Ok- This place was simply just as amazing as it gets. We come in 9 minutes before they close bc we just left the Sunset Kiaking Tour with Broken Paddle- *also amazing!*- And they happily served us with a smile. We had already been full from the day but HAD to try this restaurant before we left town- Oh my goodness am I glad we did!! The CHIPS & SALSA were the best we've ever had. Real yellow corn chips, homemade authentic salsa with just the right amount of kick. And then we got our meals. I make the best enchiladas & my husband was playing with thin ice when he looked up after one bite of his Enchiladas del norte & said "These might be the best Enchilada's I've ever had." I don't blame him. After one bite I had to agree! SO I gave them (in my book) the final test of a great Mexican restaurant- Their Strawberry Margaritas. Ok. Here it comes. Oh, they use real whip cream, and there's a cherry on top - and it comes in a fun fluted glass and BAM! YES! They had GREAT drinks too! But it didn't stop there. Even though we were stuffed with enchiladas & chips & salsa we wanted to order something else because they were so nice to let us dine as the only guests an hour after they close. So we ordered the Fried Ice Cream. Oh my word. That did it. The bowl the ice cream came in? Transported me to my own world. I literally couldn't speak. My husband asked if we could take more bowls to go. I gave him the latina "eye". He laughed. That dessert was so amazing I literally went into dessert hangover. So we ended our time at Turning Waters B&B in Wabasha at the best Mexican Restaurant we've ever eaten at. Not a bad way to go out. :)
Very friendly staff and great food at very fair prices. Guacamole and queso were the stars .
Passing through town and saw a grand opening sign for this restaurant. Decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! The service was excellent, the beers were ice cold, and the food was delicious! If you are in town and looking for great Mexican fare, look no further. Stop in and get some fantastic food!

She had the Baja Bacon Skillet, eggs scrambled. She said the Yukon gold potatoes were a smart choice. I had Spicy Italian Sausage Skillet Omelette. Side of hash browns, crisp. I love it when the cook knows what I mean by that, and pulls it off. But check out the English Muffin Toast. It's not the Master stuff (which is fine with me), but rather is lovely round stuff. Nice step up. We were surprised to learn it wasn't from a local bakery. Looks and tastes like it would. It's from Sysco... I'm impressed. Anyway, Stacy is paying attention to the right details. I would have bet most stuff was "local farms" sourced. Some may be. Prep and presentation were perfect for small town café. Loved breakfast.
Stopped in for breakfast. Had the meat lovers skillet. It was a very generous portion of scrambled eggs with all one's favorite meats mixed in. Very delicious, only.issue was the Italian sausage was a little overpowering. Waitress was very courteous and professional. If you are in the area i highly recommend.
I found the waitresses at Stacy's Kitchen to be rude. We stood by the entrance for several minutes without one word of greeting offered by the waitresses. We finally turned and walked out. On the sidewalk one of the guests of Stacy's Kitchen came out and offered an explanation. Apparently Stacy thinks her, or his, food is so good they don't have to be hospitable. Well for us a little nice goes a long way, we will not be back. Went down to Slippery's had had a great meal with nice people.

It became evident that the proprietor is really Irish when I received a "you're-joking-is-the-Pope-Catholic" hard look from Paul Mathias when I glibly asked if he knew how to draw a decent pint of Guinness. I did get a wonderful pour of the dark stuff that was every bit as good as the pints I've had at Garavans in Galway. We ordered shepherd's pie (which was fantastic) and fish & chips. The cod had a nice flaky covering and the potatoes were thinly-sliced and fried and seasoned to perfection. We really like our food and liberally sampled each other's meals, so I can speak with personal experience that everything was truly good. It was clear that no short cuts were taken and that 100% effort was put into everything they prepared. To be honest, I wasn't expecting more than bar grub to stop my growling gut and was surprised with a well-prepared meal that was worth savoring. Paul & Karen Mathias have a great place they should feel proud about.
Great food! Prompt and very friendly service. Great place! My husband wanted Guinness so we gave it a shot and they were running a dinner special - pot roast with mashed potatoes. It was fabulous! Great price, too. We'll definitely be back.
Went there over the grumpy old men days weekend with a group. Owner was not very polite. Looked like the lady place he wanted to be was his bar serving his customers. Not a good way for a small business to build a reputation. Good was decent and there were about 5 beers on tap. Nice concept and style but I put service and customer interaction well above anything else and that was lacking IMO.

Jeff and Sandra were lovely hosts and their home was fantastic (if you go, ask Jeff about its history!) The room was wonderful and the home decor was lovely, nothing was overdone and Sandra has very good taste. Jeff has the digital cable all setup in the living room, should you feel in the mood for TV. The breakfasts were fantastic, though we do wish they were a bit more flexible on breakfast time. The city of Wabasha has some very nice restaurants with wonderful staff. Our favorite was Stacy's Kitchen which is right across the street from the National Eagle Center, excellent food and the most wonderful waitresses. We also ate at Loco Gringos Cantina and it too had wonderful Mexican food, the freshly made chips and salsa were outstanding, as was the entree. The staff here was also very friendly and lots of fun. For sights: the two big one's are the National Eagle Center (also within easy walking distance of the Bridgewater) and LARK Toys. The Eagle Center overlooks the Mississippi at a point in the river where eagles were easy to see (at least in the winter months) but the center has several of their own that are just an arms length away. Even if you're going to Wabasha without children you'll want to check out LARK Toys, its about 5 miles down the road. It has a wonderful toy museum that will bring back memories for everyone and tons of unique toys for sale that will tempt kids of all ages, 1-100! Several places to have a beer or other nightcap as well. Everything but LARK Toys is within easy walking distance of the Bridgewater and we think you'll enjoy both their home and the wonderful little town of Wabasha. Would probably give it 4.5 stars if that was possible. -- John & Sally

We made the trip from Rochester and it was well worth it. The burgers were excellent, great flavor and perfectly prepared. We also ordered a couple items off the southwestern menu, which were also outstanding. The fish taco was killer. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. We'll be back for sure.
Stopped in for dinner. I had ribs, soup was corn chowder it was very good. Ribs were very average, had mashed potatos they we good, had corn it was very bad over cooked. Wife had fajitas they were very bad greasy & they had tiny shrimp & they cut it in pieces. T-Bones much better don't know how this place rated higher. Night life very good at the silver star.
Great bar; great food; great music. Was here this past weekend on Saturday night and saw a GREAT band -- The Chubs. I will be back for sure.

Okay, I feel weird saying this, but this is the best Dairy Queen ever. The staff is super friendly and the cakes are awesome! For Father's Day, I got my dad an ice cream cake with a John Deere tractor on it (farm boy). My family was so impressed that my brother requested the same one for his birthday (not farm boy). They are very willing to make you treats that aren't on the menu anymore and give you lots of filling.
