I am not sure if we came on a bad night or what, but our experience here was not that great. One, they advertise a Tuesday night half price special. But when you got there this particular establishment didn't. Why, if your a chain restaurant? Then the server was short and hurried us. He was near the end of his shift. We ordered the all you can eat pasta with salad. The salad was wilted. The pasta was the only thing good. The bread was decent. Upon check out, they say we offer a military discount. But only if your active duty....retired doesn't count. That's a huge turn off!

Waited for 15 min. No one even took a drink ordern we left and went to texas road house. This is the second time this has happened. 4 servers passed us up. At least texas road house comes with great service as well as good food.

Went to Pasta house for the first time last night. I like the location and I even like the atmosphere of this place. My Chianti was delicious and my daughter got the lambrusco and liked it a lot (too sweet for me)....our meatball appetizer was okay and we ordered the side salads --pasta con broccoli, and some type of penne romo..overall---I was hoping the entire time for more flavor...more flavor...more flavor....I thought all the food was just very bland....How do you make Italian food bland? they have such wonderful seasonings to work with....I was expecting stronger and more pungent flavors of cheese and spice...My server was awesome and she did a fantastic job.

Better than Olive Garden, not as good as Rich & Charlie's. The service is always above average. The salad is strong. At this particular location, the parking lot is easy to access but the outside of the restaurant makes it difficult to know if they are open. There are either no windows to the world or they are so dark the shop looks closed. The hostess was cheerful and inviting. The restaurant looked to be clean and free of unbussed table. I ordered a large salad and chicken parmigiano sandwich. The sandwich came with a choice of side, went with the cavatelli. Everything looked fine and smelled great. I though the pasta was a little bland, typical side pasta though, nothing terrible. The sandwich was also fine. Nothing to write home about or complain either. I would have preferred less sauce and more cheese. The bread would be better served toasted. They seem to be extremely accomadating, if I would have requested toasted bread, I'm sure that would have been done. The salad was the star. I am not a typcial salad eater. More of a meat person. This was a huge salad and full of good stuff. Hard to write about a salad at a fast casual Italian restaurant but... Good place for the neighborhood. At least its not Olive Garden.

I really need to update my review as I have had a pretty bad experience at this restaurant. As an fyi, Brandi tried her best, but nothing could solve this experience. So lets delve right into things. This restaurant claimed that Mom's dine in free with a spaghetti dinner and a free cheesecake. So we went ahead and tried our luck. We walked in and I tried putting my name down for a table. It was just the two of us, mind you. The blonde lady behind the desk skipped right over me and took the names of the elderly couple behind us. I let her know that she completely skipped over me and she promptly got us seated as I was not very happy. So, we waited for our server for about 5 minutes and in come an exasperated Brandi. She is probably the most overworked server at this restaurant, toggling drinks and other stuff. I ordered the pasta con broccoli and my mom got the spaghetti platter. The salads were great, the biscuits were always great. However, in come our entrees. My pasta con broccoli was on the verge of a soupy swamp. It was, by far, the soupiest Alfredo pasta dish I have ever had. In a few words, I was gagging by the amount of watery soup. And happy mother's day to dear old Mum, she was only worth one meatball on top of her spaghetti platter. What plum ridiculousness. I also had their strawberry lemonade, which was just a plain lemonade with a strawberry syrup addition. Most restaurants have some kind of fruit or something to go along with the beverage. However, this lemonade was just plain old lemonade. Very uninspiring. During our meals we saw several busboys and waiters scrambling about. It was a very busy place to eat at. However, Randy, one of the waiters intended to throw away a crumpled napkin in the trash and somehow that dirty wad was thrown at our table. The only good part of the experience was the pecan caramel cheesecake that I ate at the end of the meal. However, the total bill was around $40 for the two of us. A bit expensive for such an awful experience. I don't think I will be coming back.

My family and I have eaten here and we thought it was great from the service ( Carrie was our waitress ) she is fantastic! Gave us some suggestions on places that we should go see and she was above and beyond as a waitress. Food was great a lot of flavor. I will tell anyone who wants Italian food to give this place a try

Today my dining companion was a petite brunette that I met for lunch. We both ordered the lunch salad and shared an order of toasted ravioli. The salad was very good, if just slightly over dressed for my taste. Still, it was cold and crisp and exactly what I expected. I would have to rate it improved over my recent visits. The rolls also were warm fresh and also rank improved. Of course, in both of these cases "improved" mean that they tasted as good as they have in the past and met expectations. The toasted ravioli were all beef and bread crumps. Thereby they were bland and dry and were in desperate need of the sweet marinara sauce. However, my dining companion seemed to enjoy them. Still, I will not order them again. I continue to enjoy The Pasta House and recommend the restaurant at this location to anyone looking Americanized Italian food.

My kids, mom and I came for dinner tonight. Our waiter was excellent. He had told my daughter how nice she was and not most kids say thank you and that it was nice to see her so polite! That made me feel good! He was very attentive, we really didn't have to ask him for anything except napkins. He recommended chicken flamingo (which I was thinking about just not that hungry) it was amazing! Loved it! All of our meals were great, even spinach artichoke dip! We all had a very good experience. My son usually has a drink empty forever seems like to him but not tonight! Our food was great and service was excellent which is somewhat hard to find these days! I feel that service makes the restaurant not just the food. You can have excellent food but your experience can be ruined by service. Thanks for being great! By the way our servers name was Ryan!

Awful service, although I think our server was new so I can cut him some slack. He was the best thing about our evening. It started off with the most watered down 7&7 I've ever had. They would not add extra sauce to my girlfriends dish, my food was awful and just bland as well. Of the other six people in our party only one person thought the food was ok. It was not until we were paying our bill and no one wanted their left overs that I looked around the room and noticed others leaving their half eaten plates as well. Sorry for the shortened version of my review I just wanted to give a heads up to you, then move on and never set foot in a pasta house again.

One of my favorites. Ive been to this location several times over the years and its always been consistantly delicious. Service is always good and reasonably quick . I love the hot spiniach and artichoke dip and the chicken flamingo is to die for along with the italian potatoes. No complaints here :)

I ate dinner here with my husband and in-laws tonight. The restaurant is casual and family friendly. There were several small children at surrounding tables. Our server seemed like she would rather be doing anything but waiting tables. She wasn't the friendliest girl and never smiled even once. I ordered one of their seasonal specials... a veggie lasagna, which came with a small salad. The lasagna was good, and large enough for me to take half of it home. It had layers of eggplant, zucchini, and shredded carrots between noodles and red sauce, and was topped with melted cheese. The salad, however, wasn't the same signature salad I usually enjoy. My favorite part of the salad here is the artichokes, but it seems that they have started to add less and less of them. Tonight, I had about 1/8 of a single artichoke in my entire bowl of salad that was swimming in dressing. I did not even finish half of it... very disappointing. My husband had a free birthday dinner, which included a plate of spaghetti and dessert of his choice. He enjoyed his pasta, but was told he would have to pay extra for the cheesecake dessert he wanted. He did that, but I feel their coupon is misleading and they should either list exclusions or list a selection of the desserts you can have instead of printing "dessert of your choice" and then having you pay extra for several of them. Whatever. My in-laws ordered a chicken flamingo entree and a bowl of linguini with clam sauce. Both seemed to enjoy their food. The Pasta House is convenient and close with decent food. For those reasons, we'll be back... and my fingers will be crossed that I might get an entire artichoke in my salad. ;-)

My overall impression of this place-meh. The decoration/atmosphere is horribly outdated. The service is hit or miss. I've had a nice waitress and I've had ones that won't smile. I like the rolls and the house salad is so-so. I order off the lunch menu the meatballs with pasta; it's ok, but could use more flavor. Is it so hard to add some oregano and garlic? For the price I don't really think it is worth it when there are so many other Italian restaurants out there.

I had called ahead and was impressed by the gentleman on the phone. We dined on the three course meal. The price was fair, but the food was average. The salad appeared to have been sitting in the cooler a while, as it was still crisp but well marinated. My husband's pasta had an okay amount of veggies but I felt mine ran short. Windows had an appearance that appeared dirty. Manager greeted us at the door but never came to table. My husband heard him discussing with the greeter that she needed to smile. Everyone was friendly, however. Overall, it was more like a fastfood experience with a server. Very little attention to details in food presentation or ambiance.

I've been here too many times to count, so obviously I can't say it's bad. I do think Pasta House has great Garlic Cheese Bread, Cannelloni, and Lasagna. These are usually the things I will order when I go. The salad isn't bad, but my wife really likes it. The fact is this place is very close to home so we don't mind coming here. The main negative about any Pasta House location is that they're more expensive than most of the places on The Hill, and only about half as good. For chain pasta, I probably prefer Olive Garden over Pasta House, but usually end up at Pasta House out of convenience.

Take an Imo's, add a few meat dishes, some crappy plastic tablecloths and indifferent service and viola! Pasta House! It's just so unnecessary with about 1000 other Italian restaurants in St. Louis. IWhen you walk in and look around, you know there is just no way you're going to have a great meal here. The ambiance is downright crippling. Cheap and dated sums it up nicely. Adding to the downward spiral, the young server was oddly neutral. I guess enthusiasm is frowned upon - don't want to spoil the drab look and feel of the place, I guess. After looking at the menu for a bit, I asked my wife what looked good. She just scrunched her face. I was also coming up blank. Even though they offer all the standard Italian fare, some of which we usually like, we just weren't reading these menu items and envisioning sometihng delicious. Prices were not especially cheap, either. Surprisingly, though, the food ended up being okay, probably worthy of three stars. The salads are still pretty good - same as they ever were, better than a lot of other places. I'd really love to be able to make it at home. We also tried a chicken dish and mac and cheese. The chicken was tender and had a nice charred taste - not bad. The mac and cheese was not bad either, but didn't appeal to our little one. The flavor was maybe too interesting. She kept saying it wasn't as good as the box kind. It is, trust me. All in all, this Pasta House only exists to bridge the gap between Denny's and Olive Garden.

This was our first and last time going to the Pasta House Co. The restaurant had a dirty, greasy feel to it. Our waiter was really nice but the food was not. The salad was swimming with dressing, the Fettuccine Alfredo tasted like it came from a jar. My kids had the pizza and they said it was good but it looked like any normal kids pizza. It was way overpriced, we had two adult meals and 2 kids meals that cost us $69. We could've went across the street to Texas Roadhouse and had two excellent steaks plus kids meals for that price. If you are in the mood for Italian, take the extra 15 mins to drive to Fenton to go to Olive Garden.

Some braniacs at the owners level must have agreed that the fresh parmigiana cheese was too expensive so now it is the crappy powdered stuff which they seem to use in all the dishes because everything just tastes different. I miss the sharp tangy quality to their salads and pastas. I used to love going here and now I am about done. I suggest they go back to the good stuff.

They are in too much of a hurry to get the food out and there is no quality control. My daughters eggplant parm. was undercooked and cold in middle, and her side of broccoli was still hard and flavorless, we hadnt even gotten 1/2 way thru the mushy salad so why hurry the food, let it cook! i ordered the cesar salad for a low carb option and it was flavorless! How can you mess up cesar? They keep trying to bring you overcooked rolls i guess to fill you up so you wont notice the taste. We have never even had lunch for less than 25 dollars here and dinner is always at least 45. Skip this place they are all about the money and there are better choices in st louis.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
