These guys seem like they have a lot of potential and they showed it today. I had a salad and it was pretty much an average salad, but the croutons seemed to be homemade. The steak. Oh the steak. You have not tasted a steak like this. Juicy, tender, tasty. Everything a steak should be. The tossed rolls were good. The green beans were decent. The service was good. This is a good place to eat if you catch on the right day.

I took my family, a total of 12 in all, to this restaurant for dinner a few days before Memorial Day. We were seated right away and the throwed rolls started. The grand kids had a blast catching the rolls, and our thrower even broke out in song for the entire restaurant. My wife and I had the catfish platter, and it was perfection. I did not hear anyone complain about their food, drink, or the atmosphere. One thing this old southerner would like to see added to the menu is fried okra, it would go great with the catfish.

My husband ordered a steak medium and half of it came out raw. Rolls were good but cold. Very disappointed. Will not return.

This place looked like a nice place for a larger group. The menu was good and there was plenty of space. However, it was not! Out of 16 people 3 of us NEVER got our meal. One prime rib meal was the worst ever. Two sandwiches were wrong...one person ordered a plain cheeseburger and got a plain hamburger and was told 'well you said plain'. Another asked for a hickory cheeseburger with no bun and got a hamburger patty on the plate (nothing on it). Wrong meals were not taken care of. Any side requests (for instance a side of ranch) was not written down....and totally forgotten. Most of the time out waiter ignored us but then eventually said that the kitchen can't handle large groups. Seriously! The place is huge. Open a diner if you can't handle a group.

Run as others have stated! Wish i had gotten on here prior to dining. Rude staff we felt like an inconvenience to them. The sweet potato was tiny, five bites -seriously. My husbands steak orser medium was all out well done grey inside, he couldnt eat it. Just not what the outside portrays!

Officially the worst meal I've ever paid to eat. Turn and run. First indication, gift shop on the way in. Salad bar was a bit meager and not delish. Worst fried onion ever, over salted and incredibly greasy. Powdered mashed potatoes. Powdered. And with no added seasoning. Doctor that junk up with some salt pepper maybe cream butter something!!! Ribs tasted of liquid smoke and steak was flavorless. Literally zero beef flavor. Run. Away. Seriously turn around and go. Please.

Mixed review on this place....Noisy, dirty, confusion at check-in, shrimp appetizer overcooked, pork chop dry and overcooked, green beans overcooked and mushy. Reminded me of bad school cafeteria food. Sweet old guy who tosses rolls was mildly entertaining- but he did toss two rolls at once from 30 ft away- i caught one but the other hit in the middle of our table- whew!! Nearly spilled some of our drinks! On the plus side- others in our group did enjoy their food. Wife had catfish and boys had burger and ribs. The chocolate cake my son ordered was very rich- recommend that for those who have a chocolate addiction. I tried the IPA beer and it was excellent. Bill was $100 for two apps, 4 meals + one beer and one glass of wine. Reasonable i think. If the cook could just watch the cook times a little closer on some entrees and a little more attention to cleanliness...

The food was really good, I got the catfish. The only downside is it's really expensive when you have a big family. It's also very loud so be prepared to yell to be heard.

we went here to eat during my trip to branson in 2013. the catfish was the star of the show and if you were born during the times of the memorabilia that they have, then you appreciate looking at their collection. the tossing of the rolls confused me, because I thought Lambert's cafe was the only place known for doing this, but this place tosses them too...that part really didn't impress me, but the rolls were ok. overall, I wasn't impressed and with all that branson has to offer as far as eateries...I won't be back.

Great atmosphere and service, the ribs and catfish were really good, the steak on the other hand could've been better. Imo food is good, with exception of steak

The brisket was "AWFUL. AWFUL!" Is what my mother in law said. My sirloin tips were decent. Rolls were awsome. And service were good. Will not be back. Sorry but i feel if i come back to Branson I will skip this resteraunt

Worst steak soup ever. It appeared they used Veg-all vegetables from a can and fatty meat. My bowl had 3 pcs of meat. Broth tasted like broth off pinto beans. Rolls are tossed to you, but don't look, feel, or taste homemade. Imitation butter is offered on the tables. Absolutely NOT impressed and will not go back. Luckily, we also ordered baked potatoes. Hard to ruin those.

  • Larz R.

My wife and I got excellent service! I wish I could remember his name, but the guy was attentive and personable. My steak was mighty tender, but could've used more seasoning. She had the catfish and enjoyed it. She said her drink tasted like it had barely any alcohol in it. My baked potato was wonderful. The prices are a bit high for what you get here. Meals comparable to the two we had together could've been $10 cheaper elsewhere. Be prepared for some guy with a camera to come around to take your picture and try to sell it to you for $15. That was the one big annoyance.

We went for lunch and it was not crowded. The thrown rolls were good and the grands enjoyed catching them! The appetizers were good too. We had onion blossom and cheese fries - both were tasty. The entrees we had, however, were disappointing. The southern fried chicken special was not good. The steak was tough. On the other hand, we went here for supper a few months ago and had a good supper. That's why we went back. Sorry I don't remember what we had that evening.

Service was excellent, prime rib was delicious. Dinging a couple of stars for the use of boxed mashed potatoes and gravy, canned Alfredo sauce, and factory desserts. Tossed rolls are poor imitation of the gimmick invented by lambert's, and the rolls aren't nearly as good, and no real butter to out on them.

Great family atmosphere!! And they DO throw the rolls at you which was a hit with the kids! Good food. The nachos are great!

Admittedly, we got there late, but the place was still really busy. The hostess ignored us for a few minutes, then passed us off to someone else to be seated. Our waitress seemed pleasant enough, but as time went on didn't seem to pay attention. Apparently she was in a hurry to leave. We were supposed to get a free appetizer because of the Branson Guest card. When we received our bill the charge was still showing and she had to take it back for an adjustment. It took two request to get a to go box. The restaurant has an eclectic Cracker Barrel-ish decoration & it was interesting to see. But the food was bland, overpriced, and service was less than desirable, We won't be back.

Great fun and food! They do throw the rolls! The wait staff was very pleasant and prompt. Lots of items on the menu. We had catfish which was excellent, chicken fried steak, Alfredo, and chicken tenders. Don't let a long line in scare you. There's plenty of room inside and they seat you quickly. The average price of a meal is $14. We always get water so we save that expense. Highly recommend Oh and go during the weekend to see Rudy! We love him. Sad we couldn't see him this time.

Great food and service. We had a group of 9 and they did a great job taking care of us. The catfish and cheeseburgers were great. Definitely recommend it.

We ate at this restaurant last night. Three of us had the chicken strip dinners with baked sweet potatoes, green beans and salads. One had grilled pork chops with a baked potato, green beans, and salad. They throw the hot rolls to you which is fun. The green beans, rolls and salads were excellent. One got a rotten sweet potato which was really nasty. The chicken strips were over breaded and extremely salty. Pork chop was also over seasoned. Asked the waitress twice for extra napkins and a knife. Never received either.

Very friendly server that was very informative on what to do in Branson. Felt bad not being able finish my meal, but the serving were made so you do not leave full. Ate to many rolls that my son asking to be thrown to the table. Great for family outings. Enjoyed it.

Rib eye steak was huge and cooked just as ordered. Catfish fillets are huge and all white meat yummy. Rudy the bun Slinger was really fun, very personable and a great thrower of rolls. Bread was yummy and always plentiful. Merrie was our waitress and even at 10pm was still on her toes and an awesome waitress. Heard from another diner their waitress was Ashley and she served them awesomely as well. Good job ladies!

Food was good and portions were huge! We had great service by our waiter and the kids really enjoyed the rolls being tossed to them! We've visited here every time we've come to Branson!

I had some fantastic coconut shrimp here. I've never had it before so I decided to try something new and was delighted. I actually got the appetizers version without the sides because it had the same amount of shrimp and then I could skip the sides that I didn't like. I was still a little hungry afterwards because I skipped on sides but I was full enough to not be upset by it. The vegetable of the day when I was there was green beans, which I cannot stand, but that's a personal preference. However, all the rest of the sides are basically different forms of potatoes. Baked potato, loaded baked, mashed potato, french fries, etc. Absolutely zero variety there. Salad bar was only $2.99 because it doesn't really offer up much variety either. Also the steak soup was just ok. The tossed rolls thing was pretty neat and I think was the reason our group actually chose to stop there. Hubby was tempted by their offer to listen to a time share sales pitch for however long and be given $100 but I didn't want to risk it nor spend the time. Sounded like a trap to me and my instincts said no thanks. Summary: Overall it was a decent place but just not to my tastes. I loved the coconut shrimp that I got but I did not see anything else I would have liked to have gotten. The staff was very friendly and conversational. It was a nice place to stop and it was an experience we enjoyed on our trip.

Grandparents took us out to eat here and as soon as we walked in it was constant heckling. Service was poor. Then your heckled to take a picture then buy the picture. Up Charged for sharing a meal. Haven't made it to food but I'll tell whomever looks at this I won't be back.

We had the BBQ sandwich with the Cole Slaw side for lunch. The food was tasty and the waitress was friendly. I was a bit surprised at the interior decor as I thought the exterior of the building appeared quite nice. The decor is very touristy. The lunch was reasonably priced and the food tasty but not exceptional.

This place is a little ways off the main drag (turn south at the Titanic, it's a couple miles down) but worth the drive. Very casual, junk-on-the-walls type of decor. I had a catfish lunch special that was just divine. They come out of the kitchen at intervals with a big bowl of fresh rolls and throw 'em to you, a la Lambert's. It's touristy (they'll try to sell you a photo & make you pay in the gift shop with the t-shirts & stuff... but whaddayawant? It's Branson.)

Our hotel was not far from this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We got the lunch special and it was OK. I didn't finish my meal plus I shared with my son .Food was not the best. They do not offer a very big menu and no kids menu. I assumed this was a family place. The tossed rolls were OK and the service was very slow. I would have to say the drink prices are very high and that for a soda. This is not my favorite place to eat and I don't have plans on returning to this location to eat.

I really wanted to like this place but sadly it was a very unfortunate first meal in town. However I will say those that ordered the catfish in our party did enjoy it, sadly I was not one of them. For everyone else the food was mediocre at best. I had the ribs which were tough and cold. Half the food that came out was cold. Someone had to have a steak recooked and it didn't come back out till everyone else was already done. At least the service was friendly.

I stopped here with my husband and his parents while on vacation. My husband really likes Catfish and wanted to try it. I have to say that I was not impressed at all. Everyone seemed to be in a really grumpy and down mood starting with the host and carrying on to our server. It seemed like we were inconveniencing them by being there. And we stopped in the middle of the day. The server took forever getting to our table, took our drink order quickly, and then just rushed off even though we had waited so long we were ready to order. They were not even that busy. Maybe 10 tables in the whole place. The advertise all the bread you can catch and eat. Well it took forever for them to even get any out to us. And then it was only one piece. Then about 10 mins later they came around with one more piece. Although that was enough for me, my husband and father in-law could have eaten more. It seems that if you are going to advertise the bread that way, you should be more efficient at getting it cooked and out to your guest. I can't even imagine what it would be like if they were actually busy. Soon after, about 20 mins after we ordered and got 2 pieces of bread, our food came. They were all good potion sizes and tasted great. I have nothing to complain about as far as the food goes. It was just a sad experience. My family was in such a great and chipper mood going into lunch and everybody's moods seemed to fall after going to this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone :/

Filling is the best I can say about this place. The coffee was tepid & tasted like the grounds had been used more than once. I had the sirloin tips because everything was very pricey, and they were tough and tasteless as well as greasy. However, my husband liked his meal of trout and mashed potatoes. The place was dirty as well.

  • Lab L.

A decent priced lunch. That's the only good thing I can say about this place. Forget any comparison to Lambert's for the rolls. I think their baker was off that day because the rolls seemed like something you get on the Day Old rack at the grocery store. They were only offered when we first sat down and we never saw the rolls again. (BTW there were only 4 tables dining for a late lunch during off season) We had the Catfish Lunch special. It was an OK meal for the price. The cole slaw side at $1.99 was disappointing. The $7.99 coupon for lunch would be hard to use considering they don't price anything at $7.99. We did use the coupon for the 1/2 price onion. It was late in coming out and our meal came out shortly afterwards. This means most of the onion will get cold. The photo thing was very odd! We thought it was to post to facebook so you can tag yourself on vacation and give them a little advertising. Nope. $10 photo in a touristy frame. Be prepared for the Time Share salesman as you leave too.

Excellent service, steaks were overcooked but server happily made it right! Atmosphere was awesome!

  • Karen R.

We were quite disappointed to wait over 30 minutes for our table (when we had made a reservation) to see multiple empty tables. The service is ok and the food is average. Hands down the best part were the rolls. Not only does a cool guy names Rudy throw them at you they are super delicious. It's a tourist trap for sure.

    (2)
  • David G.

Rolls were great. Catfish was good. Potato skins were horrible. Basically a potato cut in half, deep fried with cheese on it. Server was nice but it was incredibly slow. Not really busy either.

  • Michelle G.

By far the worst meal we had in Branson. A COMPLETE TOURIST TRAP. If you have to walk through a gift shop to get to the restaurant, it's a sign to leave. This place has burned down twice. This was our first visit to the latest incarnation. It's basically a giant, loud, crowded cafeteria, complete with cattle. Terrible food. Cobbler was like soup. Want a throwed roll? Not sure why you would, but good luck getting one. Each time they come out of the oven, they run out less than halfway through the restaurant.

    (1)
  • Kevin Y.

This place isn't bad. Their foods pretty good and at a good price. They toss their freshly baked rolls to the customers, and one of those "tossers" sings if you ask. Other than Lamberts, this is only other restaurant that tosses food. This place is worth giving a shot.

    (4)
  • Cris W.

A tad pricey for catfish, but the food was great. If you're super hungry and thinking about ordering all-you-can-eat, forget it. Just get the 2-fillet plate. The fillets are HUGE. Biggest I've ever seen - and I'm a MS boy. Seriously, the fillets were almost a foot long. Had to be a 3 - 4 lb catfish. I shall return.

  • Debi B.

Tourist TRAP!!!!!! I don't know what I found most appalling: the timeshare salesperson who accosts you at the door; the forced "photo op" with a $10 price tag; the virtually non-existent service; or the (oddly enough) both undercooked or overcooked, under-seasoned cafeteria food. Once in the door you will be shown to your table in a kitschy dining room where you will be held hostage for the next 1.5 hours (if you're lucky to escape that soon). Within 20 minutes someone (who will not be seen again for another 20 minutes) takes your drink order. Eventually you will receive your food -- which might have been the low point if not for the pushy woman who insisted on taking a photo. We thought photo might be for a social media page. Nope. It was taken as a souvenir to (presumably) mark the momentous occasion of the food finally arriving. Ah, the food. The steak (ordered medium) was practically raw and so full of gristle to render it inedible. The catfish came with a quarter inch crispy cardboard coating surrounding an almost raw sliver of catfish (also inedible). And, the brisket consisted of a few pieces of dry meat floating in a soup of sweet BBQ sauce. If you're in Branson, you will want to avoid this place at all costs.

As someone who has actually been to "Lambert's" in Sikeston MO, this place also calls themselves the Home of the Tossed Roll which is a joke. This is a Straight up TOURIST TRAP with mediocre food and the rolls were not even that good. Will not go back.

Service was friendly.. Filet and prime rib were tasty. Canned beans not my style of veggies. Rolls were hot and delish! Would try again...

Don't waste your time!!!!!! If you get seated on the second floor..forget the throwed rolls..the guy didnt want to come upstairs. We waited a LONG time for food to finally arrive cold. Was sent back and they microwaved my trout to rubber!! Canned green beans and onions with tough skin, instant mashed potatoes that were like water. YUKKO Sorry...doesnt hold a candle to Lamberts!! This place really doesnt care about the every day diner, but wants the bus tour groups. Stay clear!!

  • Cary B.

This restaurant is lucky that I had to give them at least one star because if I had my way, this restaurant doesn't even deserve a star! Went to this restaurant while on vacation, what a waste of time! Waited 2 hours for 4 sandwiches that came to us cold. You are paying for the entertainment of watching the waiters throw rolls across the restaurant. The catfish sandwich only comes with one fillet!

    (1)
  • Matthew M.

The food was just kind of blah. I had the chicken tenders and my wife had a sandwich. The staff was nice and place was reasonably clean. For me there are plenty of other places in Branson to try before I'd every go back.

  • T S.

Smoked Prime Rib was cooked as ordered, but very lean and therefore tough. The fries had either been through the fryer more than once or under a heat source for so long they were in a very sorry state. The free app was nice - potato skins, which were probably the best thing we ate. The hot rolls were good, so if you want to fill up on bread you're in good shape. Wish we would have tried the catfish. A couple of other things merit a mention: someone will approach your table and offer to take your picture and then you can buy it for 10 or 12 bucks (don't remember which). Kind of an annoyance honestly. Timeshare huckster near the front door. Another annoyance. The other thing ... when you get your bill you will notice that sales tax in Branson is insanely high, but in addition this restaurant takes it upon themselves to add an EXTRA 2% onto your bill for "community development", which is basically a charitable fund that the restaurant owner is funding through this scheme and then distributes at their discretion to whatever charities they deem deserving. Now I don't have a problem if someone asks me, but when you just put it on my bill and nobody mentions it, that seems like a pretty shady fundraiser to me. We actually asked our server what this charge was, and THEN it was explained and offered to be removed from the bill. I wonder how many people even look closely enough to notice ? But that is the point isn't it ? So you are somehow upstanding enough to "fund raise" for charity, but borderline dishonest (i,e, sneaky) in how you do it ? Actually I think if this practice was challenged it would be deemed illegal. As it is, it is at least bad form. Will not recommend or visit this establishment again.

My wife and stopped in for their lunch special and I don't know how the cook repaired the fried catfish but it was some of the best I've ever had. We are going back in about two weeks and will go the main dinner time and check it out then. If it was like lunch you can' go wrong

    (3)
  • Crystal G.

The 3-star is for the service. The waitress was nice. The bbq nachos were good. I agree with the other viewer - it is no comparison to Lambert's. But this experience was better than that other big cafeteria seating style restaurant - McFarlain's.
