefinitely. When we arrived, the lobby was packed and guests were told there was a 45 minute wait despite half the tables in the restaurant being empty. When we made a comment about all the empty tables, an employee became defensive and said those tables are reserved for other parties (none of which ever showed up, and we were there until closing). The "bartender" was inattentive and seemed inconvenienced by us ordering drinks. Oh, and they don't have liquor. The food was terrible, like worse than school cafeteria food. The pulled pork was dry and cold. The mac and cheese was basically boiled pasta covered in nacho cheese. This "restaurant" has no redeeming qualities. I would not return.

I'm very impressed with this place. Robert my server was on point with service. The smoke wasn't heavy they used pecan and oak. This is a destination point whenever in this part of town. The local beer, i enjoyed here is called SurfSide.

Such an easily accessible location and you get seated as soon as you walk through the door. From then on, in two separate visits, I've experienced that that is the end of the customer service experience. If you get a drink within 10 minutes you should buy a lottery ticket on the way home. The dining areas are very nice and can accommodate very large groups. The decor is nice and very pink and the back patio is nice for those spring and fall days. The BBQ is passable but in no way special to the area. The portions were fairly small and the sides were good but, once again, not really a standout from other area BBQ joints. I like it for the convenience but that's about it. There are many other local BBQ places that have better atmosphere, service, and food.

Love the food. Go once a week and buy a pound of BBQ pulled pork to go when we leave. Love the blues playing in the background too. Not an upscale decor but who cares.

The place is convenient and has plenty of parking. I like the decor and the general feel. I found the portions to be very small and pricey. The sauce was very good, but neither the pork nor the chicken had a notable smoke flavor and might have well been roasted in the oven. The service was lackluster, and I really could have done without the sweeping right next to our table. I will probably be back due to the location, but I would never go out of my way to go this place.

This place is awesome! Service was great in spite of them getting hit with a party of 20+ unexpectedly shortly after we arrived. Our waiter Kody was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. We had the nachos with pulled pork, nacho cheese and smoked sausage and split a brisket sandwich with Andygator beers to wash it all down. Also purchased a jar of sauce to bring home since it was so good. Someone mentioned they ran out of brisket & I can see why. Good BBQ, friendly staff and worth stopping for!!

Slap ya mama? I wouldn't slap someone I didn't like. The food is below mediocre. The mac and cheese is worse than craft and was cold. The corn on the cob is frozen and mushy. The pulled chicken is dry and gross. How does one mess up chicken you ask? Ask the owner of Slap ya mama bar b que! The only thing that's kinda good was the sweet tea, but that's if you like or want to get diabetes. Oh the world famous brisket, mediocre doesn't begin to describe it. Will not return for small portions of baby b que that's way over priced.

I'm from Kansas City and I'm tough on BBQ places accordingly, but Slap Ya Mommas had great food! I tried a sampler with 3 meats and hands down, the BBQ pork was my favorite. Crispy caramelized chunks with just the right amount of sauce were heaven on the palate. The only reason I didn't rate higher is they didn't have live music. With weather this good in the south, I was surprised I would have to wait until Memorial Day for the season to start (and live music to be available).

Our waitress was great but the food was just so so. Plus we watched the manager as she watched a family get up and leave with one of their baseball caps in the seat. She waited until she got off the phone before she picked it up and put it on the hostess station. I'm sure they would have appreciated her picking it up and giving it to them before they left but I guess the phone call was more important than customer service.

Here on business and heard this place was good. Tried the Brisket Sandwich with cheese fries for lunch and it was REALLY good. The bun on the sandwich was super soft and the meat was perfect. We plan on hitting it again before we leave.

I would tell everyone to eat there. The good and the service are great. If you like pull pork this is your place to go. They have the best BBQ on the coast.
