Found this little place traveling from Johnson shut ins to home. Decided to peruse yelp and see what was around. Possibly the best decision we made all weekend! It's a little place in a strip mall with a pool store. We made it before the church crowd so the wait wasn't too bad. All meals start with homemade yeasty dinner rolls and apple butter. Fresh fried chicken and hand rolled chicken and dumplings. Just amazing !!!! The homemade sides were obviously made today and in just the right proportion to the meal. The wait staff were stelar as well. Someone always willing to fill a glass or find a clean fork . Suggestions to the menu were spot on and of the 6 in our group no one went away hungry or even disappointed !

Good Ole Country style diner, clean. Friendly wait staff, attentive. Had the Chicken BLT, salad-delicious and filling. Fresh. Veg beef soup. Good food. Good ol diner desserts listed, pies and such.

The chicken here was just as good as it gets! Freshly made at the time you order, it came out piping hot and delicious. The sides that came with the dinner were nothing fancy. Portions of everything very generous. The waitress brought out a hot roll with apple butter while we waited for the chicken to cook. The rolls were a little on the doughy side, which is just like I like them. The apple butter was flavorful. I wish I had had room for s slice of pie at the end of the meal. The coconut cream pie they had displayed looked delish! Maybe on my next trip home to DeSoto...

First time here for breakfast. Good food, nice portions and friendly service. Nice cafe and it's not too far off Route 55. We will be back.

This place is a great place if you want good ol country cafe cookin' . they have great foods, their breakfast, lunch and dinner is the best around the area. They do also have great pies, they are big enough to feed an entire family! I would recommend them for lunch and breakfast!
