A nice little place to stop in for some fairly decent drinks, some good, live music! Staff is super friendly, and professional. The crowd is diverse, so just about anyone should feel comfortable here at Cartoons. I haven't eaten there yet, but the food looks and smells fantastic! Only complaint I had was the barkeep didn't know how to make a Tom Collins. She was open enough to my advice and mixed the drink to my liking! It was perfect! Most bars won't provide that courtesy! She definitely addressed it and that is what customer service is about! Highly recommend Cartoons if your looking for a great, fun, inexpensive night out with friends!

The oysters are fresh and fantastic. Next time I'm in this part of the country I will DEFINITELY be back! People are soooo nice too. Lovely place.

Despite poor reviews, wife and I took a chance and hit the jackpot. Oysters were great, fish and chips were perfect, sweet potatoes fries were delicious, and service was super friendly. Ignore old previous comments, and try for yourself!

Wow, my girl friend and I had a bad experience here tonight. I have been here numerous times and it's always mediocre at best. The steaks are okay, usually cooked the way you want it but always bland. The hamburgers are always decent and fries are a standard seasoned fry from a food truck like US foods. However tonight we waited an hour for our food and our meals were cold. Service was terrible and we weren't taken care of at all. I'll stick with drinking the beer and eat somewhere else before I go next time. Definitely not worth the ten dollars. Not even worth five dollars.

Bad food. Ordered fish and chips and it was overcooked and felt like I was chewing a rubber band. My husbands philly cheese steak sandwich was awful too. Do not order food here. They also have expensive covers for the bands. Beer was pricey too but mainly disappointed at how bad the food was.

Best nachos in Springfield, plus their salsa is great! They also have some good drink specials... bring on the margaritas! :)

This isn't a good place to go for lunch. Unless maybe you order a beer, then they might treat you better. They do have a good lunch special. $7 meal that includes drink and tax. That being said, I won a $15 gift certificate from The Cave (classic rock station) and decided to check out this place thinking I could come back later to use the rest of the certificate. My food wasn't terrible but it's the way the waitress made me feel like an idiot gets them the two stars. When I was done eating, I gave the waitress the gift certificate and she walks off for 5 mins and then comes over to get my empty plate. I ask her if she can take the tip out of the certificate and she said no so I got out my debit card. She walks away again and eventually comes back over and just stares at me and asks me what I needed. I mentioned that I gave her my gift certificate and she said, "yeah, I know" and I noted that it was worth more than what I payed for my lunch. I told her that I still had money left on the certificate and asked if I could just get another one for the remaining amount. She said its a gift certificate, we can't do that. So I said, then I lose the rest? And she said yes. She could have told me beforehand or in a nicer way that I needed to spend all $15 or else I would lose it. I ended up just getting another meal to go to spend the rest of the certificate. But she acted like I should know that you have to use their gift certificates all at once. The guy next to me used a certificate as well and when he left she complained how he was trying to use it for a tip and it was ridiculous that people try and use only part of the certificate... She complained right in front of me about the same thing I was doing. The other waitress was on her computer at the bar doing something unrelated to work. Overall they were very unprofessional and rude. I'm not going back.

Great little local restaurant...reminds me a bit of Cheers, where you see the same people at the bar every time you stop in.. I don't have much experience with the back room where they play music, though...I sit up front and pay more attention to food! Cartoons is a nice little place with a pretty big menu (granted, a quarter of it is oyster related), and a comfortable environment. It's also nice in the wintertime when they have the fireplace going. Waitresses are young and cute...not really the brightest folks in the world, but they do a good job. Last couple times I went, I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and sweet potato fries, and split a dozen oysters. Haven't been disappointed yet! The sweet potato fries weren't coated in sugar and still had a great flavor, and my sandwich was pretty typical but still tasty. It's a nice place to go for a quick casual dinner if you don't mind eating in the dark with tables that are a little too close...but you'll leave happy!
