I've only eaten here once, but it was a good experience. It's beachfront property and we sat outside, so you can imagine what the atmosphere was like. APPETIZERS The gumbo was good, even if it could have been served a bit warmer. It had a very dark roux, sausage, crab, shrimp and crawfish. The crab cakes were some of the best I have had on the coast...heavy on the crab, light on the breading. The oysters were on the small side to be gulf oysters and I am curious where they came from. They were not very briny. ENTREES Shrimp po-boy was fantastic and better than the softshell crab po-boy. The sushi was great (Atom Bomb Roll, Biloxi Roll, Spicy Tuna, Unagi) and reasonably-priced. SERVICE Service was fine, but nothing special.

The restaurant has only been open about a month and they are still figuring things out. With a party of 8 we had about a 20 minute wait even though there were tables available. Come to find out the kitchen was on hold because they were so backed up. We waited at the bar, which was great. James, the bartender, was fun and attentive. We were finally seated and our server seemed pretty new at her job. Maybe a little overwhelmed. The food took forever to get to the table and was good enough but not amazing. I might go back again just for appetizers and drinks at the bar since the location is so great.

Second time here... First time they burned our calamari appetizer, and service was sub-par. We decided to give it another chance...this place sucks. Service and food are horrible. You are paying for the view. Hope this place lasts the year, because if they think their servers and food are going to keep them open, they are naive.

Higher priced than I'd expect, but the food was tasty and the patio was a nice place to be on a slightly windy night. Enjoyed the experience overall. I'll be back.

Enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly service so much that we went two consecutive days in a row. The food was delicious, and the drinks were amazing!

Bad food, bad service and watered down drinks. But, other than that, it's a good restaurant.

This review was complicated for me to write. It was the opening weekend for this restaurant. For starters it's located on the south side of Hwy 90, which is prime location for the perfect view of the Gulf of Mexico. There is ample parking out front. Be AWARE, be prepared for the climb to the front entrance. They do have wheelchair access but the ramp has got to be at least 200 feet long on a steep incline!! This restaurant was nicely built. As you walk in dining is to right, and to the left is a sushi bar along with a full service bar. There is also seating outside on the back porch which has an awesome panoramic view of the Gulf. Our drink order consisted mostly of Bloody Mary's and ice water. The drinks took about 10 minutes to arrive. Onward to the food review, we had 8 people dining with us. A few of us tried to order some appetizers, but we were told they were out of several items. We then asked the waitress to just tell us what they had in stock and then ordered. We got two orders of fried calamari and it was delicious. Two people got sushi rolls, they said it was "jam up" and fresh. They recommended it. Then for entrees we were told there were no steamed entrees, no oyster rockefeller, no jerk chicken among several other entrees. Well you could see the trend here........ The food took about 45 minutes to arrive after we ordered. I ordered the soft shell crab poboy and my wife ordered a shrimp poboy and a bowl of gumbo. The poboys were about 6" long, very little seafood on it (it was just okay) I would give it 2.0-3.0 stars. The gumbo was more like an étouffée, seemed like a butter based.... Again 2.0- 2.5 stars. Okay remember this restaurant just opened. I may return in a few months by then they should have all the kinks worked out with the glitches in service and the "empty" menu. Honestly I expected the glitches! Then I will update my review. They were spot on with the sushi, but the seafood needs more work..just trying to be honest!! If anything it will be a great place to get drinks out on the back porch.

The view is exceptional but I cannot say the same about the food. First off, we came in on a Sunday around 1pm and waited for almost 2 hours. They were plenty of open tables but I think they were short on staff. We finally got a table outside and placed our orders. Food came out fairly fast considering how long we had to wait to get seated. We ordered the baked lobster tail appetizer, tuna tataki appetizer, the volcano roll, atom bomb roll, and the angus burger. Portions are very, very small for the outrageous prices that was charged. Our burger was super dry and bland. Our bill was close to $100 for 2 people and we had a few drinks. I would not recommend this place for food but if you are going out and having a few drinks, then the view is worth it. Unless they change up their prices or their size portions, I don't think I'll be coming back either.

They have a pretty good sushi bar and the seafood selection is definitely better than most.

Great location in a beautiful new building on the beach! My husband and I got there about 5:30. We sat at the bar and had drinks and spinach artichoke dip until our table was ready at about 6:10. The Blue Crab margaritas are a-may-ziiiing. Our waitress looked and talked just like Miley Cyrus, except with red hair. It was hilarious. She was a great waitress and made sure we had everything we needed. We both ordered the catfish platter which had died catfish, French fries, and 4 dipping sauces. The catfish didn't have a super "fishy" taste so that was good in my book! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the hostess staff didn't have it together. We were afraid at several points that they had forgotten we were there or thought we had left. This place is still new and overall I thought they did a pretty good job.

Great start for the Blue Crab House. The restaurant, bar and sushi bar are open but we didn't see a fish market. It looks like it may go under the restaurant. This will be a great hangout in the summer if they offer drink and app specials. I had the Spider Roll which was very tasty and average sized. Hubby had the shrimp tacos with a side of the garlic roasted potatoes. The tacos were really good and seemed to have some radish in them. Delish! Lunch was $30 for the 2 of us and we had waters for drinks. PS They are still out of steamers.

Slightly over priced for what you get Oysters were too small Dessert choices need work--we didn't order from the two available options Out of a lot of stuff--should have planned to have enough food for Saturday night on Memorial Day weekend Sushi was sent back because fish was warm Other food was tasty, but in small portions (blackened mahi mahi) Burger was very good Shrimp pasta was very good Seafood steamer was good Fish tacos on a separate visit were amazing

Really what kind of crab house has crab legs and no crab utensils.? Get with it managers order some small crab forks. Great views!

Great location on the beach. Unfortunately there was no breeze which made the 94 degree temps feel even hotter. I ordered Fish Tacos & made the mistake of not ordering Mahi Mahi but rather catfish. Tacos were good but not outstanding. Our server was very hospitable as well. One employee walked around with iPod earbuds in his ear looking rather bored. The overhead music was loud & made it difficult to talk during our dining in.

Beautiful location on Hwy 90. We ate there on 2/15/14. There was a long wait to be seated but we sat at the sushi bar which was fine by us since we went for sushi anyways. It's the best sushi I've ever had. The sushi chef used to run a fantastic sushi place in Ocean Springs called Shiso and we are so happy that they are back. We started with the Baked Lobster and Tuna Tartar. Both are tremendous. Spicy and flavorful without being painful to eat. As for rolls we went all out and had the atom bomb, bubba gump, and lobster roll. These were our favorites and remain to be as they are fresh, and done better than any other sushi place on the coast. The rolls aren't tiny but they aren't huge. As for price it's a bit higher than other places but the sushi isn't like Rouse's sushi. The only negative was my Old Fashioned from the bar which was weird, but it still had whiskey so whatever.

Great location, bad food, service takes wwwaaayyy too long. Overpriced seafood. The oysters were warm and small. I would not come back. Stay away.

Arrive on a lazy Sunday. Hardly any customers. Approached fairly quick by the waitress and drinks were returned promptly. Husband has the fish tacos which he said were good but but not great. I ordered the crawfish special. In my opinion crawfish are hard to screw up...unless they are frozen and reheated and served luke warm with hardly any seasoning. One small potato accompanied the platter and had to ask for a ear of corn (which was a half ear and not cooked well at all). Beers were not very cold. View is great. Definitely NOT a do-over for a $56 lunch bill.

What ever happened to a full plate of food if your going to charge these prices. At $20 a entree I should get more than a child's meal. Flavors were muddled and tasted like from a can. Service was slow and people were raving about how good it was but seemed to be friends of the owners. My plates were definitely not worth writing home about...

Great location, tiny oysters, warm beer and fish was not as advertised, very fishy tasting. Over priced, will not be going back.

They weren't very busy but shaggys next door was packed! We wanted to try somewhere new as we have been to shaggys a few times... The food at blue crab house was over priced and wasn't all that good. The fried green tomatoes were not sweet and green, once cut they were pinkish...however the toppings (crab and sauce) were good. The fried catfish pot boy was big but there was 1 wilted piece of lettuce and the bread was soggy, not like the typical French bread poboy. The shrimp tacos and fish tacos were oooook... I was not pleased at all... Would much rather go get shrimp or fish tacos at outback SOOO good! Oh well... Lesson learned. We will not be going back, overpriced and not nearly as good as shaggys next door, which has lower prices...

Weak drinks. Raw oysters on the half shell were not flavorful and they were not cold. Soft shell crab po boy had very little crab and was almost inedible. Fried shrimp plate was good. Two stars because of the view.

I got recommended that place by someone and decided to check it out. When I went there, it looked all nice and really spacy. But I went over there hungry and expected to get full, not just to look at their fancy country style interior. Needless to say, the average price for their entry was $20-$30. Thats what you would expect to pay for a really nice restaurant in San Francisco Pier, not in run down Mississippi town. I gave it a shot anyways and ordered a salmon, which was advertised for $18. I expected a full platter of food, instead I got a kid's size meal which included really skinny fish fillet, tasted like Wal Mart frozen prepackaged food and couple scoops of plain boiled mini red potatoes that had no topping, no butter, just plain ol potatoes with some grease on it. Not a single slice of veggie or salad. It was laying on a few traces of parsley. Wow I did not get expect to get ripped off and walk out hungry and pissed.

Fried green tomatoes were fantastic. Alfredo sauce best I've ever had. Steak tender and done to perfection. Blackened flounder perfect. Service was fast and friendly. We all recommend this place. Do not pass this place up.

Great location on the beach but the food was marginal at best. We asked other diners near how their meals were and they all said not good. I hope they can improve their food. Too many good restaurants in the area to serve bad food.

This place is obviously a tourist trap meant for those who do not know what coastal seafood is like or what an appropriate price is. (as most restaurants along the beach are). I admit, the view is nice, but that's it. The selection is very limited, and very expensive for what it is. The sushi is not good at all, and I would not recommend it. I had the seafood steamer, which was $26. It had 2 crab leg clusters, which were pretty good. It also included 4 "jumbo" shrimp. Maybe jumbo by the standards of someone who has never seen a shrimp before. They were very average. In the end, you're paying for the location on the beach, not the food.

Nice place. I had the oyster rockafeller. Not bad but I never had them before. On the expensive side

Had the crab waffle fries, $10, more fries that. Sauce. Food was good and portion seemed right. Bloody Mary and Margarita was great. View is awesome and service was great. Prices are a little high.

Enjoyed the deck for a romantic, relaxing Sunday night dinner. Portions were kinda small for the price; sushi rolls small, fried seafood platter tad small we had to order an app at the end of our meal. But...still enjoyed it.

This was by far the worse dinning experience I have had in a long time. We went in on July 18, 2014 with a party of twelve. We waited over an hour and a half for our food. Then when we got our food we had one flounder plate that the fish was ruined, and a burger with ruined hamburger meat. I am not typically one to post a bad review but in this case I feel compelled too. I asked four times to speak to a manager about the issues and when Lynn(the manager on duty) finally came out I expresses our concerns and she said it was not there fault that they had a big crowd and tried to blame the ticket time on our server, I will say he was great and I told here that and that half here kitchen staff was on the deck smoking instead of cooking she then said "it's not my problem" I take issue with managers like these because I have worked in some of the best food service establishments in the south and know when a customer complains you hear them out! I also don't care how busy you are spoiled food should be discarded immediately because not only is it unsafe it is a big liability and can result in litigation and lose of your food service permit. Until the ownership gets a grip on there it's said to see a prime location establishment represent our town so poorly!

We had the spinach dip with crabmeat for appetizer very good!! And we ordered the atom bomb roll, Phil's roll and the Biloxi roll it was some of the best sushi I have ever had! Very fresh! Definitely recommend this place to get your sushi fix!

I don't know about the rest of the menu but do not come here for sushi. The rice was plain. It was a little better buffet sushi.

Great location, and nice facilities but thats about it. Service was poor and food was average at best. For a new restaurant they have a long ways to go. No excuse for waiters to not know the menu or whats drinks they have behind the bar.

This place is brand spanking new and very nice looking. It has a wonderful view of the gulf and a huge deck to stare out at the water while eating. The sushi bar was very good. The rolls looked very nice and the taste was good. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the food. Most of it was bland and some of it had to be sent back. The standout for me was the fried green tomato with shrimp appetizers. They were amazing. Once the chef learns how to properly season fish with salt, pepper and some lemon juice this place should be fine.

Had lunch 6/1/14 great service, good food, staff was very helpful and friendly, will do it again. Catfish poorboy- shrimp poorboy with crab fingers to start it off.

Newish place on the coast next to Shaggy's. They feature typical gulfcoast fare (e.g. fried seafood, some form of comeback sauce, etc...). My biggest complaint is the discrepancy between the menu and what was actually served. For example, one person at our table ordered a $22 entrée that was labeled to include salad and fries, no fries accompanied her meal. Another member of our party ordered a dish that featured waffle fries - turns out they don't even have waffle fries. Food quality was okay, but definitely not worth the premium price. Most entrees were comparable in price to places like Half Shell or Red sky, but the quality/value was much poorer. I paid 50 bucks for 2 entrees and an appetizer and left the place less than thrilled. Service was okay, but when we raised our concerns of not actually receiving the food we though we ordered, the staff sort of just dismissed the issue as business as usual. FYI, they do serve boiled crawfish, 15 dollar per 1.5 lbs.

We read the reviews, but we decided to try it out for ourselves. It was fantastic . We got the blackened flounder and scallops, and both were absolutely delicious. The top held margarita was great, and Linda, our server, was fantastic. Be sure to give this place a try!

Great view! Great swing when you walk in (photo op) crab cakes are amazing. The food is 5 star worthy but the service lacks the sophistication to match the service. Worth a trip in.
