Delivery is probably the highlight of this restaurant. They are reasonable with getting the food to where it needs to go in a timely matter. Ordered here a few times thinking the food would get better, but it didn't. And each order was different! Sushi was very mediocre, bland, and the fish did not look fresh at all. The sushi was never finished because the taste gets old quick. The only decent meal was the yakisoba. Don't have high expectations with what's ordered. Everything on the menu sounds good, but has a very different outcome. Not guaranteed to coming back, there are other sushi places worth trying.

Deliveryyyyy!!!11one I debated between 3 and 4 stars and gave it 4. It'd feel disingenuous if I gave it only 3 stars while I'm ordering it occasionally. The sushi is poor to decent, depending on the specific roll. For the most part, the cheap rolls kind of suck while the expensive ones are worth getting, if for nothing other than the bountiful ingredients. Clearly, these people did not undergo ten years of sushi training as an apprentice.....lol. Their Hibachi meals, however, are quite good. I particularly like the scallops and that pinkish-yellowish sauce they give you.

Had the steak and chicken with fried rice. It was fast and they're friendly. Like the call ahead deal. Wasn't a big fan of the rice though.

I really wanted to like this place, I even went in with low exceptions, while the people who work there are nice. The food just isn't very good. This place strongest point is that it can deliver to your house if you are close enough, the food sushi tasted very bland and had too much nasty sauce, I won't be coming back here.

I have eaten here a few times mostly because they are in a convenient spot. BUT I will never go here again. I always thought their fried rice was nasty but continued to order sushi which for the most part is good but not at all consistent. I go today and in my spider roll i get something that taste super DISGUSTING with a very CHEWY consistency. I have no idea what it is but it definitely had TWO LEGS! I am posting a pic after this review. If you eat here, you are not guaranteed what you order!!! I got SHAMMED! Dishonest business.

I wish I could give no stars. We are in town working and our hotel is 4 miles away from this place. Not only were they rude on the phone, the said they don't deliver 4 miles! 4 MILES! Stop advertising you deliver, if u can't go 4 miles!

Definitely not worth your money or your tastebuds. I ordered a dynamite roll and shrimp friend rice and both were bland and boring. The rice was drenched in oil so much so I couldn't eat it. The only reason I'm giving this experience a 2 is because they deliver onto base.

Oishi Japanese Express is a fast food restaurant for sushi. My husband and I ate there. We ordered only the sushi. You order your food first before sitting down. The food is not bad. Next time I would like to try the cooked foods. Prices are reasonable for sushi.

Sushi was complete garbage. The rice was mushy and the spicy runs had no flavor. Very disappointed. Crab Rangoon was pretty good and the hibachi is ok. All around decent if you are stuck in the TDY dorms with no car. But if I lives here I wouldn't order again.

This Japanese hibachi and sushi restaurant just opened recently and I have been there twice. It was previously Atami Japanese Express and has kept the same phone number: (228)523-2555. It pretty much has the same menu...offering hibachi, yakimesi, yakisoba and sushi, and various appetizers, but no side order of takuan Both of my visits have been carry out. First visit my friend and I ordered chicken yakisoba, beef yakisoba, and Kani cheese, (crab Rangoon). There was more than enough to share, and we agreed it was good, not the best Japanese food we've ever had, (I admit, living in San Francisco, I was spoiled by the Japantown neighborhood), but still better than most Asian Expresses, and we probably wouldn't go out of our way to order again. Second time, I was in the area, not sure what I wanted and saw Oishi and decided to give it another go. This time I ordered the shrimp and scallop hibachi and Japanese spring rolls. Spring rolls were meh, but the shrimp and scallops hibachi was really good. The shrimp were fresh, sweet and deveined. Unfortunately, the scallops were not whole but cut into pieces, still tasty, but could've used at least a half dozen more pieces. Just like the first visit, there was plenty food. enough for two meals for a single diner, granted there is a lot of fried rice, but it is very fresh, and the broccoli and mushrooms are not cooked to a goopy consistency. But, they still do not offer takuan - BOO! I gave Oishi 3 stars because it is a nice alternative to the usual fast food. The food is fresh, the portions are generous - but I just don't think I would go out of my way to eat there still. But if you are in the vicinity and hungry - give it a shot. It would have received 4 stars, except for the scallops being cut into pieces, and for the omission of takuan on the menu. HINT: There is an Asian Market across the street that sells it for $5.49 a radish. I also noticed that they have free delivery to Keesler. Oishi might want to expand their delivery area.
