TL;DR food is alright, service is quick and attentive. I came here on a weeknight, not exactly sure what to expect. The chips came out hot, but the salsa was a bit bland. It was fresh tasting though. The menu was large and had a good selection of food that was not limited to just combinations, burritos, and tacos. If you order a dinner entree, you can get yourself a bowl of bean soup for free. With that being said, I ordered a steak burrito which had refined beans and steak in it, rice and beans on the side, and cheese sauce covering it. The steak was cooked well, and the cheese came out hot so that it hadn't turned into a solid sheet on my food (always a plus). I did not try the soup though, so I'm of no help there. Overall, the food was alright and the service was attentive and friendly.

Similar thing happened to me as Audry review. I ordered taco salad with sour cream and guac on side when it came there was no guac. I asked him to please bring it he charged me $4 for a side. I pointed this out and suddenly he didn't speak English well. I paid. Never will return. Too many good Mexican places near by. This was always the closest to me but never again. Ps the salad is only $6 so $4 was insulting

Last time here received terrible service. Decided to give it another chance - mistake! Terrible service again. Had to flag down a waiter to order then received no follow up service. Food about a B but overall experience is an F. There will be no third time!

This place sucks! I ordered a cheese and onion enchilada with rice and beans and I got a cheese and onion quesadilla. Not even close to the same thing. The waitress passed by three times before even noticing that our drinks were completely empty! Then she asked if we wanted more! Of course I do.. Seeing how you just gave me my food. I'm a great tipper but I'm gonna tip probably about 2$.

I'd give this restaurant four stars, based on the all-around great food and atmosphere, as well as the price of food and our margaritas on the rocks. The food we had there was pretty delicious, but the service was okay. This is quite a good Mexican restaurant, but I don't know what to put the whole experience into perspective. I'd come back there.

If I could give 0 stars then I would for this place. The waiters are rude and their happy hour specials are a joke unless you specifically tell them to give you the happy hour special even if you order the HH drink during HH. Unbelievable.

I had to give 3 stars only because I really enjoyed my entree and Margarita. I had the bistec a la Mexicana with hot peppers added, which was tasty with some bite to it. The server was rude, he was almost throwing things on table and extremely rushed. I thought he was rushed because there was a big party he was tending to but things didn't change after they left. We ate half a bowl of chips, which did taste a little funny, even before our water was brought the table. There are lots of Mexican places on the coast that I'll have to try before coming back here.

I will not return to this one, ordered the Churrasco that I have had twice at the Cedar Lake Rd location, and it did not taste anything like it should have. Could not taste the steak or onion. I don't know if the oil was bad or the grill was dirty but not trying this location again. I will further away for a better meal.

We were served a margarita with a roach in the drink. The waiter shrugged his shoulders and said he must have been in the ice. Terrible....after that bad experience they still made us pay for our dinner.

I go here probably once a month and have never had anything but good experiences. I usually finish my meal and then hit the bar area for a drink (or ten), and really enjoy myself. It's a bummer that other reviewers have had bad experiences.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
