If you don't get sick the food is mediocre. Twice my wife has gotten food poisoning from Ho-Ho's and both times were from Chicken Fried Rice. Chicken looked old and chewy. All of my food was good but we will not be back

Used to visit this Chinese restaurant a lot when I was younger and I always remember it being so good. Regardless of all the negative reviews. I decided to try it again tonight with the bf and I wasn't impressed. I gave this place three stars because he ordered a Saint Paul sandwich and really liked it. On the other hand, I ordered vegetable fried rice with crab ragoon. The crab ragoon was great, the rice... Not so much. The rice was crowded with onions, seemed extremely oily- and greasy; so much that I couldn't finish a small order. Overall I wasn't happy with the quality of food and will not be returning anytime soon.

Ho-Ho is our go-to place for Chinese takeout, and has been for over ten years. The prices are good, the food is good, and they always have coupons and specials. I love the hot braised chicken, which comes in a good-sized portion with plenty of rice. The crab rangoon and egg rolls are awesome. The restaurant itself that is very small, with only a few tables and a take-out counter that is very busy. I probably would not eat there because of the size. The people are very nice and we will probably keep going there for another ten years!

This place actually made me not be lazy and write my first review. I love Chinese places and I never expect anything crazy good or bad. However, the general tsos chicken was horrible. Does not taste like any General tsos I've had. I would instantly describe the sauce as cooking oil, grease, and soy sauce. The fried rice was 50 percent onions, 50 percent rice. The egg rolls, meh. Also, it is the most expensive I've seen. $30 for two. Out of the 8-10 Chinese delivery places around here, my favorite by far is 88 China.

Today's the first time I ordered fried rice and spring rolls from this place. I could smell burnt oil in both and they tasted bad.

The food here is absolutely HORRIBLE! I give this place negative stars but I have to at least select one, so please ignore it. All I have to say is DISGUSTING!

I've been eating at Ho-Ho's for a long time, mainly at their old location on Droste. Great fried rice, beef and broccoli, and general tso's chicken. Ready fast and very tasty.

I'd leave zero stars if it were possible. I called to order fried rice before my drive back to Chicago. Special fried rice with no pork. Simple right? Obviously not. There was diced ham in the rice and when I called back they told me ham is not the same as pork. Huh?!?!?! Then they don't apologize but accuse me of not being clear. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!! I could've have an allergic reaction because of their ignorance. Unacceptable.

Stopped there on a cross country trip. They served us even though they had just closed, and the food was amazing and cheap! Try the beef lo mein or the sesame chicken. They even gave us a free order of egg rolls!

After ingesting the bland sesame chicken and Kung pao chicken I was immediately disappointed. I'm very easy to please when it comes to food however, this particular food made me sick immediately. Let's just say shortly after the meal I was attacked by the repercussions from the dinner. It wasn't pleasant to say the least. I was forced to take an immediate shower.

This is the perfect restaurant you want to order from for your mother-in-law's birthday if she's single and has an expensive insurance policy. We ordered an order of sweet and sour (hopefully it's) chicken and it was more effective than any laxatives available.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
