Surprisingly excellent Mexican food at this Midwestern restaurant! We have the best Mexican food in the country in Tucson, AZ and Guadalajara could compete with the best in the Southwest. I had the enchiladas rancheras with an over-easy egg on top and it was tasty. The enchi sauce had a fresh homemade chile flavor and the whole plate was inhaled. I have been there twice now and both times have been great.

Perfectly perfect! I have Celiac and was so happy to learn of the vast menu with many gluten free options. Even the corn tortilla chips are made in a dedicated fryer. The owner was our server and was so very nice and attentive! I just wish I lived closer so I could visit often. Celiac friendly!

Sunday for lunch. Service was not the greatest and food was also only so so. Waiter could not wait to get us the bill. Did not even asked if we wanted desert. His lost. We will not come back.

Stopped here for dinner one night, I guess good Mexican food is hard to find in general. The service was great, the food left a lot to be desired. I had enchiladas, and wife had a burrito. The salsa was heavy on onion. The beers where big, cold and reasonably priced. We might give this place another shot next time we are hard up for Mexican.

This review is for the people that have actually had authentic mexican food. My mom loves this place, but she has been to Mexico once. I on the other hand lived in San Diego, CA 10 years. I have crossed the border to dine in Mexico countless times. If you are truly searching for Mexican head to Lake Street. You'll find a Lil' Mexico area with much better food. Please be careful if you do... your not in Rogers anymore. Guadalajara cooking techniques and presentation are mostly authentic, but the food is very cheap and bland tasting in my opinion. I don't care for their universaly used Sauza brand margarita mix. It has a very peculiar taste, and is also cheap ( you'll notice this at the liquor stores). Plus they charge for chips??? It's not like people of Rogers are the type to come dine only on free chips all night, what is up with that??? The staff is very awesome and hard working, and the restaurant is a great introductory place to people with limited exposure to ethnic foods.. :)

We were really looking forward to dining here, especially after the good reviews. We can't agree, though. The good news is the service was very friendly. Unfortunately, the margs were not good at all and the food was mediocre. The worst part came when we were told we'd be charged to refill our chips. This is a HUGE mistake on the owner's part. We have never been in a Mexican restaurant where the chips didn't flow freely. Needless to say, we're going to keep trying other places and won't be going back.

Not sure how authentic this restaurant can be given it is run by a guy named Mario. Either way, if you're looking for cheaply made, disgusting, Acapulco style food that tastes as if it was warmed in a microwave, came in a giant bag purchased at Costo/Sam's club, and then reused through multiple customers, this is your restaurant.

I had one of the best vegetarian burritos I've ever had at this restaurant. It was filled with a wide variety of veggies not typically found in a burrito. It was excellent. I thought the prices were high for a place in Rogers, but overall we all had a good meal.

I really like this place. The food is consistently good. I regularly get the Chicken Verdes Enchiladas or the Chicken or Beef Mole Enchiladas. Kudos on the Mole' sauce; a lot of Mexican restaurants don't offer any Mole' dishes. The top shelf and other specialty margaritas are great (skip the frozen in lieu of "on the rocks"). The service is either average or good, depending on who you get. We've never had _bad_ service, just sometimes a little slow. Mind you, the food always comes out crazy fast (so if you, like me, want time to get through a margarita before eating, hold off on ordering), but sometimes getting initial or follow-up drinks, etc. can take a bit. I believe this place is family owned, however (a plus) and we always see the same folks working. Prices are decent. The place is busy on evenings and especially weekends (and, of course, on Cinco de Mayo!). Child friendly and one of the few places out in the 'burbs I actually enjoy eating at.

This is our favorite Mexican place. The food is authentic. The portions are huge. (note: if you get a house special, you can probably share it with someone, unless you are a big eater or want to take some home.) The atmosphere is cheery and the staff friendly and helpful. (e.g. if you do not know what something is, they will be more than happy to help you out.) make sure you try the chips they give out, home made and delicious. I would also suggest the Guac... I do not know if they take reservations, they are always busy when we go, but we have never had to wait more then 20 minutes.

I can't eat spicy so I have a difficult time finding Mexican places I can tolerate. My hubby is a Chicano (American Hispanic) so he wants very spicy and we both grew up in the southwest so our standards are high for this kind of food. This place does the trick. I love the cheese enchiladas and he raves about the lengue tacos. That's tongue - Ick. Oh wait, let me say that in Spanish - ick. :)

This place is the real deal, true authentic Mexican. It's great every time and the portions are huge. It's getting 4 stars instead of 5 because I feel like I'm going to explode every time I leave this place but I still keep coming back. The service is great and fast, it is good for groups and for kids too. Just wish they wouldn't charge ya for round 2 of chips and salsa. The salsa by the way is so so good and fresh. Me likes!

Guadalajara is some of the most authentic Mex i have ever eaten. The staff is extremely friendly and prompt (they earn those tips). The food is an experience for ones tastebuds. And with the portion sizes being absolutely tremendous, you will have that experience for a while. Its all so fresh and oh so damn good, from appetizer right down to your desert of deep fried ice cream! Definently worth the trip :)

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. I will start with what I did like. Friendly staff, cute atmosphere, great drinks and reasonable prices. Unfortunately the food is terrible. I really did give this place a fair try. I was there the week they opened: terrible food. I decided to go back a few months later: terrible food. And over the past few years I had been there two additional times. Again: terrible food. It seems like their rice is overcooked and and try and the meat fillings are probably cooked way in advance and rehated. The meat has completely lost it's texture and is very dry and grainy. I won't be back and I won't recommend this place to anyone until they improve their food. Another reviewer said this food was authentic... If it is, then I guess I don't like Mexican food.

Decent if you want MN Mexican. Don't expect authentic though. Have tried several different menu items and all were edible but not very good.

Food is usually good, service is always friendly and quick. Only downside is the fact that you have to pay for chips and salsa after the first basket.

My wife and kids really love this place. Great service and authentic Mexican food. Love the free nachos with every meal. I typically get the Fish Tacos, which are spot on. Wasn't a fan of the lunch buffet though.

Great food, service, and portion size. Nice fresh jalapenos. Place is always very clean. Margo's are also very good here. I am not as concerned about how authentic the food is, I have had plenty of bland, boring authentic mex. Guadalajara's has allot of flavor, and is authentic enough.

It can be hard to find good Mexican in the western burbs. Guadalajara is pretty solid and has a vast menu to choose from. We usually stop by on a Sunday afternoon on our way home from "up north" and at that time are some of the only people in the joint. I love burrito's and Guadalajara has a really good selection. My favorite is the Ultimate Fajita Burrito - ample meat and grilled peppers and onions. The Sopa de Marisco is also really good with very fresh tasting seafood. The cocktail list has a couple of great margarita's and the Michelada is a great beverage to cool down with on a hot summer day. If you are in the Rogers area and crave a decent sit-down Mexican meal, Guadalajara should be able to take care of you.

The waitress was quick to take our order and put chips on the table. The chips and salsa were below average but being hungry the three of us picked away at them. I ordered the chicken fajitas. When the food came it seemed to be large portions and was hot. My fajitas were pretty good but weren't anything special. I also asked for a refill on the chips when she brought the food. She brought us more chips and salsa but when I received the bill I was surprised with a charge on my bill for chips and salsa. It wasn't that expensive but seemed like a shady move to charge on something that is normally included without mentioning the charge. I only ordered another basket because one bowl of salsa to share between three people isn't enough That charge, and a minimal effort waitress will keep me from returning. Not bad food but not worth the hassle and price in my mind for just another Mexican restaurant

I had the chickens enchiladas with verde sauce. The sauce tasted canned. The chicken was dry and the tortillas were stale. Chips were too thick and the salsa was terrible. It was more like tomato sauce with a few pieces of cilantro and onions. Will not return. Worst meal I've had in a long time.

We are new to the area and were looking for a good Mexican restaurant and this was it. The food was standard Tex-Mex, but pretty good. I don't think anyone at our table felt what we were eating was best-ever, but it was good stuff. Portions were nice sized and the staff was very nice. My only gripe: the chips were not that great. If you like the light thin hommemade kind, these weren't it. Regardless, we didn't go for the chips, so we had no regrets. Maybe a bit on the spendy side for standard Mexican, but no egregiously so. We'll certainly return.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
