Loved it. Great local spot. We brought average age down 35 years. Awesome hash browns. Had mine with cheese onion and peppers. Kids had waffles and biscuits. All great. Incredibly nice service. Will go again when in KC.

Really wanted to like this place. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Really wish the biscuits and gravy were on par with the service. Biscuits were burnt corn meal (I thought was really odd to have corn meal biscuits instead of buttermilk) and the gravy was a glob of tasteless paste. Couldn't eat any of it. Staff was amazing but food was horrible. Gave two stars for the staff but will def not be returning.

First, be advised that this review is based on this restaurant being what it is and is not comparing this restaurant to more expensive restaurants. This is a simple restaurant open for breakfast & lunch only catering mostly to working folks & seniors needing a good meal at a fair price. I like the place and recommend it. However, they don't take credit cards so bring cash,

Rosie's. The food isn't so great (judging from a one time visit), but the service is friendly. They are welcoming and make you feel at home but why wouldn't they? It's grandmother Homestyle cooking and that's what you're going to get. Breakfast seems standard and under and you're either going to love it or hate it.

Would you believe that I initially thought this place was a flower shop? There's a big flower on the sign, and they have a bunch of plants by the entrance, so from the street it really did look like a place to buy a corsage. That being said, I was surprised to discover it was a diner. Along the same vein as Big Biscuit, they only are open until 2pm, catering to the breakfast, brunch, lunch crowd. Upon walking it, I felt like I stepped into an 80's country diner. A lot of the older crowd goes here, and you can see a lot of them holding court in a ginormous round table. Coffee cups come in all kinds of colors and designs (think yard sale hodge podge). The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Our glasses were never allowed to be empty, as they were prompt in refilling or replacing. The chicken friend steak has the perfect breading-meat ratio, and it is very well seasoned. The gravy is good. English muffins are cooked on a flat top for that extra crunch. The prices were very reasonable, the portions leave you more than full. It's a very charming place, and I would go back again.

This is home to the worst breakfast ever. I ordered biscuits & gravy and it was terrible. The biscuits were rock hard and the gravy tasted like it came from a premixed packet. I left hungry.

Best breakfast around and lots more food and for a lot less $$ then the chain breakfast places like first watch and big biscuit.

I had read all of the Yelp review before we decided on Rosie's. We are from Arkansas, so we were clueless about where to go for breakfast because we wanted to experience the local fare. (We can get IHOP at home.) We had to wait a few minutes for a table, but the staff welcomed us and made us feel like we were important to them. Once we were seated, our waitress was friendly and attentive. My husband ordered a basic two egg breakfast with sausage and I ordered their KC Chiefs omelette. I also ordered two biscuits with jelly. I am a diabetic, and like my coffee sweet, but the only choice for sweetener was the pink variety, so if you prefer blue or yellow, you might want to bring your own. The food was very good with one exception - the biscuits, which were HUGE, were possibly the worst biscuits I have ever had. Very dry and tasteless with a texture that was about as far from light and fluffy as you can get. Having said that, the rest of the food was worth the visit. The prices were reasonable, and our coffee cups were never empty. When we checked out, the woman at the register was very excited to hear that we'd chosen Rosie's because of the Yelp reviews and promised to tell Rosie herself, who she said would be just as excited. All in all, it was a good experience.

My family had a nice experience at Rosie's when we stopped in for breakfast the other day. I ordered a half waffle made with pecans and a side of bacon. It was really good and I'd gladly order it again some time. Others in our group of five had biscuits and gravy, eggs over easy with sausage and toast, a three egg omelet with sausage and cheese and a side of potatoes and basted eggs, sausage and hash-browns. So you can see we had quite a variety. Guess the food was all pretty good 'cause the plates got cleaned. We have been hearing about Rosie's from several friends and now that we've tried it we will be back. We were there on a Tuesday and it was nearly packed at 10 a.m. but the nice staff got us a booth with an extra chair set up almost right away. Even being so busy, the service was fast and friendly and coffee cups got filled when needed. I even ran into a couple of people I knew and was able to say to them "Well, we finally made it out to Rosie's. Thanks for the suggestion".
