Oops. These guys slide off the food coaster. Here for lunch and fantastic service. Awesome! But went for the crunchy Taco and Enchiladas. Taco she'll is not crunchy. It's chewy! Ahhh! Have you ever bit into a corn crunchy taco? Now add lots of oil and allow the oil to saturate the shell. Chips brought earlier to the table has the same problem. In order to get stars an establishment must give good food. 2 stars today.

I was coerced into a return trip. Nothing has changed, and in fact, it may have been worse. I hate to say it, but I cannot imagine anyone who has even had "Mexican food" from Taco Bell would or could confuse whatever this place serves with either "Mexican" or "food." This time, I figured the fajitas, which aren't even really Mexican, would be safe due to the high heat normally involved. No such luck. Lukewarm strips of round steak (I hope) and onions. The corn tortillas are Walmart quality. It was like ordering a roast beef poor boy and getting deli meat on Wonder bread. This place cannot even do Tex-Mex right! If you really do like this place, God help you. For everyone else, if you are hungry for flavorless beans, bland rice and mystery meat, just go to Taco Bell. If you are hungry for "Mexican"/Tex-Mex, go to any other "Mexican" place on the coast - I promise it will be better. Do not expect a third review because I cannot imagine any temptation, including sex or money, that might be able to get me in an El Saltillo for a third time.

3 stars today because service was very slow. Three place wasn't busy but we had to ask for our server more than once. Food was good as always

Aside from the food being great.. Everything else was horrible. It wasn't really busy when I visited this location with my boyfriend and not once after our food came to is were we checked on for refills on our drinks or anything. When the check came to us, the waiter brought us someone else's check. My boyfriend had to track down the waiter to get the correct check. When we went to the front counter to pay, no one was there to take our payment. We waited for about five minutes and got fed up with waiting and just left the check and cash laid on the counter by the computer and walked out. Worst service either of us have had in a long time.

This place is great. The chips and salsa are good. Wouldn't mind having some of the chili powder to sprinkle on them but OK. The chicken chimichanga is great. The steak burrito is great. Someone below had commented on the service and I have never had problem with the service here. I eat here often and Christian (A server mentioned below) is the server I request. If he sees us before we are seated he already has the drinks in place and usually he gives us a few minutes to figure out what we will eat. If the place is busy of course you will not see the waiter as often as when they aren't busy. I don't really care for the one on Edgewater and I don't really care for the one in Ocean Springs. I like this one. The food is different at each place and I think they even have different menus. I sit in the smoking section to try to avoid the kids. As there are a large number of families here I am stressed when the kids are loud and running around. Maybe they should make the bar area a Kid Free Zone.

My family and I visit this place frequently. The service and food is always good. The prices are very affordable especially at lunch time. Will definitely keep going back.

Just to be clear... Four stars means 'Yay, I'm a fan!' I and my lunch partner both had number 17 on the lunch menu. That dish includes a chile relleno, enchilada, and quesadilla. All three were good, not great. That was the judgment I made before I paid the bill, but when I saw the ticket, I changed my mind. Both plates, with drinks, totaled 15 American dollars. That, my friend, moved lunch up to great in my book! The salsa is good. It's moderately chunky, which gives it some texture, and it has fresh cilantro mixed in for that little bit of Mexican interest. The chips were fresh and warm. All of the food arrived hot and, while just basic Mex cuisine, it was flavorful and appealing. The only thing I regret now is that I did not order a margarita. It would have been worth the sugar.

Looking for a restaurant and this Mexican place which was crowded hit the spot. Overall I would rate it a 4 but the dude with the 1 is probably pissed off competition. I had the Camornes ala diablo and my wife a combination. The food was hot and just the right spice. We both had Margaritas which were great.

Afraid to walk in after seeing the reviews, but had occasion to eat at their Ocean Springs location not long ago & found the experience delightful...the experience here was much the same, though I came in alone this time...the seating was immediate on a Saturday afternoon, appx 4 pm; the service was also exemplary (Cervano was the name of my waiter) & the meal sufficient for a hungry patron! Dos Equis on draft was cold & served w/lime in a large frozen mug...The flan was obviously made in-house & was delicious, served w/whipped cream & cherry on top!

The wife and I decided to give this a try tonight. Delicious delicious delicious! The atmosphere is laid back but nice. The staff was super friendly. Our order came out very quick and was piping hot. The food was superb. On top of the good meal and standard chips. They also have a fresh soup station with bean soup. If you are in the area I would highly recommend checking this place out. Also giving 5 stars. Obvious troll is obvious.

If you're in the Cedar Lake area and looking for a non-chain restaurant check out El Saltillo - it is easy to miss as it is in a large shopping center that more or less looks empty. This place is great for a quick, cheap lunch and I've never had a bad meal here. Their service is always spot-on and wicked quick. Try the fajitas, the chicken soft tacos, or just about anything else on the menu and prepared to have an immense amount of food put in front of you. While all these things are great I can't fully give it four or five b/c I've had some pretty excellent Mexican food and while this is great it isn't the BEST. That being said it shouldn't dissuade you from checkin it out!

Terrible! It took over 45 minutes to get an order in and just as long to get the food! The food was cold, but the plate was terribly hot to touch. I've been here one other time and thought it was bad then! Next time I will spend the extra 5 minutes to go to El Rancho. Do NOT go El Saltillo unless you have a lot of time to waste on bad cold food! Never again. Go to KFC across the street first!!!!

This place is great. The chips and salsa are insane. The chicken chimichanga is awesome. There are large chunks of chicked and crispy tender. This is the first time I've had a chicken chimichanga and the first time an open chimichanga, just one end. It was crispy but not overly crunchy. My buddy got the super burrito and loved it. You can get it without sauce on top, but doesn't reccomend it. There are two in biloxi. The other one is a 3 star at best really slow service and the quality and quantity of food isn't the same.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
