How can anyone accept the attitude of indifference and rudeness that the club administrative staff ("Connie") dispenses freely towards members and quests? Whatever her bad day is about she will make sure you know it. Run, do not walk away from this poorly staffed and managed "club." It is a shame, but hard as they are trying to get new members, their attitude will turn off anyone even thinking about membership. The condescending and disrespectful way these folks treat prospective members is so far over the top that it defies polite description. Worst experience I can remember.

This is the most over rated dining experience in Springfield. The Tower Club, which is supposed to be the elite members only dining club in town is more like a bad hotel bar and restaurant. The food is never consistent and never of quality. The service is not worth your time or effort and the so call exclusivity of it all is a joke. What I'm saying is I think I would rather eat a McDonald's, which I hate with a passion, than dine at this "overpriced elite hot spot."

Very nice atmosphere and good food, but watch out if you use a Living Social voucher to eat there. The waitress, Ann, has a megaphone mouth that says so everyone can hear if you're there on a coupon. She already knew you were, because there is an envelope on the table telling about your free 3 month membership. Even though the place was about empty, you're put in the middle not near a window even if you request it. We don't like wine and wanted to substitute iced tea, but told we couldn't substitute. Maybe there's a shortage of iced tea in springfield because of the the Springfield Tea Party? Even if you don't get wine with your meal, she manages to throw the 9.00 charge in for 2 glasses of wine. If you like to go to an uppity place and pay an arm and a leg, this is the place for you. All in all, with our our $61 voucher, it was still $23 out of pocket not including tip. Make sure if you get the $17.95 Tuesday night special, they make it into a 3 course meal, which she won't mention, and tells you your voucher is worth $61, so you think you can get a couple of appetizers to make your $61.....wrong. She did that to another family we know too.

My wife and I purchased a half-price deal for Sunday brunch at this exclusive club; open to the public on Sundays for brunch. We had to make a reservation weeks in advance in order to get in. Making the reservation was kind of a pain because I had to call and leave a voicemail on the reservation system and several days later somebody called me back to set a time and day. We got to the restaurant a few minutes before our 11 o'clock reservation and we were the first patrons to the restaurant. It did fill up rather quickly though. I would describe the Decour as 1980s elegant. There was plenty of brass everywhere, including the bathroom where the sinks were even made of brass. In addition to way too much brass, there were way too many mirrors. Every column of the super tall room were lined with amber tinted mirror. Even the glass separating different rooms were amber tinted. The carpets and the tables in the restaurant were at least as old as the brass and glass. The waitstaff was perfect. They seem to all be in their 20s or early 30s and super polite. The food was very good, and above mediocre; though not what you would expect at an exclusive club. They had the usual breakfast items like biscuits and gravy and fruits, and they also had some really delicious breakfast enchiladas. There were pastas, and plenty of meats. The desserts were actually rather delicious. I would like to have seen an omelette bar, or maybe some eggs Benedict. I certainly missed out on smoked salmon which accompanies most every Sunday brunch, but not this one. The meal was not worth the $18 per person, with drinks extra. It was, however, worth it because we had a half-price deal.

We decided to terminate our Tower Club membership. Over the years, we have seen the quality of the food, atmosphere, and the first-class treatment of members rapidly decline. It was once a great place to dine with family and friends, but not anymore as a member. Don't bother with buying a membership to the Tower Club, there is nothing really exclusive about this establishment. There are many dining options in Springfield that have more swank and panache that rival eateries in St. Louis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, etc. Plus, there are many opportunities for the public to dine at the Tower Club as non-members. If your heart is set on purchasing a Tower Club membership, negotiate with them. The club is not worth what they're asking.

Went for our company Christmas party for brunch. Service was great and we definitely felt well-attended to. Adequate selection for brunch, food was good as were drinks. Price super reasonable. The view cannot get any better in Springfield; however, it was an overcast afternoon when we were there. All in all a great place for brunch in Springfield.

Something must have happened between 2011 and now based on the ratings. I agree with many of the posters who say this place lacks character and lacks decent food. I've had lunch and dinner here by invitation and lunch was barely better than dinner. Everything is run of the mill, barely above frozen food quality. Dinner had me thinking I'd accidentally ordered from a cafeteria and not one of the most expensive places in town. Bland, generic, boring. Desert is the only redeeming quality and I don't even like deserts that much. They're pretty good, but not worth everything else unless you know the desert menu well enough to have a craving. Ambiance is definitely outdated by a couple of decades. And the servers, while they try their best, just don't have much to work with to begin with. Sure, the view is nice but come on folks, it's still a small town. There's only so much to see. There are so many great places to eat that have established themselves here within the last 10 years with great ambiance and tasty food. Go have a few--or several--fantastic meals with the money you would have spent here.

I have attended many events at the Tower Club over the years and have always been less than impressed with their '80's style decor, and atmosphere in general. But this month I attended a wedding and experienced the worst service I have ever experienced anywhere. We arrived at the event, and servers were scurrying about, to do napkin folds at our tables while moving around guests as if they were somehow in the way or inconvenient. It was blatantly apparent that they had not prepared at all for this wedding. In the rush to get table settings out, iced tea was slammed on our table and spilled on several of the guests, while candles were being lit last minute and servers were asking guests if "they smoked" and "carried cigarette lighters," as they didn't have a way of lighting candles. The bar was atrocious and they served beer and wine from pitchers (with ice in them). When beer was poured, it was poured into red solo cups and was half foam. I am disgusted by the level of service, or shall I say, lack thereof. I, thankfully was only a guest at this wedding, but would deter any bride from hosting an event at this space. There are a myriad of options, that may not have been available in the '80's during the Tower Club's prime, but are certainly classier with better customer service in the era of today.

General Chicken, just the right amount of heat! Just love this place, the waiters and the manager! All very personable.

We began calling today about 2:00pm for a dinner reservation for tonight. The automated message said to leave a voice mail and someone would call us back to confirm our reservation. We ended calling 3 times, with no return call. We decided to show up at 7:30pm to see if they received our name and time. They never checked the voice mails but said they could find a table for us. We had unbelievably horrible service. This was a Saturday night, so you would think it would be excellent service. However, my husband had to walk up to the bar to get his tea refilled. They never brought us bread, until we finally asked if they would. Then, no butter. We had to ask for butter. They neglected to check on us the whole time. For these prices ($20+ per plate), the experience was horrible because of the service! We won't be going back.

I've been here a few times, mostly for after parties for the Springfield Symphony, though I did have a full dinner once for a marketing class. The food has always been excellent; the service at the bar has been friendly, but a little slow. I've had a chance to experience all of the Tower Club rooms, and it does provide a sparkling view of the Springfield, especially at night. Parking has always been easy enough -- seems like nobody thinks to park on the west side of the building. To be honest, it is a bit outdated, but nothing that makes me gag. I've always thought for a skyscraper, the building is ugly -- but there's nothing they can do about that now. If you're looking at this place for a reception, there are probably better values out there. I enjoy coming here when I'm invited out, but it is overrated.

Please do not get me wrong, the views of the city at night are fantastic. However, when I visited for a private event, the food was very unimpressive. The shrimp was overcooked and the beef was pulverized. The servers were nice, but felt inexperienced and rushed the service. The decor is dated. Could use a refresh.

I attended a rehearsal dinner here and I was very pleasantly surprised. Walking in, the place looks a tiny bit dated, but is clean and has amazing views of the city. We had a cash bar, and the prices were not unreasonable. The server was friendly, but had self admittedly had a long day, so I will give him a break here. The views are amazing. As amazing as a view of Springfield can get, as the Tower is the largest building for miles. Contrary to other reviewers, I thought the food was amazing. Maybe it's because the bride and groom picked it out themselves, or maybe we just were there on a good night, but I was famished and left there feeling satisfied. We had chicken/pork over potatoes, with some veggies and a salad before our meal. Our meat was tender and the sauce they used was very good. They also had some delicious rolls that I scarfed down without hesitation. Our final treat was a cherry cheesecake, which was superb. I really don't have any complaints about this place!! Great views, excellent food, and friendly service. I don't think it is the best event space I've EVER been to, but I would gladly go back again.

Had a Business dinner in a private dining room. Food was good not great but good, I had the 14oz Strip 49.00 the place seemed a bit worn and not the jewel it once was. The staff was pleasant but looked bored and unenthusiastic. In the day this place was the place to go but now appeared to be on the decline without some changes.

Dinning at the top of the tower is quite an experience, day or night the views are as good as the food, service is is top quality. We have had business meetings, Christmas parties and romantic dinners there.

Fine dinning done right. Love this place for business meetings or for taking my wife to top of the town. They set the ambiance up so perfectly with the pianist playing softly, the candle light, great food. Not to mention the staff will go to the ends of the earth to make your evening or business meeting perfect.

So the Wife and I took my parents to the Tower Club today for a nice Easter Brunch, and it was a first time visit for most of us. My expectations were high since this is an exclusive venue. Frankly, I was a little disappointed. We came to the second session that started at 1, and when we showed up it looked like they were nowhere near ready. The place was a mess. The floors were dirty, and and most of the tables were not set. we waited about 5 minutes for our table (not a big deal), but by then there was a large queue of folks behind us. When we were finally escorted to our table on the East side of the the dining room our hostess was informed that that particular table number was on the other side of the dining room (did they change to table numbers between sessions?). Ok, no problem. We'll just enjoy the view as we tour the entire floor. Once we get seated, we order our drinks and make our way to the buffet. I was really disappointed to see that nothing was labeled, and this is a problem because some of us have food allergies and a lot of the things were not easy to identify. I ended up trying just about everything they had and, again, I was disappointed. The carved ham was dry, the pork tenderloin (which we initially thought was a potato cake because if the way it was breaded and the fact it was with the mashed potatoes) was tough. The steak with crab meat on it was cooked 'well done' which means it was dry and tough. Ok, enough with the negative. Lets talk about what was good. The deviled eggs were fantastic. I was not the only one to think so, because they were gone in minutes...which again disappointed me because I wanted more! Positive thoughts... The dessert was also very good. I had peaches and cream and shared a slice of key lime pie. Both were fantastic. The coffee was also good... And the view was nice. The service was unremarkable. Not bad, but not great. Overall, the quality of the food and its presentation was poor. Given how much we paid for this meal I am completely disappointed. The quality of food today could have been outmatched at Shoney's. I'm not kidding. If my membership was not complimentary, I would have cancelled it before we left. I'm going to go back when they are not having a buffet and will give another assessment then. For now, two stars (barely) because I have definitely experienced better, and I expect more from a place like this.

We went here for a Rehearsal Dinner for a friend's wedding in Springfield. There wasn't a whole lot of character to differentiate this place as far as decor but the view was great! We were there after dark, so our dining view was beautful and felt much more cosmopolitan than you would normally feel for Springfield. Food was good and the chef very accomodating for friend with a cherry allergy, even coming out of the kitchen to offer her something else for dessert. The room we were in was a little cramped but there were other options if you needed a bit more space. Cherry cheescake was AMAZING for dessert. All in all, not a bad venue for a special occasion in Springfield.

Service here is HORRIBLE. You can actually get better and more attentive service from a 3 dollar day time syphilitic hooker with scabs.Sherry brought out our salad and didn't even ask if we wanted soup or saalad. What about people with nut allergies (there were walnuts on our salads). This is quite possibly the WORST service I have encountered in years. Sherry was our waitress and if you ever go I would suggest you ask for someone who is more concerned with your needs...like say a father who went out for a pack of smokes 24 years ago and has just been really slow in coming home. Maybe he got lost........ Pappa? Pappa? I miss you Pappa. When she first came out to our table we asked if we could move closer to the window because it was such a lovely night. She stated they were all reserved. That was funny because there were no placements on the tables and when we left at 9:00 there was still no one sitting in them and the restaurant closes at 10:00 so unless people has reservations at 9:30 until 10:00 then that means that Sherry was a lier who doesn't even deserve the $1.50 tip I left her. I may be a little bitter. We ordered the chef trio as we had a Living Social coupon which granted us 3 months of free membership and we wanted to try the widest sample possible so we knew what we would like on our return. The beef is tender and tasty,it was a really great cut lucky for us would take a monumental idiot to ruin. I'm sure McCormick loves the fact you are using their packets for your gravy. The airline breast is supposed to be served skin on and although mine was battered it was sans skin. It had a good flavor but it was a little dry. It had a citrus sauce on it that tasted exactly like sweet and sour sauce at any Chinese restaurant you have been at. The crab stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon was good but again it is a little hard to screw that up and even then the bacon was little underdone. The bing cherry barbecue sauce was a little heavy for this dish but it was tasty. The bed of wild rice and vegetables are best left for the wild animals to devour. The vegetables were over done and the rice was under done it was a bit too chewy. For desert we had the raspberry napolean was average at best. The raspberry flavor was good but the execution with the puff pastry was poorly done. The coconut tart had a thicker skin than your mother's gravy 2 days after thanksgiving. The crust was so thick that when we were trying to cut it a piece broke off and shot off the table. The decor screams early 80's brass railings and tacky brass mirrors. Seriously when we walked in I thought I was in a Mormon convention center. They could do wonders with a remodel, and turning down the lights a bit to create a more intimate atmosphere. I would definitely say with a few changes this place could be a good gastronomic eatery, All they would have to do is gut the level, fire the cooking staff, banish the server staff from country (I vote we send them to Canada. I don't trust those guys up there they have been too quiet for too long) and start over. I am not saying the GM is a tool because I never met him but judging by his decisions so far I am leaning toward the idea he is actually a wrench. Given the choice of going back here or getting my fingers slammed in a window while getting beat with a wiffleball bat wrapped in barbed wire, I would ask if the widow has a view. It's less painful than sitting through another dinner there.
