One of our family faves. Wether you're having your own creation done your way, or enjoying a chefs menu item it does not disappoint One of the easiest and best rewards programs as well. No need to download a coupon code or wonder what you get. I love my membership.

A very nice upscale bar and grill. Menu was OK. The building was very nice and roomy. They have a very good and pretty large (20 tables and bar) outside patio. Many of the tables have umbrellas. The staff was very nice and accommodating. 4 stars to them. I had the Buffalo wrap with fries and a Summit Hops IPA ( did not get the full name and can not find it on Summits web page) Wrap was fine but almost no heat. What you get in Minn, I guess. Fries were fine. Beer was good but our 20 mile bike trip may have helped. I have eaten here for lunch before and will again. Not bad but not great. Middle of the road.

Fish Tacos Cod Filets, Lightly Battered and Fried, served in Warm Flour Tortillas with Shredded Cabbage, Chili Lime Sour Cream, Citrus Salsa and Fresh Cilantro. Accompanied by Jasmine Rice with Pico de Gallo. - $12.00 Yes, I'm guilty... I crave Fish Tacos almost as much as I do BBQ. Therefore, if they're on the menu, there's a SOLID chance I'm trying them out. These, oh yeah, they're on par. For sure! The Cod was super moist and super flaky. The Cabbage, Cilantro and Pico also seemed to be divinely fresh. Throw in the Chili Lime Sour Cream (my favorite) and you've got a killer! It's ironic that a lot of my great food experiences happen in the Twin Cities! In regard to the atmosphere, this place is great. It's kinda' like an upscale lodge, if that makes any sense. They're right off the interstate, among plenty of hotels and professional office buildings and, the lunch rush is just that, a rush. If you're not early, good luck!

The build your own burger menu is a fantastic idea. It is easy to complete and makes orders fast and efficient for the workers. Great prices on foods. The build your own bloody marry goes absolutely perfect with the other build your own menus. A little classier place than most so don't skimp on the attire but don't feel you have to over dress either. It's a bit hard to get there with the parking lot connected to the hotel next door but when you find your way there you will not be disappointed.

This is a decent place to eat can be busy over the weekend . Very good burgers , pizza and desserts . I always enjoy it , service is also very friendly.

The service was great, very nice, and quick to refill our drinks. I didn't think the prices were out of the ordinary and the pizza was fabulous. The chicken sliders were very delish

Byo salad is my favorite, but everything I've tried from the menu has been good. Service is always great.

I am never coming back. The food was so bad that the manager came by to say sorry and discounted, that was the only good part about this restaurant experience.

This place gets four stars for its patio and build your own options! This is a lunch place go-to for my coworkers and I at 3M. It is not anything so amazing but the food is prepared fine and the service is consistently good.

The burgers are awweeesssome! Try the build-your-own with the garlic aioli. Bloody Marys are delicious and are basically a meal of their own with the mountain of toppings. Super cute back patio. Lots of big tables for groups.

Nice place and beautiful patio, but the staff and manager was a but clueless. It was the NFL season opener with the Vikings on Monday Night Football. They had several tv's with the game on, but the volume was muted on all of them, and instead they had music playing loudly. I asked them if they could turn up the volume for the game, but they wouldn't. Pretty much everyone there was watching the game, and others asked them to turn up the game volume, as well. Some young lady, who I assume was the manager, said the NFL did not allow them to have the volume on the TV's on, which is not true. The game was being broadcast on ESPN and the restaurant was not charging admission to watch the game, so there was no reason they could not have turned up the volume. I then suggested as an alternative that she just turn up the volume on one of the TV's or that they turn the radio broadcast of the game on their sound system, but she told me some nonsense about not being able to play the radio either. I left and went to another place down the street and they had the game broadcast playing throughout their sound system just like probably almost every other bar in the whole metro area.

If you are a club member the price is unbeatable. Huge beers for 3.75 makes the 20 bucks you spend to be a member worth it! You also get a percentage off your meals which seriously makes this the best price in town. The Bloody Mary's are amazing because it's a build your own. I've had a time or two where they have not worn gloves while adding the garnish so now I always ask if they made it with a glove and if not they will kindly make you a germ free one. Everything I have here is always so tasty, and the brunch is spectacular. Some of the serve staff has an attitude that should be left at the door when they come in but I still frequent here.

This place is great. I love the giant patio. The service is great. I love the seared tuna and I've had it five times now. i love the tucker rosemary fillet. It is awesome. The french dip rocks. i really liked the pomegranate mojito cocktail. The only thing is they need to have more beers to choose from instead of just the basics. The reuben was really good as well. I love the key lime pie and I think they have great options for food. I would recommend people check it out this summer and sit out on the patio. I also like the fact that you can get anything on the menu anytime of day. The only thing I don't like is the high noise level. It can get a little loud but otherwise it rocks!

Food and drink are great ! BUT, The Hostess had an attitude and needs better training on customer service skills.

yum, Yum, YUM!! Every single time I come I get the exact same thing. Why deviate when I've found something I LOVE!!!! I originally started with the cashew chicken salad, it comes served in a cut up pineapple with fruit galore scattered around the plate. On a different visit, a waitress introduced me to the build your own salads and she let me know I could add that same cashew chicken salad to mix as well! Okay, NEW FAVE! I HIGHLY recommend their BYO salads with cashew chicken salad, red onion, ranch on the side for flavor and craisins. So YUMMY! You can add other toppings as you like too, such a fun option!

Lots of great menu options. Their specialties are "Build your own" burgers, salads, pizza & Bloody Mary. My friend built her own Bloody Mary. Although I'm not a fan of the drink I did try it & it was tasty! I had the peach cilantro lemonade which was very good! I ate the yummy chicken basil sandwich. Perfection! My friend built her pizza & was happy! Portions are generous. Ryan our waiter was wonderful. Only complaint is we had to move indoors because the black flies on the outside patio were relentless!! Great place!!

Went on a Sunday for brunch. An omelet comes with the buffet but by the time our party's arrived everyone had already finished a plate from the buffet. I honestly forgot about it and was surprised when it was delivered. $3 mimosas are that cheap for a reason as I'm not sure there was any booze in it. Buffet was not impressive except for the bacon. Coffee sucked as well. Only reason it gets 3 stars is bc they accommodated our party of 20, the waitress wasn't bad and the patio is beautiful. Will not go back on my own free will.

We go to this place quite often, the food is really good and the place has a fun atmosphere. We've had several sandwiches, plenty of burgers, even more salads, and came for the valentines day dinner - we have never been disappointed. The patio is the best in Woodbury with a huge bar and plenty of tables, adding heaters when it gets chilly. After 2 trips we bought the members card and it's paid for itself tenfold. Discounts on the whole food bill and the beer. Our son loves to come here as well since the staff always talk to him instead of us, which also means we tip better - if he's happy, we're happy!

This is probably the 5th time I've done the build a burger. It was the smallest bigger to date. Disappointing. I build a low carb gluten and dairy free burger every time. This is the first time my burger has been minimally topped despite my order (and missing one of my ordered toppings no less). Typically I find that I'm awarded a huge burger and a heaping of toppings out of what I assume is sorrow for my dietary restrictions. No sorrow induced extra big & topped gluten/dairy free burger tonight. It was $11.50. I'm sad and still hungry. No one else had a gluten safe meal so the best I could do was the celery garnish off my Mom's plate. I think I will send a note next time. I'm certain despite my disappointment I will be building another GFDF sorrow burger here.

Always enjoy the make your own selections. Disappointing that they gave up on training staff and maintaining gluten free options and menu. Their advice was for me to call them ahead of time to get "gluten free" meal. I already purposely dine at off peak times. For me, it is not worth the trouble-too many other restaurants who want to earn their keep. That's one star for their faint effort to serve the gluten free customer who brings groups and new customers with for lunches and dinners.

We had a family get together here a couple weeks back for their brunch buffet. Just about everything was perfect. The vast majority of the food was kept fresh, restocked and tasted amazing. The made to order omelets that you could also get were fantastic. Nothing like being able get more cheese, veggies, and meats than what your eggs can hold! Was a bit disappointed with the caramel rolls at the tables not being warm(er). They tasted good, but, weren't as fresh as I'd a hoped for. Also, the scrambled eggs in the buffet pan were a little less than fresh. Some of the pancakes you could also tell were sitting there for a while, which is tough to understand considering they have a guy right there making some and handing them out. Everything else, including the baked items, meats, cheeses and salads were very good. Didn't care for the bloody, by the mimosa was damn good. Overall, I'd definitely head back there for a brunch buffet.

I was searching for a lunch place that was better than average and I totally stumbled upon Tavern and had the most delicious soup and seared tuna with rice and Asian vegetables... I can hardly wait to go back. The service was attentive and menu to please the most discriminating palates.

Amazing with fantastic food and great customer service to match. I love the wedge fries and the Veg Head was to die. Found this place randomly after work one day and returned a day later. It's fantastic my New favorite place ^_^

It was packed on a Tuesday night but we got a table and ordered. Had the blue chips, awesome! My friend ordered the buffalo wrap and said it had a kick too it! I had the scallop and shrimp risotto and it was excellent, better than I had anticipated. They put this pineapple glaze on the side and it was really good. We also splurged for the mud pie. Amazing. It was like a Dairy Queen ice cream cake on crack. It was huge and chocolately and the Oreo crust and hot fudge top were to die for. This was my first time here and Id go back.

The food was good but the service was poor. We had a large party so I understood some of it for the most part but the server took forever to refill our drinks. I ordered a drink and it came out a half hour after I ordered it when we were getting ready to leave and paying our tabs. They wouldn't remove the drink from the tab. They also proceeded to make jokes in full view and within ear shot about us because the manager asked how everything was and we made a complaint about dessert. Although the food was good I wouldn't go back there personally unless someone else was having a gathering there. I called 4 weeks in advance for reservations and we were seated almost a half hour after our reservation time while watching walk ins being seated before us. Not a good experience so that is why my rating is low.

While it's a gathering place in Woodbury area, the food is pretty good but the service could be better! After a few visits, I believe the waiter/waitress just don't have time to take great care of their customers. So picking up has been the way to go. We don't have to deal with the inattentive service.

This place, if it weren't for it's gigantic outdoor area, would probably fold. It has to be one of the worst 3 1/2 star restaurants I've ever been to, especially since the menu isn't very elaborate. I guess their gimmicky custom salads and burgers have convinced people that "this place is super fun so quality doesn't matter". Burgers are dry (not hard to make a burger), but I'm sure the salads are fine (you just chop stuff, right?). Fried anything is pretty easy, so stick with fries, fried fish, fried toes. Don't buy a drink if you plan on catching some good feelings because you're bound to get a martini in a dixie cup with ice and minimal anything (basically what I got, no joke), but pre-packaged things like beer and wine are better at getting the job done. My sis' bf and I are probably the biggest foodie critics (though my sis likes to pound food so she kinda counts), but we were somehow lucky enough to order things they couldn't really f up. My sis and mom got the "prime" rib. I warned them not to, but they didn't listen. Not so red. Not so prime. Not red at all. Not good at all. I think the16 year old high school cooks may have something to do with the quality here. Don't get me started on the 19 year old manager whose forced smile just make you want to punch her face and never want to come back. She comped my sis' "prime" rib (which wasn't what we were after) because she told them it looked like the exact opposite of the pic on the menu, and had it exchanged for one that wasn't dipped for 3hrs in their 800 degree "super savory special au jus" (I think it's more commonly known as boiling tap water) so this way it wasn't completely dried out, but instead, a wet, cold piece of red, floppy, flaccid meat (sorry for the visual). I advised my mom that there is no way in heck that they were gonna accomplish a nice medium/medium rare that my mom generally prefers so she stuck with her brown roadkill. Because of this, the manager felt she shouldn't comp hers because she was "satisfied"...enough (because the alternative result wouldn't have been better). Not her words, but basically the attitude if she didn't comp hers as well. It's Woodbury, I get it, guys. Your choices are limited. But trust me, make the other choice.

we are always satisfied with the food and service at Tavern. Build your own burgers are a great way to get exactly what you want in a burger. i recommend getting the Tavern card if you go regularly. it gives you discounts each time you dine.

Had a Cuban that just tasted like salt. Dining room is too loud. I wonder if I am the only person that feels this way because it was packed.

  • Matt M.

Had a Holiday Gathering here and found it to be a nice enough place but Way Overpriced and the manager had no interest in any Happy Hour pricing for the group of 30 plus people, when drinks are $8-$15 shaving a couple dollars off per drink your still making a bunch of money and I bet we would of stayed later than 10:30 too, the bartender Would say she was sorry about the price without me even complaining but $10 Jack n Coke that is made with Pepsi for some odd reason that is poured exact I guess I would feel bad about charging that much too ,I could see some High End Cocktail Lounge downtown doing this but this is a off the interstate almost neighborhood bar ,the food was good enough but still a few dollars more than you would expect to pay

Went there recently on a Saturday for lunch. Our party of seven arrived at 12:50 and were told we would have a 25 minute wait, despite several large, open tables within view. We agreed to the wait and stood in the lobby, even though most of the restaurant was empty (patio was busy). We waited until we were alone in the lobby and then asked again about timing. The hostess confirmed we were next on the list and even pointed out our table...and then seated a party of five there. At this point, we had waited 25 minutes. When we asked why the other group was seated before us, we really didn't get an answer. By this time, we were totally fed up with the situation. We told the members of the host staff (all THREE of them) that we were frustrated and leaving. They offered no explanation and no apology. Super poor customer service - doubt we will return...and we LIVE in Woodbury.

The food is very good. The Tavern card is a great value (and if you do go there more than once, you really should get one). The outside area is quite nice. The happy hour values are to amazing. So why only 3 stars? It is crowded and noisy and has mediocre service at best. In fact, service is down right crappy during happy hour. I will continue going there because of the value. But I will probably be a little irritated every time I do.

  • Leo B.

Had the fish n chips here and it's was pretty good. Wish that batter was a bit more crispy since the batch I had was a little more soft. It came with season criss-cut fries and they were very tasty, the right amount of flavor with the perfect crunch. With the meal I ordered a Bloody Mary, (chefs choice) and it was a bit bland for me. It had the right spiciness but just lacked the richness or flavor. Lastly I ordered the Apple pie for desert and that too was just so so. It had fresh apples and the crust was great, but for some reason it had a weird taste, like an after taste that just threw me off. Overall was an ok dinner.

You can have clean dishes, good service, or good food. Pick one. Been here several times due to some friends who seem to like the place. Food has been good a few times but had terrible service. Other times bad food and great service. I'm usually there for dinner during weekdays. They have better food and service on weekends perhaps. Better options nearby.

  • Melissa R.

Went here for lunch with our department for work and thought the service was good but my salad was even better! Had the build-your-own salad and it was huge and delicious! It should be afterall, I only selected things I like. Fresh greens, good meat, and dressing on the side. I'm eager to return to try something else!

  • Ben M.

Better than I thought it'd be, but nothing overwhelming. Pretty good food, but a bit pricey. My main gripe was my cup of soup that came out only two minutes before my main meal. The "premium" saltine that accompanied it was anything but premium. It was stale like a Jeff Dunham stand up show. My salmon was pretty good though. If not for the cracker debacle, I probably rate this place 4 stars. Would go back.

Large servings very good food! The build your own burger and fries are too big to eat out of a basket. Wish it was on a plate.we left very satisfied

The beer was cold and the Philly steak sandwich was to notch. The bread was amazing. I had the homemade chips which were good but I would try something else for a side next time.

Gave the tavern a second chance last night since some friends wanted to try it that have never been there before. The service was a lot better then the first time. We didn't have to wait long to sit on the patio, I think people were afraid it was going to storm but it didn't start sprinkling until we were leaving, perfect timing! The food was pretty good. Unfortunately we found plastic in our appetizer and my wife found wax paper in her entree. We didn't say anything though, we should have but didn't. I had the pot roast, it was good, very tender but lacked flavor. The spicy potatoes it sat on were pretty tasty though. Drinks were good, dessert was good and service was good. The tavern redeemed itself slightly still an average place, could've done without the extras in our food though.. I suppose I would go back if friends wanted to go.

Every time we have come here we cannot find a parking spot. Even with people parking in the grass there's absolutely no where to park. Tavern grill needs to get their act together and build a bigger lot. We haven't even been able to try them because of this and will likely never try again. I wish I could give less than 1 star.

I would go here again :)! This place had a lot to satisfy picky eaters and enough unique items, flavors, and sauces to keep it fun for more adventurous people too. I ordered a basil tomato sandwich with avocado and they were very generous with both the avocado and the basil! We ordered calamari as an app and it was okay! They also had some yummy hot-tea flavors! The only downside was that the waffle fries were a bit too crispy and the onion rings that someone else ordered at my table were burnt! Even after returning the onion rings, the second batch was too crispy as well. Anyway, I liked it overall!

3-3.5 stars is about right. I've been here 5-6 times for a drink and only once for food. The food was good, but it seems that whatever I ordered wasn't good enough to really remember. Its a suburban bar n grille (note the e for higher class) in suburbia, and although I didn't come here after golfing or a day at the office, it seemed like something I could of found in any major suburb. Don't get me wrong, I think that places like this have their positives, they usually higher better than expected customer service and that part is absolutely true. The servers and bartenders here are very good. Although I asked the bartender once for a very good Bourbon, and he brought me something else, a much lesser Canadian whiskey, however he charged me for the whiskey I wanted, and not the whiskey I got. This was out of the ordinary, but worth mentioning. Its a good place, but nothing overly special. Oh, the only tip: Get the Beer card, discounts on good, good beer.

Just moving from the Dallas area, to a legit suburb this is one the better restaurant options by far. In fact the only one we even go to. We go at least once a week. We invested $20 for the tavern card. it gives you 20% food all the time, on top of happy hour prices, and 3.25 for 25 oz tap beer any kind. That in itself is a great deal. The food is good, they have build your own salad, burger, pizza and bloody mary's. This place is packed every day of the week, no matter the time. The wait is never usually that long, and they have lots of seating both indoor and outdoors. Would I reccomend, yes. Would I come back, yes, we eat here weekly. HH food specials are great!

We went to their brunch buffet for the first time today. Overall, things were pretty average. The service was good, not great, as was the food. Some pros: -$3.50 Bloody Marys that are good, especially for the price, although we were confused as if this included the Build Your Own option. The server didn't let us know. -Build Your Own Omelets that have a good selection of choices. They are very big! Some of our omelets weren't as were requested, which was a minor issue, too. -The hash browns were cheesy and delicious. -The apple/chicken/walnut salad was good and something a little different than your average Caesar or house salad you see on many other brunch buffets. -Fresh fruit was tasty. -Bacon was thick and juicy. -Prime rib! Some cons: -Limited food selection, mainly the basics. Nothing jaw-dropping delicious, everything was pretty standard and classic (nothing wrong with that- just nothing enticing enough to bring me back again) -The Build Your Own pancake station was not Build Your Own... it was just a lady serving us whatever pancakes she had last made. -The eggs were dry. -Pasta and mashed potatoes dishes were boring and the only things on the "lunch" side of brunch. -Mimosas were served with lots of ice and an orange- the ice melts, gets the champagne watery, and there is really very little alcohol in them with all of the ice. -Would have appreciated to see a few more healthy options rather than just the salad. Overall, wouldn't be the first place I'd choose to do brunch, but there are limited selections in the area right now. Looking forward to seeing their patio in the spring, as I've heard it's very nice.

The Tavern Grill took over the former Aperitif spot in Woodbury, did some remodeling, added some different paint and by all appearances has been busy as hell since. This place has been packed on every happy hour/lunch visit that I have attended and it doesn't look like that's changing any time soon; fortunately for the owners they'll have plenty of room to expand the parking lot since there isn't anything else nearby. Unfortunately, with the typically full dining area and the cavernous design, what results is usually a fairly loud open room. There's nothing wrong with the decorating or anything per se, it just seems fairly sterile and too open. The patio and outside bar, on the other hand, is a nice spot to grab a couple of drinks on a nice day. The food isn't breaking any culinary molds, but has always been satisfying. The menu is typical American cuisine; burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizzas and a few entrees. While that's fairly standard for the area, one nice novelty is the build-your-own cards on each table that let you customize your own burger, salad or pizza by filling out the card and handing it to your server. I imagine this will be popular amongst picky eaters (and based upon the dining options available in the area, I am assuming there are a lot of them nearby). Finally, the service, for the most part, has always been friendly. The Tavern seems to fit the area well, but certainly not worth a trip on it's own from across town (there's probably already another one closer to you anyway).

I love the patio, great build-your-own Burgers, and all the other food is pretty good too. The service is always good here. One of my go-to places to eat because I always know what to expect.

Better restaurants and better pricing available. Food to me is unimpressive, boring for what they seem to be trying to achieve. Nice patio and a nice looking bar. Extreme noise level makes it hard to have a conversation. I have been here enough times to know my money is better spent else where.

I come in pretty often with my girlfriends to grab a drink and dinner on my day off. we always somehow end up sitting in Ryan's section. we always have a good time when he takes care of us-and when I say he takes care of us, he does. not only are our orders always correct and speedy, he provides us with awesome entertainment. he is lively and hilarious; as a server/bartender I know this is an important quality to have in the industry. last night my girlfriend treated me to dinner for my birthday. however, we were running late and didn't make it to the restaurant until after 10:30. we explained to the manager (Tim) all I wanted was a steak for my birthday and he made it happen even though at that time they only offer the happy hour menu. I'm always satisfied when I leave the Tav but after last night, I can say I have officially experienced an above and beyond visit at a restaurant!

For Whoever Is Lonely There Is A Tavern! ...And apparently the east metro was very lonely on a Friday night when my wife and I chose to meet up with some good friends for dinner and drinks and looking to try something new. That new place was The Tavern Grill in Woodbury and the place was packed which is a good thing compared to the establishment that stood before them... Taking over the defunct Aperitif, I have a feeling that The Tavern Grill is sticking around with the volume of people that they had on just one night. Can the food really be that good? That my friends is about to be answered.... YES, yes it is that good and so good that I'm looking forward to heading back there to try something new on the menu. Our group of four adults and two children ordered the following meals; Our friends ordered the fish tacos and meat loaf while my wife and I ordered the baked sgetti and Philly. Lets break each meal down shall we... Home Style Grilled Meatloaf - Full of flavor, tender and moist! I would however shy away from adding so much ketchup as the meatloaf itself is good enough by itself. Baked Spaghetti - A large portion of sgetti with pepperoni, sausage and loads of mozz that had better flavor than some of the local Italian restaurants and it's coming from a place call the Tavern Grill. Philly - While I personally love my Philly to have shredded red meat, this was still a Philly packed with deliciousness! Most places make their Philly with grilled onions and red or green peppers, but at the Tavern Grill, their doing something different and adding sweet banana peppers instead. The addition of their special cheese sauce and a grilled baguette made this one heck of a Philly! Fish Tacos - While I didn't taste these, they did look delicious. BIG chunks of cod fillets, shredded cabbage, chili lime sour cream (yum) and citrus salsa, yeah I would try those... The Tavern Grill is definitely serving up some delicious grub and I can't wait to head back to try some of the other dishes on the menu. You may be wondering about the sides, well my friends, I'll just say this... Make sure you get the loaded mashed, yes mashed, not a baked tater! Usually I take a bite of something for the first time and if it's good, I'll let you know immediately, but this time it came from my wife after she tried the loaded mashed... "Those are awesome!" Yes honey they are and they're alllllll mine..... I shared! :)

Been several times and love it. Buy a Tavern Card and get a good discount. Happy hour is great- $3 off everything. Happy hour sliders and waffle fries are very good. Service is friendly and efficient. I love a restaurant that staffs heavily in order to not bomb servers out. Fish and Chips was crispy, hot cod. Great Caesar Salads loaded with freshly grated asiago. Seared Ahi was fabulous! Actually spicy as advertised. Great casual place for adults and families. You don't get pushed out of your table even though there are people waiting. Get there between 5 and 6- no wait at all.

Awesome - massive patio! Great for summers and early fall, decent happy hour too! good combo The service was a little slow considering how many girls they had working, the food was decent. nothing special, but good.

Woodbury has needed a place like Tavern Grill for quite a while now. The interior is massive and nicely decorated, and the patio is wonderful in the summer time. It's a great place to take people from out of town who might not be quite as adventerous (read: mom and dad). My husband loves to go here, mainly because of the BYO (build your own) burger and Bloody options. The one complaint I do have is the wait. I get it- it's a new restaurant and everyone wants to try it out on the weekends, but when we call an hour ahead to get on the list and still have to wait for 45 minutes to get a table, I tend to get mildly cranky. Bottom line: if you don't mind waiting on the weekends, this is a pretty good bet. And yes, I'm with the rest of you- the noise is somewhat unbearable, but hey, could be worse.

Okay food (not great, but typical Minnesota fare) and okay service. Lots of steak, burger, and pizza options. The biggst proble was the noise level that made conversations difficult to hear. Even th waitres had trouble taking our order and brought us 3 plates of 3 slider appetizers (instead of the one plate with three sliders we actually ordered).

This place never disappoints. Have always had great service and the food is outstanding. The mahi mahi is the steak of the sea and they cook it perfectly. The French dip melts in your mouth. I highly recommend The Tavern for everything from brunch to dinner.

I live in the area and have been avoiding this place as it seems to be packed 24 hrs a day ever since it opened. Finally, i decided to venture out for a quick late lunch. I have to say, I don't get it. I'll preface by saying i didn't order anything special or fancy, but what i did have was pretty blah. I had the Tavern Style Sliders, which are suppose to have some sort of BBQ sauce on them? It was 95% ketchup at best. Pretty overcooked, slightly tough, and no seasoning. I also tried the Chicken Littles, which supposedly are fresh ground chicken. The tomato was so bad on this i could hardly taste the chicken, which again was flavorless. Also, had the Season Waffle Fries, which sad to say were the star of the show, and obviously are not made fresh in house. Beer tap list is your standard "crap on tap" list, with one local Summit brew. Browsing the menu, entrees are are on the spendy side. Again, I'm admitting i didn't order anything special, but i guess the way i see it is if you can screw up the simple items, i would be reluctant to spend some cash on the higher end entrees. At least I accomplished one thing and that was getting the urge out of my system to try this place. Unless a group of friends drags me to this place, I will be spending my time at other establishments.

Excellent place with very good patio. The bar on the patio is big and ads to the good feel of the place. The building and the kitchen wing shield a good portion of the patio from direct sunlight. That alone creates a great atmosphere and brings the temperature down. Food is very, very good! Their burgers are very good but I advise you to also explore the other items on the menu! I was positively stunned by their excellent pastrami sandwich on a pretzel bun! Yumm!! Drinks are fairly priced, considering how nice the place is, especially if you're a "member". Warmly recommended!

Yes it's new and interesting, but lacks anything new or different. Make your own salads and burgers were great. Cocktail menu was made by a teenager -- who drinks Schnapps over the age of 19? The drinks were incredibly sweet, the waitress didn't know the difference between Gin and Vodka -- not a cocktail kind of place, stick to beer and wine and you'll be fine. The calamari was uneventful despite it was highly recommend -- and the fondu is in the same category. It's like Hersey's chocolate sauce out of a bottle with some marshmallows. Neither of these items were remotely impressive. Stick to make your own burgers, make your own salads, beer and wine -- you'll be just fine and very happy. All of these items were done just fine. Last note -- PLEASE STOP THE STYROFOAM TO GO BOXES. McDonald's stopped this years ago. If McDonald's is leading the environmental cause, we are all doomed. There are very good paper and corn based "to go" box options -- and they are not more costly.

Pretty good option for dinner in Woodbury. Read the reviews prior and was a little apprehensive about going here....but turned out OK. The service was great and the food was good. Our wait was about 15 -20 on a Friday night. We had the Tavern blue chips for an app, Tavern style burger and the ginger garlic NY strip (this was just OK...probably won't get it again). The build your own bloody mary was great and good value for $8. Total cost for the night was $55. The only complaint that I had was the sound level of the music being pumped through the dinning room. I didn't mind the music but makes it hard to talk to the person sitting across from you.

This place is one of the loudest spots I have ever been to. The noise is horrible. Only go if you can sit outside! The service is so-so. The food is also so-so.I have been there four times We sat outside twice and inside twice. Would only go back for Happy Hour outside. The prices are great for the happy hour period half price drinks and food.So sad we can't get right on this side of town!

I had been to this spot before when it was Aperitif. the inside hasn't changed a whole lot, nor should it. It's massively spacious with a gigantic outdoor seating area. The cheese fondue was to die for and the entrees came in reasonable portions. The steak was cooked appropriately to my order and the waitstaff, while they seemed to be learning the ropes a bit, were friendly and well trained. Will definitely be back again for drinks and appetizers.

The Tavern is like a bad habit. Every time you go you think it will be different and be amazing but disappointment every single time you go. The food is actual pretty good if you get it warm. The service is TERRIBLE. We've been there multiple times and each time the service leaves alot to be desired. Tonight we sat at the bar both with empty drinks for 25 minutes without and offer of refills so we decided to leave and choose another establishment. Also, we've had brunch on the patio with build your own bloody mary's. We were almost on our second plate of great food before we even had waters or our bloody mary's. All in all the service is terrible. I've learned my lesson and will not be returning.

Thought it was such a shame when Apéritif crashed & burned...& this gorgeous place sat empty for a while! When I finally heard that the Tavern group had taken it over....I was SO ready to re-discover the place! I love that they didn't change much of the decor & outdoor patio area as it was already perfect! However, I am SO glad they took a different direction with both the food & service (thank gosh). I have been there twice so far - once for drinks only & the other time for lunch - my experiences have been pleasant with good food quality, charming & attentive staff & great atmosphere! And that patio...is to die for! Lots of space, fireplace, large bar....what else can you ask for?! This place is definitely on my go-to list from now on!

Been here 3 times this year and the food and drinks were ok for a fancy looking place they sure serve low quality liquor. The service has also been very good every time we been to this place and we have no complaints.

Tried this place 3 times to give it the benefit of the doubt. The wait is always horribly long even with a reservation. Not sure why people even go...the food isn't good. There prices don't match the quality. The only reason I see people going there is its a cool place..trendy and new. After that wears off it will be out of bus just like the last place there.

There were a billion cars parked outside and the place inside is huge. It's like everyone from Woodbury converges here. Very suburban place, on the more expensive side. Happy hour is a good deal for food and drinks, not sure I'd come back for more because of the artificial ambience, but staff were very nice and attentive.

Finally a place on the east side worth going to again and again. We needed this! It's new so it's going to be crazy busy for a while, and it can be extremely difficult to hear your party when it gets that loud in there, but other than that, the food is completely wonderful! We have been quite a few times now since it opened and couldn't be happier w/ the food! We weren't fans of the place it used to be, PERFECT fit for this side of the cities! Worth every dime! The wait staff has been pretty good, always friendly.

We had a bridal happy hour shower for a co-worker. The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. As a former wait person myself, I understand that parties of 20 can be rough, but the professional staff made for a great time. We will be back.

The food was ok, decoration and ambiance was good, the service was terrible. There was no seating while waiting for a table, which normally might not be a problem but I was taking my mother out for her b-day dinner and she had recently suffered a herniated disc, so standing and waiting was very hard for her. I had called ahead, so luckily we only had to wait a few minutes. The waitress did not come by our table often enough. Brought us the bill without asking us if we wanted dessert, which we did. The table seated next to us waited at least 20 minutes after being seated for the waitress to come by, they ended up getting up and leaving. Overall I wasnt that impressed. For $100 I can go to a lot better places in the Twin Cities.

I really wanted to like this place. It is very clean, trendy, and impressive inside. But my family went for the first time today to try the brunch, and we were not impressed. The food was run of the mill brunch food. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage.... yada yada. The "assorted fresh fruit" was actually a 3oz ramekin with a few slices of cantaloupe and strawberries. No selection at all. The eggs were rather bland and sausage links ice cold in the middle. And the build you own pancake bar, again was misadvertised. The pancakes were not made to order and the only toppings I saw were syrup and whip cream. I was hoping for fruit. The build your own omelet left something to be desired. 3 of ours was actually burnt, and the veggies in mine were still crunchy. I will say, the Baked Reggiano Hash Browns were delicious, as was the prime rib. And the warm caramel rolls were a nice touch as well. However, the worst part of our visit wasn't the food or the service (our server was quite good actually). 4 out of 5 of us found hair in our food or on our plates. My boyfriend had to pull one out of his mouth that was weaved into his omelet, and my brother's wife had a small one on her plate. The manager came over and said "I heard we found an eyelash? I am so sorry". #1- no one said "eyelash". That was a big a$$ hair. #2- He didn't say how he would fix the problem. When I found a small hair in my horseradish sauce, I thought maybe it was just one of my own broken hairs. But then my father found 3 long black wavy hairs stuck in the caramel on the bottom of his caramel roll plate. Seriously. Disgusting. This time we showed the manager. Again he was so, so sorry. He assured us that all the food service staff wear hair nets. But then he walked away again without telling us how he was going to solve the problem. He did end up giving us half price for our buffets, but the bill still ended up being $50. A meal littered with hair is not worth $50 to me. Being a server myself, I would have comped all the food. Like I said in the beginning, I really wanted to like this place. And would have liked to go back to try dinner. But unfortunately, I doubt I'll ever go back.

It's a new restaurant in Woodbury - so prepared to wait. That's how it always is in Woodbury. That being said, the menu is similar to other "Tavern" restaurants (on Grand, on France). Great bruschetta (could be a meal in itself), decent salads (WAY too big for one person), and the "build-your-own" options are good for those picky eaters who only want certain things. Haven't done brunch so I can't comment on that. Dinner was good, as far as options in Woodbury go it's a good one. But if you're willing to drive a bit I'd say head into the Twin Cities for something more.

A hard place to review... We have been there a few times for Sunday brunch on the patio and have been pleased with the food and servers; however we did wish they has some sort of dessert or a "little something sweet" for the end of the meal. The create your own bloody Mary's are good, but then again you are selecting the items. Our biggest disappointment came from dinner. We arrived on a Friday night expecting a wait and were not shocked when the hostess told us to expect a 45 minute wait, so we took our pager/beeper thing to the outdoor bar to wait. One of the things we noticed were that several times staff was walking around the bar calling names as tables became available: however we did not hear the distinct name that we used. About 60 minutes later we went up to check on our status only to be told that our table was ready 30 minutes ago and oh yeah, sometimes the pagers don't work at the outdoor bar???? Excuse me, you knew we were going to wait at the patio bar and you didn't send anyone out to get us? Once we finally got to our table, the night didn't get much better. We did enjoy their homemade ginger ale; however the food was very salty - to the point were it was almost inedible. Our server didn't seem to notice/care that we barely touched the food on our plates as we didn't see her until she dropped off our bill and asked about boxes. When we mentioned that we didn't want boxes as the dishes were over salted she just said that she'd be back with our cards. I have heard several people having a great experience, so perhaps we'll give them another chance as long as we don't have to wait too long to be seated.

The steak wrap was outstanding. Actual steak cooked to order and lots of it. Tasty. This place seems to keep busy and the patio is the place to be. The staff here does a great job and is attentive. It can be quite busy at times and parking can be an adventure. If you go hrere more than once, get the Tavern card. You can get the big beers for $3.50 anytime, and %20 your tables food bill. Plus your first beer is included in the price of card. I hear you earn points but its worth it for the food discount and beer!

We got a gift card to "Circle T" for Christmas last year, not knowing anything about it. Since the locations were pretty far from our house, it just sat in my purse, until we saw this location from the highway. So we planned a kid-less date-night! NOT the place for a date night, I can tell you that. It was pretty loud in there, and the table for 2 that they seated us at was really long between the two of us, making it even harder for us to hear each other. It has more of a "bar volume," but with dining noises. We are usually early eaters, but we still ended up parking in their dirt "overflow" parking lot. At least, we didn't have to wait more than 5 or so minutes to be seated inside. If we had opted for the patio, there was a much longer wait. However, once we were seated, our service with our waitress was super slow. It was kind of pathetic that at the end of our meal, I asked for a box for my food, and then 10 minutes later she came back to ask me if I wanted a box... umm, yes! The food was alright, nothing to write home about. My husband was a little disappointed though. He did a build-your-own-burger (they also have build-your-own bloody Marys, pizza, and salads). He got the cibatta bun, and the bottom was completely soggy, which in turn also made most of his fries soggy & limp (no one likes limp fries!). The last thing I was disappointed in was when we got the bill, they had charged us 35 cents for mustard (that apparently didn't come on my husbands burger), and another 35 cents for a side of ranch (I always like extra ranch on my chicken wraps). I would have been a little more upset, but since we had a gift card, we only paid $2 for our meal out of our own pocket. I won't be back here again, unless we get another gift card, but even then, I might end up re-gifting it to someone else.

create your own burger. so if it sucks, it's your fault. I found the bun to be a bit big when compared to the stack of ingredients, and a little dry. Overall a nice atmosphere, lots of upsell on soup, drinks, sweets, but it didn't feel pushy, just noticable. When this happens I imagine the team meetings where employees are coached on how to get people to order more beverages and more options on their pizza, and it makes me laugh.

Woodbury has to be starved for new and exciting food choices if this place is so full all the time. I have tried twice to like this place. Both times I was met with good service but flavorless, tepid food that would be at home on cafeteria line. Salads that had flavorless blue cheese, fish (during lent) that must have sinned because it had lost its sole--couldn't resist. The oil must have been not up to temp because the fish crust was mushy but the lack of flavor was already there. I have heard the happy hour is better, but that could be because it is half price for "eh" food.

Brunch = AMAZINGGGGG. I want to go back every Sunday! The carmel rolls are to die for as are the made-to-order pancakes. Oh...and the hash browns are dreamy, seriously, dreamy. The place is HUGE on the inside and has a super nice patio. The menu is expansive to cater to almost any craving! Build your own salads, omelets, burgers, pizza's and bloody mary's make this place pretty unique. It's not too far from my apartment so I will for sure return soon! and update my review - since I want to try EVERYTHING on the menu :)

This place is silly busy. The parking lot looks like the airport parking there are so many cars. Get here before 5:45pm or you will be stuck waiting for awhile, though they have a massive cavernous interior with a lot of seating and a fabulous outdoor patio with a bar. First impression: hated the acoustics. This is bar far the noisiest restaurant in MN. It could drive someone to madness, the echoing din of diners talking and clinking silverware and plates. It is obnoxiously loud due to the design of the roof. I can't imagine my hard of hearing father being happy here, he wouldn't be able to hear anything or have a conversation at all. I have excellent hearing and could barely understand my wife sitting next to me. The build to order thing was easy, 3 menus to fill out for pizza, burger and bloody mary. Excellent bloody mary and the veggie burger was great. I really enjoyed the crab dip with artichokes. Very crabby in flavor with large chunks of artichoke and crab. Excellent. Pizza was ok, the sauce slightly sweet, which is not something I like. Onion rings were delicious. I will probably go back and sit on the patio, the inside noise is too awful for me to consider. I might also get something to go, but you won't find me inside on a busy day, it's that bad of an experience for me. Service was good but one major error. We ordered the appetizer to come first and it did, but the entrees showed up exactly 1 minute later. This was way too fast. I didn't have a beer, but I thought their draft selection needed more local craft beer. I only saw Summit, but they need to add more local and dump the crappy common cheap beers. Bring on the Flat Earth Brewing, Fulton and Lift Bridge and I'll happily sit on the patio for a few! Cliff notes: too noisy, great food, great location, nice patio.
