The kitchen is very slow to get the order out if you get anything that needs to go though the wok. They do have decent food if you are patient enough to wait for it. To be honest, I don't think it's worth an hour of waiting to get some lo mein. I was tricked into waiting the first 15-20 minutes, then again when the cashier told me it will be right out a couple more times. I should have asked for my money back and went else where, but I guess my judgement was clouded by the anger and hunger that got the better of me that night. I understand it's a small family business and there's only 2 cooks in the kitchen, but come on, judging by the number of customers waiting for their food you can afford to hire more help. Or maybe not. Either way, it's not my restaurant and I will just take my business else where next time.

Been here for carry out a few times. Staff seems to be easily overwhelmed when more than 5 people are here, but they always get everything done in a tasty and timely manner.

Ok, so there are mixed reviews on China Wok - Joplin. Yes, it can take a while to get your food as the husband and wife team in the kitchen are the only cooks. But, wait... Once you get your food, you should instantly forget the wait for the food is AWESOME! My family and I eat at Joplin's China Wok once per week. The food is consistent, fresh and delicious every single time. The checkout people are also very nice, especially the tall young guy. I always get the General Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Egg Fried Rice, Lo Mein, Fried Wontons and Eggrolls. We have also tried the Lemon Chicken and Cashew Chicken - ALL are OUTSTANDING! Try to come after busy meal times to get the best results as far as how long it takes to get your food. The more customers, the longer the wait and conversely, the fewer customers, the shorter the wait. Priced well and competitively. We moved to the area in the Summer of 2013. We tried just about every Chinese restaurant within a 50-mile radius of our home. It took over a year-and-a-half to come across China Wok and we now go nowhere else for our Chinese food fix. It is really THAT good! You should definitely give China Wok a try. It is the absolute BEST Chinese food in Joplin, MO, and I am VERY picky when it comes to Chinese food! The food is FIVE STARS. The Service is FIVE STARS. The Price is FOUR to FIVE STARS. The wait time is FOUR STARS. Overall rating = 4-1/2 STARS!

A great find on my trip to Missouri. Their set up is service set-up is in the middle of Panda Express-like and full fledged sit-down Chinese restaurant. Food is made to order and not pre-made, which I thought was pretty cool. I agree with the other reviewers. The services isn't fast-food Panda fast. You order what you want and the husband and wife duo in the back makes it piping hot. Personally, I would take made-to-order over pre-made saucey fried chicken any day. Speaking of chicken, their General chicken is is awesome! Their chicken is not overly breaded or buried deep in a cloud of fluff coating. Moist, crunchy nuggets of friend chicken goodness. It's so good. Crab rangoon, chicken friend rice, lo mien -- all made to order. That means if you don't want veggies in your noodles, you can say no noodles! Or extra spicy/extra garlic! Prices are affordable, too! The lunch combo which had fried rice, entree, and crab rangoon ran around $5.50! We don't have a place like this in Oregon, bummer for me! I recommend it if you are ever in Joplin!

Tip: Ask for a menu, it has tons more choices than the wall menu. My husband says their General Tso chicken is the best he's had in a very long time. I had the shrimp fried rice and it tasted very bland. So bland that I ate some of my hubby's chicken instead. The crab rangoon were sweet, just how I like them, and were the shape of a little pouch which was a nice change to see from the traditional folded over rangoon. All in all, it was ok.

China Wok is great! Best Chinese food in Joplin, imo. You can get a general chicken combo with all white meat chicken, that comes with fried rice and 3 crab rangoons for just $7 including tax! Everything is always hot and fresh and soooo good. Awesome general chicken and grab rangoons! They also have a drive thru window that makes picking up carry out orders really easy.

The food here is really good but the drive through can be very slow. They sometimes seem to not have enough staff working so service suffers during busy times. The food is always hot and fresh and they have very reasonable prices. I love their cashew chicken and egg drop soup.

This was our 2nd time here and I will NEVER go again! The first time we called our order in and when we got there the person had forgotten to turn it in to the kitchen. Irritating but the food was good so we thought we would give them a 2nd chance. I called in the order and was told it would be 25 minutes. We gave them 30 and waited and waited and waited. We waited a hour for 3 simple combo meals. I had requested all white meat but didn't get it. In addition to that the guy running the register had his shorts sagging so bad that they were below his butt. His shirt didn't even cover his butt. I spent almost 30 minutes trying to avoid seeing his brown and blue striped boxer briefs. Yuck!

I'm a fan. I eat here regularly. I haven't had a bad dish yet. The service is usually good but the staff can seem overwhelmed during te noon hour, during which getting your drink refilled can prove a little tricky. They could easily stand to hire additional help during peak times, but I am willing to tolerate the any delays because the combo prices are low. Adding help would only drive up the prices.

My fried rice was decent but the hot n sour soup was terrible. My plate had a small insect on the rim which I found unpleasant while eating. They charge 50 cents for chili oil which is a natural condiment among Chinese food which is a big minus , its like eating tacos and you have to pay for taco sauce. Maybe because I am Asian and expect Asian tradition way of serving food but isn't it Asian food ? Last the wait service was very good, the friendly waitress did a good job that I didn't have to get her attention.

Great place. The brown sauce on the broccoli chicken has a slight hint of ginger to give it a slight sweetness that balances out the soy taste beautifully. Food is always fresh and cooked to order.
