Fabulous service. Good food. Our waitress went above & beyond. The food was good. A friend ordered the chicken piccata & instead of having the usual lighter lemon, butter sauce; it was more a cream sauce. Unexpected, but still good. I had the linguine con pesce. Huge portion, good sauce. Would have liked a little more than small shrimp & faux crab. But, still delicious. Highly recommend.

After attempting to try this place on 3 separate occasions, husband and I now know we should've left well enough alone. We were very disappointed. The service was fine, the idea of handmade Italian was promising but the taste left us unfulfilled. I don't like giving bad reviews but the best thing about my meal was the salad and sweet tea (and it was almost too sweet). Hubby says the best part of his meal was his Bud Light- wow.

For being an Italian restaurant, the pasta was horrendous! The fettuccine alfredo and tortellini were bland and the pasta con broccoli sauce seemed to be a mixture of a cream and tomato sauce which tasted like ketchup. And there wasn't even any parmesan on the table to give the dishes some flavor!

I have been there several times since the new owner has taken over and I am not liking the changes. The owner's husband keeps a table at the back of the restaurant for his personal use, the music is no longer playing, the service is slow, and the new owner is unfriendly and does not know the business. We ordered a bottle of wine with our meal, didn't drink it all so asked for it to be corked and wrapped--owner said it was against the law so we left a half open bottle of wine. She was WRONG-Check out Senate Bill #262 I will not be going back.

They have great pizza and the house dressing for their salad is nothing short of amazing. I have begged them to tell me how it's made; but they won't give up their secrets. The pasta dishes are on the dull side, but the staff and the pizza and salads are amazing.

First time trying this restaurant. Very good service and friendly staff. The house salad dressing is really good. Also the red sauce is tasty. We'll definitely go back.

After a somewhat disappointing experience at another pizza place the day before, I decided I needed to give North County another chance at giving me a good pizza lunch on a Friday afternoon. I hadn't heard so much about Fresh Italy, I guess considering they haven't been around for nearly as long as many of the other places in North County, so I figured I'd give them a try. Fresh Italy offers a small variety of other foods such as pastas, salads and even burgers, but I of course went there for the pizza. I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and sausage. Like many other places in the area, they offer St. Louis style. I did get an order of their homemade toasted ravioli as well because I had heard they were pretty good. I called in my order shortly after 11 and was told it would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. Florissant isn't really close to where I work, so it ended up taking me a full 20 minutes to get there. Upon walking in, there is a place for pick-up orders specifically, so I went there and paid. My order wasn't ready immediately and it took another 8 minutes, but that was fine with me. I tried the toasted ravioli to begin with and was pretty impressed! I think an order comes with 6 total and they're slightly larger than the typical ones most restaurants serve. The outsides were hand-breaded and crispy and the ravioli dough/bread that cased the meat was crisp and delicate. These things totally melt in your mouth! Unfortunately there was more bread than meat, but they were delicious nonetheless. The pizza was pretty tasty as well. The pepperoni and sausage were both delicious. The cheese may have been a blend, but it seems one of them was Provel, and it was of course delicious (to me). The sauce had a simple, good flavor and the whole thing was topped off with some grated parmesan cheese and herbs. The only thing that I can complain about for this pizza was the crust. It was pretty thin as St. Louis style should be, but it packed no crunch. It was almost a little translucent, gummy and was very floppy, though thankfully it didn't fall apart in my hands. I ended up having to eat each slice by rolling them up into little tubes or folding them in half. This wasn't a huge problem or anything, and the crust did taste good, but I really would've enjoyed it more if it were crispy. So how does Fresh Italy stand up compared to some of the more established names in North County (like Pirrone's, Faraci, et al.)? I think they do a pretty good job and their success is well deserved. I'm not sure if their pizzas usually have a crunchier crust and I just got one that was under-cooked or something, but I think if they fixed that, they would be pretty solid. I would totally eat here again, though it would be hard to choose to come here when there are so many St. Louis style pizza options in the area. If you live/work nearby, I'd recommend hitting them up.

We've been customers of this establishment for well over 20 years. The restaurant has changed hands a few times over the past couple of years and it hadn't been the same. But I have to tell Fresh Italy has ended up in the right owners hands now. While they have preserved the original recipes they have raised the bar on presentation and serving sizes. The place is spotless and the service is terrific. There baked pasta's are terrific. Plus their house salad dressing is simply great. Good food, good value, good service. That's a trifecta!

My 1st and only visit to Fresh Italy was Very disappointing to say the least...... I believe in paying for what I want and an authentic Italian pizza can be pricey and that's fine too. When I got my pizza to go I didn't check it (which is not normal for me) til I got home and realized all of the weight that I felt on my 2 topping pizza was just the pizza crust. It was the heaviest thin pizza crust I've ever experienced. I called & spoke to a manager, I told her I was disappointed in how little bacon was on the pizza seeing as thou I paid almost $20 for the pizza. On the drive back with the original pizza that they will replace I realize having my pizza remade is not a fair deal when the drive is 20mins away so when I expressed that the manager she called me a thief and began to sound VERY racist. There was no professionalism, when I asked why she said that to me she had no remorse, I did get my money back, I wouldn't eat that food now anyway not the way she was talking....... I guess I'll continue to get my pizza from Faraci's cause this Fresh Italy Sucks!!!! I gave it one star because when I went in to place my to go order the employees were nice........

Fresh Italy was great! My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. We didn't have to wait for a seat. The noise level was low, and the tables were pretty private. The service was prompt. We got toasted ravioli (which were huge!) and I can't remember what my boyfriend got, but we loved both of our dishes. They were both large servings! We also got bread with our meal which was good as well. The price wasn't bad either. We will return!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
