I find my self spending way too much money on this place! It is an addiction. Like nothing you've ever had before in Springfield. Try the Halle!

The best cheesesteak I have ever had. Their steaks are very customizable, so have it your way. Delicious! Seating is extremely limited, so be prepared to get it to go.

This tiny, tiny, blink-and-you'll-miss-it, "Gee-I-never-noticed-that-place-before" hole in the wall is a Springfield enigma. BUT, I came here last week for the first time and liked it. Like Whisler's, this one leads the ranks of greasy downtown dives, and it's totally been here the longest of them all. When my boyfriend and I went in sometime after 10, nobody else was dining in, which was convenient considering there are literally only three seats in the place. He ordered the Springfield philly, which was cashew chicken, green onions, and teriyaki sauce. Weird, but he loved it. After a while I made the decision to order something as well and decided to just go with the regular philly: roast beef, green peppers, onions, and cheese. No need to beat around the bush: it ruled. The veggies were chopped into miniature squares, which distributed them perfectly, and the entire thing quickly melted together to make one seriously solid philly cheese steak. Coming from a job where we made phillies on the daily (so I subsequently ate them on the daily), this is a good philly. Forget Jimmy John's - how could anyone suggest Jimmy John's instead of a local dive of at least decent caliber?! Silly people. We also ordered their home-made fries, which were good, especially for being home-made. I can't attest to much else - the atmosphere was very "don't give a f***" overall. Sometimes that works.

Tiny hole in the wall with great food. Meaty sandwiches and deep fried sides. I've tried several sandwiches, but I'm a sucker for the Philly and fried mushrooms. The fries are really good too, if ya don't mind skins. Canned sodas, only 4 stools, definitely a bit minimalistic, but especially great after a few beers. Expect to order for takeout. It's pretty cramped. Side note: it's covered in fliers and stuff. Try to find a face on one without a drawn-on mustache. And draw one!

Visited this place in November 2012 when I was in town for a conference. As others have described, this is a tiny "hole-in-the-wall" cheesesteak joint. But what it lacks in size, it makes up for in their sandwiches. I thoroughly enjoyed the cheesesteak I ordered here. Shooting the breeze with the owner, who was laid back and had a good sense of humor, was another plus. It was the type of place where, no matter how small, I wouldn't mind spending an extra minute squeezing in at the small table for a quick bite to eat.

I don't miss eating here when I am in the area, just a little hole in the wall place with great food. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing! We go here at least once a week. I suggest trying each sandwich.

This looks like a divey place, but it was actually pretty good. I had the Chicago Chicken, and enjoyed it. My hubby had the Chicago Chili Cheesesteak (only available this month), and man was that thing good. I highly reccomend it, if you go soon.

So so food; definitely not on par with a cheese steak you'd get in Philly or Chicago. I agree with another reviewer that the last thing I want to hear while trying to enjoy a meal is the hate-filled bile of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Not going back ever.

My favorite sandwich in Springfield. I have to get my fix anytime I'm in town. Love the Spicey, Chicken Philly, and Chicago Philly. Tip: Get the fries! Great stop for after bars as well.

I love the Philly Cheesesteak. Matt is great! Well worth the trip.

4 for the food and service. Good sandwich and great fries. Which they had the Whiz style cheese like you find in a real Philly, but definitely worth the stop.

Eh... It isn't horrible but even Jimmy John's is better! Plus, the dude at the counter was kinda cocky.

Philly cheesesteak is the best in town! The meat cooked perfectly with onion and bell pepper, and the cheese makes it 10 times better. Sometime we get the 'spicy' beef which is also really good. They have 2 locations; downtown and in the food for less shopping center. If you follow their Facebook they often have a special and the newly invented sandwiches.

I had a really good experience here. Lots of menu choices and cheese steak options. The service was prompt and cooked when I ordered it. I ordered the Spicy which came on a crunchy hot toasted hoagie, topped with beef, mozzarella, banana pepper, and nicely topped with oregano. The fries were also great, hand cut with skins still on and extra hot and crunchy. Would definitely come back to try out the "super secret menu".

Fries tasted like fish, tea like water. Sandwich was decent- bread great, meat ok (tiny bit dry), peppers and onions chopped way too tiny... Just ok:(. Service and atmosphere great:)
