I'm so happy I finally went here. It's so cute: a small diner in the corner of a building, stripes of sunlight shining in through the blinds in the evening, a curving bar with a line of bar stools and just one guy cooking for everybody. He's a man of few words but he gets your order, fast and right. I doubt you could go wrong here, but I got the bibimbob. I was so full but I still want more, so I'm definitely coming back.
Diner setting, small menu and about 20 seats. The cook has an open kitchen - warm, quaint and I only saw a one man staff. I ordered the beef bulgogi bibimbap, but the egg was cooked rubbery because the flame was too high. The beef marinade was tasty, and the raw vegetables added a nice freshness to the dish, but there wasn't enough of the vegetables. This is a good place for quick and cheap korean food, but be careful since it's cash only! Happy Eating!
Cheap, fast, good korean food. The owner is not really talkative and will speak as few words to you as possible. Again, the food was excellent and I will definitely be back on those days when I don't want to cook for myself. I would give it 5 stars, but the environment is a little less than ideal. Also it's cash only. Otherwise, great food and great place!

Always a reliable spot full of hipsters that love to dance. Even when other locations suck/are not busy/have odd crowds, you can find a crowd at HandleBar that just wants to have a good time. They're not consistent about charging a cover. The most that they've asked for has been $5. Drinks are average pricing.
This is my go to bar for craft beer. They have plenty on tap and the selections are rotated regularly. It's a friendly place and its clientele is as diverse as its beer selection. The food is great as well. Not the usual style bar food. Served fresh and always plated nicely.
Limited menu but the food was good and it offers a break from the usual bar food. You can just go with a pizza if you want but they have some more unique options than most bars you go to. The different food options pushed a 3 star review to a 4 star, respect has to be given when a place does something a little different Trivia night was fun, a group cheated but it's free trivia so no need to let that ruin the fun night. The drinks were good pours, not watered down and priced very reasonably...Might have had a few more than I should because it was such an affordable night The service is a drawback, it's pretty slow, it's not awful, but it's a bit slower than I'm accustomed too. The noise level was horrible, there's hardwood floors, no accoustic tile on the ceiling and not much on the walls so a level of noise that may be a low hum in many bars was a roaring mess in this bar. Please put up some ceiling tile or something to attempt an improvement with the noise levels, it was much louder than it needed to be due to logistic issues with the room. Fun night, I'd go back for sure, it's worthy of the 4 star for the affordable grub and drinks but the noise level and slow service is a concern depending on what your tolerance is for such things.

I just had the most amazing dinner at Layla's. The Clarice burger was delicious. We topped off our dinner with gooey butter baklava. Heavenly! Everybody needs to go to this wonderful establishment.
Love Love Love Layla! The food is amazing and the staff is wonderful!
If you haven't checked this place out after new owners took over, you need to go! It is clean, really clean. A friend and I stopped in for dinner and Brandy was helping us. Polite, charming, and a great help in deciding what we wanted to eat. We started with the batata on the her recommendation. Great choice. The flavors were very fresh and appealing. I moved onto the beirut burger.... I didn't expect a burger that big to come out, but it was delicious. The kale was perfect, and cooked just right. Nothing I can complain about here. And to make the meal even better, finishing with a baklava shake. This place does fresh food right, and their drinks are on par with some of the best craft cocktails I've had in Saint Louis.
