One of the nice things in Columbia is Jacks. The food is still great and the atmosphere is as up-scale as always. I like the menu because you can't miss, it is all good. The service is great and the ambiance is very nice.

Don't waste your time or money. The gourmet tag on the name doesn't represent anything true. The service is good as it should be for a restaurant with menu prices like this but the food is severely lacking. I've heard the catering from here is better but it's hard to believe that either. There are plenty of better places to eat in Columbia, if you're looking for similar cuisine try C C's City Broiler or Murry's.

Went here at the recommendation of the local hotel staff. It is definitely an old-school place but I liked it. Friendly and attentive service and my steak was great. Definitely worth trying if you want a local flavor. Don't let the area of town fool you.

Having worked there, I found their food safety practices to be below my personal standards and would not recommend eating there.

We went hoping for something different here in Columbia. It was different, but not in a pleasant way. We started with the "decontructed" crab rangoon appetizer. That was the highlight of the entire meal. It was tasty, came out hot and we did enjoy it. We should have stopped here. Next, we had soup-a french onion with croutons and sprinkled cheese. This was decent, and I rather liked not having the typical glob of cheese and bread on the top. The salads followed; much of the lettuce was wilted and soggy. We had barely started our salads when the entrees arrived. I ordered the seared ahi tuna: marinated in cilantro, garlic & honey; with fresh avocado, mango pico de gallo, Sriracha & sweet vinegar slaw, grilled tortilla. The avocado had an odd taste, the tuna marinade had no flavor the slaw had no hint of any of the described ingredients. My husband ordered the prime rib: Au Natural-Yorkshire Popover, 21 day aged and cooked to perfection. It looked like it had been COOKED 21 days. He ordered medium rare and the first time it came out well-done. The second time was closer to a medium-well, and he went ahead and took it. The meat was palatable, but unfortunately smothered in a VERY salty au Jus (instead of on the side!) The "popover" resembled a hockey puck made of bread. It was VERY dry, in no way freshly prepared and tasteless. We also had been interested in trying the table side Bananas Foster, but after everything else, we decided to just pay and leave. Our bill STILL ended up around $65-painful for such a meal. In the end, the food did NOT agree with my husband, and we will not be returning.
