The first reviewer was correct in saying that this is the best BBQ around, but she did not elaborate any further. The reason why this place has the best BBQ around is because it is the only BBQ place in Carthage! But despite this there is no slacking off here! I had the Ribs For Two and man it was so delicious. Was not able to eat it all so I took it home for some tasty left overs. It goes without saying that you are served a hearty helping. I have lived in Carthage for over a decade now and this place has seen half-a-dozen different food vendors. It is good to see that Boomer Sooner has their act together to make this a great corner stop to eat at.

Good service and tasty bbq. I have eaten here several times and had their catering. The catering is always amazing. The restaurant is a little less consistent, but usually great and everyone always has positive comments about their selection. Though last time I had pulled pork and it was served a bit cold in the middle, which I thought it was odd. I can't ever remember having cold bbq, almost seemed like it was improperly re-heated? I had a corn on the cob side and was disappointed that it was only half a cob and was also very soggy and not good at all. In spite of that one negative experience, the service is consistently good and friendly (you order at the counter but they deliver the meal to the table) and the restaurant is always clean and has decent ambiance for a semi-fast food type place. It used to be a fast food mexican place, so the southwest look of the place fits with the bbq as well. The owners are apparently really into Oklahoma football, which I think is strange but not particularly unusual in SWMO for whatever reason. The meals are priced including a fountain drink and though you can order a la carte without a drink, there are no savings to be had (.10 actually). Which is kind of a bummer for people who don't drink soda, and makes it a tad on the expensive side.

Went there recently with a buddy of mine. Had Two meat combo and it was excellent. Potato salad was just as good. Nothing fancy but doesn't matter if food is good. Quick during lunch as well.

Living is the south will somewhat spoil you with the BBQ. I wanted to scoff at this places attempt at Southern style BBQ but I suppose Missouri now being part of the SEC gives this place some what of a pass. I tried their brisket and pork and it was not half bad. Two different BBQ sauces to chose from. One standard sauce and one done spicy. It was indeed spicy but flavorful. The owners are Oklahoma fans which is a bit puzzling but the food was not hurt by this fact.

NEW LOCATION: 1123 W. Central Ave. (from Oak street location, go two blocks north and two blocks east). Still great, maybe better!

Pretty decent ribs that were unfortunately dried out. Although cooked well and tender, there was little moisture left. They tasted fine, lightly smoked, just needed some juice! I liked the pulled pork, which was complemented nicely by their sweet sauce.
