My wife and I decided to try Punch's Pizza on the 7th of February due to good reviews and our belief that they are a good company because they treat their employees fairly. My wife and I each ordered a pizza, mine was a Margherita and my wife's was a Neapolitan. We also ordered an appetizer of artichoke dip. The food came up pretty quickly, much to our surprise. The appetizer came with foccia bread that was burnt. We ate it in hopes that our pizzas would be better. They weren't. My wife's pizza was burnt and was very lacking in toppings. My pizza was very doughy and undercooked. I took pictures of my pizza because I was amazed at how bad it was. The person clearing plates off of tables came by and saw our pizzas and offered to remake them but we had no desire to go through a re-do. I would like to point out that we got to the restaurant around 8pm and there were quite a few team members there, most of which appeared to be gathered behind the counter socializing. I love neapolitan style pizza and I really wanted to love Punch but I just can't.

Really friendly staff. My first time here with my girlfriend was early fall of 2014. The cashier recommended the Margherita Pizza and we rolled with it. We sat outside and when we received our pizza, the first couple bites was crispy and light. I appreciate that my fingers weren't chalked up in dough and seasonings like most pizza places. A few minutes later an employee had told us they brought us the wrong pizza (it was our first time, we had no clue anyways). They apologized and a few minutes later they brought us a second pizza free of charge. I should've asked what pizza we currently were eating because it looked like the cook actually put the time and care into the pizza. The Margheritza had a pool (literally) of olive oil in the middle. By the time we finished our first pizza, only the crust was edible in the Margherita. Because the second pizza was free, we didn't feel like we were entitled to complain (is it supposed to have that much olive oil on it anyways?). The first pizza was light, crispy, not too heavy on the sauce so you could actually appreciate the crust, and theyre not going to overdue it with the cheese but it was just enough for a light taste. So if you're looking for a heart attack, this place is not for you.

Having driven by Punch pizza for about a year now since it opened and wondering what a Neapolitan pizza was (a strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice creme pizza?), my wife and I finally decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bad decision. We ordered 2 Margherita pizza's with a couple of toppings (pepperoni and spicy sausage) to go. At home, we opened them up and everything looked good, until I took a bite. Instant charcoal taste! The crust on top had a few places where it was charred, but not enough to fill my mouth with. I looked on the bottom of the crust and it was totally charred black. Ugh! It was hard to believe that a crust so totally charred could still be so flimsy when you picked it up. My wife's pizza was the same. I wasn't sure if this is what this pizza was supposed to be and taste like, but we decided to take her's back for a refund. The lady at the register was very nice and looked surprised when we said it was charred. She told us it's supposed to be like that and said that we should had asked for one that wasn't charred. How were we supposed to know this? She asked if we wanted to have another one done without the char and my wife accepted. She even remembered what was on my pizza and had another one made for me. Back home, we saw that there was still a good char around the edges on both pizza's and I wasn't going to eat mine. The char taste from the other pizza was still in my mouth. I'm not sure how anyone can eat this pizza, especially kids. I mean, who likes the taste of charred flour? The crust is the first thing your tongue touches when you put it in your mouth. I will say, the other ingredients we had on the pizza's were very tasty and fresh. The people working there were very nice but we went there for the pizza and came away disappointed. The place was pretty busy so it looks like there are plenty of people that like their pizza like this, it's just not for us. I wish I would have had some warning of what the pizza was going to be like, we could have saved ourselves the disappointment.

Yummy pizza, fast service once you order. Nice outdoor seating. Always seems to have plenty of staff helping out. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is they only have 1 register, which makes the wait longer if it's busy. I'd recommend you go outside of meal hours or late, like after 8pm.

Welcome to Woodbury! I am so glad one of the most fantastic pizza places in the land has decided to grace little old Woodbury with its presence. I counted down the days along with the sign outside and Punch Pizza is finally here! I walked in today for their grand opening and I must say they did an incredible job with the interior and exterior of the place. Clean, modern and friendly are words that come to mind. The food? What can you say about the food there that people who have been there before don't already know. It's incredible! Trust me, folks, this isn't your shabby pizza delivery joint. This is bonafide, straight from Italy style pizza from wood fired ovens and with amazing ingredients that go into each slice. All of this is baked in an 800 degree oven to give the crust a delicious crispy chewiness that is unparalleled. Try some balsamic vinegar to mop up the edges of the pizza with and you too will be in pizza nirvana. So don't get the door for delivery, get to the door and visit Punch for a truly outstanding pizza experience that you won't soon forget!

Ate at Punch for the first time today and really enjoyed it! The line was long but it was lunch time and we were at a new restaurant in Woodbury. It was to be expected. Good news is it didn't take long at all. We ordered the Punch salad, which was good, but nothing special in the salad itself. The best part of the salad was the rosemary flatbread. Yum!! Also ordered the Mimi and the Toto. The Mimi was amazing! Loved it so so much and it was such a simple concept. Will definitely return here!

I've been here twice during weekday lunch hours. I'll start by saying that the cashier, same one both times, is a total sweetheart. She's always smiling! And not in a creepy way! Even if she inadvertently F's something up, she F's it up in the nicest way possible. Which honestly voids the error in my eyes. Basically don't be a dick to me and you're golden. The first time I went, I was thrilled with the elements and flavors of my pizza, but it was just swimming in oil. But live and learn, people - next time I asked them to take it easy on the olive oil. And it was awesome. I tend to veer towards salty toppings - like capers and prosciutto - which really complement their light sauce and thin crust. I've found that my pies have had an ample amount of toppings, and you can specify which ones you want added post-cooking (ex: arugula and prosciutto). Also on my first visit, I ate-in, and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to dispose of my own plate or not. So I stood up with my trash and had a "Durr whaddayado?" look on my face, and one of the pizza cooks kindly grabbed my attention and took care of it for me. The second time I went, I got a free scoop of Izzy's ice cream for my birthday (a gift that is received straight from my heart). Side Note: I believe it is Newton's Law of Life Hating You that is exhibited when you are in a hurry to get your takeout home/work to eat and you hit every single red light on the way.

Update: my new favorite salad is the Greco! I've never liked yellow peppers or whatever they're called, or olives.. This salad has both. It's super delicious, n fresh, and a little salty, but so good! The chop Italian is my second now. Pizza wise the salame with mushroom and fontina is the best. I think it's #13? I'm not sure, but Ik when I see the menu. So far the only pizza I like there. We found out we don't like gorgonzola cheese. He thinks it's sweet, I think it's smokey. The dessert is simple and good, but not worth the price for me. I can make delicious nutella treat at home easy. Old review: OMG! I love their Italian Chopped Salad! Soooo goood! My boyfriend loves pizza. He always orders the margarita with sausage and mushrooms. I think their pizzas are ok. I had one with anchovies once.. waaay too salty. I ordered the salad the last two times we were there. Amazing. Tastes so fresh and it's got little chunks of meat in there. The bread that comes with it is so delish too! Just a little olive oil and i believe rosemary? I'm not sure. So good tho. I like that bread better than the pizza itself. LOL The smaller/cheaper salad is $5, and you get half a pizza crust as side (drizzlUpdateed in oil and topped with rosemary). For me, it's a big enough salad! I didn't finish it last time I was there. We will definitely be going back.

We had never been to a Punch. We tend to visit our local Hudson establishment, Brick's Pizza. Which is fantastic by the way. Anyway, we're in Woodbury on Sunday June 7th and say hey, let's try Punch. The best thing about this experience is the Izzy's ice cream they serve. We're greeted by a kid with a shock of white bleach in his otherwise black hair with the personality equivalent to a rock. Instead of helping us as we looked at the menu, he stood staring at us and taking dainty sips from his cup straw. The other help behind the counter and this one girl working the floor were vibrant and seemed genuinely happy to be there. This guy daydreamed about the latest Def Punk album or something. He even just stared at his fellow employees. After what seemed like forever, my wife says we've never been to a Punch before so he explains the menu. Basic pizza then add toppings, etc. Anyway the food. Soggy. Neither my wife or I could actually pick the slices of pizza up because it was so soggy. Our topping? Pepperoni and sausage. So nothing funky. It just wasn't cooked correctly. The Izzy's ice cream as mentioned was fantastic. There is also a station where you can put your dirty dishes and silverware. That spot was almost overflowing with dishes. When we got to Punch, there were four other tables filled so there was plenty of time to clean up. Anyway, we'll try Punch again but we would like to try the Highland location next time. Definitely not the Woodbury one though.

Best lunch place ever! First of all, the pizzas are awesome! I recommend doing the Craft Your Own Pizza option, where you start with either a Margherita or Napoli pizza (the only difference is that one has basil and the other has oregano) for $6.50 and add on as many toppings as you want (about $1 each). The make your own pizzas are about 12 inches in size, and they come out super fast despite being made to order. When you get your pizza, you'll look at it and think to yourself, "Great! I'll eat half for now for lunch and take half with me to go for dinner." Then half an hour later, you'll look at your completely empty plate and regret nothing. The crust on the pizza's is very thin (a big plus in my book), and they have a pretty thin layer of cheese, so it's not hard at all to just down the whole thing without even realizing it. Definitely coming back here!

I brought my daughter here this past summer and rate it as such: 1- Ambience / vibe. Outdoor seating is decent at this location, albeit small. There was only one open table as it was summer. 7/10 2- Service. We sat at a table that had just served 4 people and all of the dirty dishes were piled up with dirty napkins... etc. and was not cleaned off until I had one bite left to eat of my pizza. Yes, you heard me right. Our food HAD BEEN SERVED on a dirty table without any dishes and garbage having been cleaned off! I had even asked one of the very "unaware" servers and nothing happened. UNACCEPTABLE. 0/10 3- Food. Our pizza was so soggy that I had to literally roll it up and eat it like a burrito. The flavor was OK, but the soggy texture ruined the whole idea of eating a "pizza" for me. 1/10 To sum it up, I had a rolled up, soggy pizza on a table full of garbage with no wait staff help whatsoever until I had one bite left. Get your act together, please.

Had Margherita pizza there this pm. It was awful. It was just limp and pale. No way could you actually pick a piece up and eat it. Everything just slid off. So I tried the fork but the crust was so wet, it barely cut through it. I threw it away after two pieces. Didn't complain...should have. If I go there again and I get pizza like that, I'll send it back. Blech.

Went here on opening weekend(sun 9/8). Service was flawless and food came out in a timely manner. I thought this was impressive considering they just opened. Had a Punch salad which was delicious and comes with some superb bread. The pizza came out and was perfect. I think it is the crust that puts it over the top. I won't get in to how this pizza is different than other pizzas but it was a refreshing change. Will try one with anchovy next!

Had the toto pizza. Nothing spectacular . It was light but soggy. Chopped salad was very good. Fresh and flavorful . I would still Be back to try other things on the menu . It's a cool place to sit back and relax.

It was fine, nothing special, but definitely a nice change of pace from the usual chain food in Woodbury. We went at 12 on a Saturday and the line was out the door, but were able to order within 30 minutes. There was nothing wrong with the food, it was a serviceable lunch, but certainly nothing out of the ordinary. Be forewarned: I had seen in one of the pre-opening write-ups that they were offering a gluten-fee crust, that is NOT the case.

I guess I'm spoiled on the table service at the Highland Park Punch--it can be a pretty long wait in line at the new Woodbury location. When hubby and I arrived there at the end of a workday, the line was almost out the door. We weren't able to order for nearly half an hour. We had time to visit with the folks assembling the pizzas while we waited. They were friendly, overworked, and good-natured. Servers who circulated through the restaurant weren't quite so professional. I had to flag down a server as she walked past to clean our table. In this serve-yourself restaurant, you leave the cashier juggling beverages or cups plus a little stick with the number of your order while you look for an open table. We went outside, and it's a long hike to the water/soda dispenser. The water cups are tiny, and I ended up making the trip three times. The patio is nicely set up but suffers from being right next to the noise of Valley Creek Road--might be much better midday instead of at rush hour. We ordered a Punch salad--excellent--and two pizzas: Margherita extra (with buffalo milk mozzarella) and one we built ourselves with gorgonzola and roasted eggplant. Both pizzas were very good but had random too-salty bits that detracted from the overall yumminess.

Best pizza of my life. Not even kidding. This is perfection in pie form. My go to is the Margherita with capers and a small punch salad.

Ok, I'll give it to Punch. They've mastered the fast wood burning technique. The crust by itself is good- more of a flatbread than the typical American pizza crust. The employees were friendly and helpful. After that, everything falls short for me. I ordered the Cortina. While the ingredients seemed fresh, I could count on my hands the number of individual toppings. We're talking 5 mushroom slices, 3 sundried tomato slices, and 2 barely noticeable chunks of gorgonzola. Almost two inches of the outside of the crust were completely undressed and the middle of the pizza crust was soggy and extremely greasy. With leaving so much bare on the outside, I guess they thought the amount of meager toppings were enough. I dined with the rents and their Bruni had very similar characteristics. Next time I'm looking to spend higher than average pricing for a unique pizza, I'll head into St. Paul and eat at Black Sheep or Pizza Luce.

I liked the taste; but sometimes it seems like the top is not quite cooked enough and can be a lil soggy or runny? Once in a while even the bottom middle is a little too wet. Its not the oil It just wet. maybe its me, but seems to need lil longer bake here would help. Could be trying to be fast is hurting. The staff here at the Woodbury location was great. A lot of smiles, friendly, helpful and on the spot. Really appreciate that!

It's awesome pizza. Great ingredients and helpful staff, nice place for a lunch hour escape or a pleasant family meal. They have this red pepper and fresh mozz pie with spicy salami that's incredible. Beats the pants off of other stuff around here!

5 stars from me! The pizzas are made fresh and hot from the best ingredients, the atmosphere is cool and unique -- the long tables are really homey -- and the staff have always been exceptionally friendly! We have eaten here probably a dozen times and we've never had a bad experience. Easily our fav pizza in the 'bury, and I believe the best salad around! No negative comments here! Keep up the good work!

Nice place to have dinner, I really enjoyed the outdoor seating. Our waitress Jenny was simply amazing and I am grateful for the service. It can be hard to find a nice new place to eat in Woodbury, I really like the vast options on the menu. I would definitely recommend and will have another meal here when the time comes.

Love Punch and very happy there is store in Woodbury now. If one gives up their gluten, dairy and pork allergy to eat pizza for a night. I think that says something!! I have tried many of their pizzas. And I haven't came across one that I didn't like. They pizza are light enough that you don't feel guilty eating a whole pizza by yourself. Plus, all the ingredients are always fresh. They have local beers and who doesn't like a place thy has ginger ale as a fountain drink choice.

Pretty average, but good enough. Like Paul Rudd, not that great looking, average, but I'd hit that. Punch had been on my to do list for a while. I was out going HAM at a wedding the previous night. At the end of the reception they had late night pizza, I had me a square. When I went for seconds they were out. So waking up the next day, it was decided, Punch Pizza here I come. 2pm, I leave my bed. I tried to call in my order for takeout since I live about 15-20 minutes away. They don't take call ahead orders. Hmm...slightly annoyed now, I'm thinking maybe Red Savoys instead. Nope, I get my ass in the car and I start my drive. It's fairly empty when I get there. It's a cute little place, modern decor, with indoor and outdoor seating. The kid taking my order was friendly. After looking quickly at the menu I go for a margarita pizza. I add prosciutto and capers. I read a bunch of reviews that complained about the pizza being soggy, and I saw responses that said to ask for dry. I decided to just go with the standard wet and see how I like it, dry next time. My order's in and the cashier tells me it'll be up in 5 minutes. Of course in my brain I'm like aaaaahuh, 5 minutes my ass, watch this shit will take like 20 minutes. 5 minutes later my pizza was done. Dang. I get home and I prepare to dig in. I get my plate, fork, knife, napkins, Parmesan and crushed red pepper just in case, and I settle in front of the TV. First bite, cold and salty. Boooo. I should have left the capers off. The prosciutto gave enough salt. I shoved it in the oven and waited 10 minutes. I'm starving now and crabby. Okay, the pizza is now hot. First slice finished, and the verdict is average. It's a fork and knife pizza. I added my Parmesan and crushed red pepper, I needed some other seasoning aside from salt. I wish there was more basil too. The crust was okay. They put it up close to the heat and get a lot of charcoal on the crust. I'm a fan of charcoal flavor, but some parts were a little too charred. I'd return at some point to try a pizza "dry style." There's a lot of other places that have blow your mind delicious pizza, but there were some other pizzas on Punch's menu I'd like to eventually try.

I had lunch here. The place was packed when I stepped through the doors, so I just ordered to go. The menu was easily accessible and the to go boxes were very sturdy (probably the best quality pizza box I've seen). Staff was very friendly and welcoming. When I opened my to go box, I was kind of concerned because of very few topping and little cheese. But the first bite drowned all my doubts. I have never eaten such a creamy pizza that wasn't cheesy. The pizza was gone in under 5min. Complete Satisfied here.

Pleasantly surprised! Excellent customer service off the bat, and a very clean and appealing environment. W The star was definitely the pizza. Served extremely fast due to an 800 degree wood fire oven. The ingredients were absolutely of the freshest!!!!!! The best sausage I've ever had and the veggies and cheeses OUT of this world fresh! Another plus is local beers like Fulton, Indeed, and liftbridge on tap! I will definitely return!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
